Broadway Brewhouse West - Review - Bellevue - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Thebushwackerhas been part of Nashville’s drinking DNA for nearly two decades, and Brewhouse West is keeping that original spirit alive. The drink’s rich blend of rum, chocolate, coffee liqueur, and cream hits like dessert and a nightcap rolled into one—especially when paired with fried pickles and a karaoke mic. While the Downtown andMidtownBrewhouse locations have split off under new ownership, the original team still runs this Bellevue spot (along with a few sister locations), serving the same boozy milkshake that started it all." - Adam Sloan

Son and I got mojo fried sampler and Cajun combo. Both were excellent. Dining area is kinda small and the AC wasn’t keeping up with the humidity. Hard to complain with such great service and food. Apologize, food looked better, I started eating before I took the pic.

Google
Amanda is the best! She handled our large group perfectly. She never let any of our drinks be empty and she remembered what each of us was drinking. (We were a party of 15-20 so this was exceptionally impressive!) best service I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely come back and ask for her!

Ive had Jen S. as my waitress several times and she is great. Quick on top of things an very friendly. Brewhouse west is my favorite of the four different locations. More of a hometown feeling in the big city.

Google
Brewhouse is a local favorite. We’ve heard good things and had to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The menu is typical bar food but everything we had was delicious. Our appetizer was the Laredo rolls. It’s pulled pork, cilantro, jalapeños wrapped in a crispy wonton shell. Get the queso on the side so it doesn’t get soggy. Everyone at the table got chicken fingers (both fried and grilled). They were delicious, juicy, and tasted delicious. The fries are delicious and crispy. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Amanda is THE BEST waitress on the planet. We keep going to brewhouse to see her. Chicken tenders are amazing- service is even better!

Jerry G.

Google
Amanda was the most adorable waitress we ever had here The food was delicious, but a server like her makes the meal!!! I hope we can have her anytime we come in Top notch Bubbly personality Great attitude Knows the menu Great job!!!!

Google
This was an exciting place! This is our second time to visit. The atmosphere is perfect for friends gathering to watch Basketball, eat wings and drink beer! Definitely a place we will visit again when we are back in the Nashville area. If you are in the area, it is worth the trip to see it for yourself.

Google
OMG!!!!! The food was amazing here. I’m still thinking about those fried pigskins!!! Jen S was an amazing server!!!! I can’t wait to come back. The bushwacker was great. Added a shot of screwball and it was fabulous!!!

Yelp
Fantastic fish salad and catfish dinner baskets! Have yet to have anything wrong here me and my family love this place. It's such a dive bar but the wait staff is very friendly.

Yelp
Little Mom And pop bar with nice people look at the type you'd like to meet and I also had the catfish platter, which was excellent, but I can't wait to go back and try it again. If you're looking for a little Mom And pop dive bar, this is the one for you.

Yelp
Fun little bar that's a great spot where locals come to hang out! I moved to Tennessee this year and always pass this place and it's usually pretty packed. My bestie was in town so we decided to head over and check it out. We ordered some drinks and started talking to people around us. The bartender Tristan makes some great drinks and the people we met were fun and talkative! We tried a sample of the bushwhacker, tasted a PB and jelly (that drink is dangerously good) and ordered chicken and fries basket. Everything was great! Can't wait to be back

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service from both servers working - they both kept checking to make sure we had what we needed! I got the Island Swiss burger and it was full of flavor and soooo good. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and delicious as well. Hubby was happy with his sandwich and beer too - sorry for the bad pic of his. I was starving and dug into mine before I could think to get a good pic of his. We also got some chips and cucumber salsa - I ended up buying more salsa to take home because of how good it was. The parking up front was limited so we drove around back and there was plenty of parking back there. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but so happy we took a chance! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Beers ice cold! Wings were good! Catfish were better! Jumbo could of been better I score this place 8.6

Yelp
Traveling through Nashville on the way to Memphis, it was time to eat and I didn't want fast food, but rather a unique restaurant to the area-no chain. I could tell this was a local favorite. They had a lot of drink specials, but since I was driving I stuck with water. Their menu was good and I enjoyed the chicken salad and my son had a burger. They had a lot of TVs and looked like a great place to hang out to watch games. They had my favorite things-trivia nights and karaoke. I wish I lived near this place. The service was good and welcoming.

