Server was great atmosphere was stellar!! The food had the potential to be great but it was cold my bill was over a hundred and my 3 year old daughter got burnt black chicken tenders witch was replaced with fresh ones a small recommendation would be to add some fresh garlic to the spinach artichoke dip and maybe serve hot food or temp the food going out because It was definitely cold!!

I met my sister and friends here before an even downtown on the weekend and really loved the vibe! I loved the music playing and the service was great! We all enjoyed our food and finished our plates. Definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking for great food!

Google
GREAT FOOD, the cubano sandwich was FIRE, and I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu. The location is nice because it's right downtown in walking distance to a lot of stuff. The service and atmosphere were great. My wife and I will definitely be returning.

Food wasn’t too bad. I got the chicken wrap. Service was amazing. Our server was so helpful. I wish I remember had name.

It was fine Wings were alright. On the dryer side but not . Sauce was fine. Burger was alright. Mine had bacon. Good portion too. Big and thick. Real fine. Everything else was alright. Service was fine. Prices were fair. Overall: 6.0/10

Went for a girls night since I was in town (im from out of state) and had a really enjoyable time! The drink menu seemed a bit limited but it met the different needs we all had. And the food was delicious! Im probably going to talk about that whipped beer cheese for the rest of forever! I do wish they provided more chips and pretzels for the vat of beer cheese they gave you but its very awesome they give you an abundance of dip vs skimping like most restaurants. And the shrimp tacos?! 5?! Unheard of where im from. Full of shrimp too and very delicious! My one critique was they were a touch dry and could benefit from a crema of some sort (avo lime?). So good overall! Also, as an (apparently) elder millennial, i really appreciated the atmosphere. The music was good, and not too loud I couldn't have conversation with my friends. The server was very attentive and excellent too, which is refreshing as good service seems hard to come by these days. I really appreciated her. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Grand Rapids, and locals!

Ella was the best waitress we have ever been to and we have been to a lot of restaurants and she is the best way to risk out of all of them. They're everything is the best cheesecake is the best I've ever tasted, the macaroni has been my favorite for years always get the kids macaroni. The cheese curds are to die for. Highly recommend if you are in Grand Rapids for a concert go here and ask for Ella she is so sweet and so kind.

Google
Our waitstaff provided good service, the restaurant was very busy and it was pretty warm in there, I wish the patio would have been available but the atmosphere was good, and it wasn’t too loud to talk to each other. We all liked our food, a friend of mine raved about the brisket tacos he ordered. The salads were good too but the protein portion could be bigger for them. Great selection of beers for those who were drinking.

Yelp
After a full day of conference meetings, my boss and I were starving and brain dead. We knew we needed dinner, but since I couldn't compose a thought, I told him it was his turn to pick a place for dinner. (I'd picked dinner the night before anyway, so there!) He asked if Brick and Porter sounded good, which it did. (I was in no shape to make a decision by that point. lol.) So, off we went. The place has a good selection of beer and when we walked in it was already busy for a Thursday night. (always a good sign.) It said to seat ourselves and after wandering around we found an empty table. Their menus are all via QR codes, so make sure you're phones handy and charged. They seem to have some very unique craft beers here, and we had fun reading through some of the names which made us laugh. One was called "Perk you Later." Another was called "bean flicker." I still find this entertaining. Boss did order one beer that they don't carry anymore, so I guess the beer menu isn't totally up to date. Boo hiss. He did take something else, so I guess that's a win. Anyway, we started off with spinach dip which was pretty good but the artichokes were a bit chunky and hard to pick up with chips. We checked out the menu and even their food had hilarious names. One was a pork sandwich called "wilbers last squeal." They also had a burger called the sassy burger! I would've ordered it but it had a lot of pork on it and it was to spicy for me at that time. My boss got a pork sandwich and I went with their burger selection of the otto ban burger. My burger was extremely delicious! I literally was stuffed after I was done. Best burger I've had in some time, and I was pleasantly surprised with just how good it was. The price point here's closer to $20 a person not including alcohol. They have some entrees that were closer to $25 a person but I wasn't that hungry. I will say what made our experience classic was our servers. It was a young man and a young woman training him. Both were absolutely hilarious! We couldn't get enough of them both! They really made the meal worth it and if I'm ever on this side of town again, I'm stopping back in here to laugh hard again because they were just that fun. Go here for the wonderful food selection and awesome staff. It has a nice decor and a more traditional style with chairs and tables, but it's a nice relaxing environment. Overall a fabulous experience!

Yelp
Great vibes. Service was wonderful. The French fries are the best type of French fries. Perfectly crispy! A great place for lunch, happy hour, or dinner.

