"Under the same ownership as Cail Bruich is this small, long-standing wine bar with a compact terrace. The dining room features a large counter wrapped around the kitchen where chefs are busy cooking on the open grills. The menu comprises around 15 simply cooked dishes which showcase the breadth of Scotland’s larder; if you get the chance, the mushroom XO linguini is a must. Natural wines accompany, and there's a relaxed, welcoming feel to the place." - Michelin Inspector

We absolutely loved dining at Brett! Seated at the kitchen counter, we had a front-row view of the chefs in action, which made the evening even more special. The food was outstanding, and whilst having excellent wine options, they also offer great non-alcoholic choices! Greats service - warm and welcoming staff! Thank you!

Really great experience. Food and wine were excellent and creative, staff lovely and attentive, and it’s a really lovely atmosphere throughout. Perfect place for an anniversary dinner!

Went there for dinner and it was outstanding. The food was immaculate and the service was attentive, knowledgeable and personal. As a solo diner I would recommend the Kitchen counter seating. If I come back to Glasgow I will be back!

I'm so glad I got a last minute table here! From the warm welcome from Topher (fab Front of House maestro), through to finding a comfy seat for me on the mezzanine (the fixed position counter stools were no good for me and my wonky knees!), and friendly efficient service throughout, I felt really at home here. The a la carte menu was inventive and delicious; next time I'll do the tasting menu! The wine pairings were also interesting and unusual, but hit the spot. And the espresso martini was the best I've had! Well worth a visit!

This restaurant is part of the Cail Bruich, Shucks group. Therefore you are expecting a high quality meal before you arrive. They did not disappoint! The menu is short but they regularly change it ( my daughter had been a few weeks earlier and some dishes were different). All the options at our table were excellent. From our table you could see the kitchen preparing the food, so much care was taken for each dish. The looks and taste of the dishes reflected this care. We will be back.

Absolutely stunning little gem in the heart of Glasgow. Beautifully paired wines, standout service, very tastefully decorated and the food was INCREDIBLE. Perfect crusty bread with smoked butter, delicious beet appetizer, and the most exquisite duck. After dinner coffee was smooth and rich, a perfect end to the meal.

Had dinner on a Friday night and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We tried the sourdough crouton appetiser with olive and anchovie, chicken wings and clams, the beetroot and blackberry and the special which was a 45 day aged sirloin steak with cafe de paris butter and the potatoes and cabbage sides. The food was incredible, every single dish was 10/10 but the steak was the star it was pretty special and big enough for two people to share. We also tried the strawberry sorbet with creme freche and the and the whisky coffee liqueurs. Service was excellent and we sat at the counter and you're able to watch the chefs do their thing right in front of you. It's not a gimmick like a lot of restaurants were the just assemble the food in front of you that's been cooked out of sight, you really get a front row seat in to workings of a high end kitchen and it was cool to watch. Watching the steak getting seared and cooked on the charcoal grill was a nice touch. There's a good selection of drinks and wine but the wine was very expensive but the price of the food is fair when you see the skill involved and the quality of the produce.

Brett has always been good over the years we’ve been coming here but in the last year the menu has been simplified and it’s really stepped up a gear. It’s now one of the best places in the west end of Glasgow for nice meal, drinks, atmosphere and service. Well worth a visit. P.S. Make sure you try the gilda, mushroom linguine and apple tartin 👌🏻
