Brewbakers Brewing Company (Visalia, CA) June 18, 2023
Brewbakers Brewing Company sits in the heart of Downtown Visalia. We came in on Fathers Day after about a 4 hour drive from Barstow. It was packed when we arrived at about 1:30 PM. It sounded like there would be about a 15 minute wait, so we grabbed a couple chairs at the bar.
Our bartender was attentive and got us menus and took our drink orders quickly. I ordered the tri-tip salad with blue cheese dressing, and my wife ordered the vegetable salad with blue cheese dressing. I got a West Coast IPA and my wife got a glass of Chardonnay. I tried my wife's Chardonnay. It was pretty good, and my West Coast IPA was reasonable. It was a little less hoppy than I prefer, but it definitely passed as a West Coast IPA style.
The food came out pretty quickly. However, they delivered a Cobb salad to my wife instead of the vegetable salad. The server took it back and they restarted my wife's salad. A new bartender showed up right about that time and asked how things were going. We explained to her the situation. She immediately headed back to the kitchen and the next thing we knew she showed up with my wife's salad. That made me feel good. Five stars to her!! Both salads were very good, and very large. They were actually more than that either of us could eat, so we got to-go containers and took them home with us.
This is actually a pretty good size brewery, with both upstairs and downstairs seating. I like the vibe. They have their brew kettles directly behind the bar, so that really gives it an "I'm in the Brewery" kind of feeling. The staff are friendly and the service was good. Their beer selections are fairly limited. They only had about six beers on tap, including a blonde logger, sequoia red, West Coast IPA, a barley wine, apple beer, and Belgian apricot. They had a few other alcoholic drink selections as well. They also do handcrafted root beer, orange soda, and blue raspberry soda.
I'll definitely come back if I'm in town again.