Yelp
My friends and I got together for lunch here and had a blast! You seat yourself and it wasn't busy so the service was quick and our server was attentive checking on us frequently. I had their mac and cheese with delicious bbq pulled pork and my friends had the mac and cheese with blackened chicken, avocado and pico de gallo and my other friend got their fiesta salad with quesadillas. Their menu offers a variety of options including burgers, sandwiches, salads, tacos and a bunch of tasty appetizers. Now that I've tried this place, I will definitely be back to try the other menu items and drinks!

Yelp
Good food , Great service! Definitely worth a visit if you're looking! Friendly atmosphere, beautiful restaurant .

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer and had really good service. Chase was funny and very attentive. Menu is good with lots of pub style food. Great diversity of MI beers!

Yelp
Their garlic cheese curds are amazing. Reasonable drink prices too. Only $10 for an Old Fashioned Biggest con was I'm pretty sure their AC was broken (or not turned on) which was very unfortunate on a 80/90 degree day. Not exactly comfortable to be sitting in the heat like that, but service was still sold.

Yelp
Recommend this place 100#- went there with my FIL and partner and my partner and I decided this is our new place! $5 off burgers on Thursdays and the beer of the month is Anti-Hero- $5 for a 20 oz. My fave beer lol. Can't wait to go back!!!!!

Yelp
This is a great spot in beautiful downtown Grand Rapids. I had some good brisket tacos. The cookie butter banana pie was one of the best desserts I've ever ate. And, I tried the fish, it was excellent as well.

Yelp
7 of us descended onto the Brick and Porter. A variety of us were more than happy with the meals. Great selection of beers and drinks. Great service from the relatively new waiter. He did a great job and took care of us quickly and efficiently. He checked back often. Will come back here, and recommend this to everyone.

Yelp
Great spot! Lovely outside seating and great service. Food was excellent. Ordered the ranch chicken wrap and steak salad. Good portions and very flavorful. The fries had a good crunch and color on them. I also noticed an impressive option for bbq. Good signage inside for the restrooms which were clean.

Yelp
Stopped in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night and received kind & quick service. It has a small and dark interior, so we opted to sit at a high top by the window since it was raining outside and the patio wasn't an option. My mushroom Swiss burger was delicious, especially when paired with sweet potato fries. My husband loved his cubano sandwich as well. Portion sizes were good and server was very attentive.

Yelp
It was a very warm day in downtown GR. Stopped into B&P for a lunch around 1:30. There was outside seating, but opted for the inside seatingside seating with AC. The bar was full, but there were plenty of tables. Server came promptly with ice water. Then cleaned our table. You scan a QSR code to see menu on your phone. Was told the physical paper menu is outdated. Ordered burgers. Both ordered "medium," mine came out well done and charred, a bit dry. But the fixins were plentiful. Burgers also came with crispy fries, a good sized portion. My companion's burger was cooked right. I found the place to be rather noisy, the music unfamiliar. Had to ask for silverware after our food was served. Overall, unimpressed with the food and ambiance. Will try someplace else next time.

Yelp
This spot has such wonderful food. It comes in delivery and the fries are still PERFECT not soggy, and the entrees are fantastic AND the French onion soup. Sigh. Chef's kiss. Love you guys. I have family visiting soon...I will be checking the actual location out. Very excited. I went the other day while it was very quiet. Lunch was delicious and I was expected. The French onion soup which was fantastic
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
Food was awful. I requested well done burger and received charred burger. Additionally the burger was not fresh it was a Gordon or Costco Patty. I also ordered a mushroom Swiss burger....i think the mushrooms were missing. I will say the fries were on point. Save your money.

Yelp
One of my favorite downtown GR spots. Have not been here in a while but still as good as ever! Our server was very prompt and friendly. Prices have gone up but still reasonable. The food and drinks were just as delicious! The serving sizes are large. Decided to be adventurous and try the beef stir fry. I was not disappointed! Also the Mermaid Margarita was fantastic! I ended up having two! We came for happy hour so was not too busy. It can get a little noisy at peak times. Highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp

LOL!" * Steak Salad: 3.5 stars more lettuce than steak, steak was a little dry but mixed together with Ranch was decent, a little more Bleu Cheese heavy * Cookies and Milk Cake * Raspberry cheesecake * Ultimate chocolate * 4 NY Cheesecake * PB Chocolate cake (my personal favorite!) Yelp
We went on a small road trip to Grand Rapids,MI and found this gem. There is street side parking that you have to pay Monday-Saturday. The staff was friendly. No paper menus only QR reader. The food was good. The Carmel Apple martini I got was just ok. The Ambiance is that of a college town. I would recommend the loaded fries and for dessert the lemon cake. (Sorry no photo) Delicious. My family and I recommend going!

