The Most-Read Stories of 2023 on Eater Seattle - Eater Seattle

"In a tangled tale of globalization, French 'tacos,' a fast food innovation first pioneered by North African immigrants in the suburbs of Lyon, have now arrived in Seattle via Canadian chain Brick’N’Cheese. This is drinking food, a mass of meat and cheese and fries wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled like a panini — you can see why so many people wanted to read about it." - Harry Cheadle

I’m genuinely disappointed with my recent delivery experience. I placed an order with specific instructions to leave out the potatoes due to dietary restrictions. Despite my clear request, I received my meal filled with potatoes, making it impossible for me to enjoy it. This isn’t just a minor oversight; it’s a complete disregard for customer instructions, which is frustrating and disheartening. I had no choice but to throw the meal away, which felt like a total waste. If you’re someone who needs specific dietary accommodations, be cautious ordering here – they may not pay attention to your requests. For the price and anticipation, this experience was a huge letdown. Update 07.12.2025 - I wanted to give them one more chance and the same thing.. not recommended

Ordered the Classique...it was alright? The brick I received was just tiny compared to the photo and expectations I had. The ground beef, chicken, and fries are sort of dry and I expected the cheesy sauce to make it an overall more saucy experience. Flavor wise, not that interesting either and I had to break out the hot sauce. Interesting idea, but not great execution. I'll stick to rice for the filling in the future and likely won't be returning.

The French tacos are cheesy, generous, and full of flavor. Easy ordering, fast service, and the food was hot and fresh when I got it. Great portions for the price definitely worth it!

Big fan of Brick’N’ Cheese now 🫶🏼🤣 I tried almost all of the locations. They have the same kind of delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. I ordered the signature brick and my favorite cream cheese jalapeños. I highly recommend choosing the dipping sauce with the secret cheese sauce. Very tasty 😋❤️

This restaurant was delicious! We come here pretty often to get the bricks and they are super tasty the chicken is juicy and they’re nice sized pieces. It travelled well since we had a long drive but man I love this place!

These bricks are absolutely AMAZING. We saw an add on Instagram and thought we’d give it a try. We loved them so much we ordered them for dinner again the next day! The veggie option is great for vegetarians. They are flavorful and filling! Definitely give this place a try!

I ordered a medium veggie brick with spicy mayo and cheese sauce on side for delivery. It was packed well. Overall it tasted good. It had lots of fries and less protein. Spicy mayo was good...cheese sauce was just ok.

What a cool place! Made the trek from Orting based on an IG review. Did not disappoint, the Spicy Brick was awesome! Wife did a build your own with nuggets fries and cheese, will be going back for sure! Bring a big appetite!

Yelp
This thing is literally the size of a brick -- no exaggeration. Super filling, and perfect as a late-night bite or even a heavy-hitting breakfast. I've had it three times now, and honestly? The first two times I inhaled it so fast I forgot to take a picture (no regrets). I went down to the ghost kitchen, they really have the process down, and it shows.

Yelp
Ordered mate night upon arrival in Seattle. Took a while to deliver a mile but that was an uber eats issue not the restaurants. Sandwiches were killer and hit the spot. Would love to order from here again. Great Seattle gem.

Yelp
Ordered the signature brick. Honestly the concept is great but the food was blah. Fries were super dry and undercooked. Seems like the fries were not thoroughly dried before frying. Signature brick: 2/5, what a mess. The brick had very little meat and was filled with fries and random stuff. The tortilla was cold yet crispy and slightly damp. None of the flavors went well together.

Yelp
This place is like one of those Uber eats ghost restaurants, and it is pretty filling, but just ok. It's nice that you can customize it, but it also reminds me of Taco Bell. Service was just through a remote kisok in a locker room. In the middle of cap hill and there are a few tables outside.

Yelp
Ghost kitchen style so you need to order online and then pick up your order from lockers. Similar to amazon package lockers where you use your phone to unlock it. There's nowhere to eat at the location but we took it to a nearby park to eat Got the giant signature brick and it definitely lived up to its name! Was large enough to share with someone and still be very full. It was filled with lots of meat and fries and I loved the sauce.

Yelp
First up, this is not a physical restaurant location as far as I can tell - I think it's take out and delivery only, so no ambiance or dine in to speak of. We did delivery and tried the medium veggie brick and medium chicken and beef brick. They are more or less as advertised - bricks lol. They were tasty and fresher than perhaps I might have expected. They used good quality ingredients and the fries were solid. The packaging was not great though and I'm not sure if that was the delivery person or the people who packed it, but our sauce was everywhere inside the bag when we got it. I would order again, but it definitely feels like eating fast food the size of a brick so be prepared. Another plus is that they do have vegetarian options!

Yelp
This is a ghost kitchen. They run multiple "restaurants" from one place under different names Your order, they unceremoniously drop your food off in a locker, and you pick up and leave without talking to anyone. It screams shady and misleading There's no dining room or any real human interaction Despite that, the food was out way later than the website said it would be (30+ minutes delayed). And I happen to see an employee coming back from a Trader Joe's run during that time. I guess they were low on ingredients or something Food is expensive ($15 for a burrito) and incredibly mediocre, you're better off getting Taco Bell or giving your money to an actual business

Yelp
These French tacos are incredible! The brick arrived steaming hot, and the fries held up nicely. Good job, guys. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Yelp
We were very excited about Brick N Cheese and ordered on door dash. The burrito/wrap was very dry. It was supposed to come with cheese sauce and two additional custom sauces, and I'm not sure if they left them out, or mixed very small amounts in, but overall it was very underwhelming. We will unfortunately not be ordering again :(

Yelp
Its part of some uber eats order online pick up weird no human thing mixed in with like 8 other pick from a screen and order process. No where to sit and eat either. There were a bunch of lockers that dudes would come in and grab the food from to deliver. The party of 6 of us were so confused we just went to Daves hot chicken a block away. To be fair, I never tried the food, so it could be great. I guess if you are an uber eats kind of person, have at it!! I like old school social interaction.

Yelp
Ghost kitchen food - this is awful. Bland wrap filled with fries and cheese that you pick up from a locker, for $20. Ended up throwing away it was so bad.

Patcharee W.

Yelp
it's unique concept and it's more like burrito. I dont know why they called it french tacos but it's good. It's nice option for a late craving or grab and go food.
