I came in the establishment jovial and excited to start my mini holiday break. Headed to Los Angeles. I had a two hour layover and decided to grab something to eat.at Brewed.
The hostess was extremely nice. I asked if I could sit at the bar she said yes. When I sit down at the bar, the bartender asked if she could help me. I simply asked to see a drink menu and she said they didn't have one, but they offer a full bar. I said, are you the bartender? She said yes. I said, what is your specialty? What do you like to prepare? I'm looking for something sweet. She said to me, everyone has different taste. I'm not sure what to recommend. From there it went downhill. I ordered my food and as soon as she put the order in about one minute later, I said, "you know what I changed my mind." I would rather have a hamburger. She stated "I already put it in. I said, but the cook has not started preparing my order. I would like to change it to a hamburger. After that, she did not engage with me at all. She never offer me water. When she brought my food, she just put it down. Did ask me if I needed ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise. I asked another waitress to bring me water. She never offered to refill the water. She talk with everyone else. I was heated.
Me being me left a hand written not on a napkin.
"Not sure what I did to upset you. However, you should treat all of your customers the same. I will assume that you're Nonchalant behavior had to do with the previous customer. I was the only African American customer and was the only treated with disrespect. As a customer, I have the right to change my mind, especially since the cook had not started preparing my order. We are all African-American women fighting the same fight. Remember to always uplift your sisters. Although you don't deserve it, I'm wishing you a happy holiday and extending my gratitude in the form of $50.00 tip. Kindness goes a long way "Brittany"
