Which restaurant patios will reopen June 2020 in Minneapolis and Saint Paul? | Eater Twin Cities

"I expect its patio to open next week; seating will require reservations and be at a diminished capacity, with social distancing enforced. Masks will be required for workers and for Minneapolis diners (but not in St. Paul). Minneapolis has relaxed zoning to let restaurants reclaim outdoor space such as parking lots and valet stands, though Mayor Melvin Carter and the St. Paul city council are still expected to address zoning concerns. This list may change as the date nears; for updates emailminneapolis@eater.com." - Joy Summers

We got married at the Chart House on July 19th, and the day could not have gone better! George and Lisa were so helpful throughout the planning process, and Tammy and Lisa made sure the day was executed perfectly. The outdoor space is a beautiful backdrop for photos, cocktail hour and the ceremony, but there is plenty of space inside for dinner and dancing. We loved the easy flow between outside and inside, so guests could enjoy both spaces throughout the night. The food and staff was excellent. The Chart House was the perfect venue for us, and we can’t wait to come back for dinner, drinks, and live music!

Beautifully spacious patio with a gorgeous backdrop. Perfect place to enjoy music on a summer's evening. I only went for a light bite but the food was tasty, especially the salad with Brianno's basil vinaigrette dressing. Special mention to my server, Piper, for being so friendly and attentive.

Google
The Chart House is an amazing venue! I got married there about a month ago and could not have asked for a better day. George was amazing to work with. We met with him a few times and went over the planning. He was so on top of everything and organized. Also a really personable kind person that really took the time to make our wedding special. Lisa was our day of coordinator and she was also great. She handled everything so I did not need to stress about anything at all. Everything is already at the venue and they work with so many vendors it made the planning so much easier. Matt the DJ also was a blast to work with and I got so many compliments on the music. The Chart House is beautiful with so much scenery. I am so happy I chose this place. It was the best experience.

Google
The wedding process was so easy and stress free. Fab weddings handled everything, we just had to pick out the details we wanted. Planning meetings were so helpful and they walked us through every step. You can customize your wedding to your budget and what you want included. Had many comments from guests about how great the food was. Staff helped set up and tear down at the end of the night.

Google
Monday night Big Band! The music is wonderful, the atmosphere exhilarating. I wish they did this more! It would be wonderful to see tango dancers, for instance. Like the Loring restaurant used to have.

Google
First visit for the twin cities vegan chef challenge. The dish: Caribbean Vegan Bowl Jerk-spiced black bean patty, jerk plant-based beef crumble, cilantro lime rice with Argentinian chimichurri, fire-roasted corn salsa, avocado chimi-mousse, and pepitas The portion was generous enough that I made tacos from the leftovers the next day. Each piece of the meal was flavorful, but the avocado chimi-mousse was the stand out star of the dish. I’d go back if the menu is expanded to include more vegan options or if they at least rotate the dishes so I can try new things in the future. I’ll keep an eye out for that.

Google
The outdoor grounds were stunning—lush, well-kept, and perfect for photos and ceremonies alike. The staff provided fabulous service throughout the day—friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced in making sure everything runs smoothly. Everyone commented on how good the food was. One area for improvement would be the groom and groomsmen’s getting-ready space. Compared to the rest of the venue, it IS way too small and did not provide any amenities. It was the old coat check area. This is where the wedding party had to keep all their items during the event. A more comfortable and functional prep area would really elevate the overall experience for the entire wedding party. Overall, it was a wonderful event at a gorgeous venue, and we would definitely recommend Fab Weddings at the Chart House for a memorable celebration!

Google
My husband and I got married at the chart house on 9-9-2023. We fell in love with the venue from the moment we toured it. We had the BEST experience using the chart house as a wedding venue. We had an outdoor ceremony and our pictures turned out gorgeous. The owner George was a blast to work with. He was so helpful and easy going! We also used him as our officiant. We had SO MANY compliments on the food and how pretty the location was. It was the wedding of our dreams. We couldn't be more thankful to George and the staff at FAB weddings for giving us a day we will never forget. I highly recommend this venue for your future wedding. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We've lived here for 25 years and through multiple owners the Chart House just can't figure out service. Patio is great. With the addition of Briannos Italian options the food is good enough. But none of that seems to matter when you wait 15 minutes for your server to come out so you can get a check. Then you catch her inside and wait another 15ish minutes for her to come out-without your check!