Yelp
Great place for an extended hang & cheap drinks. Met a group of friends here at 3 on a Sunday & stayed until nearly 8. Vibe went from very quiet to lively as the day moved on. Good food & cheap drinks make this divey spot a gem. I plan on being back for more hangs. I had the Cajun club sammy & it was very good. Fries are slamming also.

Yelp
I love coming to this local bar! The texas melt was delicious with the jalapeño mayo. The grilled fish salad was so fresh and yummy. Drinks are cheap and the servers are nice! They have music bingo, trivia, and karaoke on different days of the week. A great local spot if you are not in the mood for a crazy night out downtown!

Yelp
Brewhouse West is definitely a locals spot, without question and I can truly see why the locals love this place! We recently moved to the area and Brewhouse came highly recommended as a good place for a beer and some solid bar food. The beer is top notch in selection and price, the food part needs a little work. Brewhouse West is a no frills, local, dive/sports joint where the locals of all sorts come to have a strong cocktail, local beer, cheap burger, saucy wings or even some fried alligator...all while catching the game on one of the many TV's throughout the place. One thing that immediately attracted us to Brewhouse, outside of the location to our house, was their ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR! It is legit an all day thing with specials on cocktails, wine and beer! At some points of the night and on the weekends, you can get up to 50% off of your beverages...so, sign me up! We have been here a few times now and each time dined and drank in the main dining room/bar area. They do have a more private side room and a covered back patio as well. I look forward to the warmer months, as I was told they have great patio vibes and live music on certain nights out back! Parking is not an issue here. They have a few VIP spots up front, but if you are not lucky enough to scoop one of these up then they have a large lot in the back. Each time we have visited we usually just stick to the beer menu, which features all the classics, but also a rotating local tap. I am hooked on the Mayday Boro Blonde Ale! Food wise, they serve up a mix of classic bar food as well as Mexican and Creole inspired dishes. We have sampled a few things from the menu including the Chicken Club Wrap, Patty Melt and the famed Chipotle BBQ wings. The wrap has been hit and miss, as the first visit it was perfection, however on the second time in it was not put together very well and did not have a good ratio of chicken, cheese to lettuce. The patty melt was tough, as in tough to get through. I do not want to say the burger and bread were stale, but they definitely spent more time under the heat lamp than they should have. On the flip side, the wings were excellent! They were tender, perfectly smoked and absolutely coated in the chipotle bbq sauce...and then you dip them in that spicy ranch, boyyyyyyyyy!!! Service has been solid. You can tell they are understaffed right now, as is everywhere, but they are handling it quite well. The servers have been helpful, friendly and done a great job! Overall, I enjoy Brewhouse West for what it is! It is not on the top of my culinary recommendations list for Nashville, but it definitely sits close to the top for local divey-sports bars with excellent happy hours!

Yelp
The ambiance here is the best ! Amanda always knows my order and has a beer ready the moment I walk in every Friday night for karaoke . The people and the workers make karaoke night and every other night amazing ! I recommend this bar for a night of singing fun.

Yelp
We were staying down the street and the desk clerk recommended the Brewhouse. We are so glad we went. We were greeted upon arrival and told we could sit wherever we liked. Our server, Hunter, was outstanding. He was patient, friendly & knowledgable of the local brews on tap. He worked hard to make sure we had an enjoyable visit. I got the jambalaya and it was very delicious. Cooked & seasoned perfectly. The onion rings are amazing. Their fried catfish is delicious as well. The interior is typical bar seating with TVs with various sporting events.

