"This new(ish) spot is big on smoke: The food gets a hefty dose of it, and the restaurant’s signature whiskey cocktails are served with smoked ice balls. It’s a fun bit, but the big burgers (try the PB & Jay, served on a glazed donut) and pastas are also notable. Elsewhere on the food menu are highlights like the duck bacon wontons and smoked chicken mac and cheese." - Justine Jones, Eater Staff

Good service, food is okay. I don't like the table where we sit facing the right side is a kitchen door, The left side is the restroom door and very close to the table next to you both sides so you feel like squeezing in between ,that's not a good dining experience. In my opinion they should not put the tables there just in a hallway People constantly come in and out of the kitchen and the restroom.

Located by the Stillwater bridge downtown Stillwater. We ordered buffalo wings, 3 Wiseman hamburger, Vegan burger with vegan cheddar cheese, beef stroganoff- everything was very tasty. The buffalo wings were spicy - great flavors- one of the best buffalo wings we have had. The burger was cooked medium - just how my husband likes it- juicy, with very fresh ingredients. My daughter had the vegan cheese burger- she said it was really good. The beef stroganoff was made with homemade wide noodle- just perfectly done; the sour cream you can tell was also homemade. The breadstick was over done; however , I told the waitress- she immediately made it right by getting me a replacement that was made fresh and hot. My husband is a beer snob- he ordered a cream ale; he said it was ok; if you like a fruity type beer you will love the beer election. My husband likes homebrew Reds and Ales with low bitter numbers - cream ale was the only closest choice. We did not try any drinks- they had a peach old fashioned as their drink special. If you are in Stillwater, this place would be a great place to stop by for a fantastic meal with friends or family. Come early, we had an early dinner on a Friday night at 4pm with no wait time, by 5pm there was a wait to be seated.

So not sure of you, but I don't normally drive 45 miles just for a cocktail, but then you add in the amazing food and service and you have a recipe for an amazing experience. Oh and did I mention the incredible views of the historic Stillwater lift bridge from the roof. Food in Stillwater is amazing but this is by far the best...

I had three friends come up to visit me and all had dietary restrictions--Vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. We chose this place in Stillwater because we wanted to explore the town and Brick & Bourbon seemed like they could accommodate everyone's special diet. And, they did so without fail! Everyone loved their food, no one had contamination issues, and service was impeccable! I, myself, got the Wagyu Sliders and they were delicious! I loved all of the accoutrements--they certainly enhanced the natural flavor of the Wagyu beef. The meat was also cooked at the perfect, recommended medium rare. Great place!

After a long day of wine tasting, we agreed to give this spot a try. After being there I realized it was my second visit. We had a larger party so we expected the service to be slower and indeed it was. It wasn't so slow that it wasn't tolerable but noticeable for sure. The food was kind of all over. Some things were really good and some things were decent but nothing was nasty by any means. The place itself is really nice with 2 levels and outside eating. For such a large place the bathrooms are a real situation! There was a line forming because there is only one stall for women and one for the men. So maybe hold off on drinking till you have to go. Over all great place to give a try if you're in the area.

Google
Absolutely delicious food, great service, and a nice atmosphere at Brick and Biurbon. Everyone in my group thought their food was fantastic. I had the candied bacon flight for an appetizer. The sweet, spicy, and savory seasoning works well. I also had the "three wisemen" burger with carmilized onion, bacon, and blue cheese. It was a great burger. The service was great and quick. They have a good selection of signature cocktails, and an extensive list of whiskeys, bourbons, scotch, and tequila.

Google
We were seated waaay in the back in a tight hallway right next to a bathroom, crammed like sardines between two other tables in a dimly lit space. The burgers were solid but not life changing. I got the ghost pepper one (The Reaper?), and it just had some moderately spicy crispy things on it. The fries were good. I also ordered their blackberry slushy wine drink, and it was chuggably delicious. The team working there was very professional and good at their jobs.

