Absolutely wonderful place to stay for the price! Keyless/contact-free access. Nicely done rooms, comfortable bed, quiet location, cute outdoor patio area. It's in a great location, close enough to the city and shopping or dining - added bonus being able to see the track across the street and horses working out first thing in the morning is a neat experience you won't get anywhere else! Would definitely stay again!

I stayed for one night on Mother's Day Weekend. After having a small issue resolved, the host was extremely accommodating. ||There was a brief moment prior to the Pandemic when motels were turned into boutique stays. The Brentwood was one of them. The rooms are welcoming, comfortable, and clean. The walls are a bit thin; there were friends in the next room over who sounded like they were getting caught up on all the gossip. No bother, they shut it down and it got quiet.||The location is tough to beat. Consider this: The Saratoga horse track is promptly across the street. I think it's turn two of the track that is directly across from the hotel. On the other street corner is the Horseshoe Inn, a great little restaurant with decent food and drinks. There is a Mexican restaurant behind the Brentwood, but I did not try it. As I packed up early Saturday morning, the jockeys came by atop their race horses, casually clop-clopping their way past the hotel on the way to the track. ||I did have misgiving about the place based on other reviews, but here's what I found: the innkeeper did respond in a timely manner (she lives up the street). I did book via a third party site, but it was as if I did it through Brentwood's page with information. The keyless entry system was a bit of a learning curve. I struggled with it. There was another guest who struggled with it, too. This, too, was resolved.||The bar was not open during my stay, but don't forget, the Horseshoe is across the street. The place could use a little tidying; the saggy Christmas lights and dilapidated corn hole boards could really be tossed. I would have given the experience four stars, but the innkeeper really went above and beyond to help my one-night stay that I booked through a third party site. I would definitely come back and use the Brentwood again.

I like this place. The room was spacious. It has a refrigerator and a nice bed. Parking was easy just outside the room. The WiFi was working flawlessly. This place has no open reception. You need to communicate digitally and get a code to your door by e-mail or text. If that code stops working, you will probably feel a bit deserted. Price was favorable. I'd probably stay here again, should I return to this part of the world.

Great intimate artisanal hotel. Everything is virtual and remote, so there is no check-in desk. Make sure you have the appropriate details prior to checking in. I booked on a 3rd party site, so we did not receive the details to get into our PIN coded rooms. I called and they responded within 30-45 min, which was fine. We came end of March so none of the services were available, no bar or fire pit. Rooms are quaint, nice and clean. Location right next to the tracks and close to the Saratoga scene.

Hubby and I booked online and stayed a night. Hubby wasn't happy with the check in process. But, it all worked out. When you pull in (we got there late at night). It was very dark. Almost creepy, but the room was very clean. The location was great. Bed was very comfortable. So definitely inside was better than outside! We got to see horses trot by in the morning that I enjoyed. Also checkin was easy. We would suggest calling the number and not checking in online.

Cute spot in a perfect location if you’re there for the track or casino. |We love the bathroom! It was gorgeous and the body wash, shampoo & conditioner smelled heavenly. ||I would definitely stay here again!|The only negatives were it was a little dusty and could use a good amount of paint touch ups on the interior. But we’re here in February, so I’m sure they’ll get that done before their busy season opens back up.

Google
This Hotel over charge me and in there policy says no refunds witch you should be able to get you're refund back if it's free cancellation now if fighting them to get my over 400.00 dollars back so I recommend not to rent from this hotel to anyone one and I cancelled about with in a hour after I booked it because after all said and done she told me 400.00 and online it was listed 288.00 a night so I was over charge for one night one bed 2 adults so they like to over charge people so now I fighting to get my refund back that's if they refund my over 400.00 if I where gonna stay we better be treated like royaltys for that kind of a price I would have to rate this Hotel it would be a Zero.