Yelp
Really good food. I had a burger the wife a Cubano that I can't wait to finish later. A pub and grub on Monroe street, great wooden deco are good service. To be honest, the guy next me had a brand new Shinola watch and we got discussing watches and the world came to a halt. Will definitely stop in next time we are in Grand Rapids.

Yelp
Came here after a show at Devos..about a 5-7 minute walk. Lots of restaurants and places to visit along the way too. This place was quite busy for a downtown restaurant, on a Sunday evening, and we were happy to get seated right away. We ordered beer cheese with soft pretzel and tortilla chips and fried cheese curds. The cheese curds were fantastic, but the cheese dip was clearly out of a can and lacked any depth. The burger (meat wagon) was cooked perfectly and was enormous, served with beer battered fries. The steak salad was great too, with the steak being cooked perfectly as well. They have a special on beers (Bells Hazy Hearted) today and at $4.50 for a 20oz, we were pretty pleased! All-in-all, a great meal at a reasonable price!

Yelp
Good atmosphere They offer a craft beer of the month for $5! Great food! Friendly staff

Yelp
I have been to Brick & Porter a handful of times over the years and I always leave underwhelmed. They are a great location for a happy hour in town or dinner before an event. I think most frequently I've been there to have food before going to a hockey game. The menu is typically fine, and the beer list is typically fine. Nothing really calls to me. Most recently I met a friend here for happy hour (her suggestion). I do like that there are parking ramps close-by if you can't find street parking, and it's pretty easy to get to. I do like the vibe. This time I ordered the southwest egg rolls to eat, and had a local beer before switching to Guinness. The egg rolls were pretty good. Not the best southwest egg rolls I've ever had, but nothing to complain about. I did find it strange that my Guinness was served in a stemmed tulip-style glass. I've never seen Guinness served in anything other than a standard pint glass or imperial pint glass and it just seemed really odd. I should probably go back and try an entrée again, it's just hard to go back after having mediocre experiences when there are so many other spots in town.

Yelp
Very good food, I would recommend the French onion soup. Service is nice and timely. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Great spot to grab a few drinks and a bite

Yelp
The food was great and warm on a cold cold evening. Fast service for our large group too!

Yelp
Had unusual experience here. Sat at bar and ordered a beer which was good and then ordered a burger nothing special right. After about 20 minutes no burger but saw several similar plates go by to people who ordered after me? Asked server if one of those were for me was told no. Asked bar tender if there was a problem with my order she said she would check 20 more minutes still no food. Finally 45 minutes after ordering my food arrived. Was told server took my order to wrong person! Bartender apologized and comped my meal. Definitely not worth the wait. Would give them another try and be sure to check more frequently on my order

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Highly recommend the Sassy burger and fries, very good! Our server was great and gave solid recommendations.

Yelp
This old lady and her husband are on a road trip. Here in Grand Rapids, Michigan for ART Prize. Found this restaurant within walking distance of our hotel and we hit the Jack pot.......good food and good drinks! Please see photos

Joel P.

Yelp
The food is average or just above average but not great. The service is very good. My real problem with this place is that it is called brick and Porter yet they offer no dark beer!
google avatar

Letitia J.

Yelp
Ambience: we sat outside around late afternoon. It was a little dirty, and the tables and chairs were wobbly. After table hopping, we finally found a table that was sturdy. The table wasn't completely clean, to my surprise. Service: good! Our waitress was very responsive and the food came relatively quickly. Food: the pulled pork sandwich was very good! It was very flavorful and juicy. The bun was good. I really liked the fries - they were slight crispy but yet meaty.
google avatar

CJ M.

Yelp
Great spot! The salads and burgers were great! This would have been 5 stars but they were out with most of the meat selections on the menu and ran out of iced tea... a must try - if all the food options are in stock. **good iced tea!
google avatar

Marissa J.

Yelp
Went to Brick & Porter during my weekend visit in Grand Rapids. Service was quick and friendly. We sat on the outdoor patio which had a nice relaxing vibe and it was clean. For food I ordered the Wilbur's Last Squeal which consisted of pulled pork, bbq sauce and crispy onions. The bbq was the best part but the crispy onions gave it a nice crunch taste. Never ordered dessert but the selection was huge and very tempting! Overall, if you are looking for a nice place to grab a bite, check out Brick & Porter.
google avatar

Yelp
Omg. The French onion soup is a savory, umami dream! We also tried the cubano, pesto chicken sandwich, and tequila lime chicken. The tequila lime chicken is a little spicy -but super delish. All are definite repeats. Happy Hours on Mondays gave us a dollar off my wine and two off my husbands draft. Vega, our waiter, was really helpful with beer selections.

