Here’s Why a Lot of Delivery Food Isn’t Coming From Actual Restaurants | Eater LA

This was our first time eating in at Brekkie Shack. I door dashed once, and it was so good I had to eat there in person. My son ordered the Brekkie of Champions. He loved everything. The sweet potato and Brussels sprouts hash was so good! We ordered the Loaded tots and the waffle bites. Both were so delicious, but the loaded tots were AH-MA-ZING!! We tried a couple of sweets and a pumpkin spice latte. The daily doughnut was also out of this world. Along with the food, the staff was fabulous! Everyone was so welcoming and you can really tell the owners love what they do and their customers! The place was hopping, but the staff seemed to not be phased and our food came out quickly and hot. The portions were large, so we definitely took leftovers home which made the prices really reasonable. We were celebrating my son's birthday, and it was great because it felt like we were on vacation. Parking was easy, there is a free garage right next door. We will definitely be back and I will definitely be hosting a mom's brunch sometime soon :)

PLEASE GO HERE! 10/10 My boyfriend and I went here to order takeout and now this will be our new spot! We both ordered the coastin burrito and it was AMAZING! We also got a cinnamon roll to split! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious and they have many options to choose from! Their baked goods are baked fresh and still very warm when we order! The staff is so friendly and helpful and seemed like they care a lot about their customers! Will be adding this to a list of places to go!

The waffle bites were basically just burnt donut holes. Tried the seasonal egg hash sliders, very little flavor. Extremely mushy.

Absolutely ZERO seasoning. No salt, no pepper. No jam. No butter, just expensive tasteless food. Got the brekkie of champions and it was terrible and dry. Who eats plain wheat bread?, who eats Brussels with absolutely no seasoning? The bacon was the only thing with flavor, and by the time it got to me it was soggy as heck. Terrible. The strawberries were not fresh either.. hope we dont get food poisoning.

Google
This is what my coffee arrived looking like, completely separated, with what appears to be syrup settled at the bottom, and the entire drink was undrinkable. The lid was messy, there was barely any ice left, and it looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours before being handed to the driver. Pancake was completely soggy and wet. I’m currently waiting on a refund because this was not just disappointing, it was not edible. I genuinely don’t understand how any business can confidently send this out to a paying customer. It’s a shame Uber Eats allows vendors to get away with this kind of quality. Do better.

Went here for the first time with my partner a couple months ago and sat at the counter. We waited for 15 mins while a server behind the counter wasn’t helping any other customers and refused to look at us. Not sure if she was just high or if it’s because my partner is black or what, but she was literally feet away from us and refused to look at us even though we were clearly looking at her to understand what we needed to do to get service. This was late on a weekday morning and there were less than 10 customers in there, so it wasn’t an issue of it being busy. After 15 mins of sitting in there, a solo white customer sat at the counter, and another server who must have been in the back the whole time came out quickly and told him that he had to order his food at the counter by the entrance. She didn’t let us know this, but we heard what she said and went to that counter and she took our order. The food came out quickly and was good for the most part, I ordered the breakfast of champions with a coffee, but be warned: you have to ask for cream for your coffee and even crazier, they give you your toast dry if you don’t ask for butter or whatever, and they apparently don’t ask you if you want it when you order. I’ve never encountered a breakfast place that gives you dry toast! The 2nd time I went, the service was better and the person we ordered our food from asked if i wanted cream for my coffee and butter for my toast, and the food and service was good enough to come back. However, I went back today at 7:30am. They open at 7, but all the doors were locked, and even though I tried the doors multiple times and the staff in the kitchen saw me repeatedly, no one came to the door to explain why they weren’t open even though they were clearly cooking food. There are so many better breakfast places in the area that don’t have high or racist servers and are open during their operating and have better staff that actually acknowledge and give great service to their customers. I won’t be going back.

