This was a luxury experience. The staff is so kind and welcoming! The owner offered to get us mocktails (served by Marco!) since some of us at the party couldn't drink. They were amazing! The entire menu is to die for, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. My family and I had the bruschetta special and beef carpaccio for appetizers; the saltimbocca, lasagna, and linguine for entrees; and the lava cake, gelato, and tiramisu for dessert. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area! Just be prepared to make a reservation due to how busy this place is! Also be prepared for the parking situation since this place is smack dab in the middle of downtown.

We made a reservation the day after Thanksgiving. The food was authentic and delicious! The atmosphere made us feel like part of the community. We even had a chance to talk with the restaurant owner before we left — he was friendly and very personable. We were really grateful to have found this restaurant. *Side note:* We had Thanksgiving at Sam’s Club at Indian Springs Resort, and the experience was the complete opposite.

After being seated late (45 minutes after our reservation) the whole vibe in the restaurant was complete chaos. We never actually had anyone take our order we had to find someone to tell them what we wanted. And the food we got was probably the worst Italian food we have had. We all had separate dishes but somehow all looked the exact same. All was over coated with orange pasta sauce.. After we finally got seated and to make up for overbooking (we were not the only group who stood outside for 30-45 minutes past our reservation) they served us this dry bread with a couple olives in the middle. Not sure what that was suppose to be. Then we ordered wine which we had to ask multiple people for glasses for the bottle they left on the table. After we poured our own glasses since the staff was running around with juke boxes playing birthday music instead of serving us we started on the appetizer which was calamari. I am pretty sure this is what kept us up all night. Everyone once and while we would bite into something that did not taste like it should or was ready to be eaten. For my main I got chicken parm. The chicken was so tough I couldn’t cut through it. Almost certain it was frozen before it was heated up. This was soaked in a soup like orange pasta sauce with a side of large pasta noodles and a salad on top of the liquid soup sauce on the plate. The other two guest had two different pasta that again were in an orange pasta sauce. I would say by the time we sat down, waited to be served and finally got our food we could only muster a few bites even being as hungry as we were. Sadly this was a huge disappointment from start to finish.

The food was So Delicious 🤤 We were so impressed with the food and service; We Brought Family back with us on a second night!! My Lasagna must have had 12-14 layers of freshly made pasta and meat sauces🤤 Call or Make a Reservation on line because there were many couples n groups turned away because it was so popular 💯👍🏽

Bricco's narrow dining room of snug tables and walls decorated with intentionally (?) off-kilter paintings of Italian scenes is inviting. Good selection of popular Italian dishes. Good service. Enjoyable experience.

Luckily we were hungry when we walked in - the portions were huge. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the bruschetta, which turned out crispy and delicious! It was a good dinner, with everything perfect. The food, the people and the vibes. Must visit while in Calistoga!

Google
Bricco Osteria was an amazing experience! If you like Italian... this place is a MUST TRY in Calistoga! Everything we ordered was delicious: bruschetta, calamari, salad, penne vodka, linguine chitarra, and creme brûlée! Perfect after a day of wine tasting. Will be back soon :)

Wow, we love the food, the service and the experience. Everything was amazing! We felt so happy here. A place where people care about people. We can’t wait to come back again tomorrow and always. Thank you! 🙏 they made the most out of my birthday! Felt very welcomed and as if we have known each other! Amazing!

Yelp
"Cruise-Ship Cuisine for the Easily Impressed" We adore Napa Valley -- world-class wine, creative chefs, food that actually tastes alive. So when locals swore Bricco Osteria & Bar was amazing, we took the bait. Big mistake. The place was packed, service pleasant, and the food... profoundly mediocre. Nothing fresh, nothing inventive -- just beige food pretending to be Italian. If you enjoyed your meal here, congratulations -- your palate has achieved complete retirement. You owe it to yourself to try Denny's next; their artistry with a Grand Slam might just overwhelm you. Or perhaps revisit your high-school cafeteria for that same comforting lack of flavor. Lively crowd, friendly staff, and food so uninspired it could qualify for witness protection.

Yelp
We went here for lunch after enjoying a castle wine tasting. At first, the service felt a little slow, and I am not sure if the person helping us was the manager, owner, or bartender. Either way, he was very friendly -- though a bit pushy about ordering drinks, but nothing too bad. In fact, he turned out to be fun, helpful, and welcoming overall. The restaurant is cozy and you can enjoy the ambiance with a tasty meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and by the time we finished, the place had filled up completely. Definitely worth trying not just for their main dishes but also their desserts.

