Mrs. and I had a pleasant evening at Over the Horizon and because they're part of an RV hospitality program, we were able to spend the night. Hooray for a third beer because I don't have to drive. We arrived after our dinner in Mount Pleasant so we didn't have any dinner here. Just drinks and relaxation after driving all day. A warm welcome, some tasty brews and a quiet night. The back room was quite peaceful from the noise of the music. They could use some more power outlets along the wall but otherwise, no complaints!

Google
Omg! We stumbled across this place, and it was amazing! So much fun! The people here are great, and so was the beer. Loved it, and I would totally come back if I'm ever in the area. What are you waiting for?!

My husband and I have RVed to breweries in 47 states and this one is our favorite. We visited on a slow day and sampled over 10 beers. They were all delicious. One of the founders came out to say hello and told us the history of the brewery. We felt like VIPs. We highly recommend this brewery and can't wait to go back. Make sure to check their working hours as some days they are closed.

Google
Over the Horizon brewery ranks in my top three in the Charleston area.It may just be my favorite overall. And that's saying something because the beer scene in Charleston is amazing and very competitive. Founded and run by combat veterans and citadel alum, it has become a fixture in the local Charleston scene. The beer is amazing and inventive with names that highlight the local area. And even the food is good, which most bar food is terrible. The owners are congenial and regularly come out and chat with the customers. They have a cool upstairs room with lots of military memorabilia, which is a great spot to host a reunion or veteran get together. They also have a really cool outdoor area that is a great venue for music and networking event. My favorite fixture though, has to be the memorial wall of fallen Citadel alums who died in the line of duty. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend checking this brewery out.

Google
This is a veteran owned establishment. Service memorabilia hanging on the walls, great atmosphere. Great local beer and bar menu. On-site free parking. Even a resident dog named Booker. Great place to wind down after a long day at work or to catch up with friends. I highly recommend the Detroit style pizza and the margarita, IPA, seltzers, and the other local beers. There’s even an ice cream shop attached to the building.

Google
The beer was good but the “Detroit style” pizza is not Detroit Style. Whomever said this was Detroit style needs to search more on the internet for what Detroit style actually is. I’ve made better pizza at home for less than $14. Yikes. Skip the pizza and order the beer. You’re not going to see my name under your receipts because it wasn’t on my card.

Shout out to Chris! He was very social and knowledge about the different beers and seltzers. Thank you so much for being amazing, we really appreciate your help. Chris made great recommendations. You were great! It was our first time at this brewery and it did not disappoint. The food was great! I had the crab Rangoon, chicken hibachi and the chicken nachos. My friend tried their quesadillas and loved them. We tried the different flights. My husband loved the tropical vibrations. My favorite was the Moscow Mule as well as Victor’s elixir. Our experience was very pleasant. They have a foosball table, corn hole as well as a pool table. There is outdoor seating as well as indoors. We will have to come back on a Thursday when they have sushi on menu! There was plenty of free parking. I highly recommend coming here for a drink and a bite to eat. The only negative is that pets aren’t allowed but it’s understandable. We loved that the machines were named after back to the future characters. The restrooms were clean. I loved the lab theme especially the periodic table. I want to try the non-alcoholic brews next time I visit!

Google
They may not have ciders, but they have something way better! Their customizable sour is the absolute best. You can pick syrup flavors to make your own creations. We did blackberry and grenadine and Amazing!!!!!. We will be going back again before our vacation ends. The staff was EXCELLENT! Great to talk to and funny and very helpful. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere!

Yelp
Brewlab has tons of beers on tap! The draft list includes their house brewed options as well as other breweries, and my personal favorite, lots of sours. If you're not into beer, they have wine, a hard kombucha, and a few beer cocktails (think beer with a tequila shot, sour beer mixed with vodka). I do wish they had some mocktails or an NA option. The indoor area has a semi-private upstairs that sometimes hosts events, and the outdoor area allows dogs. They have free Wi-Fi, which makes Instagram-ing your beer easier! I've been here for several pub runs with the Fleet Feet Run Club, and they've always treated us really well. Sometimes the line gets long, but the beer-tenders get everyone through quickly. If you order food, you are given a number and the servers call it out when your food is ready and bring it to your table. The food here isn't my favorite on the brewery trolley route downtown, but it will do when you need to soak up the booze.

Yelp
I recently went on a brew tour and happy hour. Meet up here, and This was very nice. I love when I get to sip and learn. I slipped on a Mexican lager before the tour began. Which was really good. Then after we did the tour, we had the chance to sample some of their other options like sours and IPAs they also have a great outdoor patio area and a space upstairs where you can also sit and sip. You can follow along with me over on Instagram to keep up with my Food and Bev adventures @sipbiteandtasteit

Yelp
Went here with my elderly in-laws, my brother-in-law and my wife. BIL was visiting and found this place for trivia night. It was freezing cold and the door (garage door) was wide open to accommodate additional seating. Food was so so. Beer was good. Not what I expected compared to other breweries in the general vicinity.

