I've been to two other Brick & Flour locations. North Hollywood - Awesome. Glendale - eh, they failed to tell us our food was up to the point that it was barely warm by the time we inquired about it and discovered it was just sitting on the counter.
This location? Not much better than Glendale. We came here for a friend's birthday (why fast food was her birthday pick, I do not know, but that's beside the point). The two employees who took our orders were nice enough. They had 2 registers open. In our group of 5, three ordered at one register, two ordered at the other.
The first 3 orders came out in a decently quick manner. By my order and the person who ordered ahead of me....nowhere to be found. So we're waiting, and waiting. And see at least 7 or so to go orders go out. A couple that came in long after us got their food, so that's when we decided to ask what was up. Because everyone else in the group is politely waiting for everyone to have food to dig in, but now everyone's food is probably getting cold and soggy.
The guy who took our orders asked to confirm our names on the orders. Did a little back and forth with the kitchen and the other employee. Apologized that sometimes that register doesn't send the orders and then sent them to the kitchen.
Uh, if you knew that sometimes that register doesn't send the orders, you would think you'd verify that they went through in the first place? -_- I should have been wary when my friend and I both placed our orders on that register and were told the receipt printer isn't working. Alas.
After some more waiting, my burrito comes out. And after a lot more waiting, my friend's fries come out. Yay we finally all have food!
Also, I'm not sure if the A/C in this place was broken or isn't on or is poorly functioning in general, but it was uncomfortably warm in there the entire time, only made worse by being hungry and sans food for so long. I literally went through 2 and a half rounds of fountain drink before my food came out.
After all was said and done, my burrito was just okay. I had to cut it open to verify they added my cheese and sour cream to it, because I couldn't really tell in the first few bites. They did, indeed, but it was such a minuscule amount that it seemed pointless, especially given the upcharge.
Everyone else enjoyed their food. I have enjoyed other items from Brick and Flour in the past (house special torta, chicken bowl, house special tacos...) but the burrito missed the mark for me.
I also think maybe a dessert or something could have been thrown in for the excessive wait time that threw off our party's eating schedule here in addition to the too warm atmosphere. But alas. Won't be coming back to this location.