Susan L.

Yelp
Generally, I prefer not to leave negative reviews or comments as I believe it can fuel unnecessary conflict. I met two friends for brunch at Brianno's Chart house, and although we were excited to catch up, the experience was marred by a few issues. The $25 menu offered some good choices, but the roast beef was overcooked and too salty. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave twice by our waiter and then again by the manager due to a misunderstanding about reservations. It was disappointing that we couldn't simply be moved to another table to resolve the issue. I was shocked to see my friend being treated unfairly by a manager, but she remained calm and composed, expressing her concerns despite being asked to leave multiple times. The manager's aggressive response was uncalled for, especially since my friend had only had a couple of mild mimosas and hadn't poked her fingers at the manager's chest, as falsely claimed in the Google review. I'm heartbroken over what happened at my old hangout spot . Their patio was always lively with great music and drinks, but now those memories are tainted by a terrible experience .

Yelp
This is a lovely spot, especially in the summer. The menu looks amazing and knowing that Burnsville's own hidden treasure Brianno's is behind it .... I'm sure the food is excellent!' The problem (for me anyway) has been finding out when to go an and when they are open. I'll keep trying! But, sharing so that others will know that they might not click the first try ... and so far, the service here has not matched the deli counter. I am sure they'll catch up!

Yelp
Lakeville's hidden gem! The Chart House has such a fun summer lake front feel to it! We said it was hard to believe we were in the Twin Cities here! We chose to sit outside and said multiple times how happy we were that we did! There was live music playing and a beautiful sunset view over the lake front! We also saw some tables were large fire table for guests which is a fun summer addition! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful with the menu! She provided insight on what her favorite meals were, and answered all our questions! She was quick and attentive and that seemed to be across the board with all the staff! Now for the best part: the food! WOW! We started with the crab cakes and they were delicious! I did think they could be a slight bit crispier but that's my preference! We also had the Minnesota walleye and the Cajun shrimp pasta. Highly recommend both! The portions were excellent for the price, enough for dinner and leftovers to take home too! Everything was fresh and hot when we were served as well! Super happy to know this spot is less than 10 minutes from home, and can't wait to return soon!

John S.

Yelp
Live music almost every night and the food is top-notch. The first Monday of the month Swing night has a 18 person band that can really wail. The nautical decor can be a little kitc, but I think it's cool.

Yelp
I believe our server's name was Becca and she was wonderful--attentive and friendly. (9/17 6pm) I am disappointed the Chart House took their parmesan crusted walleye fillet off the menu since that's what has brought me in when I visit family in MN. You can still get it in pieces as an appetizer. I tried their new walleye offering and didn't find it nearly as good. They offer salmon parmesan encrusted instead. That doesn't sound good but I didn't try it. Had a fun night all the same. I love their patio with lake view. Recommended.

Yelp
Walleye was decent; too many mashed potatoes and frozen vegetables ( a few pieces of squash)!! The waitress disappeared and they ok a long time to get out desert order; the entertainment was decent except trying to get the amps balanced (huge feedback noise several times). No espresso continuing the new ownership is Italian. Better luck next time!

Bob M.

Yelp
We were fairly regular customers here over the last 10 years. But we've seen a rapid decline in food quality and service. Sad that it has gone downhill so terribly.