Yelp
Great brewery with a great upstairs space. Love the beer and the staff were super friendly! Wings were great too!

Yelp
Definitely coming back here. Lots of free parking lot parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also serve lots of bar food eats including burritos, wings, fries, empanadas and more. Maybe 15 in house beers on tap across various styles. I had a nice black IPA. They do free samples and flights! Beers run about 7 to 7.25$ a pint, plus tax. Friendly beertenders. I do wish they were running the ac on Memorial Day weekend when we visited as it was warm and humid, but they had all the doors open. Not a huge fan of the pop Bruno Mars Doja Cat bs music they were playing but it was Zoomers working, so yeah. Tees are 20 bucks and stickers are 2 dollars. Dogs are allowed outside, not inside at all, and only in designated areas. They also have a neato upstairs balcony with some nice comfy chairs, 2 long leather couches and Jenga and a checker board. No air flow up there at all though. Wifi is strong and free, just like 'merica! Pet friendly, but not indoors.

Yelp
The Nachos were very good. We were going to the Lobster truck that was there but were enticed by their offerings at Brewlab. We got a flight of beers as well. The beers were good and the nachos were even better. Nice outside patio within 100 yards of another brewery so we got to enjoy both on this day.

Yelp
Hidden gem, multiple styles of beer, something for everyone. 2 amazing hazy ipas on tap right now. Tasty nachos. Great outdoor space.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!! They have 32 beers on tap that they make in house. The menu is super helpful with great descriptions about each beer. The bartender was also amazing. She was super helpful and allowed us to try a few things before we committed to full pints. Flights are also available where you can try 4 beers. The bar is huge and they also have an outdoor seating area. They also have a full food menu available. We tried the fried dumplings with sweet chili sauce and they were pretty good! Seriously this place is awesome and we really can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Beer: we tried a flight with a few spurs and a few of the IPAs. The skies were not very sour and tasted a hot artificial and the IPAs were ok at best. Food: we tried the tacos. They are actual street tacos so they were ok but pretty bland. We're from San Diego so our beer and tacos opinions are high but they both weren't great even compared to other tacos and breweries in the area.

Yelp
Nice little microbrewery near the Charleston/North Charleston border, right off the interstate. Except for BrewLab, it looks like a neighborhood. They have a few parking spaces onsite, but it was pretty full when I arrived. It appeared some people parked around the corner along the street. There was a small yoga class going on out front in the lot. Variety of craft beers and a decent food selection (one-page menu). Food was mostly Mexican or seafood. The burritos are pretty good, especially for bar food. French fries, which come with the burritos, were tasty too. The salsa for the burritos could have more flavor. The quesadilla was very dry and basically tasted like chicken with cheese; nothing special. Others in our group said the calamari was good; I can't say, but it definitely had a strong seafood smell. As I was driving I just had water, which was disappointing when they served it warm, without ice and a hot glass. Not a big fan of drinking hot water. Can't rate their beers since I didn't try any, but others in my party seemed to enjoy theirs.

Yelp
This place is a bit off the beaten path, as in it isn't really close to downtown. We made our way here to try out a couple of the breweries nearby. This one in particular was very laid back and a good atmosphere. In the summer I bet this place is packed. Since it is winter time, we basically had the place to ourselves. There were some unusual seasonal stouts on tap that were interesting to try. I tend to like unusual seltzers and they had a raspberry limeade one that was pretty tasty. The bartender here was super helpful though and even told us some other places to try out. Cool place overall and will probably visit when in town again!

Yelp
Great spot to stop in for a cold beverage and some great menu items. Off the beaten path, this place has some friendly service and tasty shareable (or not ) dishes. Taco Tuesday is a great deal and the wings are a great item any night of the week (lemon pepper wings were juicy and had a nice little zing). Lots o tasty beer options. Large screen TVs. Eating and drinking at the large bar or outside on the patio are also fun for date night!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved this place! It was a great spot to try a lot of different beers! We were visiting from out of town so we wanted to be able to try a bunch of beers. We each got a flight (4 of us) and shared, we were happy campers! The bar staff was friendly and attentive, it's the kind of place I'd probably frequent if I lived in town. To be honest I can't think of anything that stands out other than the great beer selection. If you are a beer nerd like me, check out Brewlab!

Yelp
Great beer and food! The apps are all so good. One thing with the food is that it does come out in styrofoam - really wish it didn't. Lots of beer options for any taste. Bartenders have always been nice and quick. The space is big and lots of seating types. Parking lot isn't huge but we've always snagged a spot.

Susan H.

Yelp
Monday night...driving home from Columbia and got their email for 6 free wings with the purchase of 2 pints, we're there I mean, free wings! Wings were exactly what u expect from wings, perfect! And did I say free! Ordered the street tacos too. Bartender warned us they were small but for $3 each, they hit the spot, tried the lamb (delish) and the chicken, not as tasty but solid. Then bingo babe walks in, music bingo! lol won a free beer! Such a fun, entertaining evening. Had a blast, Will be back!
google avatar

Andrew J.

