Where to Celebrate Maple Sugaring Season in New England

"A sultry hotel bar in Boston that offers a select house barrel of bourbon finished with maple, recommended simply over ice to showcase maple's sweet-and-spicy character." - Adam H. Callaghan

Felipe and Dukerne were absolutely amazing tonight! They worked nonstop and handled a very busy bar with ease, was really busy 5-7 pm making sure everyone was taken care of. The service was on point, the energy was great, and my Manhattan was perfect. Huge thanks to both of them for making the night so enjoyable! 🍸👏 please bring back the old manhattan glasses🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 somehow, the owner brought the regular ones and I don’t like them/ Do you know really fit this bar.

Excellent food here! Definitely a bit dim in terms of lighting, but it was a comfortable vibe and the food was excellent. Nice menu with a lot of variety (definitely on the more expensive side though). I would recommend the burger! One of the better ones I’ve had in Boston.

My man brought me here last Friday before a harbor cruise for my birthday. We had the nicest bartender I didn’t catch her name. Her hands were blessed by God himself. Best martini I’ve ever had in my life. All of the staff we spoke with were so unbelievably nice and the place looks way more expensive than it actually is. I don’t remember the amount but we each got 2 drinks and looked at eachother shocked because we were expecting double the bill. Can’t wait to go back !

I didn’t want to review this because, selfishly, I wanted to keep it a secret of sorts and all to myself BUT I have to review if only to commend the exceptional service, atmosphere, and drinks I had here yesterday. First, it’s a gorgeous spot. Antique feel, quiet, dark (hence the name). Something very comforting about being there. You won’t find influencers in here doing Tik Toks, it’s more for a reserved, older crowd. Second, the service. Our server was a wonderful woman whose knowledge of the specials was beyond amazing. She was really attentive, replenishing our complimentary chips and almonds regularly. Third, THE DRINK SELECTION. Pages upon pages of cocktails. Being a huge Scotch fan, the whiskey selection is EXTREME and numerous. Wow. But beyond that, all sorts of speciality cocktails that were so delicious. I ordered the classic champagne cocktail and loved it. If you’re looking for a quiet, classic, comforting, and sophisticated bar, look no further.

I've come here 3 times over the last 8 months and was served by Mary Ellen each time and she is an EXCEPTIONAL server and a consummate professional. Truly passionate about her job and craft of cocktail making and an absolute delight to be around. The drinks are also fabulous as well as the atmosphere but Mary Ellen is the real experience maker.

Located within the Boston Harbor Hotel, The Rowes Wharf Bar is a classy place to have a drink in the seaport area of Boston. I have visited this establishment for an after dinner drink on one occasion and oysters, which were fantastic, on another occasion. The bar menu here is great.

Got the Bruichladdich scotch and oyster pairing, almost 70$ after tax and tip. The server came and poured the scotch onto the shucked oysters. However, most of the oysters weren't level, so half of the scotch streamed right into the ice. She even made a comment about the pour not being very professional but she didn't do anything about it. For such a reputable establishment and unique menu option you'd think they'd figure out how to properly present it. Disappointing. Hard to enjoy the experience when I just watched the server pour half of it away. Wish I could have done it myself as I would have been a lot more careful, and if I spilled it I'd only have myself to blame.

Wow what a difference the staff makes. We’ve been here previously with an outstanding bartender, drinks and food. Tonight was awful. Male with thick black framed glasses needs some pointers on customer service—very short to the point of rudeness with a supercilious attitude. I’m going to give this person the benefit of the doubt and say they were overwhelmed by the job tonight. SMH. Seriously disappointing.
