The 17 Best Places to Eat in State College, Home of Penn State | Eater

"Originally launched in Pittsburgh, the upscale burger restaurant Brgr opened its doors in State College in 2019, finding a spacious home in a former bank building. The space’s touch of industrial flair complements Brgr’s dressed-up burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Those dining in a group should kick off their meal with an order of Chachos (nachos with potato chips instead of tortilla chips) or poutine. For the main event, Brgr provides an array of signature and custom options, including Angus beef, grilled chicken, Impossible burger, salmon, or even bison meat (the kitchen is extremely accommodating with substitutions for dietary needs). The restaurant also offers some of the most decadent milkshakes in town, with boozy options available for those seeking an extra indulgence." - Victoria Gough

This is the most casual dining spot at the Sagamore resort. Service is slower and attention to detail in food prep isn't as good as the other options at the resort. This seems to be the best spot to bring young kids for dinner. Might be worth trying if you're staying there, but I'd opt for Caldwell's or La Bella Vita instead.

Came here for the ice bar event... I thought it would be a timely manner because we were seated so quickly.. 10 mins after we were seated the waiter finely came to take out drink order.. it took 20 mins for us to receive 3 non alcoholic drinks. When that finally came he took our order just for it to take another 30 mins to come to the table, the food was cold and I did not even get what I ordered, i was so annoyed i did not bother addressing it. we did not get the truffle fries that were ordered. my mother-in-law ordered a nother drink only for it to come 5 mins befor the check was given... unfortunately we will never eat here again.

The hotel is the best - 5 out of 5 every time. But this new restaurant bugged me the most mainly b/c I ordered a wedge salad - standard restaurant fare. It was around $15. When it arrived I was shocked. A wedge is usually a half or a quarter of an iceberg head. This was a quarter of a quarter. It was two teeny tiny slivers (not wedges) of iceberg and then piled with all the good stuff. The iceberg is what they skimped on - the iceberg that probably costs 25 cents a head (I'm being generous). I was offended. I love the Sag but c'mon - really? Iceberg????

First time here! Great appetizers! No reservations needed. They had live music on the night we went, which was great. We also sat outside and they had heaters out there in case it was too chilly.