Yelp
Visited here for dinner and was SO surprised at how amazing it was. I loved the look of the restaurant driving up to it, looked like an old ship!! The inside was so cute as well, had port holes throughout that were actually fish bowls. Really unique! When visiting, they had a live jazz band in another section of the restaurant - you had to get tickets to get into the concert but when looking in it seemed like a blast! After being seated and looking at the menu, there was so many great sounding options was definitely hard to decide. The waitress was amazing and gave great suggestions on what was most popular. I ended up ordering the Brussel sprouts for the appetizer (highly recommend!), and the Walleye Platter with seasonal veggies on the side. The walleye was delicious and is one of their most popular dishes! Definitely recommend getting fish when visiting here, it's definitely one of their specialties. From the service, to the quality of the food, to the price - definitely recommend this amazing restaurant and can't wait to visit again for a jazz night and enjoy the lake views once it warms up outside.

Yelp
Very unique restaurant. Tucked away which is nice. Service is always great. I love their flatbreads.

Yelp
My grandma lives in the senior living facility next door to the Chart House, so we come here frequently for early dinners. Pros: 1. Outside area overlooking the lake 2. Walleye dinner with mashed potatoes Cons: 1. Inconsistent service and food 2. Expensive for what you get Overall, it is fine for a quick happy hour or if you want to sit outside, but don't set your expectations too high for amazing food or service.

Yelp
The Chart House's Valentine's dinner tonight was Supper Club worthy in my mind. Atmosphere, beverages, food, service and entertainment checked all my boxes for a nice experience Martini, tender oysters, fresh salad, filet with shrimp, Brussels and mashed, cheese cake, wine.. all good. The place is currently under remodel but it didn't really matter to us. The entertainment was perfect. Courtney Burton and Band are easy listening jazz as smooth as butter. You can even dance if you like.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to go here for many reasons. It was our 28th wedding anniversary, they had a live person for music, we had a gift card to the Chart house (or so we thought), it was not far from where we live and it was our first time. Unfortunately the meal was one of our worst ever. I will say our waiter was good. Then again, we waited almost 10 mins for him to greet us after being seated. Once we ordered, food came out quick. Salads looked like they had been prepared earlier in the day and been sitting on the plate for a while. We both ordered the filet mignon with lobster tail $45/ea.. The filet mignon was cooked to the correct temperature and was extremely tender. However they had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Extremely bland and disappointing. A complete cooking failure! Even one of the lobsters had a small section that tasted mealy. The Vienna style bread tasted good. Far too much mashed potato's and the vegetables were just okay. The food temperature was lukewarm at best. Our dessert, carrot cake, was very dry. Lastly, we learned that despite all the signage outside, on the website, etc. this place is not associated to the Nationally recognized Chart House and would not take our gift card! They had a tiny 1inch box on the menu saying they don't take them. Sorry, that was misleading and disingenuous! Make your wait staff say it up front. Put a warning on the website when booking reservations. Despite the close proximity and good music, we will never go back here again.

Yelp
Great location off the lake, with a great patio. In the summertime there is live music which is nice. The service is good, the food and drinks are good, and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
I've only been here once. It was in June for my birthday. Our lunch was okay. The patio was beautiful. The hostess and server were friendly. They gave me a free slice of ice cream pie - that was super kind! My son noticed the Tiki boat and asked about renting it. They told us no. They said you had to be older because they serve alcohol on board. About two weeks later, my son noticed the tiki boat stuck out on the lake...and went to rescue the people on board. The restaurant never acknowledged that this happened or thanked those brave young men, but the ladies on board sure did! Here's the story: https://youtu.be/M0bTBWBPBDQ Here's more: https://kathrynegly.com/2020/07/19/knights-in-shining-rowboats/ It was certainly a day they will never forget!

Yelp
We went here for my birthday dinner, and no regrets. Our food was very good! Great service, and tasty sandwiches. The pickle fries were SO dang amazing. I had a Cajun walleye sandwich and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan which was really good. They gave me a free dessert for my birthday, and it was pistachio pie. YUM! We will definitely be going back to try the flatbread pizza or appetizers. They have live music and a nice patio by the lake. We went on a Wednesday night, and it was very busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Yelp
I've lived in the S Metro all my life and never had ventured to the Charthouse. It has a great nautical theme. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge (music was starting at 7) or in the dining room. We chose dining. They did have bread service and slightly bummed it wasn't warm. We ordered the Vegetarian platter & Cajun walleye sandwhich. Both were good. Also had pickle fries which were a great add and have usually only tried pickle chips before. Giving 4 stars because it took almost 5 min for someone to greet us after having been sat. Our server was good once we were spotted.