Tyler M.

Yelp
Amazing service great atmosphere and the food was amazing we had a burger catfish and the Texas melt and everything was excellent. The beer is cheap and cold also would highly recommend.

Yelp
Amanda and Phil make Wednesday night trivia my go-to! Great drink deals and good vibes

April R.

Yelp
I was not real impressed with the Bushwackers there. Way, way too pricy!! Also, this place needs to think about getting kid friendly Bushwackers. I mean, what if they want one of those flavors? I am pretty sure they can be made non-alcoholic so kids CAN enjoy a shake or malt or whatever they are with some cool flavors added like they do for the adults. They need to think about kidds too & not just adults. Just sayin'! Enjoy ur 2 stars. As far as the ambiance, it was really loud! But, then again, the Titans were playing. GO TITANS!! The only thing I did like about the place.

Yelp
Plenty of parking space and I came to dine alone...ordered mojo wings. These were fantastic, spicy and the wings were not dried out, the server (Robbie) was phenomenal.

Rod T.

Yelp
The food was great, as usual, and Amanda, our server, was fantastic! It was always a great meal. I highly recommend the catfish basket, any of the burgers, and a Bushwacker!

Yelp
Nestled between Wendy's and a new, overpriced apartment complex lies the location of Brewhouse West. I start this review by saying I have experienced both great and unfortunate ate times at Brewhouse. Friday nights listening to karaoke with the homies has been a real delight. I have had the pleasure of meeting new brothers in brew such as Bishop (but not so holy) and Amanda, the best waitress on staff. Amanda is a light hearted brunette with a personality worth commenting on. Her confidence radiates throughout the bar as my friends and I always look forward to seeing her. She often remembers our drinks, food, and never lets us leave without a smile on our faces. She really is a treat. Unfortunately, I have been taken care of by other staff members. I say taken care of but it really feels like I was ignored. There's a young woman with piercings on her lips and tongue that was extremely rude to some younger men that were at the bar. These men looked to be normal guys just trying to have a good night. I had my eye on them as they were good looking, and they did not do any harm from what I could see. She quickly lost her drunken temper and could not control her emotions. They left and I haven't seen them in months. She really rubbed me the wrong way. As I conclude this review, I have come to realize that Brewhouse has the potential to be special. Places like this are few and far between in Nashville. It is a real shame that the cloud of negativity outshines the sunshine that Amanda brings to this bar. For this reason, I can only give two stars.

Jerre S.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to Brewhouse West for several years, the food is always good, the service is sometimes not so good, but not so bad that we wouldn't go back, but I experienced something I've never, ever seen or even heard of anyplace else. Our server was kind of slow to acknowledge us, and even slower to take our order. Not that big a deal, but the place was almost empty. Here's what prompted me to write this review. When she finally brought our food, she was actually on the phone, sat our plates on the table, never made eye contact or said a word. Incredible! She also never checked on us during our meal to see if we needed anything else. The one star is just for the service, the food is about a 4 most of the time. If we go back, I'll walk out if she is still there.

Yelp
A great dive bar in Nashville. Cheap food and drinks with lots of daily specials. They offer happy hour and make a frozen bushwhacker which I highly recommend! They come in different flavors, I ordered the coffee flavor and it was amazing
google avatar

Kristin J.

Yelp
Wow! This place blew me away. Now that I'm new to the area, I wanted to try their food and boy was I impressed. I ordered the chicken club wrap and it was delicious and bursting with flavor. Their mojo ranch was *chefs kiss*. My bf ordered the chicken po boy and the only complaint he had was that the chicken was not cut up into bite size pieces so he had to open to roll and cut into it himself. I was a little disappointed in the service as our server looked bored and not eager to serve us. Not very friendly but the food redeemed that aspect of our experience. If you're looking for a no-frills place to grab a bite, I suggest giving this place a try!
google avatar

Maggi V.