Had an amazing experience this afternoon. Only stopped for a few drinks and an app. Maria was our server. She had a really disappointing 4-top today complaining about things that were out of her control as a server (temperature of food and amount of cilantro on a dish) and she handled everything so well, offering alternatives, only for these customers to decide they didn’t want anything other than to complain. Hopefully it was just a group of bad apples and people can continue to experience her great customer service :)

Yelp
The service and food was amazing. I am gluten free and Emmanuella and made sure I got what I needed. Will be coming back!

Madison H.

Yelp
Clean restaurant. Quick and kind service. Amazing food! Gluten free buns for burgers, their fries are not gluten free but they have hash browns which makes up for it. All around delicious and great dining experience.

Suzie R.

Yelp
For me this place is just okay. The food is alright and the service is just okay. Nothing spectacular. They do have a 3.95% surcharge to your bill if you are paying via credit card. I had a burger no bun on this particular visit. As a side note, I would check their website/yelp about their wait times. Lots of restaurants in Stillwater are located in narrow buildings so they don't have as much seating as other restaurants outside the historic zone.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on Sunday evening of MDW without a reservation and did not have to wait. We sat on the rooftop patio which overlooks the river, it was lovely! They have an extensive drink menu with a lot of fun options, including wine slushies. My friends and I all got cocktails while my husband got a bacon bourbon flight! We were impressed with the drinks, especially the blackberry and lavender flavored ones. I was bummed to see that their wings are bone-in instead of boneless. However, they have some boneless wings featured on their Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, so I went with that as my entree! The gorgonzola + bleu cheese mix was creamy and delicious. The mac & cheese was rich without overdoing it. It came with 4 boneless buffalo wings on top, that seemed like enough to cut up and mix into the pasta. Serving size was good, prices were appropriate. My husband got the Roasted Short Rib Ravioli and really liked it. They have string lights on the patio but never turned them on, which left us eventually sitting in the dark as we got closer to their closing time of 9pm--we figured it wasn't worth it to ask them to turn them on as they were about to close. But you'd think it would be common sense to turn them on for the guests dining there as the sun starts going down. While I wouldn't say anything we had was incredible, we thought this was still a solid place for food/drinks and we really enjoyed the river view as the sun set!

Joe R.

Yelp
Emanulla was wondering. What a great waiter. The food was delicious and the view from the patio was amazing!!!

Kirsi D.

Yelp
It was a beautiful evening for rooftop dining. No wait. Awesome and friendly service. My hubby had the smoked maple old fashioned and said it was the best old fashioned he'd ever had. It came with bacon and a waffle, which was a key factor in the enjoyment but the drink itself as deliciously smooth. I had a blackberry smash which was very tasty. It came with two ripe blackberries. We all shared the duck bacon wontons. These get pretty good reviews and they were good but I didn't really taste duck or bacon. I had the chicken caprease sandwich was was only ok. I should have know when 90% of the menu is beef, chicken probably wasn't the best option. My side was brussel sprouts which were quite tasty with a good spicy flavor. Hubby had beef trio sliders with a side of hash browns which he said was different but good. Others had variations of Mac and cheese and loved it. In fact when I was walking through the restaurant in a trip to the restroom, I noticed that at nearly every table, someone had max and cheese. I'd probably get that next time.

Jim L.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our Father's Day dinner, Christian was a great server. They have an extensive bourbon collection well worth a visit.

Ethan H.

Yelp
Food and service was delightful, the patio was very sunny and a little hot but had nice view of the river.

Kyle O.

Yelp
A nice and quiet pub-style restaurant in Stillwater. I'm not from Minnesota and just was meeting some local friends there. Had the smoked meat ravioli and the sliders the two times I've been there. The ravioli was the better of the two. Had a "smoked" bourbon for $14 that was all gimmick and no added value. Skip it. The staff are great. Our waitress was new, but did an awesome job and was very friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere that I'd return to next time I'm in the area. Will definitely try something different from the menu.