I really didn't want to write this review. From 2018-2021, we made about 5 visits to the Brentwood. It was great. The staff was amazing. The bar was so good. Always met new people to chat with. Staff was exceptional. Went this past WKnd, Oct 18-20th and oh man, this isn't the Brentwood I remember. ||I'll start with the good:|-Grounds are still nice|-Room was clean, bed comfortable (just like we remember)|-wifi worked||Bad:|No Staff! I miss the brass key you'd get when checking in but completely understand that times change. But this online check in with the code is hot garbage. We received the code about 230pm on check in day. But to our surprise, no staff was at the bar. In fact, bar was closed. Something that I didn't see on the website. Wtf?! |Gone are the little things that made the Brentwood so nice. No leather catchall when you walk in, the aforementioned brass key, no fire pit (it was there but no logs). Staff is only on site from "9-3" but when we left at 930am on Sunday no one was around. No heat in the room although we did find the space heater in the cupboard with the fridge. I don't remember us ever having to use a space heater before in previous stays (all except one were in mid-to-late October). ||This place is honestly just a glorified air b&b now. It pains me to write this and I hope the owners read it and change what they're doing to what it used to be. As of right now, we have no intention of going back which a damn shame.

Yelp
We've stayed here a few times. I think it's slipping a bit. Check in is all virtual which is not totally efficient. It took me a bunch of tries and I ended up getting frustrated. Rooms are small. Clean but not as nice as years ago. Towels are thin. No lotion. No plastic bags. Be careful of leaving the door open while you bring your luggage in. You'll end up with a few flies. We were able to kill a few so they didn't sleep with us. There's no one on sight but they do give you a phone number if needed. There's a great restaurant across the street. But be sure to check the hours there before you plan. It's pet friendly so there's that. Decent but I think we will seek other options next time

Yelp
PROS: Location! its away from the loud music and people from the main strip. situated at the lower end of saratoga horse track. Water pressure was perfect with ample hot water. Private parking for guests only so you can park right in front of your room. Pet friendly which was the main reason we stayed here (fees applied). CONS: Bar was closed when we visited. It looked so cool inside. Maybe next time. Bed was the worst for my back. Its very plush and many people like that but it was too plush for me. bad night sleep the first night. The AC was very noisy the weekend we went bc it was 80 degrees out in mid april. Also you can hear everything outside; people talking, car doors slamming etc. Overall i would return when the races start. very pet friendly town with friendly folks.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my stay. I'm a small person so I enjoyed the quaint space. My husband, although he liked his stay too, prefers a bit bigger space - everyone has different opinions! It was clean and neat. I appreciated the easy check in/check out process. The hotel manager remained communicative regarding the icy conditions in the driveway. The fire pit is a great perk, and the bar offers tasty drinks. The room was very affordable on an off-peak weekend in the middle of winter. Important to note: in a king sized room, we did not have control of the heat. It was definitely nice and warm, but we actually prefer a cooler room for sleeping so we cracked open the windows which helped. The parking lot isn't huge. We got back after dinner one night and it took awhile to figure out the best place to put our vehicle. There was a lot of snow, so imagine during warmer months the parking lot isn't much of an issue. It is a prime spot for the racetrack. You can see the track from the hotel! The staff was wonderful.

Yelp
0. Cute on the exterior but nasty. Shower curtain liner is gross. They don't even have a bottom sheet or a top sheet. How can you call yourself a. Hotel without proper sheets? Save yourself the 600$ and sleep in your car