Yelp
The food is great. The staff has always been friendly and trivia night is fun. I'd recommend everything I've tried (except the fish dip as it's cream cheese based and just not my thing even though it wasn't bad). This time I had the Brisket Quesadilla and it was delicious, even reheated the next day
google avatar

Kazimiera H.

Yelp
The food is good and they always serve big portions. Great, friendly service and the ambiance is always good and very laid back.

Yelp
Driving by we wondered if this would be good. Food, servers, all amazing. Some fresh in-House salsa that comes with the quesadilla was fantastic. I couldn't believe this place wasn't packed with customers on a Saturday night. Will be back...

Yelp
I love it they the best if you guys are in Nashville west please try this place you want be disappointed

Yelp
The food at Brewhouse West is absolutely delightful and better than you would expect, as the atmosphere is quite solidly "Biker Bar". This location is incredibly close to our home so we do order take-out quite frequently. The only true downside (the reason for only 3 stars) is the cigarette smoke, and while it is legal because of the way the windows/walls open, the stench is absolutely nauseating and the air is thick. Whenever we simply run inside to grab our take-out, we can truly be inside for 3 minutes and absolutely reek of both stale and fresh cigarettes. The internal atmosphere has a very neighborhood feel and I think it is much loved by smoking patrons. The women at the bar who take the calls and prep the take-out have always been incredibly friendly. I would absolutely recommend the food for carry-out!

Yelp
Great place for food, friends and fun. Huge menu that is all good. Very reasonably priced and fast service. Our waitress, Stacey was AWESOME and the absolute best service I've had in months!

Hilton H.

Yelp
This place is the absolute bees knees. If you don't come here your an absolute numb skull. PEACE

Yelp
Great food and great service. I've gotten carry out several times lately and my experience has been great.

Yelp
Brewhouse West is part of the Broadway Brewhouse family which has 5 locations. They are definitely casual (bit of a dive) yet they have a good beer selection and decent food. I had only been to the Brewhouse 100 location in Bellevue and I have to say that I like the Brewhouse West location much better. This venue is not only bigger they just have a more welcoming environment and staff. I didn't expect to have such a wildly different perception of another Brewhouse but honestly it does matter which one you go to! I came here a few nights ago to watch a Preds game and they had a great atmosphere for that. I really like the patio area and they have a TV outside so we watched the game from a bar area table. Be aware that this is not a kid-friendly bar. This isn't because of the people (although I saw my fair share of bikers outside) but because they allow smoking. If smoking does really bother you a lot you may not enjoy it here. However, the experience here makes up for the fact that smoking is allowed. The service was great. The bartender/server was very friendly and attentive. She came by several times to check on us and the service was fast as well. The menu features Tex-Mex and "Cajun" options. They have burgers and sandwiches, quesadillas, burritos and soups and salads. Their drink menu has almost 30 beers on tap and bottled but their most famous drink in the bushwacker, which is a chocolatey alcoholic drink that reminds me of a Frosty. Other Nashville restaurants may have copied their bushwacker but apparently they have the original! We ordered beer (I got Lagunitas) and a bushwacker and for an appetizer we got the queso with chips. The queso is great and they load up the basket with plenty of chips. Although I haven't seen a band play here I saw plenty of fliers for live music they host. They have a stage on the patio then inside they have a place for a band to setup as well. This would definitely be a fun place to come see some music so I will be back!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
For what this is, an open air beer bar with delicious food, it deserves 5 stars however I have to give it 4 stars for allowing smoking; Because if they didn't allow smoking my husband and I could bring our toddler to enjoy some of the yummy dinner specials. The staff is very nice, hard to find sometimes in this town. Also, they have good unique dinner & soup specials; tonite's was jalapeño crab soup & rib tips.
google avatar

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Good food, good service if you sit at the bar. Mallory is the best bartender I've seen, hands down. Don't let the regulars cause drama and you'll enjoy this place. I love coming here to watch football. They have great food and drink specials.

Darick O.

