Brenner's on the River Walk

Brenner's on the River Walk is an excellent restaurant with great ambiance, food, and service. The interior is stylish and comfortable. Our family started with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp as an appetizer. Although we didn’t order the Crab Cake, it is considered one of their specialties. The bread service is $5 and definitely worth it. For the main course, we ordered a 10oz Filet Mignon, New York Strip steak, and Miso Seabass, accompanied by Au Gratin Potatoes as a side. Overall, the meal was very satisfying, and the service was friendly and attentive. For dessert, we enjoyed Ice Cream, Sorbet, and Gelato, rounding off a delicious dining experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a special meal during their visit.

We came for my husband birthday with family. Variety of dishes, and wines. Small dishes with different fusion of flavors. For appetizers, we had Bread Service, Roasted Bacon and Sticky Burnt Ends (amazingly flavorful). Lobster Bisque was really delicious. Crispy Rice Sushi was unexpected but really good. Miso Glazed Sea Bass and Crab Stuffed Shrimp was very flavorful and delicious. 😋

First time dining at a Brenner’s and we are very happy we did! Great place. Nice interior. Great wait staff. Our server, Vincenzo, was very well informed about the menu choices and did an excellent job waiting on our table of two. They had live entertainment: a female singer who also played the piano, and she had a wonderful voice and a good song selection. The food was deliciious. Lobster bisque was the best we have ever had. The shrimp in the Shirmp Cocktail were huge! The New York Strip Steak was perfectly done, tender and tasty. The family side dish of Au Gratin Potatoes had a wonderful cheesy flavor and it was a generous serving for two. We also ordered the Brenner’s Bread Basket and loved the multiple types of bread and two types of butter. We did not have any room for dessert, but their choices sounded delicious.

Joseph G. Was a super waiter. We are celebrating our 35th anniversary. Thank you for going the extra mile. Definitely make a reservation. Steaks were perfect. Mushrooms were just as amazing. Kudos to whoever put rose petals on table - it was a kind added touch. Had lobster & crab rolls - delicious!

Had a wonderful dinner at Brenner’s on the River Walk! The crab cake was perfectly seasoned and the steak was cooked just right, tender and flavorful. The atmosphere was relaxing with a great view of the river. Big thanks to Aaron, our server, for being so attentive and friendly throughout the night! Highly recommend.

Was on the Riverwalk for Thanksgiving this year, couldn't have picked a better place than Brenners to try and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner! Our waitress was awesome amd so was all the food. Had an awesome table upstairs in the balcony overlooking everything, it was perfect 👌

Went to this place on a whim and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly and accommodating, readily able to read the needs of the table without being over bearing. We ordered the short rib appetizer which melted like butter in your mouth. The lobster and buffalo steak was cooked well but I’d happily order an entire entree of short ribs next time. My only complaint was the level of noise inside, at times it was difficult to hear our waiter.

Early bird walk in. We found this to be an upscale establishment with fine wines available. Three choices for dining: The upstairs formal dining room (where we dined) The upstairs covered balcony. The downstairs lounge and outdoor patio on the riverwalk. (A lovely and talented young lady was singing beautifully.) Matt was our über capable server who provided us with good choices and prompt service. We began with lobster/crab rolls. Then we had an 8 and 10 ounce filet which were nothing but the best trim and taste, cooked to medium rare perfection. We added roasted Brussel Sprouts to complete the meal. My DW finished up with the bread pudding where I pilfered her Häagen Dazs old folks vanilla bean.

Made a reservation on a Friday night. Definitely recommend having a reservation as wait times can get up to an hour or more. It's a popular spot so plan ahead! Ambiance and service were great. It's right on the riverwalk so sitting outside was pleasant. The steak was good, but honestly the star of the show was the FRIED OYSTERS! Man I would go back JUST for those. The batter was so tasty and well seasoned, oysters were not too fishy and creamy. The fresh tomato pico de gallo like topping was the perfect fresh acid the fried dish needed. Definitely would return, and highly recommend the gulf fried oysters!

Came to celebrate my husbands birthday at Brenner's last night. Man were we impressed, the food was delicious, the service was amazing and the ambiance was spectacular. Our server was so attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and their specials. He gave great recommendations on food as well as what drinks to pair our entrees with. The salmon was amazing and the tzatziki sauce was a nice touch to tie all the flavors of the dish together. The steak was juicy and tender, seasoned well and cooked to perfection.