Yelp
Customer Service Its off season, COVID is a thing right now, staffing (As it was reiterated to us) is minimal--maybe this was the cause for lack of good accommodating service/management? Contactless check-in, zero explanation of room amenities. They advertise/market bike rentals, smore kits, record playing (they own outdoor speakers even if the bar was in fact closed) coffee on their website and social media platforms for incentives to visiting their establishment--were we supposed to inquire with the bartender as she was the only person on-site during our 2 night stay? Were we supposed to ask during booking reservations? I'm confused who to speak to and when the appropriate time is as there was only 1 person on staff running the bar. Very confusing and frustrating. We felt we were more of a bother than an actual guest. Room Beds are damn comfortable, Clean, minimalistic, scandinavian modern decor. The Bathroom is small and dark, there's no window and there's very low lighting. The rooms are just big enough to hold a bed and some room to move around it, but that's generally it. There was 1 wooden chair and a tiny round table. What you see in photos is what you get, don't expect anything grander. WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. You can hear everything being said/done. Not just from outside, but from rooms down. We got no sleep at night or in the morning as there was a child in the room next to ours and late nights from people hanging in the patio area. I can't imagine wha the noise level is like when racing season is in full swing--yikes. THERES NO THERMOSTAT! AC or Heat. We found a space heater next to the fridge. We searched high and low a nob on the wall or any indication that we could adjust the temp particularly for the AC as the temp outside was 80 that day--but found nothing. Your guess is as good as ours was. We slept hot and without covers. Conclusion is the temp is 100% controlled. Location A stones throw and i mean "feet" in distance to the Saratoga Racing track. The surrounding land is acres and acres of stables and housing for the track activities. We visited during the off-season and even with the lack of people, the cars driving back and forth down the street are distracting. The property is kitty cornered on a residential street and side street for the racing track and casino. Ambiance They heavily advertise their bar service as well as the fire pit. Bar operating hours 12:00P - 11:00P. During our visit we were told bar service runs until 8, fire runs until 8. She (Bartender) clocks out at 8. First night the fire ran for two hours and the second the fire pit wasn't lit the entire day. IF THE FIRE & DRINKS are added incentives for your visit. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND their hours change frequently and without notice. You need to poke at them for your amenities as they don't go out of their way to make these things known. If you don't ask for the fire, it won't get lit. If you want water, tea--it comes with a cost. And the fire can only be started/distinguished by a staff member during their operational hours. During our visit here we learned Governor Andrew Cuomo initiated an executive order to mandate that food must be sold with alcohol at bars and restaurants. If you want a drink, a snack must be purchased by every person. If you have 5 ppl in your party, that's 5 snack orders on top of your beverages. I get the reasoning, but this is frustrating when traveling to the state and get added costs to your travels. Conclusion We played so many guessing games here. Came from out of state only to learn that everyone appears tired, run down, unfriendly and annoyed. SO many things made zero sense. How are you supposed to relax/enjoy your stay and get what you pay for when management/service is non existent. I've been routed to e-mail them concerns--have done just that and have yet to receive acknowledgment. *Insert deep breaths* This was my present to my boyfriend, I paid damn good money for our visit and felt utterly embarrassed by the experience. I haven't apologized so much in one night--as if this was my doing? Needless to say--we won't be back, I won't be hyping them up. Im tired. They need to do better. Dear owners, maybe it's time to reevaluate whether or not running an Inn business is for you. If you don't give a hoot then don't expect to have happy repeat customers. Goodluck to future travelers.

Yelp
Do not use the Brentwood "Hotel" (which is really nothing more than a seedy motel). We booked a room suitable to bring our small, 17 pound dog. We were in the room from 10 pm to about 9 am, and our dog was never alone in the room. Four hours after we left and had returned to Connecticut, we received a text from the hotel falsely stating that our dog had damaged a "custom made" duvet cover. Not only did our dog not damage the duvet cover or anything else in the room, there was nothing special about the duvet cover or the furnishings. The hotel simultaneously charged our card $150 for the alleged damage. This appears to be scam perpetrated against those coming from out of town. Avoid this establishment like the plague.

Yelp
Could not love this place more! They really scored extra points by having a doggie goodie bag and bowls for my service pet. Rob was reachable the whole time and did everything to help with us. Accommodated getting us extra towels, toiletries, etc without any issue. Started a fire for us when the weather permitted and even hung out with us for a chat. We loved it so much, we are coming back in a few weeks!

Joe G.