Todd L.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! Sat on the patio watching the river. Excellent drinks and great food! Tried a variety of items and definitely suggest burgers and chicken sandwiches. Will definitely be back!!!

Lynette S.

Yelp
Great service by Jaden and Haley! And the food was great. We had the whiskey BBQ w fries. Delicious!

Lindsay S.

Yelp
Our time at B&B was nice when we bellied up to the bar for pre dinner cocktails. The bartender was friendly and served up our drinks quickly. The crowd there that day was lively and it was busy due to the Snow Sculpture weekend. Drinks: my hubby ordered the Floating Yoda. This tasted like a White Russian with mint chip ice cream. This would have made an awesome after dinner dessert also! Apparently he wanted a treat BEFORE dinner hahaha. I got the Smoke Smash Sip. I had no clue what to expect, but I got my glass with ice ball, a small hammer mallet and a beaker type glass with my choice liquor. I chose Makers 46. The bartender told me to be careful and use the mallet to crack the ice and then pour my Makers over the ice. It was really fun to do and watch the smoke come out. I wish it had some bitters but it was tasty/ super smokey. Overall, this worked as a perfect spot that has great cocktails and friendly staff. Thanks for a fun time.

Brittany B.

Yelp
Emmanuella was fantastic! Attentive and friendly. Good food and drinks. Great place to stop by in downtown.

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Emmanuella gave us great friendly service. Duck wontons never fail & cocktails are amazing.

Yelp
Visiting the area for the weekend. Stopped in for brunch/lunch. I wouldn't come here all the time because it's got a unique menu but it was great for our visit. Decor was nice dark rustic on theme. Table split a bacon flight and a huge cinnamon roll. I got the old fashioned with a unique smoky presentation, and a slice of bacon and half a waffle on top. Everyone liked their meals. Service was fine, food was tasty. Prices reasonable if a little high. Wish they had more than single bathrooms. I would recommend it to people in the area who like bacon and bourbon.

Markus G.

Yelp
So I've been to the Maplegrove location and since I live close to downtown Stillwater I figured I would try the Stillwater brick and bourbon. We were sat immediately, the space is much smaller than the Maplegrove location, and the decor is definitely different. We were greeted by two ladies one was in training and the other had been there for a while, or so it appeared based on how knowledgeable she was about the two locations. We ordered drinks two waters and a lemonade. A My friend ordered the PB and Jay and my girlfriend ordered the firecracker shrimp roll and a Caesar salad, I ordered the Caprese chicken. The food came out fairly fast which is good concerning they were full outside and almost full inside as well. The one thing that bothered me was that the lemonade came back twice with something floating in it. The lady was new but I would have thought on the second time she would have checked it to make sure it was okay to bring out. She did make sure to take it off my bill. Prior to her taking it off my bill she asked if I wanted another lemonade and after the first two times I declined. Other than that hiccup all was good. I'll definitely return, because even though the server made the same mistake, she was kind, courteous, and really wanted to help us to have a good experience. Lastly, the food was really good, perfect temperature, looked really good And I would like to go back and try a few other items on the menu, so stay tuned.

Christina E.

Yelp
We sat at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. Bartender was quick to greet us and take our drink order. I ordered the cucumber specialty drink which was absolutely refreshing but honestly I felt like the glass should've been more than 1/2 full for the price. We had the duck bacon wontons which were AMAZING. The sliders I got and the sandwich my boyfriend had were average, but the fries were good.

Ashlyn A.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place to go downtown Stillwater! It's where I spend most of my birthdays and any other occasion I can celebrate. Great staff and amazing food

Luke G.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere downtown Stillwater! We started with the Bacon Bourbon flight (they love alliteration's). The bacon was great, and the bourbon was a good accompaniment. I'm not a bourbon connoisseur, but it was a good switch up. The fries weren't good at all. Zero crunch, all flimsy. The Three Wisemen burger was delicious. It was cooked a perfect medium. It was moist and delicious!

Brad L.