I visited this restaurant from out out of town last night (10/15). I wanted to select a nice place for my partner's birthday. To start positively, the location was beautiful and the hostesses were very friendly and helpful. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation and weren't expecting at all to be accommodated prior to that but they worked very hard to make sure we had a table ready as soon as they were able. Also the bartender was very friendly and made great drinks. When it was time for us to be seated we were led to the upstairs area where there was formal dining room. It was very very loud! It was extremely hard to have a conversation with our group of five people as there were many competing tables all around us. The service was very slow and our server talked a million miles a minute! I am all for urgency but he was talking way too fast. He shared with us that he used to be an Auctioneer and that was just how he talked. We gave him feedback to slow down so we could hear and understand him, especially since it was so loud in the restaurant but he didn't really accommodate that. The wait time between the time we sat down and got our drinks ordered was very long. He didn't offer an apology for the delayed service and even when we ordered our apps and food the wait was incredibly long. When it came time to pay the bill, we waited forever to get our check and then once we paid he didn't even say thank you for dining with us or anything he just took our checks and left . Overall the food was delicious. But I don't think I'd go back.

For this visit to Brenner's we went dined on their Restaurant Week Menu. I loved trying the soup and desserts but the best part was the entree. Their steaks and meat are always perfectly prepared and the service is always top notch. The restaurant offers seating upstairs and downstairs, there is even some outdoor seating overlooking the riverwalk. In addition they often have live music downstairs to add to the ambiance.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary dinner at this place...and what a great choice! We decided to sit outside on their nice patio area, where we could still hear the live music from inside. We started with Bang Bang Rock Shrimp as appetizer...then my husband chose Pan Roasted Chicken, and I had the Braised Short Rib...then ended our meal with their amazing Creme Brulee in this dynamic long plate presentation. Well, each and every item was absolutely luscious...truly all-out delicious!! Even their drinks were amazing. I had 2 glasses of their Pear Blossom cocktail...and loved it! What a stellar choice for a special night in San Antonio!

You have a lot of choices on the riverwalk, it seems big corporate names are starting to take over. I was looking for something more local. Brenner's has a beautiful dining room, white tablecloth and brick walls. This place feels like an old school steakhouse for sure. The folks choosing to sit outside on the patio were dressed pretty casually, as you went upstairs the tables seemed to get more "formal" and folks were dressed up a bit more. The wife and I split the Wagyu beef appetizer. It is served in somewhat thin slices, served raw with a hot stone so you can cook it to your desired doneness right at the table. Fancy touch for sure, they bring a variety of sauces and pickled onion. This was a fantastic appetizer and honestly I thought a good value. If you've ever wanted to try Japanese Wagyu, this is your best introduction for the price you are going to find. I also chose a lobster bisque as an appetizer. This had a very good flavor, and they didn't skimp on the lobster. Unfortunately, the lobster was in a couple big chunks. It would have been nice to have been cut up a little as it's awkward trying to cut up lobster with a spoon. I'm not going to complain too much about a big chunk of lobster though - even though I did get a piece of shell in there too. My steak was well prepared, and well seasoned. I ordered a NY Strip and was very satisfied. While I was happy with the flavor and the correct cook, I think they need to be just a little more picky with the quality of the cuts they serve. No gristle or anything like that, but a little more tough than I was hoping for and honestly a bit more of the hard/chewy fat that I'm aware you will always find on the side of a strip, but prefer some of that be trimmed. All in all, I'm just being super picky, because next time I'm in town, I'm very likely to choose Brenner's again. We had a fantastic time and I like to feel I got what I paid for. In a steakhouse, that is an exceedingly rare feeling. I felt I had a fantastic meal, excellent service and a price that seemed reasonable.

Well done. Everything you can expect from a high end steakhouse. The AC was a wonderful reprieve from the hot San Antonio heat. Nice bar at ground level. Three waters into hydrate, a martini and some wine to wash down a fabulous rib eye with crispy brussel sprouts. Fantatstic!