Yelp
Small, hole in the wall, with Turkish decor, just so quaint & welcoming. We arrived just as they had opened. Of course wine to start, followed by the beef carpaccio; done differently with the greens below the sliced beef, instead of on top, it was yummy. Onto a bowl of their butternut squash soup. Oh & don't forget the toasted focaccia. We sat, took our time, the ever to gracious waiter, Marco, is that really your name?, allowed us to go at our pace. The mains were: the special fish dish served on saffron rice, and an order of the vodka sauce penne pasta with shrimp. And since it was a birthday weekend, dessert please. 1 affogato, oh & after dinner drinks. It's a small crew & they work hard. Our server was a delight.

Yelp
We ate here last night for the first time. We made a reservation on the earlier side, at 5:30, and were seated right away when we arrived. Closer to 6:00 the restaurant started to fill in a lot more. There's a surprising amount of seating for a smaller restaurant, and there's no question you're in an Italian restaurant with the music and atmosphere - it feels cozy and intimate. I ordered a dirty martini, extra dirty and it came out perfect. For dinner I ordered the linguini alla chitarra, which came with a plentiful amount of linguini, shrimp, clams, mussels, and fish in a light tomato sauce. The sauce is in fact pretty light, and didn't have a ton of depth to it - the fresh basil on top was nice and did add a bit more flavor. My husband ordered the four cheese ravioli which came with a plentiful beef bolognese sauce, and he really enjoyed.

Yelp
Took my bf here for her birthday dinner after the Roman spa . Arrived and got seated within a few minutes . Nice restaurant. Decorated accordingly. Service was fine . Food was fine . Lamb shank and was cooked well but saffron risotto was very salty. Maybe due to the fact that the shank gravy was salty as the risotto . Will I be back ? No .

Yelp
We dined here with friends recently for dinner and were impressed with the delicious and what I would consider authentic Italian food in charming downtown Calistoga. The night started off a little bumpy. We had reservations, but the host told us they were running behind about 10 minutes so there would be a wait. We ended up waiting longer than that (I would estimate about 20-30 minutes). At one point, I was worried they had forgotten about us and were seating other parties who had arrived and checked in after us, but we were eventually seated. We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of us were happy with them from the appetizers to the main dishes. I particularly enjoyed the orecchiette pasta, which had a nice al dente and chewy texture to it. The restaurant is small and popular. If you plan to go, I definitely recommend making reservations.

Yelp
Simply wow!! We came here for our wedding anniversary and felt like we were invited into an Italian home. The food was amazing! We got the lamb shank and a special of chicken cacciatore...full of flavors, delicious and authentic home cooking. Finished with homemade limoncello...yum!!!

Yelp
Arrived a little before 6 p.m. and was told by staff to come back in 45 minutes--easy enough, since my hotel was close. When I returned as directed, the same person who asked me to wait now insisted there was absolutely no possibility of being seated, something I've never encountered anywhere else. To top it off, he added a sarcastic comment about dining outside in the cold, making the experience feel unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional. It left me with a terrible first impression of dining in Calistoga--a disappointing introduction from someone who clearly didn't care about helping guests.

Yelp
Fantastic experience period. Food, service, and ambiance. The food... We started with the white wine clam and mussels paired with focaccia. Salty and savory just how I like it. Dip that focaccia right in the broth. Soo goood! Next, we had the Caesar and added large anchovies. Fresh, crispy, salty again and just overall delicious. The chicken spinach soup was a hit! Reminded me of chicken tinola- a yummy Filipino soup dish. Except this had cheese in it and it was perfect! And lastly, the lamb. Omg. This can be a shared plate. The saffron risotto beneath was perfect. Creamy and did not take away from the lamb. The meat fell off the bone. My husband was convinced it was ox lol Service... We walked in and immediately was acknowledged (by the owner himself- so nice!) We ended up sitting at the back bar with Archie. The best service! Would highly recommend having your meal there. Gave a more private and intimate setting as our backs were facing the open room. Ambiance is wonderful. Very Italian and family style. We love it here! Will def come back to try the chicken parmigiana per Archie's recommendation. Thanks Bricco!

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary/ my birthday weekend and had the best service from the bartender Erol. He made sure we ordered enough to enjoy our meal and not over indulge. The food was delicious. We had the octopus and chicken that was on the special menu. His drinks were also delicious!! Probably the best espresso martini I've ever had. The vibe felt really family/ Italian style, we'll be back again.

