This brewpub, located past Security Checkpoint 3 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, has become my go-to stop when traveling to or from Coupeville on Whidbey Island. The biggest draw for me--beyond the wide selection of Washington beers--is the incredible view. Situated east of runways 16/34, it's a prime location for plane spotting, with Horizon Air operating just below.
Like all airport dining, Brewtop Social isn't cheap, but I find the view alone worth the price of food and drink. A 16oz beer runs about $13, while a 20oz will cost you $16. Seating is open, located on the mezzanine level above the bustling terminal. From here, you overlook security and a variety of restaurants below. There's also a small bar at the top of the stairs. The staff is consistently attentive, promptly bringing menus and checking in. In all my visits, I've never experienced poor service.
The food is solid. I always enjoyed their grilled cheese and tomato soup, but it seems the menu has been updated since my last visit in December 2024. This time, I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich--a hefty, deep-fried chicken breast that was juicy and flavorful, served with thick-cut fries. There are plenty of new menu items I haven't tried yet.
The ambiance isn't much to speak of, as noise from the lower levels tends to rise. You'll often find live music below, and TVs near the bar and grill area. But for me, the massive floor-to-ceiling windows make this spot a must-visit. I highly recommend it, no matter which terminal you're flying out of.