I made a reservation a few weeks ahead for Mothers day to make sure we got a seat. We arrived about 10 minutes early to our reservation and we were sat promptly. We were given the choice of seating so we chose to sit outside on the balcony since it was a perfect day. We were greeted right away by our waitress and she explained the menu to us and also gave us the specials for the day. She offered us drinks but we were not drinking that day so she offered us some mocktails and we chose the Watermelon mint troubadour! Awesome drink, great tasting and refreshing! So good we both ordered two! We ordered a few appetizers and the first to arrive was the crab cake! It was all crab and no cake! Perfectly cooked and assembled! Second to arrive was the A5 Japanese Wagyu and the HOT stone! It def grabbed the attention of the other patrons as we cooked it at the table! Once done the steak was so flavorful and tender and the pairing sauces were perfect! For entrees my wife ordered the 6 Oz. American Wagyu Filet Oscar topped which also came with asparagus, and she ordered a side of augratin potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender enough to cut with a spoon the Oscar topping tasty and all crab! The potatoes hot creamy and so cheesy! I ordered the Miso Glazed Sea Bass with wok style broccolini, and sticky rice! The fish was so thick and flakey and cooked to perfection! The sauce and veggies were sweet, smokey and just yum! We also ordered 1/2lb of the King Crab legs and they were pre-cut opened up and full of butter so delish! For dessert we took recommendation of our waitress and got the special it was a Raspberry chocolate ganache thingy that was out of this world! It was a pricey lunch but it was all so worth it for everything to be perfect for my wife's special day. We will definitely be back to try more of that amazing menu and for the awesome staff!

We decided to try Brenner's because we were tired of the typical Foods during Fiesta and were hoping for a more upscale dining experience. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing and not worth the price. The food did not live up to our expectations, and the service was even worse. Our server was overbearing and at times borderline rude. One person in our group has mobility issues and clearly asked the sever multiple times not to be touched or assisted while transferring from their mobility device to a chair. Despite this, the server insisted on helping, ignoring the guest's repeated requests. The guest who is typically, quiet and reserved nearly yelled, I asked you not to help me. We ordered the Wagyu porterhouse, but one person in our party specifically said they didn't care for Wagyu due to its high fat content. The server questioned their preference, basically telling them what they were saying was wrong. It came across as argumentative and rude. Causing the guests at the table to feel uncomfortable. When the steak was served, that same guest was given the fattiest pieces. It felt deliberate, passive-aggressive and unnecessary. Although they chose not to make a scene, they made it clear to the others at the table they would not return to Brenner's. Why spend hundreds of dollars to be disrespected? If we were looking for intentionally poor service, we could've gone to Dick's on the Riverwalk and at least had a laugh about it. Instead, we chose what we thought would be a refined, high-end experience --and were let down. If you're on the San Antonio Riverwalk and looking for a decent steakhouse, I recommend crossing the Riverwalk to the one across from Brenner's. The food is just as good, and you won't be mistreated.

Visited this location with my wife while vacationing at the Riverwalk for a weekend trip. This was a short walk from our hotel so can't comment on parking, but the food was top notch. I started with a Carajilo to drink. They made it table side and was quite entertaining. I then had my lobster bisque, perfectly delicious, nice and creamy with the right amount of lobster pieces. Topped it off with the 16 oz ribeye that was like butter, just melted in my mouth. My wife and I shared the Parmesan fries which were more like large potato wedges and equally delicious with a crispy outside and extremely taste sauce. My wife had the braised mole short ribs which she loved. The decor was very nice, kind of a romantic vibe and more upscale than most of the other restaurants along the Riverwalk. I will definitely be back

It was alright. This place is not a local owned restaurant but is part of the Landrys chain. The service was pretty OK and the food was OK as well. I have nothing bad to say but also am not dying to go back.

One of the best steaks I've ever had - DEFINITELY save room for the blueberry cheesecake. If you'd like to enjoy the live music, ask to be seated downstairs. Amazing service, would highly recommend Jael. Salt service is also a great compliment and a lot of fun if in a large group! My in-laws and I ended our family vacation with this meal, and we couldn't have been more satisfied! Will be looking to visit other Brenners locations in the future. Five stars

First time there. Three couples, celebrating two anniversaries and one birthday. We had made a reservation a week or so before and it's highly recommended. We were sat immediately. Our server was attentive and answered all of our questions. Two couples shared the special, 8 Oz filet mignon with an 8 oz lobster tail. Other couple shared the crab cakes with shrimp. We ordered the Au Gratin potatoes. Soo creamy and tons of cheese. Also the green beans. All the side are family size. We seven had some leftover. Desserts were creme brûlée and a little bday cake. Food, desserts and service were excellent. We had some bubbles and wine to toast. Building is nicely decorated. Wish we were able to go once a month.

