I’ve been recommended to check out Bricks and Birch by my roommate! I was told the Thai pizza was a must-eat. For my first time entering this pizza restaurant, I was struck by the amount of light that streamed into the open windows. There’s plenty of seating as well indoors and outdoors. You can directly observe the oven and the flames by which pizzas are cooked in. I came in with the objective to find a good pizza for a potluck for my life group in graduate school. For the length of time it took for me to calculate how much pizza I needed and how much I was able to invest in, the staff were so patient and kind with me! In hopes to find a good vegan pizza for the group, I asked what they recommended and based on their recommendations I got the Veggie pizza, 12”, vegan cheese, gluten free crust. It amounted to about $25, which is a bit on the pricy side for a 12” pizza. However, it was my first time buying a vegan pizza for friends, so I’m glad I got to try it for the first time here. They are also known for their vegan pastries especially the banana bread which I hope to try someday soon! They offered sample m&m cookies that provided the sugar boost for me to drive to my potluck. The wait time for the pizza to be made was about 15-20 min, around 3 pm when there weren’t that many people. The pizza came steaming hot, and I can tell the ingredients were fresh. Sharing them with friends was a delight. I’m considering the higher price as partly an investment in the experience and presentation of the food - thank you to the staff who cares about these! The place is well kept and give me a sense of comfort. I want to give a shoutout to Adalaine for her exceptional kindness and patience with my confusion of what pizza to get. For my vegan friends - this is not a bad place to check out for some fancy pizza.

Cute place. My Caprese pizza was so delicious but very small. I suggest ordering the larger size. It was served on your average personal size pizza pan and you can see how small it is compared to the pan. But the flavor was great, absolutely loved the crust. You could add a salad to your small pizza. $18 dollars for a soda and a small pizza. Also this seems like a place for individual students to set up and work on their laptops leaving limited seating options for groups larger than two. I wish the air conditioning worked better too. Over all nice place to hang out and enjoy a meal

Been here once and will surely come back to try more options. Had the jalapeno cheese pizza. It was delicious but would hope they would use spicier jalapeños. The crust was delicious and the cheese. Portion was small. Had varieties of cookies for desert and they were really good. 👌

Not sure what's happened to this place. Used to be a bustling, really good coffee shop, now it seems to just be an over-priced pizza place. I've been coming here since it was the place with the teapots 25 years ago, it seems to have changed hands several times. The servers who work there don't seem to have any barista training and they are all 12 years old. I'll give you, they are usually friendly young men, but I've stopped ordering espresso drinks because they've fallen short too many times, and as a coffee connoisseur, it's not worth the risk. The food has been good, the soups and the avocado toast have been tasty. However, for the price, a bowl of soup shouldn't come with a plastic spoon. The last time I was there, it was almost completely empty, and the whole place smelled like bleach. Yes, I guess it was clean, but I don't want to taste how clean it is there. I'll still pop in once in awhile because of the convenience of the location, which you can't beat, but I don't get coffee there anymore, and used to regularly. I hope they can improve and at least get some barista training.

Google
This little spot is more of a coffee shop that specializes in brick oven pizzas. Came in and told the girl at the register for any recommendations so I ended getting the Thai chicken pizza which was really good, but it tasted more like a Vietnamese spring roll chicken pizza. Still it was delicious. I also had a cold brew coffee and I took a cookie home which was pleasantly good. I will be back soon to give the other pizzas a try.

Google
Charles, the barista makes the best lattes, highly recommend you come in to try his coffee. He’s super friendly, makes you feel instantly welcome. Genuinely the GOAT.

Google
This place has potential to be 5 stars but some really basic issues holding it back. It seems like it was everyone’s first day working in the restaurant business. First, I ordered the “Swineapple” pizza but when it came out, there was Canadian Bacon on it. “Canadian bacon” isn’t listed as a topping on the “Swineapple,” although the name makes alot more sense now. I’m vegetarian so they had to remake it. I asked the cashier if there are any other hidden toppings on any pizza and he said “no, that’s the only one. Second, they call your name to pick up at the counter but give it to you on a hot metal pan. I burned my hand picking it up. I asked how I can bring it to my table and he put it in a box. A couple minutes later, I saw another customer burn their hand and get a box. Again bizarre behavior from this restaurant. Either bring the pizza to the table or put it in a box BEFORE customers burn themselves. Last, it wasn’t cooked all the way. Although the outer crust was perfect with a little char, the middle of the pizza was raw dough and wet. That means it wasn’t cooked long enough or there are too many toppings for this style of crust. When I picked up my first slice, it immediately ripped in half. The other 4 people in my family also had raw dough in the middle. Not cool. The flavors were great, the pineapple was fresh, and my brother loved the pesto caprese toast. But this place has some really basic problems. The owner needs to pay attention to their restaurant. Include all of the toppings on the menu, don’t expect customers to burn their hand, and cook the pizza for another couple minutes. I’d give this place one more try if I was rich since the problems seem easily remedied, but they’re such amateur issues and not charging amateur prices I won’t return.