Yelp
The Brentwood looks can be deceiving. From the outside it looks like a motel. But, you can tell the owners have invested in this motel looking establishment. The rooms are clean and quaintly decorated. The bathroom and shower seem to be remodeled and the shower is nice and big. There are no dressers or closets as mentioned in other reviews but that was no big deal for me. Most importantly, I'd say the bed(s) are (in my opinion) the most comfortable I've slept in away from home in quite a while. There is a little bar in the check in area where they offer coffee every morning, but with The Horseshoe literally right across the street, drinks and a good time aren't far away. In fact, the location is ideal in relation to Saratoga Race Course. The Brentwood is on the backside of the track where trainers and horses literally walk by the motel every morning whether to workout or race. The Saratoga course main entrance is also a short walk away. There is a small fire pit outside the rooms where I saw some guests drinking wine and relaxing while watching the outdoor party at The Horseshoe. Intown Saratoga is just an Uber ride away and transportation is easily accessible. I stumbled upon an Italian Restaurant called Pennell's only 1/2 mile away which was outstanding to say the least. I was here on a guys weekend, so I can't speak to how a "family" stay would be received, but for me it was a great room in a great location resulting in a great time.

Emma I.

Yelp
Lovely stay at this hippified motor inn, designed by the post company. Wonderful details in the room, including extremely comfortable beds! Loved all the thoughtful amenities as well, from the shower products to the coffee. Although you won't find a typical hotel style reception desk, we appreciated both the smooth digital approach and the personal touch. Marcus and team are passionate about their work and it shows! Loved the chill, intimate bar and outdoor patio area -- not to mention the top-notch well curated music and vibes. Dog friendly (the doggy welcome kit was a delight) and the location can't be beat. Hip, minimal, well-designed. What more could you need for a Saratoga getaway?

Michelle M.

Yelp
Such a quaint and comfortable place to stay. Seriously across from the race track. Was able to watch the horses in the morning. Bed was amazing comfortable. Front desk was nice and friendly. Enjoyed the outdoor fire in the evening with the hostess. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Megan D.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stayed for one night on our way from New York to Burlington. We got off to a late start and arrived close to 11pm. The small team who run the hotel were easy to reach and let us know they would leave the reservation desk open for us to check-in. Upon arrival, we were instantly charmed by the location and aesthetic of the hotel. A once small, L-shape, side-of-the-road motel was turned into a beautiful boutique hotel right next to the race track. We didn't spend too much time in the bar but every detail was thought through: the branded coasters, the horse wallpaper in the bathroom, everything was beautiful! We got a King Size room and it was perfect for the night. The bed and sheets were amazing, definitely one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. The bathroom was stocked with C.O. Bigelow products and the shower was hot with good water pressure. The next morning, we woke up and headed to the bar/reservation room for coffee and great conversation with Rob, one of the managers of the hotel. He had great recommendations for our short stay in Saratoga Springs. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a short stay. It's beautiful, comfortable, warm and cozy. I hope I get the chance to stay here again!

Haley A.

Yelp
A Must stay! Everything about this place is amazing. Upscale finishes and cozy elegant rooms with a small town feel. The staff is super friendly and woke to fresh homemade muffins and hot coffee. The Race Track is 10 feet away & you have a clear view of the horses from the surrounding barn passing by. Simply amazing!

Sarah L.

Yelp
Well designed, conveniently located, and stellar service - came here during the week for a getaway from the city and had an amazing time! We ended up staying an extra night and went skiing in Gore, an extra hour north. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was beautiful - the whole place was clean, quiet, and the front desk host had great recommendations for things to do/places to eat in the areas. So accommodating and relaxing, we'll be back!!

Kim J.

Yelp
Looking for a nights lodging before heading to Albany. Stumbled on this very unassuming little hideaway. A little bit pricey for the very small accommodations, but clean and courteous staff make it a value.

Natasha T.

Yelp
This was a wonderful little hotel! We loved our stay and they made it easy to accommodate our dog as they are a very pet friendly hotel. Love the way that your stay comes with a welcome drink. Definitely plan to come back soon!

Rich J.

Yelp
If you're near Saratoga Springs, any time of year, I can't recommend this hotel enough. The hotel bar was great, fantastic negroni. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Getting to the track was as easy walking out my door. We can't wait to stay at the Brentwood again soon.

Elisa B.