Google
This place just doesn’t feel like a real breakfast spot. I get that everyone has their own spin on the classic breakfast sandwich, but Brekkie Shack totally missed the mark. In a city where the egg sandwich at Fox in the Snow is a favorite, this one felt like a sad attempt. The egg looked like it came from the freezer, the bacon was somehow both overcooked and floppy, and the aioli tasted more like ranch—way too much of it, too. If you’re going to brand yourself as a breakfast go-to, at least start with fresh ingredients and some attention to detail. This place feels like a half-baked passion project with no real understanding of food or branding. I won’t be back, and I definitely wouldn’t bring out-of-town guests here. It’s just not worth it.

Had high hopes after perusing menu online. Long line wait, no paper menus in line. Once soem arrived they were dirty. 70 dollars with tip. Granted, part of that is under estimating portion sizes which were large on most things except the vegetarian hash. Fellow diner enjoyed their food alright which was the BLT and a deep fried bagel dish. I liked the chili oil with the latter. Also their french fries they let me try them and they were really good and crispy. I got a maple latte (which was good), vegetarian hash and an avocado toast. You seat yourself and provide yourself everything you need (flatware, seasonings, etc). Most booths and surfaces were dirty, including the screen I had to touch to sign for payment. Hash was okay although it was bland and lacked firmness and color. Eggs were not cooked properly as the whites were not fully done, resulting in slimy texture. Flavor profiles were good. Avocado toast was disgusting. Not only was it not toasted, but someone in the kitchen must have poured on lemon juice way too much. Soggy and lemony. People were nice enough, no complaints there. Just the food it wasn't worth the price points in my opinion. Maybe it was a fluke.

Yelp
Brekkie remains the benchmark for an amazing brunch. Anytime I'm close I find a reason to stop in. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. You order when you enter and find a table to enjoy a drink at while your foods being made. The owners are delightful and you can feel the passion they have for the business and their warmth towards customers Onto the food. 5+ stars. My kids love the pancakes. They are large and when you ask for chocolate chips...it's no joke. My wife love the veggie hash and they cook the eggs to her liking. I love the egg sandwiches. I've had them all and you can't go wrong. I personally love the way they cook Brussels sprouts and incorporate them into meals. I only wish there were more Brekkie shacks around town!

Yelp
I was looking for a breakfast spot in the area where I could quickly grab food. Brekkie Shack's menu looked promising, especially with all the breakfast sandwiches variations on their menu. I stopped by around 7:15am on a Wednesday. I must've been the first customer, so it was nice enjoying a quiet moment to myself. I walked past their pastry case, which looked pretty good. I also noted their expansive latte menu. Unfortunately no matcha latte, which was what I wanted. That said, I would've 100% gravitated to the other coffee based lattes if I was in the mood. I mean, S'mores latte? Yes please! Customer service was great. There was one server at the time, and she was very kind and hospitable. Bonus points for my food coming out super fast. Must've took only 5 minutes since ordering. I got The Classic, which consisted of egg, cheese, and smashed avo in a brioche bun. The surprise flavor was a maple mayo sauce. Honestly I thought the mayo was weird. Wasn't a fan of it and ended up scraping off as much as I could. That said, I enjoyed the rest of the sandwich and would certainly come back to try other things.

Yelp
I've been here for breakfast before and really enjoyed my meal! I tried the loaded tots (DELICIOUS!) and the "all the feels" sandwich. With that in mind, I brought a friend by for lunch, excited to try something new, but the flavor didn't seem to carry over to the lunch menu. I tried the burger and while it was beautiful and well prepared, it tasted like I was chewing air. The patties, slaw, and even the fries (though thick and crispy) were very bland. My friend tried the chicken salad but didn't seem to enjoy it either. Service was great as usual though and the space was clean and welcoming. I'll just stick to the breakfast options moving forward.

