I had the most delicious breakfast burrito with eggs, bacon, and lots of veggies at Brewer's Cafe this morning, along with a perfect iced Americano. The owners couldn't have been more lovely- what a great experience! I saw on the website that the breakfast burrito would take about 15 minutes, so I ordered ahead and it was ready when I arrived. I will definitely come here again!

Great coffee, food, and good energy! A super rainy day sent me in search of coffee. Thankfully, Google recommended this place. The unexpected welcome from both of the owners was very genuine. The breakfast sandwich was so big that it was served to me later for lunch, and the extra touch of a banana was a nice treat. The coffee was superb. While waiting for my sandwich, I enjoyed a fantastic conversation with the owner. I enjoyed seeing him interact with his son as he was excitedly sharing his schoolwork. Seeing a dad so engaged in his son while balancing his patrons was endearing.

Great coffee, AMAZING service!! Support a small business instead of over roasted coffee that requires 12lbs of sugar to taste good. This place is amazing and parking is also very accessible.

Cool little spot, good bagel sandwich, and a beautiful family helping out inside! They were extremely friendly and apologetic for the wait (which was absolutely not a problem; good things take time). I’ll definitely be back to try other things!

From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel welcome. I really liked the atmosphere and music. Wonderful experience. I really liked the Bainbridge. They feature cold pressed juice.. highly recommend the Black is Beautiful. Friendly people, great coffee and great conversation. Will definitely be back!

Brewers cafe is a great little stop with all fresh ingredients and a great little outdoor seating area. The food, specifically sandwiches, are fantastic and they have a wife range of fresh juices. I got a fantastic mocha, complete with latte art! And a wonderful chicken salad sandwich on sour dough bread with bacon! A life long southerner I was traveling with described it as "the best chicken salad he ever had". Overall a great place but if you want to dine in you best be prepared to be sitting outside, as the inside is "cramped".

Random coffee trips on out of state trips are my favorite, and hitting up Brewer's Cafe was a highlight. The gentleman in the shop was super nice and chill. Had a good chat about Pittsburgh and then the local area. Then the drinks he whipped up were incredible. 🔥

Loved hearing the story behind the cafe! Service was great and friendly! Cortado was lovely! Latte was a little light for our taste. If we're in town again we definitely want to try the sandwiches they sounded delicious!

We got to try the Cuban, the Bainbridge, cappuccino, iced americano, an one of their in house made juices. The Cuban is one of the best I have had in Richmond. Also the juice.. get their homemade juice. We got the blackberry and it is crazy good. Everything was delicious, the family inside were so nice and gave the best vibes. Such a great hole in the wall find and at the top of our brunch list go-to. This is a must try!!!

The Bainbridge on sourdough bread was absolutely amazing. We complemented it with fresh citrus sunrise juice! Thank you, Ajay and Joy for what you are doing to physically feed and socially nourish your community!!

Amazing amazing food and coffee! Love that it's a small family run business. The owners son was very sweet and kept us entertained during our 45 minute wait. Not sure if this is a normal wait time but the food and coffee were both delicious and worth it. I hope they find a way to cut down on wait time in the future as I would love to come back. They also offer fresh juices and bakery items.

I am glad that brewers was able to make a come back, I've been to the original location and the Hull st one that they had for a little bit. Honestly, I like the smaller (original/current) location better. They have a lot of great food options in addition to their expansive drink menu. I love that they have vegetarian options and breakfast all day. Hopefully RVA can move past the unfortunate comments made by the owner and go back to supporting this black owned business with an awesome vision for the local community.

This place is worth the stop! All ingredients are always fresh and the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. The chai tea latte has me in a chokehold.they have books for children if you're looking to bring the kiddos.

Delicious food and the most wonderful, family owned vibe I've ever felt in a place. It reminded me of Bob's Burgers the way the family was just hanging out with the kids there. It was amazing and lovely and such a nice experience. Everyone was so friendly and the kids were so funny. Highly recommend if you want your day to be infused with the nicest of family vibes and super tasty food.

Stopped here while visiting Richmond over Easter weekend. Nice neighborhood spot. Good food served with a smile. Club sandwich was hearty and delicious as was the Virginian and breakfast croissant. I forgot to take a photo of the croissant cause it was in my mouth

Brewer's Cafe had a tent at the South of the James Farmer's Market! We stopped by for some coffee but ended up picking up some waffle sticks! They look absolutely amazing. However they tasted okay. It was a little hard to eat because of the skewer and there wasn't much beyond a traditional waffle. The chocolate drizzle and powdered sugar were good but there just wasn't enough. It was also super light for the price! I'd definitely would want to try out some of the other flavors at the actual shop though!