What happened to come across this place while walking along the Riverwalk stopped to enjoy some cocktails nice ambience right next to the river and they have live music

We made a reservation and we were excited to try Brenner's for the last day of restaurant weeks. We sat at our table for 11 minutes before we were greeted. Our server did apologize but it then took awhile to get our drinks. The passion fruit mojito was good but a tad too sweet for me. We asked about restaurant weeks menu and were informed they didn't have that menu anymore though we weren't informed prior when we made the reservation. We made the most of it and enjoyed the ambiance though it was very hot on the patio. We ordered the tuna poke tacos and crab & lobster rolls to start. Both were delicious though the tuna could have been fresher; the taste was lacking. We also order the sliced Japanese A5 wagyu which you cook on a hot stone. It's served with 4 sauces that you really don't need but I recommend the truffle mustard. The wagyu is so good by itself without sauce. Our miso sea bass came out burned and crispy which we sent back. They prepared another and this one was good. We had the Creme brûlée which tasted off and I am a connoisseur of my favorite dessert. All in all, service was lacking and the food wasn't worth the price. I won't return because there are too many other great restaurants and steak houses in SA that hit the mark every time (J Prime is one of them!).

This is a lovely restaurant on the Riverwalk with Texas-size portions, and excellent service by our server, Destiny. We love how two people can split orders, as we would never be able to eat everything. The quail in a maple syrup glaze was fantastic; the lobster bisque had big chunks of lobster; the lamb chop was juicy; and the mushroom sides boasted three types of mushrooms. Darling Destiny brought us a beautiful crème Brulé for dessert with a candle to celebrate our anniversary. It was the perfect evening, watching the boats go by and people-watching.

I had such a lovely dinner at Brenner's! This has such a romantic and chic vibe perfect for date night! Every bite was delicious and the staff was kind and helpful! We will be back for sure!

Food was fantastic. My husband and I were here for dinner three days straight. And we had the best bartender/server/concierge for all three days. One word...Anna. And especially being on the river walk was the icing on the cake.

Perfect and amazing! The location, the food, the ambience, the people, everything came together for a very special meal for a very special lady. Could not have been happier with the food and the quality. It was a very peaceful and celebrated evening. Thank you so very much.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our visit to Brenner's Steakhouse was extremely disappointing. I took my husband here for his birthday, expecting a special evening like we've experienced at other high-end steakhouses. Instead, no one even acknowledged his birthday despite it being on the reservation. We ordered the bread service, crab cake, 16oz ribeye, Brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, and a bottle of wine. The only thing worth it was the bread. The ribeye was overcooked and lacked flavor, the sides were bland, and the crab cake was forgettable. To make things worse, there were large horseflies flying around the restaurant. One even landed in my water. The waitress took my glass but offered no real apology--just blamed the flies on people coming through the door, as if that made it acceptable. For the price and the reputation, this entire experience was far below expectations. Slow, inattentive service, mediocre food, no recognition for a special occasion, and horseflies in the dining room? We won't be back.

We went to this place for dessert and the Crème Brûlée was the biggest dish I've ever seen served. It was absolutely delicious! The staff seemed tired because it was late and forgot part of my order. We sat in the bar which was quiet and great for a night out. Now the bread pudding should never be served again. It was over cooked and the caramel was burnt. The safe took it off the bill but didn't recommend another option or agree to remake it. I still can't get that burnt caramel taste out of my mind.

Solid steak house choice on the riverwalk. Can't say its spectacular. Can't say it sucks. Streaks were a bit cold but not enough to send it back. Good selection of sides. Drinks are the good as well. You won't be dissapointed, but you won't be thrilled either.9

Recently had dinner/supper, Wednesday night, at Brenner's on the San Antonio Riverwalk. I found the atmosphere to be louder than I expected due to the music coming from the area, large group seated next to us and the limited interior space of the restaurant. Service was "ok" but could have been better. Steak was taste. Sides were very good. In my humble opinion, I found the food "good", the site loud and the service adequate. Will try a different steak house next time I am in SA or may give this one another try???

This is a great restaurant nestled alongside the San Antonio River-walk. They have a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating; some right on the banks of the canal. We dined here last week (Dec 2024) and enjoyed the gorgeous views of the canal which was lit up with tons of colorful lights and holiday decor. We found the service to be decent and on par with other riverwalk restaurants: friendly and semi-attentive. The food was amazing. My wife and I decided to try their bisque, then split the Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon and choose sides we both enjoy. Excellent dinner and no leftovers to take with us. Perfect serving size (for us). There are a few fine dining options in the area. We found this one to be perfect for our trip!