Yelp
A delightful brunch awaits at a charming spot known for its healthy and delicious offerings. Fresh ingredients and thoughtfully prepared dishes promise a satisfying experience. The cozy ambiance creates the perfect setting for a relaxing meal with friends. Savor the flavors and enjoy the company of loved ones in a welcoming atmosphere. A memorable morning is sure to be had by all. The Breakfast Club" $10 brioche + eggs + white cheddar + bacon + avo + spicy aioli + maple sauce

Yelp
Brekkie Shack is a breakfast go to for me. They always have fresh avocado and the portions per price is very reasonable! We get it to go a lot but have eaten there before. It's cute and easy to order. I usually get the burrito which is very filling and stuffed with eggs. They use to have make your own burrito which I kind of miss but you can edit any dish. I got coastin burrito add sausage and came with gator tots all for $13. We got it delivered via Uber eats and it was still warm by the time we got it. As for the food it's almost for me. I always have to add a sauce or hot sauce to give it a little more flavor but for the most part the food is always good and consistent and I don't feel like a grease put after I eat it. It definitely leans more healthy which I like to start my day!!

Yelp
I want to start by saying I think Brekkie Shack has a lot of potential. It's a cute vibe, and the food was decent. Service was slow, but friendly. I think they need to trim their menu way down. There were too many options to choose from; lots of specialty drinks and food items. If they trimmed down, food could be elevated a bit and would probably come out faster. The breakfast burrito was okay - nothing unique about it, down to the unseasoned eggs. The stuffed tots were delicious! Pancakes were meh, and the bacon was $4 for two slices. Yikes. The speciality drinks were okay - again, I think they need to simplify!
google avatar

Yelp
Great options and good vibes! I loved the open air breeze they had coming in, and my summer veggie bowl was delicious. I think it could have used more variety of texture (maybe add avocado and/or pickled red onion, or other such things to keep it Vegan/GF that makes it feel fresher with all the oily crispy sprouts and greens? Wow, this review turned into a really specific recommendation no one asked for

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Stopped by for a quick breakfast and the service was friendly and fast. I got some breakfast sandwich with maple, egg, bacon and Brussel sprouts and it was the perfect blend of flavors. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
It's been a while since we've written one of these, but here goes! We saw this spot on TikTok and it seemed pretty positively hyped, so we figured we'd get up on a Saturday and give it a try. When we arrived, just prior to opening, we were surprised by the lack of activity inside. Fortunately they opened on time and we eventually entered. One pet peeve I personally have with entering a restaurant, is the anxiety of not knowing the flow or expectation when I enter. This is unsettling and puts the customer on their heels from the get-go. We eventually figured out to take a menu and go to the left to order. We picked a few items off the menu and found a seat. The restaurant on the surface is clean and seemingly well maintained. We loved the garage doors with screens providing adequate airflow on a beautiful summer morning. Our food eventually arrived after some time, and the longer we were there and the more we ate, the less impressed we were. The chalkboard at the front advertised their fried cinnamon roll as a "specialty," and while it was okay, it eventually just became a wall of dough without a ton of personality. We'd have happily paid for an upsell of some kind of jam or caramel or something to break it up, but it eventually just became "meh." We also ordered the waffle bites, which were dense, over fried and had a very small cup of dipping icing that was insufficient for sharing or the portion. For our entrees, my wife had the breakfast club, based on the recommendation of the employee, and I had the meat lovers burrito. They were fine...but that's it. Both incredibly bland, both clearly constructed by businesspeople that have no sense of food taste or pride in their product. There was absolutely zero seasoning or layering of flavor in either dish. I did get the aioli on the side, but it would not have been good in this burrito in my opinion. I have never used hot sauce in a breakfast food I've eaten...until today, and it definitely helped some, but the lack of overall conception to the dishes was a major letdown. As we sat and fished, we saw baked goods being brought from the back, but were quickly turned off by cinnamon rolls being left open, sitting on the counter, unshielded from any potential number of customers passing who knows what onto them. We also saw the pickup line building at front with no direction to it, and minimal customer interaction. For a place in such a prime spot, and with such positive social media on TikTok, we expected so much more, but we went from "this will be a place we might have to try a few times," to "yeah, probably won't be back. It wasn't worth the trip all the way across town."