Very cute local, family run coffee shop. We were visiting Richmond for a long weekend and stayed across the street from here and it's a local gem. We got cold brew coffee and avocado toast, all was great and one avocado toast was big enough for me and my husband to share (and was only $6!). Highly recommended to support this cafe if you're in the area!

Come here for great vibes! Brewers is run by the nicest family who cares about the community. Everyone is always friendly, not to mention delicious coffee and my favorite breakfast sandwich in the neighborhood.

The lady at the register was so kind. She called everyone by name, and recognized all of her, what I assumed were, regulars. It really seems to have a family vibe inside, and the branding is super cool. I got THREE store pressed juices (buy 2 get 1 free) and had a really good hazelnut oat milk latte. She didn't write my name down but when she handed it to me she addressed me by name. Would be happy to come here to work again and even bring a friend or two.

Locally owned and you can tell. This establishment not only serves great coffee but both times I have been, I have been acknowledged with a friendly and warm greeting. Tip: try the Brewer's latte

Was meeting a friend in the area and got there early. Decided to stop in as I thought I saw another customer enter. They were closed but the owners were so welcoming and made me a drink even though they were not open. That is amazing customer service and I was very pleased. Will be back. Great job by the owners.

This was a pleasant surprise because I thought I was meeting my friend at the original location, until I was told I was on the wrong street lol! I love the new location on Hull Street because it's much bigger. When I walked in, my ears were greeted with good music from a whole DJ up on the stage. I was pleasantly surprised!!! The setup definitely gave me cafe style feels. We were able to seat ourselves anywhere. There was a QR code on the table to scan and pull and order from the menu. It displayed our table number where the waitress would bring out our order. Meanwhile, the DJ is playing a good mix of hip hop and r&b, new and oldies but goodies. It was definitely a good vibe the entire time. So, I ordered the mocha latte with a shot of hazelnut, and the Exit 73 veggie breakfast panini. Our waitress brought it out about 15 mins later. She was really sweet and patient in our asks of certain things (nothing too crazy or over the top). The latte was perfect in its taste for me because it was not too sweet. It gave me the perk I needed. Now...for the veggie breakfast panini I was not a fan. I requested it be grilled for me with butter to melt down the cheese and give it a little more oomph. It was just too plain, cold, and dry for my liking. I wouldn't order it again unless it was made that way, and with more sauce/pesto and grilled veggies. That's where I took the one star. The lemonade pitcher we were able to add tequila to it and it was fresh and worth the $20! Overall, the ambiance was great with the staff being friendly and personable, the music giving good vibes, and the drinks had me lifted. I always look forward to seeing the owner's wife, and their cute baby on her hip while she manages the services; all with a smile and grace. Kudos to her I did come back on taco Tuesday for the crab cake tacos, and they did not disappoint. I visited a few weeks later for Thursday open mic night, and let me just say it's been a good time every time I have come to Brewer's.

Needed a quick green drink and tried the sunshine green juice and it was very good. I like the taste of the ginger and lemon, it has the right ratios. Will be back for more green juice.

Loveeee this place!! Discovered Brewer's Cafe because my car was being serviced near by and I needed to spot to hangout for a few hours. From the overall vibes and atmosphere, to the coffee, pressed juice and sandwich, to the friendly and attentive staff - everything was a 5/5!

I was not expecting something as basic as a breakfast bagel to taste SO GOOD! I got the everything bagel with avocado, tomato, arugula and veggie sausage. I almost ordered a second one! The bagel took a while to be served but I didn't mind because it was hot and toasted and didn't feel thrown together. Customer service was great too.

I stopped by on my way to a business conference. The customer service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My coffee was great and my avocado toast was amazing. I loved that it was fresh avocado and not prepackaged. I will stop by again next time I'm in town.

Stopped in here about a week ago in the early morning to get a couple of sandwiches for lunch. The hubs wanted the roast beef, and I'm a sucker for a good Reuben! I asked the young man at the counter if he recommended the Reuben Sandwich here which lead us to a fun little conversation about how he had his first Reuben at the age of ten. He's now in is 20s so I would consider him to be somewhat of an expert if he's been eating them for 10 years or more. The corned beef was sliced thin and piled high! There was not a single chewy bite! The hubs and I split half our sandwiches so I got to try the roast beef too. My new dilemma will be which sandwich will I order next time I go. Brewer's has good coffee and breakfast options, and I know I will be back for lunch again!