Yelp
We recently moved to Lakeville and had heard good things about the Chart House so we decided to stop and give it a try. First off, the moment you drive into the parking lot, you are aware of the uniqueness of the location. The restaurant is built on a peninsula that juts out into Kingsley Lake, which is a good size lake almost devoid of any development. What that means is a beautiful, wild lake that offers some great views of water fowl and other critters. Since they are on such a great view, they offer a large patio and surrounding green that offers many views of the lake and surrounding areas. Did I also mention that they have a sailboat built right through the whole building? Pretty cool. They carry that theme throughout with kitschy nautical decor, fish tanks, and dark hardwoods - which personally, I absolutely love. The menu when we went was limited due to COVID-19 but there was a decent selection of sandwiches, wraps, and main entrees. The appetizers are served as platters and a pretty big. If you get a wrap or sandwich, go with either the sweet potato fries or onion rings - both are great options. Portion size to price range is a little more spendy than other places but then again this is billed more as a white collar country club than just your local Applebees or other chain supper club. The one downside that I knocked a star off for is that sometimes the feeling of a white collar country club bleeds into the atmosphere a little bit too much. When we went, there was a very large table of polo wearing, cigar smoking, beer jugging dudes that were very loud and obnoxious. This kind of ruined the whole patio experience as they got more and more drunk and loud. It would have been nice to have placed that table in a corner of the lot instead of right in the middle of everything. That won't stop me from coming back. The locale, view, and food are plenty to bring me back. I am excited to see their live music and entertainment make a comeback once this pandemic subsides. If you are looking for a unique place to get away from it all for a couple of hours and experience more of a laid back country club feel in the suburbs, this is a great place to check out.

Yelp
There are two sections the bar and music and dinner venue. I was in the bar. My first time my server, Brooklyn was a great guide, It's got to be connected with Brianno's deli in Eagan cause there is a great Italian selection. The menu is very seductive. I was drawn to the lasagne, a risk this NY Italian was ready to take. The piece was huge, stuffed and the plentiful red sauce more than delivered. I got a salad on the side with ranch. I loved the delicious ginger ale from the bar. I have to say the atmosphere is as cool as the menu. You feel like you're at the marina. I brought home the Italiano sub for Basil. It was delicious as well. Local entertainer Mick Sterling is the show organizer. He is featured as well as many other acts. Boomer draw, but all ages will enjoy this scene. I can't wait to go to the other side. Check out the website. They offer so much that you don't want to miss.

Yelp
Amazing place to go for a lunch, dinner, or a drink. The staff is attentive and friendly, providing top-notch service. Can't say enough about the chicken with wild rice soup. so amazing!! The Restaurant Manager was so sweet and made us feel like we were at home. Definitely a stop for me every time I visit the Cities from now on.

Yelp
On a nice summer day what better way to relax after work than head somewhere with drinks and dinner on a beautiful patio. The Chart House has an amazing patio and if you are looking for somewhere to hang out with decent food, this was a nice option. I have never really spent any time inside as I've always been outside, but the outside is a nice space with a fountain, outside bar, and all situated lakeside. The service tends toward being slow as they always seem to be really short-staffed. It took a long time for drinks and appetizers and we almost didn't order an entree because we were questioning how long that would take, but as the place cleared out from the Happy Hour rush it seemed to get a little bit better. The server was running around the whole time, so it wasn't for lack of trying, but one or two people can only do so much. The food itself was pretty good. We ordered the Sizzling Bourbon Steak Bites as an appetizer and it came out sizzling and delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The sauces that came with it were very good too. The horseradish sauce could have used a bump of horseradish so it offered more flavor, but the other one, the Spicy Bourbon sauce was fantastic!! For dinner I had the Thai Cashew Chicken Wrap and french fries and it was delicious. There were a lot of cashews, the peanut sauce was flavorful, the grilled chicken was good, and the ingredients were fresh. My husband had the Cuban sandwich. He thought it was OK, but it was not as flavorful as it should have been (more mustard would have helped). He had onion rings for his side and he liked those. Overall, it was a lovely night out, great patio, good beverages and pretty decent food. The prices are on the high side, and if you are in a hurry and not ready to just chill out for a while, this may not be a good option since things may take a while, but if you have time it was very nice and a beautiful patio location.