Matthew E.

Yelp
The food is always good. However, we also go for some good cocktails. Last night was not the case. Who doesn't have tequila! Who doesn't have bitters for a nice Old Fashioned! Go to the market and pick up a few things.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Back at B&P after 2 years (due to Covid) and found myself drawn back again. Glad that I did! The beer if the month, the Witch's Hat Defloured NEIPA was delish and a 20 oz draft for $4.50. Dug into the Ahi Tuna salad and a cup of French Onion soup. The soup had the nice classic melted cheese topping over the rich gooiness of an abundance of onions and bread. My one complaint on it was that it was served luke warm...I prefer my soup hot, especially on a cold winter night. The salad on the other hand was perfect...fresh greens, cucumber slices, red onion, Avocado, mixed with chopped cabbage and the Ahi Tuna sprinkled with black sesame seeds. The balsamic vinegar was served on the side. While not a large serving, it did the trick. A special thanks to the bartender, who let us sample the seasonal Sangria before we settled on our drinks.
google avatar

Alyssa V.

Yelp
Always a great time and a great meal at Brick and Porter. A group of friends and I went for 5$ off burger night and the burgers were HUGE!
google avatar

Elyse A.

Yelp
I have been back to B&P a hand full of times since my first visit that turned me off. Since then, they have redeemed themselves! Their food quality has improved, their offerings have improved, and the service has improved. Big fan of the beer cheese & the pretzels, fried pickle chips (the ranch!), and the boneless wings. For mains the chicken bacon jammer is BOMB, ahi tacos, and soup specials have all been good. Kids enjoy their food every time, too. I like their draft menu and how often it's updated. The last couple servers we have had, have all been awesome - super friendly and attentive. Only complaint is that it doesn't always present the cleanest - i think each time we had to wait at the table for it to be cleaned after we were sat. Also, it was so hot in the back of the restaurant last time that it was almost hard to eat. Good location, good drinks, and good food. We'll be back.

Yelp
This place is great. Each time I've been here, the service is great and the food is delicious. On two previous visits, I ordered a burger, and both times they were fantastic. On this visit, my wife and daughter joined after a nice evening of seeing the Christmas lights on Monroe Center. It was the perfect cap to a fun evening strolling around downtown. I ordered the buttermilk Tabasco chicken sandwich. It was huge! The chicken was nicely battered and crispy and flavorful. The Tabasco aioli was the perfect spice level and brought the whole sandwich together delightfully. If you're downtown and seeking some comfort food, give Brick and Porter a whirl. It's delicious.

Yelp
Great food! The ambiance is very nice too. We went with a party of 4 on a Saturday night and waited only 15 minutes which was really nice. Once seater, service was a little slow but thankfully we weren't in a hurry! We all enjoyed our food. 3 of us got burgers and one person got the chicken pesto sandwich. We all loved our food!

Yelp
Sat at the bar and service was excellent. Food was perfect and environment was very nice. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Megan J.

Yelp
Delicious food, good craft beer selection. The ahi tuna wrap was amazing, the beer battered fries worth every calorie. I liked the environment too. Not pretentious, but not dirty dive bar either. Just a cozy, friendly pub. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Brick and Porter is a nicer pub located on Monroe Center right downtown. A couple of our friends wanted to meet for lunch at a different spot but they weren't open, so we decided to meet at Brick and Porter instead. As of August 2021, they have a great outdoor seating area so we enjoyed our lunch outside. I ordered the steak salad, Nate got the Cubano, and our friends got salads - another steak salad and the cherry walnut salad. Our food took a bit of time to come out, but we were busy catching up. The salads were large and looked pretty tasty, although one steak salad had a generous amount of steak and one only had three small pieces of steak. It was quite the difference so I'm not really sure what happened. The steak was cooked to a medium (both of us requested medium rare) but was seasoned nicely and was quite tender. I particularly enjoyed the French fry topping on this salad - because I also LOVE fries (and their beer battered fries are really yummy). The salad comes with bleu cheese dressing which was the perfect accompaniment. I had a bite of the Cubano which was tasty but could have used a different, more substantial bread. It was made with what basically looked like a loaf of whole wheat sandwich bread you'd get at a grocery store. It was a little messy! Our server disappeared quite a bit throughout the meal but I imagine they're short staffed like everywhere else these days. Luckily we weren't in a huge rush, but something to keep in mind if you're on a time crunch.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was good. Service was good except for one thing. On business and my first time here. I hear a guy a few seats away order a side of loaded fries with his Deluxe Club. I order shrimp tacos, and a side of loaded fries. The server puts the order in. It comes out and the portion of loaded fries is more than I expected. After I get done with half of the loaded fries I realize she thought I ordered the appetizer. I ask the bartender about this and said I ordered the side of fries, which you can purchase in the menu, and asked for them loaded. She proceeds to tell me that can't be done and all they offer is the appetizer. (Question in my mind is why did you let me order a "side" of them if you don't order that anyway? She should have known then that I was not intending on the appetizer. ) I ask why the guy down the rail was able to. She said because those fries were a side offered with the entree. (But they offer fries as a separate side. I'm confused. She showed no interest in addressing her error on my bill and did not seem concerned at all about her error, so I addressed it with the tip. If a customer orders something you don't offer as a server you don't say "ok" and then submit the order different than what is ordered. If someone orders something you don't offer you tell the customer you don't offer that. It still makes no sense why if you order the "side" of fries you can't get them loaded but a "side" of fries with a club sandwich can be loaded.