Yelp
The food were amazing with the lamb shank and seafood linguine (Linguine alla Chittarra). The service was okay and we had to get their attention a few times (didn't seem busy as we are there towards later of the night) but don't get me wrong -the staff were nice! They didn't see the note for our special celebration for the reservation. The restaurant was very clean, welcoming and feels like you enter a traditional Italian restaurant in Italy.

Yelp
After a day of wine tasting in the Napa valley, we went to dinner at Bricco Osteria & bar and was not disappointed. The food was great, delicious, and flavorful. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and drinks. It's a very intimate setting, great for a small celebration, date night, or anniversary dinner. Would definitely recommend. Service was also great.

Yelp
We had a rather frustrating experience with our reservation and dining here. We had a reservation, and were asked to move our reservation earlier. They then asked us to also pre-order our entire meal so they could expedite the service and seat another group after us. However, upon arriving the staff were not prepared at all. The meal took much longer than we had anticipated. They did not have our order when we were seated, and nothing was started until a while after we were already seated. The wine we had requested for beforehand was also unavailable, and we had to pick a new option. Appetizers: Calamari: Their calamari is also served with some cauliflower. I personally enjoyed the cauliflower more than the calamari, but it's a bit deceptive on the portion size. House Focaccia: This is for $7, but comes as a decent portion. It's nicely toasted, and goes well with the olive oil they have at the table. Antipasto Misto: This is a nice sampler plate, with a variety of items to share. The portion size was solid, and it was also served with some focaccia Entree: Orecchiette Con Salsiccia: The pasta was fairly average. The sauce was a bit oily yet light in flavor. The dish is a touch spicy, which was a bit too spicy for kids. I'd skip on this dish next time. Chicken Parmigiano: This was decent, with a pretty good portion and served with a side of pasta. The tagliatelle was nicely cooked to al dente and with a good sauce with it as well. Dessert: We tried various desserts, including cheesecake, tiramisu, and creme brulee. We had pre-ordered the lava cake, but they swapped the dessert out without telling us. We asked about it afterwards, and only then did they say they were out of the lava cake and substituted it. Much of the disappointment from our meal was with the service. The food was average, but the service lessened our enjoyment of the meal. The team was not prepared for us, and they made substitutions to our order without confirming with us. If you're having a craving for Italian food, this could be the spot. However, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here and the service left much to be desired.

Yelp
Good food at reasonable prices. Dined here a couple of times now and each time the food has always been excellent. Nice Caesar salad. Veal and a couple of pasta dishes we tried were great also. Friendly efficient service.

Yelp
Great experience with EXCELLENT service. This restaurant is long and narrow and has all of the charm of a quaint Italian spot. Classic menu with all of the favs - we had the bruschetta, the parmigiana, and the lava cake and everything was good. The food was all well-prepared and a solid 4 stars (lacking 1 star because of the odd presentation), but the incredible service makes this place a solid 5 star experience and we will be back.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! Crossed upon this restaurant randomly and so glad we did! We really enjoyed the calamari and linguine. The linguine had shrimp, clams, & sea bass which was delicious! Our server Eric was amazing and attentive. Service was excellent and ambiance was nice. Would definitely come back to try more food on their menu! Thank you!!

Yelp
Our party of three tried this restaurant on a Friday evening. The place was not crowded at 7pm and were seated promptly. The good.... Food is good, weird presentation and huge bowl but we enjoyed all entrees. The bad... the place is small, they have 3 waiters and all were attending to us. I like that they come to check in but one waiter we asked for drinks, never came back, we asked the other waiter again and he said ok but never came back. It's disorganized.

Yelp
My birthday falls on Saint Patrick's Day, and my boyfriend planned a wonderful Calistoga trip to celebrate. While walking through downtown Calistoga at night, we passed Bricco, which was packed while other restaurants were mostly empty. I told my boyfriend I'd love to try it, but he had already booked two Michelin-starred restaurants. Fortunately, on March 17th, after our late 4pm checkout from the Four Seasons Hotel, we walked in without a reservation and luckily got a table! The food was authentic and delicious, making it the perfect final dinner in Calistoga. Bricco was just as enjoyable as the Michelin-starred spots, and our waiter, Erich, was incredibly warm and friendly. I highly recommend making a reservation, as we were just lucky to get in early. If you're in Calistoga, Bricco is a must-visit!