Yelp
This is a place you need to stop at if I'm the downtown Stillwater area. They have multiple seats around the bar and plenty of tables for dinner. It does feel fancier, but they don't have a strict dress code so you could show up in non dress clothes. We did a smoked old fashioned that was so good. It comes with a piece of waffle and bacon and was so flavorful. It's worth a try for sure! Duck Bacon Wontons are something everyone should try at least once. I will continue to order as an appetizer every time I go, it's that good. The Million Dollar Medallions were also cooked so well. I think they put too many tomatoes on the plate, but didn't ruin the meal. Think it would look a little better with less.

David H.

Yelp
Unbelievable. Duck Bacon Wontons. Smoked old fashion. Recommend. Mmkkkkkkjjjjjjjjj

Tracey F.

Yelp
Enjoyed our visit here. Do yourself a favor and check out the Yelp waitlist to see if you should get on it before coming out. It saved us a 2+ hour wait. The layout of the restaurant is a little cramped, especially back by the restrooms. If your table is right by one, you will likely have someone standing behind you the whole time. On to the food and drinks. The drink specials had a fun flair. I can't remember what the name of mine was, but it was a creamy cappuccino drink. Now that I think about it, it may have been called the Leonardo diCappucino. I tried some wings and the street corn for my meal. I liked the wings amd the corn was also good, but the "side" dish was large, I had someone helping me eat it and we still didn't finish it. I would go back and try some other food and maybe try to grab a seat outside or in the loft.

Jose C.

Yelp
Came in with my family, table wasn't ready and I understand. Lady told us 30-45 minutes came back and table wasn't even touched. We asked politely and the lady in charge or waitress was very rude. Did not expect to get yelled at in front of my kids. Definitely will never be back

Eric G.

Yelp
Came here with some family on a Wednesday evening and got rooftop seating right away! There's a beautiful view of the river and bridge from the rooftop, and the sun is obstructed by the building/umbrellas in the evening. So 5 stars for that. But it didn't stop there, the food deserves 5 stars too! I got the smoked chicken and bacon Mac and cheese. Comes with a piece of bread, too. Not too cheesy, and perhaps more soupy than one would typically expect but i liked that. Overall, super tasty and would definitely recommend! The mango wine slushy was also great on a summer day, heard good things about the lavender mule, too! Overall good food, drinks, ambience, and priced reasonably. Definitely check it out if in Stillwater.

Laurie B.

Yelp
We went to a wedding across the street on April 19. At a very tasty lunch there, great ambiance, servers were very personable. We liked it so well we came back in the evening for drinks.

Dawn K.

Yelp
Great drinks, appetizers, and service!! Kristin was our server and she was fast and kind and observant... made the night!

Liv J.

Yelp
Amazing view, service was fantastic and super great food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

J S.

Yelp
No good tonight (Friday). The restaurant was way understaffed. Drink orders took 15-20 mins and came out watered down due to sitting so long. Food also came out after sitting for a while so buns were soggy. No flavor in multiple items as well. If you're open, you're open. No excuses. If you offer sub-par service, then offer a menu with "sub-par service" prices.

Rochelle B.

Yelp
Great food and service. Yeti was exceptional and very attentive !! Definitely a must when in Stillwater !!

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Food service and drinks were all fantastic! I got the tiger shrimp tacos and they were incredible! The smoking gun whiskey drink is also a hit

Ben K.

Yelp
Been to a few of B&B locations, and it's a consistently good experience every time. This location is on the smaller end, but has a loft to add some additional seating options. Lots of fun exposed brick and metal accents give the space some character that fits the brand. Service wasn't exactly "quick" this time around, but they are always friendly and positive! Food is standard quality American cuisine. Started out with two different soups: Tomato Basil and Pastrami Crock. Tomato Basil was definitely the better of the two with lots of flavor and a side of bread for dunking! For dinner, I had the Three Wiseman burger. My biggest pet peeve is when restaurants assume we want our burgers cooked well done and don't ask about cooking temperature preference. Accompaniments were yummy, but couldn't get over the dry burger. Fries were pretty standard. Probably one of the more generic of the many restaurants in Downtown Stillwater, but a good choice for less adventurous diners.