Yelp
Staff was cool and the beer was cold. What more could you ask for? This place was really clean, well done and the food wasn't bad at all either. So, why only 3 stars? Well for whatever reason they have made the choice to go with serving everything to-go style in plastic bags with plastic silverware and styrofoam clamshells. I'm sure they have a good reason for choosing this, but that is way too much waste for me. If I go back I just wont order food as I can't justify the waste.

Yelp
Great time on Wednesday night for trivia. My only complaint is that on such a BUSY night there are only 2 bartenders. And they are selling flights...which everyone wanted to sample before sampling. Fun trivia and good food though. Civiche and avocado with chips refreshing and had a surprisingly sharp heat to it. Yummy. Come for trivia. Leave plenty of time to order drinks.

Yelp
Really liked this brewery and especially that they had 4 sours on tap! Big space, nice outside space, good food truck, super friendly staff, and of course great beer!
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Really great beer, staff was knowledgeable and really energetic about the entire concept of this brewery, not sure if the owners staff the bar but they really were invested in the product and that product was good, The tasting room itself was super bright, comfortable and welcoming. I did several tasting flights and enjoyed every one. The people doing the food were running late that day but that is an independent venture from the brewery and was very good despite the wait, so not counting that against them.

Yelp
Nice newly renovated, spacious location for beer goers who aren't looking for a compact crowd. Indoor and outdoor layout with great open windows and a large selection of good beer. Really liked the Charleston light but you'd have to be in the mood for a light beer. It's no bud light, has great flavor.
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
Great location and excellent beer. The staff is cordial and friendly. Parking available, good food, pool table. They have some specials available. Buy two pints get 6 free wings on Mondays. They also have taco Tuesdays. Great for larger groups.

patrick h.

Yelp
Great beer and food. Love the atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Had a free 6 wing night with purchase of 2 pints. Can't beat that.

Duncan W.

Yelp
Beer was good but the owners have 1 worker serving 30+ people which is creating really long wait times to even close out a tab let alone get a beer... Felt sorry for the poor girl running the entire operation by herself. She did the best job she could, ill say that.
google avatar

Shannon R.

Yelp
What a fun brewery! They have a fooseball table, which brought about a good laugh and some fun competition. They have a cute little side patio that was a perfect spot for an afternoon flight. They had a large variety of beers from sours to stouts. There is also plenty of seating inside to stop by and watch a football game. Such a fun atmosphere and will definitely be visiting again during my next visit to Charleston.
google avatar

Wemdy K.

Yelp
Love this place owners and team are wonderful. Huge selection of beers, I'm not through them all but each was good. AND you don't have to leave your friends that don't love beer at home! They have wine and cocktails too.....AND good food on premise!
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
We were visiting Charleston for our baby moon and we found this place on Yelp and made sure to visit. My husband loved trying the beers and the people working were so nice to us and gave us suggestions for things to do the rest of our stay. We were surprised to hear they had only been open for 10 months! Thanks for a good time, I only wish I could've drank a beer
google avatar

Tracy N.

Yelp
Loved my visit to Brewlab last night! Liked the Soberry sour so much that I only tried one other -- the Coconut Brown -- which was great as well. More than 30 beers that they brew in-house on tap! Plus, 2 locally made ciders, about 6 wine varietals and a full bar, so even non-beer drinkers can find something they like. The environment is beautiful too -- modern brewery chic with a great side patio.
google avatar

Kaitlin C.

Yelp
So fun with so many different selections to choose from! And they serve food!! The sour selection (which is my favorite) is larger than most.
google avatar

Kate K.

Yelp
Great selection. Excellent flights. Room to sit comfortably and hang out with 4 friends!
google avatar

Drew F.

Yelp
Great new spot with a large selection of beer and wonderful customer service. I believe Dalton was our bar tender and he was great as well as anyone else who walked by making sure we had everything that we need.

Matt G.

Yelp
Tried this place as I love the beers being brewed at Tradesmen, Frothy Beard & Revelry. Great selection of light/dark and a huge selection of sours. Sours are not my thing but I tried the Lime - Lime and it was really good. I had a tropical IPA (forget the name) and it was delicious. Bartender was very nice and took time to go over all their selections. We'll definitely be back.

Krista F.

Yelp
Amazing Tacos and great beer! Lots of space! Great space for family fun and group meetings
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
Large comfortable space and good beer. What more could you want these days. I didn't try their food.

Mark L.

Yelp
Best new brewery in Charleston! Great beers and plenty of choices. Really enjoyed the staff and the atmosphere was vey fun. Can't wait to go back.

Jason M.

Yelp
Great beer, great food. For being less than a year old and maintaining over 20 quality beers I am impressed. They have a lot going for them and I expect nothing but great things from them in the future. Whenever I visit Charleston I plan to go back.