Yelp
Don't know why I stayed away so long- maybe just the cutesie name. Plus it's not all that handy for me, but I've been nearby a couple times recently and swung by. Free parking in garage, street parking out front. You can use the Park Columbus app; or you can be like me and discover that Parkmobile, the app on the sign, is the same one in the end. Bright open space. Fairly short menu, but lots of good stuff. Ordering was easy. I got the All The Feels sandwich because it seemed to be the star, plus I like everything on it. Plus a cinnamon oat latte, a seasonal from the chalkboard. Latte was big, warm, rich for an oat drink, and perfect for the cool weather. Sandwich was big, but easy to squish down and eat. Perfect bacon, perfect bun, crispy good Brussels, a poofy egg souffle patty. Very good. Service was minimal but friendly, fast, and great. Gotta grab your own napkins etc. in the middle. Place was half full mid-morning on a weekday, and somewhat loud but not obnoxious. I bet at peak it is loud and hectic. Some places are overhyped. This deserves the hype. Good food, fast, in a nice space with friendly service and plenty of parking. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Yelp
Seriously such amazing food for the right price. Unique and delicious. I want to go back and try more of their sweet treats and the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Went here for lunch today since it's close to my work building. Had a great time with a friend! We both got the chicken blt salad with lemon poppyseed dressing. It actually was a lot of food and was really tasty! Really good and fresh on a summery day. I also got one piece of the PB / chocolate chip bar. Really yummy and rich!!

Yelp
Overall, everything was a pretty good experience for being my first time. I love the Grandview Yard area. You have free parking in the garage connected to Brekkie Shack, street parking is not free. This is an order at the counter and seat yourself place. For a Saturday morning, they were decently busy but not too bad so it made for a smooth experience. There are plenty of pastries to choose from, breakfast & lunch options, as well as many coffee & espresso choices. I went with the Coastin Burrito & added bacon, as well as the Cookies & Cream espresso. They use Crimson cup coffee which is my all time favorite but I will say the cookies & cream I was expecting a little more than just Oreos on top. I know pricing everywhere is getting outrageous but I think this place is overpriced for what it is.

Yelp
Empty at 945 on a Monday. Heard a lot about this location, but a first time visitor. It is in the midst of a huge population of apartments and businesses . I'm sure that is good for Brekkie. I immediately noticed the cement floors were sticky. Hmm. Walked up to order and was greeted nicely. I ended up with their standard egg sandwich on brioche and a coffee. Hmm, the table tops are sticky too. Sandwich was not special at all, in fact it was over cooked. Or it had been lying around. I'm not sure. Coffee was lukewarm and they did rectify that. Maybe it was a bad day. Very welcoming decor.

Jen M.

Yelp
Both the hash and the burrito were dry, overpriced, and bland. Disappointing. Uninspired. Bougie but not good.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Met a good friend here for breakfast yesterday and it was busy but not too busy when we met about 10 am on a Friday. When you first come in they have a case of baked goods and pastries you can order from, but we went right to the menu and each ordered the Brekkie of Champions--wheat toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, and Brussels sprout/sweet potato hash. My favorites were the bacon and the hash. The eggs were kind of dry to me and more custardy like quiche than scrambley to me. Yes, the price is a little elevated here but it's a great atmosphere and they are obviously using top notch ingredients. I'll be back when in Grandview.
google avatar

Tameka M.

Yelp
I ordered and waited for my delivery, got something else's. No one called from the restaurant to say they were subbing anything in the order. Definately not ordering again
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
" all the feels" sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich in Columbus!!! The owners are great and good service! They make Fresh treats every morning!

Ted P.