Yelp
Five star because it is what it is. It's a dive bar! Locals, food, good service, music. May smell a tad bit of cigarette smoke, but again it is what it is. Walk out thinking "I don't need to come back here" but then there's something that keeps you coming back. Also, there's people there at all times of the day every day. Gotta be doing something right!
google avatar

Phil G.

Yelp
I got food to go one time and spilled spicy ranch on my shirt. Luckily the staff gave me extra napkins because they know I'm a sloppy human being. 5 stars.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Overall: My favorite little smokey biker bar. Food/Drinks: The food is the same as the rest of the Brewhouses - decent bar food with a cajun-ish flair. (Keep in mind when i say "canjun-ish," however, I'm not expert when it comes to N'Awlins cooking.) The short version of what I've said in other BB reviews, I usually get the quesadillas but the burgers are good as well and the specials always sound pretty tasty. Skip the salads. Phew, now that that's out of the way lets talk drinks. Bushwackers -- love them! But fair warning, they are strong! There's a good beer selection, but this location does have a smaller tap selection than the others. Location/Service: A perfect little hole in the wall bar & grill. I'm not sure why this place holds such a soft spot in my heart, but it does. (maybe it's the number of times co-workers and i have hooped it up in the middle of the week?) The waitresses are great as is the service and I love that I can just show up in a tshirt and jeans and fit right in. Tip: I feel like this is more of summer place. The windows are plastic and it's open air for most of the year... until it gets cold. It does get a little chilly inside sometimes, so keep a jacket handy in the winter.

JD M.

Yelp
We are locals and have enjoyed the happy hour Sundays and patio here for 10+ years but they aren't so happy anymore. Seems they have changed the happy hour to only include Domestic draft but don't tell you this before you order. They advertise on the website all draft beer is half off but this apparently no longer includes craft or import draft beers. Including my favorite Bearded Iris Homestyle. :( They need to update there website Sunday happy hour and communicate this change to customers.
google avatar

Buddy H.

Yelp
Changed my mind so in love with this place. Strongly suggest sitting at the bar on Sunday. This place is why I love football
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
If your looking for a casual hangout with decent food and cheap drinks this is a great place. Occasionally it is a bit to Smokey for my taste since I hate smoking. But all together a good place with nice people and good music. Plenty of TV's to boot. Prime time to visit is in the summer when the windows are open.
google avatar

Yelp
Sara May be the best server in the City of Nashville. Never let me get low on beer. Prompt, courteous and got my order perfect. You should ask for Sara when you walk in. Curly red hair and just awesome !!
google avatar

Anne B.

Yelp
Shout out to Kristen, and Sara! Their service was amazing! Kristen had a ton of cool local recommendations, since I was visiting Nashville from Las Vegas. Sara was friendly, and fast. Overall great service, and huge selection of drink choices! If I ever come back to Nashville I will definitely be back.

Eric E.

Yelp
Diet coke, onion rings and fries were good. That said the bread on 3 of the 4 sandwiches was stale. Mojo pork and roast beef were kind of flavorless. The server spilled a drink all over the table and my son, it happens not a big deal but nothing was comped. So $75 for a muhhhh lunch .

Winter W.

Yelp
I was in town for vacation and this was the best spot I ate at! All of the food was amazing and my group got all different foods. Nothing was bad! Aaron was our server and he was great!! I will 100% come here every time I come to Nashville!