We loved this place. Been meaning to go back for brunch. We went for dinner during the week which was a slow night but still was very pleasant and they had live music. Service and food was fantastic.

We went to Brenners yesterday for a birthday dinner. Joseph our waiter was amazing funny, attentive, and he got the artist to sing happy birthday! Malcolm the manager came over to help with our food order. Great atmosphere, great food, amazing service, and we loved the live music. 5 stars across the board

Baked oysters were delicious Cream spinach was also delicious Service was very good. Hostess accommodation. Waiter and waitress were nice and pleasant. I got seated on the balcony so I could watch the Texas Cavalier's River parade.

I ate at Brenner's per the suggestion of my hotel. Whike the food was excellent and the service very good; I have to remove stars for one main reason. When I asked my server if they had a certain bourbon in stock, she checked with the bar and told me they did. What I wasn't told was that they did not stock the exact one I asked about, Elijah Craig Small Batch. When I received the bill I was shocked to see that I had been charged $96 for a double bourbon on the rocks. The normal cost should have been between $25 and $35. Instead I was charged for Elijah Craig 18 Year, which I never would have ordered as I know what it costs.

Always good steaks, but the prices are outrageous. $315 for a seafood tower and terrible service. Another great restaurant that Fertitta screwed up. Sitting at the bar was more like social hour for the staff. Heard about who is dating who, who has a new haircut, even saw two of the staff kissing plus every other high school issue that was going on. One of the bartenders was injured and bleeding behind the bar. This all went on in front of the regional GM. What a joke

Brenner's on the River Walk might be the best steakhouse in the river walk area! I usually don't tend to dine anywhere at the River Walk because most of the restaurant in there are tourist traps with overpriced food. However, after reading all the amazing reviews from Brenner's I decided to give this restaurant a chance. I came here on a weekday in the evening and was able to find seating without a reservation. The building itself is a work of art and love the details in their outdoor patio. To start, we tried the steak tartar which is wagyu beef in brioche with black garlic aioli. The wagyu melted in your mouth and loved how to black garlic aioli was subtled and not very overwhelming. As a main dish I decided to go with the center cut filet mignon with the port wine demi-glace. The meat was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The port wine was good, but I think I could've done it without it. Also, the port wine was enough to share between two people, so if someone else in your party wants to try it there is no need to order a second one. For sides we tried the roasted mushroom and au gratin potatoes. Both of them were absolutely delicious and so filling! Last but not least, the service at the restaurant was outstanding. Our waiter explained all the menu and constantly kept checking on us. They also had someone playing in the piano who was amazing. Overall a five stars experience and would 100% come back.

The menu, food and the interior looked great on yelp. When we arrived on a Friday night at 9pm we were the only table in the restaurant. That should have made me think twice. The food was way overpriced for the quality. Our server was super friendly but the service took almost 2 hours for 2 people only getting apps and mains.

Great spot, great food. Got a table right on the water to get the real river walk experience. The food was delicious. Got a cold dish seafood tower and the presentation was stunning! The seafood was delicious. The steaks were also very flavorful. The sides were a little small for the price but still very good. I did dress up because I saw there was a dress code but when I got there I saw it was not enforced.

Wonderful experience seated near the window with a view. We've dined here a few times and always had a great meal. This time it was really outstanding. Jose was our server and I can't say enough about his level of service and his obvious love of his role in hospitality. Cocktails were superb, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp (as suggested by Jose) were amazing, the 10oz. center cut filets were cooked to the perfect temperature - very flavorful. Definitely our "go to" on the River Walk.

Ok here we have a 16oz USDA Prime Ribeye, with Truffle Butter, cooked medium rare. Sides were roasted mushrooms and sour cream potato puree. The food was amazing. That steak is probably in the top 3 steaks I have had. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We sat on the upper balcony over looking the river walk which provided a fun ambiance. The restrooms were clean and had very good quality paper towels to dry hands with. They get 4 stars because, although we were fortunate to have a good crowd next to us at the adjoining restaurant, that restaurant is Dicks last resort and the people there tend to get very rowdy. Personally, I think a steak house this good should have chosen a better spot. That being said, I will still go back here anytime I can.