Yelp
Perfect for any occasion; Date night, special celebration or simply to indulge in great Italian food. The ambience was a balance between relaxing and elegance. The hospitality was exceptional and the staff was passionate. Family friendly for my toddler and infant. For appetizers, calamari and three cheese risotto. For Primi, the linguine with clams and lamb shank which was fall-off-the-bone exquisite. To top it off the server, Ugur was a phenomenal bartender and crafted my wife and I several cocktails which were all memorable. We recommend the deserts (tiramisu and chocolate cake) as well to end the night.

Yelp
The ribeye and chicken parmigiana were absolutely delicious! Our server was attentive, kind, and made the evening enjoyable. The side vegetables, however, were a little bland for my taste. One thing to note--we were charged a large party fee for a table of 5, which I've typically only seen applied to parties of 6 or more.

Yelp
Great food and very warm service! Punches well above expectations - my wife and I particularly loved the saffron risotto!

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place more stars - the owner is a sweetheart and the food not bad. This was also highly recommended by locals - so I definitely wanted to give this place my patronage. But I was a little disappointed with flavors and quite displeased with the services ... given Saturday night will be busy - I'd hope the staff would be beer trained and prepared to handle the guests. Our food came quite late, at different times making the meal with friends a little less enjoyable. Ossobuco was tender but could use a bit more flavor, linguini with Alfredo was as expected- I would have loved some freshly ground parm on it, but our server was too busy and I didn't care to bother him for it. My friends had fish and said it was good. All in all - we had a good time and we might be back on a quieter night.

Yelp
Friendly staff and ambience was bright and good energy. After getting our food and enjoyed the salad, soup, focaccia and clams/mussel , we understood why! Everything tasted clean, fresh and so tasty!

Yelp
10/10 experience. We didn't even step into the restaurant yet and Eric greeted us with kindness. A table wasn't available so he sat us outside with a glass of champagne and even turned on music for us. The food was delicious. We started with calamari and focaccia, 10/10. Then we each ordered a pasta and all shared. We ordered the linguine alla chitarra, penne alla vodka, and chicken Parmesan which were all so so yummy. For dessert we finished with chocolate gelato and tiramisu which were also delicious. Overall, very authentic taste, vibe, and customer service. Eric was awesome and we'll definitely be back in the future!!!

Yelp

Yelp
I wanted to check this place out based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. We had the tri-color salad and foccacia to start. Both were excellent. They grill the foccacia to give it a crispy texture. I had the salmon with risotto and my wife had the sea bass. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. There was just one server and he was busting his butt to cover everyone efficiently. I wanted to cancel our other dinner reservations the second night to eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know why this place has so many good reviews, it was mediocre to be honest. We got calamari, seafood pasta and osso busco, and some cocktails. Calamari was good. Pasta was overcooked and soggy. The seafood was ok. Osso busco wasn't bad. The cocktails were pretty string. I felt sick after drinking it.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing but the service was very disappointing, we were never told the specials only knew about them because the table next to us sat 20 mins after we ordered, once our food came we were never offered fresh graded Parmesan cheese, our server never came to see how our meal was our water glasses were never filled until the owner came over, then once they cleared our plates it took another 20 mins with not drinks or water for us to get our check.

Heidi C.

Yelp
Where do I start? This establishment was recommended by locals so we decided to give them a try based on this an yelp reviews. The place was busy at 5pm which was a good sign, right? Wrong!! I haven't had a meal this bad in years. Chicken parmesiano was not fresh by any means and the gravy, er sauce, was thick and lacked marinara characteristics.... it was a weird pastey concoction. The pasta.....meh. Nothing remotely remarkable. Fresh frozen comes to mind. The bruschetta.... just odd. Reminded me of Pico de gallo without the cilantro on toast. Hispanic Italian infusion? LOL. The gin and tonic was excellent, as was the wine. The cheesecake..... def fresh frozen, bland, mushy crust.... we took one bite and had to laugh... why would we expect anything better after that meal????!! This place is fine if you enjoy tasteless, pre frozen cuisine. For me, this restaurant is a HARD no. Service was fine, btw, overly friendly staff.... felt like over compensation... as if they knew their food was crap.

Courtney M.

Yelp
The customer service and food were amazing! We reserved a table at 7:30 at dinner time and it was a bit busy. We were seated around 7:45 but received a complimentary champagne and a Shirley temple for the wait! Our server Eric, the hostess's and owner were so kind and made sure we were comfortable. Along with the great service, the food was amazing! Anything you order on the menu you will definitely enjoy. Overall amazing restaurant and recommend it to anyone visiting Calistoga!

Yelp
10000000/10. Oh my goodness this place was AMAZING. The service, the food, the wine--everything was perfect. And we had the BEST server, Eric! Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable. Would highly recommend this restaurant to any and every one!