Yelp
Another attempt at this place. Came it was not as busy. Today they are out of creamer for coffee, and ketchup. And food was still late. These owners need help with running a business. Trying to provide wholesome feedback for improvement.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my sister around 1pm on a Thursday. We were able to park in a garage nearby for free, but there is also pay-to-park street parking right outside. When you walk in, you place your order, and then you can pick your seat and the food will be brought out to you. There were a good amount of people dining in, but there was no wait to order. I ordered the Chicken Club, and my sister got the Chicken Avocado BLT salad. The service was fast, and our server was very pleasant. I enjoyed my meal, although my sandwich was sort of falling apart while I ate it. My sister enjoyed her meal, but she noticed the tomatoes were the only thing not chopped in the bowl. They were actually full, thick slices. The vibe of the restaurant is sort of beachy, with pineapples and blue accents scattered across the wall.

Prince S.

Yelp
The food does not taste seasoned at all - I would should have just went to to grocery store and ties to cook something up myself. The vibe is nice and I would only go if you like desert sugary items. Everything else taste EXTREMELY bland

Yelp
We live super close to brekkie shack and it's been a staple since moving to Grandview! Specifically today, we had a pretty great experience! Food was hot and super good, they did forget our pop tart but very kind and willing to get it once we mentioned it to a server. We tried one of the special menu items, the hash brown egg sandwich which was SO GOOD. It is very greasy just as an FYI, but it's hash browns as the "buns", egg, cheese, sausage, and their classic aioli. I this was also my first time trying to pop tart, also very good but pretty dense! The order line was relatively short when we got there around 11AM and we were easily able to find a seat. Our food came out very quickly as well. This is my first time back to brekkie shack after a hiatus because the last couple times I have dined here, the wait was long and our food was not the best. I'm hoping that they stay on this track that we experienced today because everything was fantastic!!

Yelp
Okay so I've been back since my last raving review and I'll say - the quality has gone down. There seems to be a lack of a system when it comes to bringing out the food. My friend ordered a sandwich, had her table number and waited about 15 min. A worker comes over with a brown back and said "Is this yours?" We asked what was in it and she said she didn't know. Okay???? So we didn't take it. Then another worker went walking around the restaurant asking each table if they ordered that sandwich. When she got to us - my friend said yes but not to go. So they took it out of the cardboard box and put it on a plate for her. Fancy! We ordered the cinnamon roll and it once again came in a box and was cold. I had asked them to heat it up when they brought it to me and that's how it's always been there. We paid the tax to eat there on a $46 bill, why is half the order in Togo boxes... They have a ton of people working but yet is was super hard to get anyone's attention. All the tables weren't being cleaned as we watched workers slowly pick up the dirty dishes - but never once wiping down and cleaning the tables. I tried the salad and it was just meh. Very bland honestly and I didn't taste the dressing at all. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be back. The last time I came they forgot the chicken in my meat burrito and when I brought it to their attention, I waited ten min for a new one where it was then 75% chicken and barely any of the rest of the ingredients. The quality and service here has just gone downhill. So many other breakfast restaurants :/
google avatar

Maddy G.

Yelp
Good was pretty bland. Could have made the same breakfast at home for cheaper. The establishment itself was clean and cute but food was okay.

Terrik E.

Yelp
this food was so tasteless 1/10. how do you even make bad eggs as breakfast place? honestly the water was the best part of the meal. overpriced for a lack of service and tasteless food and you even have to season it yourself because they literally do nothing.

Mckenzie H.

Yelp
Been curious of trying this place and finally did for the first time this morning..very strange atmosphere-staff were not friendly and seemed to want to chat with one another more than help the customers. It felt like a restaurant run by high schoolers. Food was very subpar.

El T.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice and the food was okay. Nothing crazy. Workers were very kind!