Came here for dinner with colleagues. First of all, the location is amazing, and the ambience is fantastic. We sat in the patio right next to the Riverwalk, with piano playing live all night. It was a really nice experience. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. Our food took a long time to arrive and it was not that great. I had the salmon and it was dry, my colleague had the filet mignon and he said it did not taste that great and was undercooked. We were also disappointed since the sides were supposed to be "large portions" but they were very small. We waited for so long that we did not want to wait longer, so we ate our main course and were pretty hungry afterwards. I would be willing to try again maybe not on a day when it's so busy to see if we can get served a little bit quicker.

The experience my family had at Brenner's was amazing. After arriving 10 minutes ahead of our reservation, we were seated promptly. The first thing you notice in this restaurant is the ambiance. This is the perfect place for an upscale dinner, with paintings adorning stone walls and ambient lighting. We all ordered an 8 oz. Filet Mignon, to which I added truffle butter (delightful), and split some gourmet Au gratin potatoes. Steak was cooked to perfection with a nice flavorful char. We also ordered bread service, which included 4 delicious bread options, and two house-made butter selections. All food was served in a timely manner, hot, and fresh. Refills were provided speedily. You will not regret coming to Brenner's. It's worth it. 100%

I checked this place out online and loved the photos. Very upscale relaxed vibe. Casual seems okay here from what I saw. The food was amazing and delicious and the only thing that went right. Service here was terrible. Waited for five minutes before the waiter showed up. When we finally got water it was warm no ice, gross. Ordered a bottle of wine. The waiter brought it out and then left with it. When he returned I assumed it had been opened. I soon realized he didn't even open the bottle of wine. Why am I opening my own bottle of wine at a high-end steakhouse?? Ordered the steak medium well, you can see how pink it is in the photo. The most annoying part was the waiter didn't even ask if the steak was cooked properly. I understand it can't always be perfect but at least pretend you care like it was cooked right. Waited for another 10 minutes just to get my check. Do not go here, save your money and go somewhere else. I spent $200 and could've gotten better service at Longhorn for half the cost.

Well, I always write a review, no matter where we go, so even though I am extremely disappointed writing this, I feel compelled to. First, I will say that the waitress was very sweet and very knowledgeable about what she was serving. I will also tell you that my husband thoroughly enjoyed his ribeye. Now... What was missing tonight, especially when trying a restaurant that averages between $50 and $70 per entrée?... The attention to detail lacked sorely. The Bang Bang shrimp appetizer may had tasted fine, but it was drowned in a heavily done Sriracha/mayo sauce, so no real flavor over that was detected. It was drowned so badly, that you really could not even see the color of the breading or even decipher differences in the flavors. Then came my entrée. I was very interested in the snapper; however, I was told that they were out of it... So that left me choosing the salmon. I asked the waitress if she would make sure that the salmon was not prepared with any butter or oil, but it when it came to the table, it was almost like it had been dunked prior to plating. I know many restaurants that do this for flavor, but she had assured me it would not happen, and it was literally a bowl of oil. The sweet potatoes/quinoa that accompanied the salmon was also doused heavily, and it was hard to taste anything other than the fat that was used to prepare it. Overall, for the price, the restaurant lacked. I was so sad! I didn't even eat, but one bite of my salmon and one bite of my side, and the waitress never took notice of it, but just took the plates after most of the food was actually left on them. Outside of the price of the steak, we wasted at least $100... We don't come to San Antonio much, but when we do, we try to research and find the very best, but for our last night here, this left us disappointed.

Service was 5 stars and food was 5 stars. Easily the best fine dining restaurant in San Antonio

Service was fantastic! The food was nearly inedible. We ordered the 10oz filet mignon well, we got medium rare and had to send it back; ordered the 16oz porter house medium, got very well done almost jerky, along with the sour cream potatoes, which were okay, but the asparagus was cold upon delivery! This is not acceptable for a $282 bill!

The service and staff were amazing! Food was cooked to perfection! The only complaint is that it was chilly outside and inside the restaurant the AC was blowing so cold that it was a bit uncomfortable. We (6 of us at table - all freezing) asked for the air to be adjusted but was told once it's set they can't change it. Not sure if it's because it's set from HQ, but be prepared. Other than that it was delicious and a great go to when on the River Walk.