Teresa M.

Yelp
In the words of a Christmas Story A++++++++++ Labor Day had our usual picks closed, so, we branched out a bit & stopped here. We've looked over the menu before but didn't see anything that screamed "must have" - so, we'd end up elsewhere. We walked in & were told immediate seating for 2 inside or about 45min for outside. We opted for inside. Service was excellent & our gal was in the know for all of the menu items. She was pleasant & personable. Table Service was on point. If I were on the fence here, the service one table over would have pushed me in the right direction. As I mentioned, there was a host seating guests. A group of 4 came in, 2 of which had special needs. The hostess was seating another party, thus, away from the podium when they entered. They seated themselves at the recently vacated table next to us &, when staff saw this, they went right along as if it were the norm. No belittling, no reprimanding, no sighs or eye rolls- just service with a smile. When the family saw others waiting to be seated, they apologized, clearly having not realized that it wasn't self-seating. The staff reassured them that everything was good - to me, this spoke volumes. We ordered & honestly expected good food, but nothing truly memorable. Imagine my surprise at what I'm going to list as my first crave-worthy dish in a long time. (Last was Saffron in NOLA) Every drink we ordered - beautifully presented & delicious. We ordered several. While we waited on our food, we took in the decor & it was well-suited to the bourbon theme. I could have sat there all day. I have zero complaints about anything & will dream about the NY NY sliders... yes, sliders - I know, I know... but trust me - omg!

Kirsi A.

Yelp
Very well planned tastes put together in creative ways and style. I highly recommend Brick & Bourbon to anyone who visits Stillwater. Our server was amazing!!! Sam knows the menu in and out. She is also a very outgoing local who was a pleasure to meet.

Joline E.

Yelp
We loved this place! The signature drinks are expensive but what you get for it is totally worth the price and the food is an outstanding value. When I saw "Bourbon" in the name I expected good drinks and mediocre food but the menu, portions, and quality were really remarkable for what you pay! We tried the Brussels Sprouts and the Tennessee Fire wings and both were well done, juicy and flavorful. The homemade ranch that came with both is honestly a highlight and I'd recommend you order extra for sure and pay a little more. My Smoking Gun Old Fashioned didn't just look cool, it tasted soooo good! It was slightly sweet from the Maple Syrup but lacked the overly sugary taste of grenadine. I really liked the crispy hot waffle on top more than expected. My husband's non traditional Bloody has a surprisingly traditional flavor despite the tomatoes being filtered through a cheesecloth. Not sure HOW they get it so clear but it tasted great!

John Z.

Yelp
Pretty good place - with visiting. The menu was kind of unique, great drinks and good food. Rather loud environment

Sarah S.

Yelp
We really love this place! On the drag in Stillwater it's always hopping! They make incredible smoked drinks and the sliders are the best!!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Terrible front of the house! On the waitlist, was told our table was ready, walked us back there and there was no table. Then they told us it would be just a few minutes, after standing there for 5 minutes I asked the hostess whether she could just text us again when the table would be ready, because there wasn't anywhere to stand, she agreed. Then texted us again and it was still another 5 minutes after we came back before the table was ready. She apologized, but didn't do anything to show me she was apologetic (a free drink...nothing) instead by this time there were several tables ready and we got the WORST one (right between the server door and the bathrooms) on top of that when I went into the bathroom there was no tissue or paper towel, again they did nothing but apologize. Our waitress took the drink menu away even though I ordered a signature cocktail. The food was forgettable. Reheated fries, overcooked brick of a burger. Drinks were nothing special; I'm not even sure there was alcohol in the second one I ordered. I have no idea why people would wait an hour to eat here. I will never come back here.

Guthrie C.