Yelp
I placed a small catering order for an office breakfast I was hosting. I had tried Brekkie Shack once before because they are so close to where I live. The office seemed to like it last time so I thought I'd give Brekkie Shack another whirl. When I arrived, they scared the daylights out of me because nothing was ready and the girl at the counter said she hadn't been told about my order. She had to call her manager and get things worked out. Thankfully I showed up early, or things could have been a whole lot worse. The girl that was apparently the shift manager didn't even put my mind at ease or apologize. She hardly communicated with me at all while I waited nervously. When you request an 8am pickup, that doesn't mean you start assembling the order at 8am, rather that means you need to walk out the door at 8am. This same girl brings out three trays and says, "Here you go!". I said don't I need to pay you? Plus don't I need plates, utensils, coffee, cups, cream, sugar etc. There are obviously serious issues with their process for processing catering orders. This whole process has me stressed and I definitely don't feel my order is correct . The office enjoyed the eggs and veggie hash but the bagels were unable to be eaten. Some were as hard as rocks and the others were super chewy. Very disappointed. I can't imagine doing this again.

Yelp
Checking out a new breakfast place in town and found this place. Very cute ambiance, I can see how it could reflect the beach's vibes of Australia (which I'm assuming is where the Brekkie came from). It's not a full service restaurant so know that in advance. Your order and you get a number and it's delivered to your table. Condiments, napkins and silverware are all self grab. Service was amazing as everyone was very nice, attentive and the food came out fairly quickly. Food was prepared well and to order. I tried a refresher but it wasn't my cup of tea. It was just sparkling water with fresh (?) fruit. The fruit didn't add much flavor and overall it didn't taste like much (my typical hesitation with sparkling flavored waters). The waffle bites were nice but I would have preferred them to be warm and with a bit more coating. The cream cheese dip in the center was good but there was just under enough to eat a good dip with each bite. The burrito took me a second to wrap my head around. I expected it also to be warm and it wasn't, would have been so much better if it was. I definitely could have used some cheese or salsa; something moist as the avocado was limited to one area. The toast on the tortilla was nice and made for a good bite. Eggs were very under-seasoned leading to a pretty bland overall flavor. Tator tots were made to perfection! They were still pretty warm (not hot) and very crispy. Overall, wasn't a bad breakfast and would come back again. I, personally, wouldn't try the refresher again. I may try some of the other meals and watch them prepare it or ask that everything be warmed up sell as to have a hot meal.

Yelp
Very yummy! The French Toast with strawberries was shared by all. All the good things was exactly what you want if you enjoy Brussel sprouts. Love to back on a warmer day when the garage doors are open and I can try some drinks too.

Yelp
Food was 10/10! Loved the meat lovers burrito. My husband also loved their peanut butter latte. Will definitely be coming back! :)

Yelp
This place is an amazing business. I got a chance to meet the two owners and I have dined here a few times. Both Owners have a passion for there business like no other, And they don't forget to interact with customers, no matter how busy the business is. If you visit for the first time, you must try their Donuts. It a very unique item. The staff is super friendly, and it a great place to sit and talk to get your morning right. They even have a TV near the bar area if you want to catch up on the latest sports, or what ever you want to watch. The Smiles are their Faces are infectious, and a great place for breakfast.

Yelp
Came after the gym (esporta nearby) ... excellent food selection they also can customize certain options to be healthier. Loved and appreciated that they opened early at 7am for early risers. This will become a regular go to post morning workout spot for me now that I know they open early. I highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
First time at Brekkie Shack, super cute little place for breakfast. You had to order your food first before you sat down, which was confusing. The menu had alot of good options. My boyfriend and I both got different things. I got the breakfast club and he got the meat lovers burrito. My sandwich was filling, a lot of bun on top but really good spicy aoli sauce. The burrito was also filling but could of had something creamy inside to add some flavor. We waited about 15 mins for our food, which seemed kind of long. Not sure it would be my first option, but still good.