Yelp
Weekend trip to Grand Rapids with my husband we stopped here for lunch. Ordered the beer cheese appetizer and the steak salad. We weren't a fan of the flavor of the beer cheese but still ate it, just a matter of taste. The steak salad was excellent, large enough to split. Service was wonderful. The outdoor seating was closed due to street construction, but we had a table along the window, and it was perfect.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Came for lunch while in town for a conference. Service was a little slow, but they also seemed short staffed. I had the Cobb salad. Chicken was very rough I couldn't even chew it. The rest of the ingredients were delicious. I kept my review at a 4 because the rest of my party greatly enjoyed their meal. Ahi tuna salad, Cuban sandwich, and salmon were the entrees enjoyed by the rest of the group.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Garlic-breaded cheese curds. A friend and I stopped by for appetizers and drinks in the afternoon. The bartender was so kind and helpful. I ordered a beer on draft and an additional 5 oz. pour because I was curious about a peanut butter stout. She said, "I can just bring you a small sample if you don't want to commit to 5 oz." So nice! The spinach artichoke dip was solid, but the garlic-breaded cheese curds STOLE THE SHOW. They are so flavorful and we enjoyed the varying sizes allowing for different breading/cheese ratios (haha). The ranch and marinara dipping sauces were also delicious, and I say that as a self-proclaimed ranch connoisseur. PS I reheated the leftovers to share with my husband later, and he loved them, too. We'll be back to try entrees and will definitely start with the cheese curds!
google avatar

Kylie C.

Yelp
Lovely birthday lunch. It's seat yourself inside and out; we chose outdoor. There are plenty of options on the menu (quite a few beers on draft!). The only things I'd "complain" about (which is why I went 4 star instead of 5): I asked for a medium rare burger and it was well done (but I was starving so didn't ask for it to be sent back) and there wasn't much flavor to it. The fries were the bomb. The sweet and spicy shrimp also the bomb. (Crunchy, nice flavor, not too spice & not too sweet.) I ordered the honey lav beer (Very good flavor profiles, perfect for a hot summer day). The cheesecake was a nice touch for my birthday. Not the best, not the worst. But definitely good. Our server was very friendly and didn't hover but was also present when needed.

Jay R.

Yelp
Amazing service! They said the wait would be 25 min on a Saturday, and they hit the timing. Would recommend the Tequila line chicken. Great flavor and cooked perfectly.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
We just stopped here for drinks, and I'm glad that's all we were getting, because the service was a little rocky. It took us a long time just to get a few beers, although we did get seated very quickly. The beers they offered were good, though. I'd be willing to come back and try it again at a time Im looking for lunch or something
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
The garlic breaded curds are a MUST! White cheddar curds served with marinara & ranch. DELICIOUS! We put in a second order after devouring the first. Also recommend the El Cubano sandwich - fantastic flavor combination of savory ham, smoky pulled pork topped with melted Swiss, pickles & Dijon mustard on grilled cheesy bread. Yes cheesy bread!!! Drinks...check out the peachy keen & Bloody Mary. Skip the chicken sandwich - meat was tough.

Yelp
Was craving some good bar food.. stopped by here and was a little weary.. service was great, burger was delicious and the beer was amazing. Had the sassy burger - pico and it was a warm delicious loaded burger. The founders fruit brew was delicious should have ordered an 8 oz instead of 5.