Yelp
Such a wonderful boutique hotel in a great location. Close enough to everything yet still feels tucked away. Across the street from the track. The horses walk right past the hotel to practice in the am. Stayed in room #6 - Super comfortable king bed with quality linens, pillows and towels. Big shower. Very clean. Can best be described as simple elegance. Quality little details make this hotel stand out. Friendly accommodating staff. Small community fire pit. Loved it! Will definitely be back.

Megan F.

Yelp
Where do I begin? I was in LOVE with the Brentwood. I read about it in a New Times write up... it is the perfect boutique hotel for a weekend getaway. Molly at check-in was fabulous and so welcoming. No detail was overlooked with hotel design. The location is perfect just steps away from the track. The bed was like a little slice of heaven - the sheets were so divine I had to ask where they were purchased so I could get them for my own home. I will most definitely be back.

Emily V.

Yelp
Super cute hotel, great location and wonderful staff. Exceptional service. Love that you get to see all the horses walk by. Easy walk to downtown.

Dave S.

Yelp
Can't speak for the rooms as we were not guests however when stopping into the bar for a drink we were very surprised by the attitude of the employee at the bar who seemed annoyed by us being there. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend.

Michael T.

Yelp
Nice staff and reasonably priced rooms but not quite ready for prime time. The Wi-Fi wasn't working, a problem I also see noted in a review from 11 months ago. The rooms are tiny with no dresser or closet. The TV is also tiny which is strange given how cheap TVs are and the TV wiring snakes across the wall like it's a new form of hotel art. The wall unit A/C was very loud as was the ceiling fan. Opening the window for ventilation is an option only for exhibitionists as doing so gives anyone walking past outside a direct view of the bed and is occupants. The bathrooms are constructed so that the water from the shower runs all over the bathroom floor. Additionally, the shower seat was pulling loose from the wall and the handle fell off when I turned the shower on. If you want to be across the street from the race track, this is the place to be. Otherwise there are better options, though likely more expensive.

Ben M.

Yelp
Our stay for a weekend getaway was fantastic. Ed and the staff were great hosts, good recommendations, and an awesome boutique hotel experience. Really recommend it to anyone!!

Nick G.

Yelp
Everything was excellent. The room, atmosphere, outside is also adorable with the fire pit, seating, and a tree swing! Everything is pretty much new. The staff are second to none

kelly d.

Yelp
Awesome gem close to the track. Lovely decor, friendly proprietors, and a cozy cocktail bar on site. Great splurge while visiting the races.

Mary Ann G.

Yelp
This is one of the most charming and beautiful places I've ever stayed. It's off season for Saratoga so it was exceptionally quiet, which was AWESOME. We had a nice, quiet, middle of the week stay and it was wonderful. The rooms are small but so beautiful! Bathroom was gorgeous, bed was super comfy, and the staff was so great. The gentleman running the show during the daytime was so warm and friendly, offering to accommodate us in any way that he could. We will definitely be returning here in the future, already can't wait to go back!

Hayley B.

Yelp
This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, and have great details that make it feel special. The owner and team who run the place are amazing- they could not be friendlier or more helpful. We pulled up to the hotel where there was a fire in the fire raging and offered a drink. It is very close to downtown Saratoga as well as steps from the racetrack. Also- great soap selection and smells. We had 3 kids with us and the horses and front bench area provided the space and entertainment to keep them busy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Kristen V.

Yelp
We loved the location and the staff! However, we were disappointed that the room had no dresser so we could unpack. It appears as though it use to be an older motel that was revamped to try and be upscale. We could easily walk to the Saratoga Race Track, which was wonderful. We also liked that there was a small fridge where we could store our own drinks. The two desk/bartenders are great and very friendly. We don't know about housekeeping since we had the "do not disturb" on our door from 10:30am to noon and our room was never cleaned. We did not like that our suitcases had to serve as a place for our clothes, the clock/radio was actually just a radio, no closet, no place in the bathroom to set a dop kit. Our wifi did not work, but we used our phone and didn't say anything to try and resolve the problem. We would stay again, but hope that they make changes to make the stay more comfortable.