Yelp
I grabbed takeout breakfast on the way home from an appointment, and was pretty happy with my choice. The entire shop's atmosphere is very California Surfer Bar, which is a little much at 8 in the morning, but totally fine for takeout. Service was very friendly, and while the food took a minute, I could tell it was made fresh. I got the Brekkie of Champions (the name is the only thing terrible about it, I promise), which was A LOT of food. The eggs were a little too fluffy for me and needed salt, but the sausage and bacon were cooked well, and I really liked the sweet potato/brussels sprout hash as something a bit different from normal potatoes. The toast was fine - needed butter or something. I'd like to come back for outdoor seating in the summer and try some of the sweets and coffee - it all looked great, I just needed some protein today :-)

Yelp
Ordered takeout from the Brekkie Shack on Sunday morning. The Breakfast Club sounded amazing, but was underwhelming in reality. The egg portion was too thick, and the sandwich seemed to be missing the sauces. The daily donut was good though!

Yelp
Our second stop for Restaurant Week 2022 was a call ahead order for carryout at Brekkie Shack! Their three courses included a drink, a breakfast entree, and a sweet. Our order from the Restaurant Week menu was the Berry Refresher (muddled berries with orange juice and sparkling water), the stack of pancakes, and the cheesecake chunks. We also got a regular lunch dish - the chicken club with fries. The food wasn't quite ready in the quoted time, but it was only about a five minute wait and the staff was friendly. There is a dedicated spot right in front reserved for pick up, which was really convenient. The Berry Refresher was exactly as promised - refreshing and packed with strawberries. The stack of pancakes was no joke - these are several huge pancakes, and they came with a little container of maple syrup. The cheesecake chunks came with two chunks, with a chocolate topping and berries in the cheesecake. The restaurant week selections were delicious and much enjoyed. The chicken club came with avocado, bacon, cheese, and a spicy aioli, and it was pretty good, but next time, we'd probably ask for more sauce - it was a touch dry, and the aioli had a good flavor. The fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. We're interested in trying some more options in the future!

Yelp
What a great place to grab breakfast. Beautiful indoor and outdoor setting. Like the ability to order and sit down to avoid congestion. Love the unique breakfast sandwich options and drinks. Had a few vegan options for my friend.

Yelp
I came here on Sunday at around 10AM and was able to grab a table even though it was slightly busy. We ordered up front and we have to grab our own table. The environment was cute and a fun brunch spot. It was a little stuffy and my clothes smelled like food when I left. I got the Brekkie of Champion ($11) and to be completely honest, I was not impressed. There was not much flavor and I could have made my own eggs, bacon, and toast and it would be the same. I did like the sweet potato brussel sprout hash tho. I will probably come back and try some other stuff but I will definitely not get the same thing.

Yelp
The food here was underwhelming. The cinnamon roll was extremely doughy & was raw besides 1/4 of it. The food does taste all natural so that's a plus, however there was nothing breathtaking or amazing about the meal. I did really enjoy the environment though. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and was set up nicely. Safe to say that i will not be returning, it just wasn't a captivating experience for me.

Yelp
Food here was delicious! I got the coastin burrito w bacon, and the tots on the side were perfectly prepared as well. Delicious. My mom got the breakfast club which she said was great! We also shared waffle bites which while delicious really didn't resemble waffles in any way. Seemed more like pancake bites or donut holes. Still tasted great, just thought they'd look like mini waffles or something. Took a donut to go for a friend, which also got a rave review.

Yelp
Cinnamon roll was cold, stale, and had no cinnamon flavor at all. Drip coffee tasted watered down

Yelp
If you're looking for a small breakfast for takeout then this may be the place for you. The coastal burrito was decent with a couple tater tots, but I would not recommend the bakery items as those were very hit and miss. We tried a pop tart which we liked but the coffee cake was rock hard. The service was not the best as it seems more like a fast food place than a restaurant. The ambiance just felt crowded but the decorations went well for the pineapple theme. They do have a little bit of outdoor seating.

