"Northern Virginia Magazine restaurant critic and dining editor Stefanie Gans visits Arlington’s months-old German beer hall, situated right in the “thick” of Columbia Pike’s restaurant scene. Its beer-friendly food includes “heavy, carby apps” like “slicked, doughy” pretzels designed for dunking into beer cheese sauce. Deliberate German food includes bratwurst with crispy, salty fries and curry-spiked ketchup. A veal schnitzel was too thick, she writes, but with roasted Brussels sprouts and creamy, smooth mushroom gravy, “it’s a plate hardy enough for a backdrop of crisp German pints.”" - Tierney Plumb

This is without a doubt a restaurant you must visit! The staff is warm and inviting, and extremely knowledgeable on the food and drinks. If you love a large selection of beers on tap, wine, and custom cocktails; this place is your new home away from home. (Minus the in laws of course) The tots are taken to another level with the tasteful addition of beer cheese, chives, and sour cream. The mussels were perfectly cooked, not a hint of rubber that sometimes plagues a lesser chef. Do yourself (and your friends) a favor and check this new Arlington staple a try!

Great little watering hole with German theme. They've done a nice job renovating the place from the previous establishment. It's more open inside and has a warm feel. The beer selection is very solid. Some of the snacks are a tad on the pricey side. They give you two smaller pretzels for $12 - which comparatively is expensive for the area. Head down to the Beer Garden in Rosslyn and the pretzels are bigger, fresher and cheaper. Overall this is a great place and will hopefully be better when they open the outside. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

So much to say about this place. The decor is nice but the service is terrible. They staff doesn't seem to know much about what they serve, and whether or not they still have certain items available. They didn't have several beers that our table requested and certain food items, and it was the weekend! You would think that the staff would try more, but they seldom check in on you and just seem to be bored, like as if they already hate their jobs! Their food is terrible, the Brat wurst was super dry and just gross. Don't go here!

Good selection of beers and a friendly staff. Haven't tried the food, but I like the bar setup. Nice little oasis on Columbia Pike among the gas stations, motels and convenience stores!

Had a gathering for my birthday here. Beer selection is good and extensive. Was particularly pleased to see "Zäpfle" on tap. The attentive and friendly service was particularly noteworthy for the "revolving door" type of party we had. Consistently friendly, quick and available. Keep it up, BrickHaus staff! Food was good, though not above expectations.

Nice place if you are a beer drinker. Their spirits are so so. The place was small, but intimate. Met with long time friends after midnight so it was great and intimate for that. It did have some issues with being out on everything in the kitchen and the staff leaving a bit early. However, the customer service was good and paid for a round on the house for the lack of everything we asked for. We tried the black forest cheese cake. My friend enjoyed it, personally, I thought it was a bit cheap and quickly thrown together tasting. However, this place has an eclectic atmosphere and lots of potential.

A great bar, with a nice selection of local beers and a few German beers. We had a few appetizers, too, which were tasty. Having a flight of 4 beers for $15 was very reasonable. They have board games to play, if you wish. Good ambiance and good service. A good place to meet your friends for some drinks. The only drawback was the table wobbled. Maybe I should have told them that. (If the management is reading, it was on the left side (as you enter from C.Pike), in the middle of that wall.)