Mike T.

Yelp
We have eaten at Chart House many times over the years and always had wonderful meals. We hadn't eaten there for few years. When we were meeting old friends they suggested we meet there. We were really disappointed in the food. I had the Crusted Chicken sandwich with Caesar Salad dressing and Romaine Lettuce. The Chicken was tough, the crust was slightly burnt and taking the first bite I encountered a human hair. The bread was store bought. I didn't want to complain since our friends had chosen the place. The only reason I didn't give it a one was the service and server was excellent. we won't be back.
google avatar

Ana Z.

Yelp
Great - if you are a smoker? So excited to join friends on the patio for dinner. Gorgeous evening, beautiful live music, and great service... unfortunately a table of smokers were placed in the middle of the patio, so we left. Apparently, the patio is not a smoke-free patio?
google avatar

Marcia K.

Yelp
I was just about to write this review, telling how disappointed I was with my croissant sandwich, because the croissant was dry as a bone. Could only eat half of it. Took the other half out of the fridge, intending to warm it up and opened the box up upside down. Here's a picture of what I saw! My friend ordered a $25 entree and her fish was cold! Potatoes Luke warm. Whole thing had to go back to the microwave. A huge white tent covered the outside view, so the ambiance of fire tables were a bust. My advice? Don't bother with this place.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Food is mediocre at best, and over priced. It's sad when you have to pay almost $20 for a hamburger , and add $5 more for fries, and it's not even that good. Personally, the fries are the best thing on the whole menu! Meat balls don't come with any pasta, that's extra, and the chiclets you get for bread are a joke. They are like bagel chips. It's supposedly Italian, right? Where is the bread, olive oil, balsamic , and or butter, anything? Really disappointing, from what the Chart house used to be. It's great on the patio for a drink, but that's about it.

Lauren L.

Yelp
THANKSGIVING BRUNCH This was one of the best brunches I've had in a long time... and especially here. It was a 120 degree turn around from the previous brunches here Everythinf was delicious, not mediocre. Everything was hot. They even had mac and cheese and tator tots for kids. It was laid out very well so there wasn't any clusters. This was the best meal I've had at this establishment for a long ti?e. It was sort of pricey but well worth it. I will be returning next Thanksgiving. Kudos to the people who put the brunch together. Very well executed!
google avatar

Holly M.

Yelp
Way overpriced for mediocre food. Brian is should take a hint from their Eagan location and bring that menu to Lakeville with a few specialties. The only thing they have going is music and a great patio. If they changed the menu it would be SO much better!!!!
google avatar

Pam P.

Yelp
Patio is lovely and it was a beautiful night to sit and enjoy the view. Parmesan walleye was good. Cobb salad was great - quality greens, loved the cashews and honey poppyseed dressing. A piece of bread would have been a nice addition - but I get that some people order salad to avoid bread! Not too pleased to see the hostesses taking their masks off more often than keeping them on. One was chewing on a pen and they both had snacks and drinks at the reservation stand so.... Service was meh. Beverages took a while as well as the meal. No mention of dessert or drink refills. In COVID times I know we need to give folks a break so we will probably give them another try.
google avatar

Brenda G.