Yelp
I've gone to brick and bourbon for years and I'm sorry to say the food has really gone down hill. I'd say that maybe we had the B team cooking but it was a Saturday afternoon. They should have their best people cooking. The mac n cheese tasted weird, the salad was very bland, even the poutine was just ok. All that said, the server was great! And I still love the smoked old fashioned

Stefany T.

Yelp
Definitely recommend it, the staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is great! I love the Brussel Sprouts, they're so flavorful and very filling. I could make a meal out of just them! I also split a burger and fries which was cooked perfectly with just a touch of pink and very tasty as well!

Ranelle B.

Yelp
The food and drinks are amazing!! Would recommend this to anyone! The atmosphere is very welcoming!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Great good. Kinda pricey. Go for happy hour and it makes it worth it. Excellent drink options.

Kristina K.

Yelp
My experience was five-star! Good food, fun, and unique items, good company, good service, and a fun environment. PB & Jay A handcrafted burger patty covered in habanero jack cheese and topped with our extra thick cut bacon. A specialty honey-glazed donut is lightly spread with mayo, tart sriracha pomegranate marmalade, and homemade creamy bourbon peanut butter. Chicken Caprese All-natural chicken topped with fresh mozzarella, fresh bruschetta mix, and balsamic drizzle. Double Entendre Martini Zyr Vodka, Rosé, Champagne, Fresh Lime Juice, Cotton Candy, Magic! My mission was to order the duck wontons, but they were sold out I guess it is a popular appetizer item and by Sunday night they may be sold out just an FYI as it's not the first time they have sold out. I will definitely be returning to try the duck wontons.

Sara W.

Yelp
Russell was great. Very attentive. Food was excellent. Wonderful place for a birthday dinner.

Dawn C.

Yelp
We decided to stop here early on a Sunday to avoid the typical Stillwater patio dining waiting game. We arrived at 4:45 and were told the roof had a 45 minute wait - perfect! We causally shopped nearby and were seated around 5:30. We started with the duck bacon wontons. Don't skip these - they are exactly as good as they sound. The dipping sauce is magnificent. I had the short rib ravioli and the Mr. had the sirloin sliders. This is probably going to sound weird, but I was so glad that the portion of my pasta was something I could eat in one sitting. I hate paying for a ton of pasta when the cream sauce doesn't reheat well as leftovers and ultimately ends up in the trash. Mr. said the sliders were juicy and interesting and would order them again. We ended with the chocolate cigars, which could have used a few more seconds in the fryer (on the soggy side) but O. M. G. we did t care because the chocolate Nutella filling was the star of the show. Our server was a delight, checked in often enough but not in our business much. Everything was cleared promptly and all of the staff were friendly. Can't wait to go back and get another cucumber cup cocktail!

Genesis M.

Yelp
I am truly impressed with how delicious this place was. It defined was a wait for food because if how busy it was but when it came to the food it did not disappoint. Both salads were delicious and have to rate my apple salad in the top 3 that I've had in my life. We also orders the stake sliders and wow that was simply amazing as well. The ice cream sandwich was as big as two heads out together. Seriously craziest dessert I've ever had but goodness so worth it. It seems the award of most complex dessert. If you are trying to find a good place for a dessert definitely get a group of friends and order it. I can't wait to come here again and enjoy the energy and views of the river.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. I like that the menu is more unique. Not your run of the mill bar food menu. Service was also great. We got seated fairly quickly and the patio is nice with a great view of the river.

Robert N.

Yelp
Sam did an amazing job as our waitress tonight. The food was so good. This was our fourth time eating here and it just seems to get better every time. Thank you Sam for making our visit so special.

Kim A.

Yelp
If too busy for you on weekends, we find great service and food during the week!! Thanks for a great afternoon!

Shannon O.

Yelp
Sat out on the rooftop patio for lunch this afternoon. Patio looks over the St Croix. Had a great burger and our waitress was quick and friendly. It's much smaller than the Maple Grove location but same good food.

Debra J.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service and cocktails. Will go back next time we visit. We live in Missouri, otherwise we would be regulars.
