BrewDog was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I felt it was the most western place we went to while in Tokyo and I almost feel a little bit bad for loving it as much as I did.
BrewDog has a nice variety of beer, which was a breath of fresh air for me. We didn't go out to many bars while I was visiting, but I was disappointed with Kirin, Sapporo, and Asahi being my only choices at every restaurant we went to. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy all three of those Japanese beers quite a bit, but sometimes you want to mix it up, you know?
I had a "This. Is. Lager" and a Hardcore IPA and some fish and chips. It was all excellent. I didn't love the Hardcore IPA as much as the lager, which is consistent with my normal preferences, but it was still enjoyable.
The fish and chips were of exceptional presentation and quality. The fish was flaky and soft, and the chips (potato wedges) were seasoned perfectly. Also, they supply some mixed nuts in the style of British pubs at each table, which I thought was a nice addition to the experience.
Extra points for our "hafu" waitress, who was attentive, friendly, and helpful.