Yelp
Possibly my worst breakfast dining experience ever. Went for "restaurant week," drawn by a prix fixe menu with gluten-free options that looked every bit as cute as the name Brekkie Shack. Warnings: 1) poor value, 2) poorly cleaned, 3) no TP in women's bathroom, and 4) very slow service. We ordered at the counter, were given our strawberry "pop tarts," and walked to a table, our feet sticking to the floor as we went. The coffee arrived promptly, but my "dirty chai" espresso turned out to be a cold drink, to my surprise (not noted in the menu). My wife's drip coffee, which she had ordered with cream, came not with a container of cream but with cream already mixed in (and less cream per coffee than she would have used). We nibbled at the pop tarts (sweet pan pastries, like brownies, that did taste like strawberry pop tarts), sipped our coffees, and waited. And waited. It took 25 minutes for our main breakfast dishes to arrive, a breakfast sandwich and a scramble, and the place was virtually empty (8 am on Tuesday morning). There was only one other table occupied (a couple of guys looked at a slide deck on a laptop). My breakfast sandwich had been made gluten-free by leaving out the brioche, rather than by substituting GF bread, which was a little disappointing. Worse was that the dishes were lukewarm, the hashbrown waffles very oily and all crunch, the eggs unseasoned, and the roasted brussel sprouts limp and boring. It turned out to be an expensive experiment in branching out. I should have checked the reviews first!

Yelp
Outstanding - we hosted a LOVE the office breakfast this am. The food and coffee from Berkkie Shake was a hit. The gluten free options were just as tasty as the regular menu items (ok not the amazing donut holes, they were above) and the iced coffees were literally the on the top. Thank you for making our monthly celebration the most Loved!!! For a little something special, I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Ordered some breakfast off of door dash. I've had this place a few times before and honestly can say I have been underwhelmed every time. This time I ordered the plant lovers burrito with added avocado & a side of bacon. The burritos are massive, I could only eat half & had to save the rest. The flavor is OK, definitely needed some hot sauce or chipotle aioli or something along those lines, would've been very bland without. Luckily I have hot sauce in my fridge since they forgot my side hot sauce I ordered. The bacon was also just OK, it was a bit tough to eat. The only thing consistently good here is their coffee. I got the chocolate chip pancake latte which I also had last time I came here. Both times it was exactly what I wanted. Overall just an OK place, wouldn't go out of my way to get it, if you're looking for a decent breakfast burrito, there are better places nearby.

Yelp
What a great little place for a healthy quick breakfast! I enjoyed the Coasting burrito with spicy black beans ( they were more flavorful than spicy). My daughter had the plant based burrito. Will definitely share a burrito next time they are large! Can't beat the location!

Yelp
We love eating here! Flavorful food, full barista style coffees, and THE BAKED GOODS!!! We also threw a Private party for my husband here. The owners went out of their way to help with everything from creative drinks to menu options for an evening party. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Brekkie Shack is located in one of the newer Grandview Yard sections, with street and garage parking. They have patio seating and big windows that open up for more light and an open air feel. Their patio is listed as pet friendly, buy I didn't have my dog. The first thing we saw when we walked in were the pastries. Nobody said anything about pastries! They have something for everybody, and the server was really upfront about pointing out allergens and dietary fits without prompting, which was kind of awesome. My friend got the strawberry coffee cake and I had a lemon butter bar, and we split some protein balls. All were immediately packaged to go. I appreciate this, as I had planned to take mine home. We both had the BLVT Sandwich, but I modified mine and they were super nice and accomodating. No bacon, sub avocado, add eggs please. YUMMY! We both had decaf iced lattes as well. Our food was delicious, fresh and tasty, plenty of veg. The coffee was cold and strong with just the right amount of sweet. The portions were pretty large. The protein balls are just a little sweet, with dark chocolate and seeds. At 3 on a Sunday, it was slowing down, so we could hang out for a while, guilt free.