Yelp
Food was horrid. My salad was chopped iceberg with too many croutons and 2 cucumber slices, seasonal vegetables turned out to be the bottom of a bag of frozen carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. My plate was watery and almost 100% carrots with a couple pieces of broccoli and cauliflower. My husband had the meatball sub with inedible fries. The whole place had a funky odor to it. The service was nonexistent. We were seated at the bar, it was fairly busy at lunchtime. The bartender ignored us for way too long. I think she was bartending, waiting tables, cooking, serving, and maybe doing the dishes. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Love it here! This is one of my favorite patios to sit on in the summer, it's huge and on a lake. My family often comes here for get together, usually brunch - which is always so good. They have a wonderful buffet set up + omelette station. I am currently doing whole 30 and my diet is pretty restrictive so I was happy to be able to find lots of great foods I could still eat (fresh fruit, customized unlettered, veggies). They are currently adding a Brianno's Deli which is the best pizza.... Like ever. This is going to add so much to the space. I believe it's just a deli counter, but you HAVE TO try it. Their pizza and deli options are literally out of this world. The staff and owners are awesome and extremely friendly. A must visit for the patio and pizza / deli!

Yelp
Went to a wedding there. What a beautiful venue. The place is newly remodeled at just beautiful!! Their staff was top notch. Great food too

Yelp
My wife and two other couples took me out this fall for a nice birthday dinner. They had a little combo band, that played on a nice patio setting in front of a big water display. We stayed around after the sun went down, laughing, chatting, And may be a little drinking. The spotlights all came on for the water feature after dark, and appeared to synchronize with the music being played. All in all it was a fantastic night. Oh by the way, I think everybody's food was really good too

Kevin P.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to try the Chart House since we hadn't been there since the place turned into an Italian restaurant. We were both very disappointed. Our reservation was for 5:00 on a Friday night. The hostess was friendly and she brought us water. We sat at our table for 20 minutes and nobody showed up to take our drink or our dinner order. So, we let the hostess know that we were leaving. A table of 4 and another couple sat down after us and the waitress brought their drinks and took their orders. Maybe the restaurant was short staffed but that doesn't explain why we were skipped. It wasn't that busy. I gave two stars because the hostess brought us water and was friendly. We won't be going back.

Mary S.

Yelp
We came to primarily watch the Heart Tribute music event, which was off the charts fantastic, but we were really pleased with the food options/taste and the service. I enjoyed the FJ's salad, which was wonderful. My husband had the lasagna which was delicious and especially perfect for him due to the extra sauce. We were very happy with everything about the evening!

Yelp
I believe this exchange from the tv show Frasier sums up my feelings on the current experience at the Chart House. "Frasier: What has happened to this place? Niles: I know. It's like running into a movie star you worshipped as a child, only time has left her hair brittle, her eyes sunken and dull, her skin waxy and sallow..." I would probably choose anywhere else in the area over this place -- purely based on the food. The service was excellent and attentive (that's where the two stores come from), outdoor atmosphere pleasant, drinks were fine. Food was off. Flavors were not good. Menu was strange in terms of the offerings. Burgers and pizza and a few steaks and mains (that didn't seem appealing). Definitely below average. Not like the chart house when Captain Dan owned it, which was the social center of Lakeville. I saw that it was just purchased two weeks ago (writing as of 6/5/2021). I rarely do this, but actually spoke to the manager about my concerns. She was very willing to listen, polite, seemed interested in my opinion and also very attentive. Kindly took something off the bill. I think there's some potential in the future. Sadly, I would avoid it until they refresh the menu.

Yelp
I asked about servers not wearing a masks. The server got the manager or owner and said it's their right not to wear masks. He said we should go and not welcomed back. He did this in front of my kids. Don't worry I won't be back. He is obviously looking for an argument.

Afton O.

Yelp
Went to chart house for my birthday yesterday. I ordered a cheese burger and fries. while I was waiting for me food there was music on over the speakers on the patio and it sounded like a porno was on. Everyone on the patio look at each other with mouths dropped open. when my burger came to the table the bun was soaked in grease and the patty was so salty I couldn't even eat my burger. My sister and friends got food. one of them got the fish and chip that he said he wouldn't even feed it to his dog that how bad it was. My sisters flat bread was burnt and had way to much bbq on it. None of use finished our food. I then got a free dessert for my birthday. I got the cheesecake with caramel drizzle on it. It was so rubbery like it had been sitting there for days. I use to love the chart house and am now very disappointed/ sad in the new menu. None of our food was good!