Arrived from the street access. Check in hostess down the stairs. Bar and piano river level. SERVICE variety of bread if wanted with two types of butter AMBIANCE one tv no audio did show the game big plus.horseshoe full bar. PIANO MUSICIAN singing and playing river level APPETIZER shrimp bang bang MAIN COURSE ny strip 8oz cooked to perfection and as asked. Salmon with tzatziki's dressing. Au gratin potatoes family style side. Mac and cheese twist noodles al dente family style. BEVERAGES - water sparkling still or spring or filter HATSOFF TO THE CHEF! Celeste is an amazing art her job! Manager Jonathan came over to check in on us. Very attentive.

I'm going to separate this into two reviews. First. We are not from San Antonio. We were here to visit our son who was here in a training class for the military. It was 97° and humid. I made reservations several days ago, as it was Saturday during Father's Day weekend. Let me set the stage by saying my husband is a 20 year Marine and 10 year police officer. He doesn't go anywhere nice without being starched and creased. Same with my son. We were dressed very nice. My husband and adult son both had button-down dress shirts on, and slacks. I was in a work suit and heels. (To be transparent, the suit was long shorts and not pants, but it was Dolce and Gabbana.) The young hostess takes us all the way downstairs. Past the beautiful first and second floors with linen tablecloths and ambience. Down to the small, casual bar, and starts to take us outside. I comment that it's 97° and we would prefer not to sit outside. So she seats us in a very casual bar area. No tablecloths, something akin to outback steakhouse. I told her that we had a reservation for the steakhouse and that we would prefer to sit upstairs. Additionally, the bar area is wide open floor to ceiling. So the bar is also roughly 95° inside. She tells us that they have a dress code. So we ask what the dress code is because we are dressed very nicely. She looks at us for a minute like a deer in the headlights, and then says, no open toed shoes. I had on Jimmy Choo peep toe high heel shoes. It's not like I was wearing flip-flops. So we sit there in the bar, sweating, and wondering if we just get up and leave or what we should do. At this point, I am not happy, and I know that we're there to have a $400 meal to celebrate my amazing husband and father of my boys. This is not a great way to start. I'm certainly not going to do it sweating my butt off. Literally 10 minutes later, we flagged down our waitress who says, I didn't know you were eating here, most people sit in the bar just to have a drink. That was the last straw. So my husband asks to see the manager and asks him if there's any possibility that we can sit somewhere other than the 95° bar. He says absolutely, apologizes profusely for the hostess putting us down there, and takes us upstairs to the real restaurant. Review part two: The manager takes us upstairs to a lovely restaurant. Vincenzo is our waiter, and he is absolutely fabulous. The service from start to finish was absolutely impeccable. We started with bang bang shrimp, a crab cake, and the bread service. The shrimp was spicy and crispy and delicious. The crabcake had chunks of lump crab and was super tasty. The pretzel rolls were warm and yummy, and came with two kinds of butter. My husband got the bone in ribeye rare, I had the American Wagyu filet mignon rare, my son had the 10oz filet mignon medium rare. We also ordered au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and the salt service. All of our meat was perfectly cooked. The potatoes were rich and creamy and delicious. Asparagus was crispy and lovely. The salts were the perfect touch to take those steaks to the next level. We had some lovely red wine that accompanied our meal perfectly. And we finished with the crème brûlée and berries. Fortunately, we were able to recover from the unprofessional beginning to our experience, and have a lovely celebration. Dinner was $409 before tip and worth every penny.

One of the best steaks I've had in San Antonio! Loved the NY Strip steak and the recommended creamed spinach. Awesome service and they were so nice and made us feel special for my mother's birthday. They have a beautiful lady with an awesome voice singing while you eat too! Love the view as well, able to sit on the patio and people-watch along the Riverwalk. Can't wait to go back!

Great dinner. John has an incredible host for our family with three young girls. Dinner was perfect and as ordered. We did manners lessons for the children and the Brenner's team were great hosts. Great music, food, and service. A great experience in comparison to every other restaurant in every big city. But, with a San Antonio touch. Future family favorite. Thank you for hosting us this evening.

Last minute date night and we had a great table on the balcony. Fun people watching while enjoying some quality drinks and food. Ask for Connor, he's pretty damn good at his job.

the food was amazing, but the service took it over the top for me!! destinee took care of me and my 2 girlfriends. she was attentive and sweet. very knowledgeable!!!! will be coming back and requesting her to take care of us again. malcom the manager came to the table many times to check up on us. very professional, made sure we enjoyed ourselves. thank you to him as well! the lady singing on the piano downstairs set such a wonderful ambiance for the entire restaurant, didn't catch her name but made sure to tip her cash! beautiful voice.