I really wanted to love this place because it is in a cute growing area of Richmond. I had to study for an exam and was looking for a nice cafe to settle down and concentrate. This place had great reviews so I was so excited to give my support to a local cafe. I ordered a bottled lemonade and the total was $6 with tip. I cringed a little at the price but I'm not complaining because I am happy to support. 20 minutes into studying with just me and a lady who is reading at the other side of the cafe, they started blaring loud music. I can usually tune cafe music out with my own headphones but the music was so loud, it was impossible. 5 minutes of trying hard to just ignore the loud music, I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I hate to give it such a low review but I just felt like I was being kicked out of the facility passive aggressively.

Had lunch here with my family. Great food. The Club Sandwich was delicious. I could hardly get my mouth around it and I have a big mouth, so that's saying a lot. Lots of meat and the produce was fresh. My wife enjoyed her Reuben and our daughters loved their waffle and chicken salad wrap, respectively. Joy was friendly and accommodating. Great little spot for lunch.

Wonderful coffee you can enjoy in any kitchen. I ordered three bags of Sgt. Betty's Blend June 28. We received our box of fresh-roasted beans July 1. The bottom of each bag was tagged "6/29" confirming when the day it was roasted and vacuum sealed. Brought a bag to the office and everyone who tried a cup said it is seriously good java. I love life, liberty and being awake enough to enjoy every second of both.

We wanted a quick easy and unique spot for breakfast before heading home. We weren't disappointed, everything was very good. My mistake was in not ordering a large coffee, no refills for other sizes, but the cold pressed juice filled the gap

This is their second location, on Hull Street, about a block over from the original location. It's fun! They got coffee and sandwiches, bagels, pastries, teas, juices, etc. Today they even had a DJ in there playing all kinds of music, everything from Mary J Blige to Jay-Z to Armand van Helden. I got a coffee and bagel sandwich for 10 bucks and both were really really good. Okay I am just going to say one thing, and if everyone wants to shoot me down, whatever. But this is a black-owned business, right? Well this is the third time I've been here, and there's always white people behind the counter. Black workers too, but more often white. It just seems like a lot of white employees for a black-owned business... Not a knock against it, just an observation. It's a fun place and I'll definitely be back!

the girls were so so so sweet. it's a very small place and very local. the food options were pretty well in taste and price. i came on a sunday morning so it was a bit packed so my two sandwhich was took maybe 10-15 min

A gem on Hull Street. I visit Richmond a few times a year and this is the first time at the new location (from around the corner). The coffee is delicious, bold and rich for the espressos, and the food portions were filling and more than U expected for breakfast items. The people working there, especially the barista and cashier we met a few times, made us feel welcomed and was graceful on the first day as we figured out the coffee drinks. Take note business owners, I am a firm believer that your workers who are the face of a place, are the true ambassadors and usually influence whether I'll be back. In this case, I will and maybe even order their beans online or to take home. Go check them out and thank me later!

Been supportive of this business since its inception because of the owner's support of the community around it. I may not agree with his personal or political views, but I respect that he has built a business in his community that has set the pace for revitalizing Blackwell/Manchester.

I love local people running local businesses, and that's what Brewer's Cafe is to RVA. When I think cafe, I'm thinking coffee and danishes and lighter food. The tacos and wings were excellent. Service and staff very polite and took time to chat. I'm sure I'll be back soon yo try more of Brewer's menu items.

Brewer's Cafe provides delicious food! The breakfast waffles are the bomb! They also provide menu items for lunch and dinner. The customer service is exceptional! The staff went above and beyond to take care of us when when my family and I recently visited over the weekend! The juice they sell is also amazing too; and the coffee is great too! Cute little café in Manchester! The menu is not only stocked with coffee drinks, but a few adult concoctions and food options! Love that the owner, Ajay lives across the street and frequently has his kids running back and forth. I've had a few of the drinks which were really tasty and quenching. It's a bit tiny, maybe fits 10 or so people seated inside, but there's also a little patio in front.

Had better coffee elsewhere. Tried their tent at a market and did not like the coffee.

I mean... I performed at a Writers Den event here earlier this year and the crowd was kind of dead but the little ice cream was good. Another time I got their chicken wings and they were good as well. It's just knowing the hidden nature of the owners that kinda made me not come here anymore. I'm always down to support black businesses but all skin folk ain't kin folk ‍

I had a great cup of freshly brewed coffee, a fantastic toasted bagel and some exceptional conversation getting acquainted with AJ on this Saturday morning in July. An amazing selection of food and beverage with coffee and bourbon for every taste...Wild Turkey Expresso? Don't knock it until you've tried it!