Yelp
Please look at the surveillance video!!!!!!!! Just got choked out and then thrown out!!!!!! Really? If I was drunk and or wrong then I'm not complaining.... but please watch the video first..... don't go here!!!?
google avatar

Yelp
We were looking for a different place to have lunch while on the west side of town. This little establishment is as what others say"divey",yet welcoming. The food was great. My jalapeno bacon and tasso ham, cajun chef salad was delish. The lettuces were fresh as were the tomatoes. The salad was enough for two to share for the meal. They had many local brews of tap and Sunday is two for the price of one! Our service was "ok". Now on to the cons: Don't look at the fans or ceiling: Dust everywhere. Vents with dust hanging from them, dangling form the ceiling. The fans were caked in the dust/cigarette smoke. I really think that this place would be great with a clean up and a no smoking sign.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Feels and smells like a dive bar remnant of the late 80's. Almost walked out as soon as I walked in... That would have been a mistake. Food: the food was REALLY good. I had their Mojo Pork sandwich, and it was perfect. Fresh bun, the pork was so tender, and the jalapeño bacon was incredible. Absolutely try this out. My wife had chicken wings, which were big, plump, and juicy. She loved the flavor, and has already told me she wants to go back for more. Service: incredible service. The young lady that served us was polite, engaging, and fast. She responded to our needs very quickly, and was extremely pleasant about it. My wife's food came out cold the first time. We brought this to her attention, and five minutes later a completely new plate of food, piping hot, was delivered. They didn't just reheat her food, the completely remade the plate... And that is the mark of GREAT food service. Cleanliness: this is where they lose a star. The fans are CAKED with cigarette tar and filth. You can literally see it swinging from the fan. It is extremely disgusting. It would take all of two hours to fix the fans... But that clearly hasn't been done this decade. Additionally, the tables are so old they are permanently sticky. This isn't because they weren't cleaned, it's because the lacquer used to cost them is breaking down. You see it in a lot of old bars... But it still feels unclean. One thing to be aware of, this is a smoking establishment. Their porch offers some respite, but the smell is everywhere. Just be prepared for it... But do not let it dissuade you from the great food!

Yelp
Same as the Brewhouse on Broadway and also in Midtown, except in my neck of the woods. I really enjoy Brewhouse for either some dinner or a couple of drinks. The food is decent. It's New Orleans influenced, which I love some good Cajun food. It will never be as good as it is in Nola, BUT for what it is, I approve. I do not like the smoke, but you'll have that with any bar. The quick solution to this is to sit on the patio. I do not come as often as I should, but the last time I came to Brewhouse West made me think I should change that. An awesome band was playing; It takes a lot to impress me with live music in Nashville, but the band, J Mays & Z Bro, were enjoyable to me. They were pounding out reggae/hip hop covers that made it easy to nod your head too. Between this, the Woodchuck Ciders on tap and the perfect weather on the patio, it was a very chill night. There was also a birthday party at the table next to us, and the girl was nice enough to share her cake with us. I could not refuse. How could you ever ask for a better night? Free cake!!
google avatar

Yelp
The manager Julie is awful. Many of the other staff are just as bad. Other brew houses in the area are great but here they allow boyfriend/ employee/ banned or can't drink but can come back because they date a server guys create issues. Never had an issue handled the way Julie the "manager" have. Grown up in restaurants and love frequenting quality establishments, don't ware your time here try midtown, downtown or south brew houses I've heard the hwy 100 store is in the same despicable state.

Yelp
This is the cousin or maybe even brother restaurant (not sister because it has a pretty manly vibe) of the Broadway Brewhouses. I personally like the vibe and the food much better at this one. If you go on Sundays you'll be able to see it easily as you approach, because the parking lot will be filled with glistening rows of chromed-out motorcycles. I really like to sit outside in their beer garden when the weather is nice and drink some draft Yazoos. Although the menu is almost the same as the Broadway Brewhouses, it's a little more rounded out here, and the food comes on real plates, not Styrofoam ones. I hate eating out of Styrofoam! I usually get the gumbo and house salad combo. I think their gumbo is the finest in Nashville because it's thick with small pieces of sausage, and shrimp, and it's also pretty spicy. The house salad comes with jalapeno bacon, cucumber salsa and this amazing spicy ranch dressing. They also have a great burger, which also comes with the jalapeno bacon. I just really like the laid back vibe here. It's a surprising place a little off the beaten track and it has the coldest, most delicious beer.