Yelp
Excellent venue. Loved the new music event center. Food and service was exceptional. Highly recommend checking it out. Every seat is a great seat to see the stage.

Yelp
I went to the patio tonight with 3 girlfriends - all over 60 - for my birthday. None of the staff was wearing masks - all leaning over us very closely. We asked to speak with the Manager. After about 15 minutes, a man in about his early 40's came over and very belligerently said, " I hear you want to speak with someone." We politely asked, "Why aren't you requiring your staff to wear masks as required by the Governor?" (We had looked it up and confirmed that this was true.). He said "The protesters don't have to wear masks, so this is my protest. If you don't like it then leave and never come back." So we did. This is so disrespectful to both his staff and customers. Go at your own risk!!

Yelp
Will never go back! The 15 year old hostess said we could go to a high top outside and order at the bar. The 2 high tops were taken. Got a shoulder shrug from the classy 15 year old.

Yelp
We have come to the Chart House for holiday brunches before and have always been extremely impressed with the spread, quality and service, this time however...not so much. Outside of the beautiful decor, it was a complete let down. We were seated and we were "fortunate" enough to get the most unfriendly waitress on staff. I understand it's a holiday and you may not want to be there, but it's Mother's Day and I'm excited to be out to brunch without my 4 kids, so being treated like an absolute burden was not expected. We order our drinks and head up to the brunch line. I was so excited as I LOVE Brianno's and I was aware the owner had taken over The Chart House. Brianno's is in Eagan and hands down best pizza/Italian you can find in the burbs. So, we get up there and it was actually pretty underwhelming. I love protein and fresh veggies. I'm GF not by choice, I LOVE ALL GLUTEN! And they had gluten free pasta which was awesome, but where were the veggies? Crab legs were good, but a lot of work when they were over cooked and half the meat was dried up/gone. Hash browns were mind blowing good. I would have just made that my meal if it wasn't $60. Prime rib was pretty good, but everything was so decadent and no "healthier" options outside of a straight up romain lettuce bowl and fresh fruit. Sitting down to eat our waitress was not friendly in the least. Friend asked if there was butter/dipping oil...anything for bread as there was nothing at the line. Waitress let her know it was up there and she must have just missed it. Friend had to ask for butter and waitress (not happy about it) went and retrieved a couple from the kitchen. When she left I ran over and looked and there was nothing. After she came out I saw staff run a bowl out to the line. It wouldn't have been a big deal if the waitress (Lisa) wouldn't have made her feel like dirt for asking. Friend is eating and looks up and points out staff standing on the side with a tooth pick hanging out of his mouth and messing with it while he talked to other staff. Taking it in and out and handling silverware etc. not appetizing. People at carving station were also eating on the line. She points it out several times so I finally say something to a manager walking by and she takes care of it. People at table next to us lean over and thank me as they have noticed it as well. At this point we are out of water and friend flags a young employee down to see if we can get water. He is super sweet and makes sure to fill both of our glasses Waitress brings carafe of water over and doesn't fill glasses, just leaves it on table and glares at us. It's ok, I can fill my own, I'm not that person. But, I want to mention it was NOT busy at this point at all. Friend points out man at crab leg station eating again and I'm just like palming my face as I recommended this place. She goes up to get dessert, I'm not a sweets person so I'm just enjoying my entire carafe of water and she comes back with three different options. She takes a bite and is like, this tastes really old and dried out, I poke at it and it's completely dried out. We sit there waiting for our ticket to pay. I signal for the waitress and she makes direct eye contact with me and ignored me repeatedly. My friend wants to yell for her at this point because it's not busy. I decide to just ask another staff member and she was so sweet, but as soon as Lisa sees me talking to another staff member she runs over and asks if we need something. She brings it back and doesn't say anything, just kind drops it on the table. We immediately put our cards in it but she doesn't take it. We wait for 5 mins, yes..I timed it. She stands up by the kitchen and just watches the dining room and talking to the other younger staff. Finally I just grab it and ask another staff to grab it to which she runs over and grabs it out of the girls hands. This waitress was seriously petty and I'm wondering if I know her from some time in the past and have upset her? Friend is dying because we NEVER have this issue. We are the table you want to get. We are easy going and just excited to be out without kids. Bring her butter and fill my water glass and we are content. Waitress comes back with cards and walks away. We fill out the checks and go to walk out, I see the manager and went to ask her a question while friend was walking towards me and she busts out laughing because as I look over, here comes Lisa running towards me talking to the manager. Like, what is going on here? I know this is epically long, but I'm so confused at this point. To sum it up, we paid $120 to get treated like dirt by our waitress and watch the staff be unhygienic. I'm still embarrassed as I'm the one who picked this place. We went to Starbucks and I bought my friend coffee and a cake pop to make up for it though!