Yelp
3.5 stars. Boisterous and lively dining room, above average Italian American fare, with attentive service. It was loud. We had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation to be seated because they were so behind. It was just my wife and I, so waiting wasn't such a big deal. However if we had brought our kids with us, it would have been rough. The calamari was delicious. Rings and tentacles fried to a crisp and full of flavor. This squid comes with fried green beans and onion, which I've never seen before, but really enjoyed it. The house focaccia was underwhelming. The crust was soft, as if it had been baked yesterday and sat wrapping plastic for 24 hours. It was still "OK", but didn't taste fresh. It needed more seasoning too. I really enjoyed the Lasagna. The tomato sauce was rich and bright. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The ratio of cheese to meat was great. This dish is a winner. We ordered a side of sauteed spinach and mushrooms as a vegetable. This was a very simple side dish that delivered 100%. Of course we shaved a mountain of parm on top at the table too. ;) My wife ordered the Osso Bucci with saffron risotto. The lamb itself was high quality and braised tender, but was under seasoned. The risotto was similarly a bit bland.

Yelp
Wonderful place and great meal. This new Calistoga gem is a great addition to Main Street. The staff were very attentive and the restaurant is very cozy. We sat outside and had a great view of the picturesque Main Street. We started with a bottle of Picayune Pinot Noir and the eggplant rollatini. The wine was excellent and the eggplant was good, but could have been a little hotter. It was busy and entrees took a while to get out. But when they came the order was right and the food was hot and very tasty. I got chicken parmesan and my with got ravioli with vodka sauce. The chicken and pasta on mine were very well prepared and perfectly cooked. The ravioli, too, was done very well. For dessert we got the tiramisu with 2 cups of espresso. It was a perfect ending to a great meal. Extra shout out to our waiter, Erol, who worked so hard to keep up with so many tables on such a busy night.

Yelp
Do a Yelp check-in for a sweet treat! I was greeted by the jovial owner and offered in or outdoor seating. It was a toss up, but we opted for indoor seating. They have wonderful murals and interesting light fixtures. They seem to specialize in lamb so I got the Lambo osso bucco risotto and it didn't disappoint. Sizable serving and a creamy risotto! They have wines by the glass, as well as bottles. A wonderful place to dine with friends, family or as a romantic couple night out.

Yelp
We found this gem of a restaurant while visiting Calistoga and could not have been more pleased with our meals. We had delicious cocktails then arancini, calamari, salad, ravioli, vodka penne, salmon pesto risotto. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was everything you would want it to be and more! We will come again next time we are here. A definite high recommendation!

Yelp
My husband and I went to a spa near by and wanted Italian food after, the concierge recommended this place so we made a reservation and headed over. When we arrived we were sat immediately, I like how he showed us three separate seats and let us choose where we wanted to sit. It's small inside but very cute and intimate. We sat down and ordered drinks. I order a red wine and my husband ordered Hennessy. Our waiter worked the bar and tables so he was pretty busy moving around but still attentive. Now for the food, my husband ordered the chicken Parmesan which was delicious the sauce was so flavorful and had this unique taste, it was amazing! I highly recommend. I ordered the lamb dish which was fire I can't think of the name but it is paired with a bed of risotto , the meat feel off the bone and the sauce was incredible, I just wish it was seasoned just a tiny bit more, I sprinkled it with some salt and pepper and that did the trick. We ordered the cheese cake for dessert and it was delicious! I will travel 2 hours to come back and try this place for sure!

Yelp
Such a great Italian restaurant in Calistoga! This was a close walk from our hotel so we decided to come here and made a reservation earlier in the day. The restaurant filled up as the night progressed so I was glad we were seated indoors in the cool. The service and food were both great, we ordered the Arancini Di Risotto, Linguine alla Chitarra & Orecchiette Con Salsiccia. We even got free dessert by checking in on yelp.

Yelp
Service was great. Very welcoming and you definitely feel that italian hospitality. The calamari was tasty but the green beans fried with it were old and tough. The arancini was good but it was on the cold side. I wasn't sure if it had just sat for a bit or maybe the sauce ladled over it was not heated first. It was still yummy. The chicken dishes were both dry unfortunately so I wouldn't come back for those. Figured if both were dry, it wasn't worth sending it back. Overall taste was good but had to chew a bit longer and harder. What we would return for is the lamb osso buco and the pasta dishes. Those were well done. I tasted the pasta that came with the chicken parm. Pass on the chicken but the pasta was really good and a must try.