Yelp
They have an amazing patio and you can get a great sunset. Food is solid and a good beer list. Last time I was here we had our small dog along with us. She is a very friendly and a quiet dog but if an imposing figure catches her off guard she'll bark for a second but quickly calms down. At one point a bartender startled her while delivering drinks and I picked her up and she calmed down right away. The next 2 times he walked by he made himself big and stomped his foot towards her "jokingly" to get her riled up. Just uncalled for.

Yelp
Had the Surf and Turf special on Saturday. Excellent food, service and drinks. I will definitely be back. Might try the Sunday brunch.

Yelp
We book for a retirement party.. Outdoor patio. Paid $250 for "the space" There were 25 people with 1 server assigned. The food came out cold, multiple wrong orders, at dramatically different times!! Like one person at a table of 10 and no one else's order, did not receive some drinks. It was an AWFUL experience but most of all the "owner" George was rude, ungrateful for our business and our HUGE PATIENCE!! DO NOT BOOK HERE OR EAT HERE!!! If I could give no stars I would!!

Yelp
If you do anything in life, it needs to include the prime rib sandwich at the Chart House. The food here is amazing and they totally cater to gluten issues. They sadly do not show up in Yelp as a gluten friendly establishment. If it's warm outside, be sure to sit on the patio!!

Yelp
Possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. We had reservations for 7 PM and to their credit we were seated before a couple without reservations. We were led to our table only to find someone from the bar had decided to camp out there and refused to move despite a lengthy conversation and staff asking him politely. We were then seated at a different table but that table did not come with a server. After 20 minutes a server was alerted to our presence, she apologized and said she had just been told. At that time we also got our water. We ordered immediately. We were not approached again for another 30 minutes when we sent back one of our water glasses that had lipstick on it. Our food arrived 45 minutes after being ordered. The blue cheese dressing, and I hesitate to call it that, was inedible. It looked like greasy water with some chunks in it. I asked if I could have ranch dressing instead, it was only marginally better. My chicken cavatappi was in a word, horrible. The pasta was OK but the chicken was burnt, dry and about 1/4 inch thick. In the middle of our meal while the band was taking a break some old fellow in Velcro New Balance shoes took to the stage and asked the diners to sing the national anthem followed by the pledge of allegiance. His singing voice was remarkably like that of Kermit the Frog. Our server, Summer, once she was alerted to our presence was excellent. She said the pledge of Allegience guy was a regular and did that "all the time." I allowed that this was a dining establishment and not a sporting event. I was comped a portion of my meal which took "talking to the manager" for 10 minutes! The server hoped we would come back and give them another chance........won't happen.

Yelp
An impromptu summer lunch brought my husband, myself and our baby to this restaurant. I had visited once before for a friends bday and didn't realize on this particular day how close we were to the restaurant. We were driving around house shopping and attending open houses but decided we wanted to get a bite to eat and The Chart House was less than a mile away. We were seated in a shady spot, there were probably only 5 other tables with guests outside. Inside, they were setting up for a wedding. I had fish and chips and my husband got a burger. We were both happy with what we got. It seemed like there were two servers alternating handling the patio together and they worked as a team to serve everyone. Happy with the food. Happy with the service. Happy to recommend this restaurant to others :)