10/10 loved it. Best pizza and salad I’ve had in a while. Vibes are relaxing just how I like it. Will come back

Yelp
Came in based on friends recommendation Margarita pizza Bbq chicken pizza Little crispy Both pizza awesome Had an IPA also super good Service quick Guys behind counter seemed super cool Wood fire brick oven Ambiance is warm and welcoming Little pricy but yummy Will be back

Tracey M.

Yelp
Great place for pizza dough (I'm sure their pizzas are delicious - we just make our own at home)- dough is freshly made, and cooks up light and crispy. I recommend calling ahead to pre order and to make sure they have enough, but they have always been able to fill our order- so you don't have to wait forever for them to pack it out.

Yelp
Service here is always good! Always friendly and precise. As for the food, the avocado toast was just okay. It had a lot of seasoning on top and the avocado wasn't entirely ripe so it tasted kind of sour? The matcha was a little too sweet but still good! I go here often still but they just need to step up a bit on their breakfast food a little. Otherwise, still a solid spot!

Andrea A.

Yelp
Matcha latte with vanilla syrup i love the art! Great tasting matcha here. Also they just decorated for Christmas

Yelp
Fast professional service would come back again. Ordered the margherita pizza did not disappoint

Yelp
Ordered the mushroom Brie pizza online and picked up. They skimped on the mushrooms and the crust was a bit burnt/black in certain areas. It was just ok

Yelp

Yelp
Food: 8/10 It was just your average pizza. I do appreciate that it was fresh out of a brick oven though. Service: 7/10 The service was normal. Ambiance: 10/10 The whole food lab looks super cool.

Ren

Yelp
Food and service was great! Pizza is the best I've had in a while--their ingredients are fresh and crust was the perfect combination between thin/crispy/soft. They serve the food in to-go containers whether you're eating in or not, but the food was tasty. They also don't use any seed oils to make their food--Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Good pizza place in Redlands. They have a lot of creative pizzas that I haven't seen before like the Thai Pie. They have a really good selection not just from pizza but also baked goods that are huge. I would come here with a couple friends and even grab a cup of coffee since this place feels really like someone's dining room table.
google avatar

Margaret R.

Yelp
It was our first time here. We ordered a Ron Swanson and a matcha latte. The pizza was literally so good!! Perfect flavors. Super friendly service at great prices. There's plenty of seating for larger groups too.

Yelp
Bricks and Birch's wood fire pizza is a delicious and a healthier choice for me. As well, they serve salads, sandwiches, soups are served in the fall/ winter to springtime. They have several draft beers and a variety of some wines, coffees, gelatos, big tasty baked goodies and other offerings. The service is excellent with the work talent they have which makes dining here even more enjoyable. Bricks and Birch's central location is in downtown Redlands in a unique and historic setting. Literally you can walk to nearby A.K. Smiley Public Library, the Smiley park, the Redlands Bowl, the Redlands' Civic center, Downtown Redlands Shopping and other eateries, too! Even more is the surrounding residential communities that represent the classic and traditional charm of Redlands. It's a comfortable, and relaxing pizza/café with inside and outside seating, clean restrooms, you can study or surf the internet, etc. So, what are you all waiting for? Come try Bricks and Birch. Til next

Yelp
I was craving some coffee so I yelped a location near by and this is where it lead me. Im glad I got my cup of coffee and some pizza. Great friendly service. Good food and this spot is very cosy. Im surprised I haven't been here before. Definitely will be coming back here to try more of their menu

Yelp
Love this place. Everything on the menu tastes great. Parking might be a little difficult. Great staff. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great place! I come here regularly to meet with men over coffee. Seasonal latte's are great as well! Keep the egg nog latte year round! Rick Swanson with Ricotta FTW

Nika

Yelp
Really cool employee gave me the best recommendation of the peanut butter cookie also loved the orange cheesecake do finished It lol

Yelp
This place used to be great. They've recently hired a guy who is the cashier and barista with a bad attitude and poor customer service. I have been coming here since I was a medical student and it was such a great place... until last Sunday. The guy is a large, curly headed young kid with glasses who made us almond milk lattes with CHUNKS of white curd-like pieces. We immediately asked for them to be remade ... he said "it was the milk" and if he remade them they'd "look the same" ... I have been coming here for years and never have I seen an almond milk latte look so disgusting. Anyway, he refused to remake them until we asked him again to remake with regular milk. We threw them away and headed to Stell Coffee and Tea. Bad attitude, poor service, I'm unlikely to return. Before medschool, I worked as a barista and this level of customer service is unacceptable.

Andres E.

Yelp
I have to say this place has not improved as a coffee/cafe place. There is no free Wi-Fi at all and it's been a few years since they have opened. I remember thinking once this place gets Wi-Fi it's gonna be a hit in the morning and nothing has changed. The pizza is quality I'll give them that but for someone that studies or works remotely the lack of Wi-Fi really is a dealbreaker especially with so many other places that do offer it in Redlands.

Yelp
CELIACS BEWARE!!! Please educate employees on the precautions that should be taken if you are going to advertise GLUTEN FREE options. Nothing was gluten free, the amount of cross contact was wild! Unfortunately we will not be able to eat the $18 pizza we ordered for our daughter that has celiac disease! The pizza peels were covered in flour, and to top it off, they then used the same pizza cutter on gluten pizza and then ran it through ours! Gloves were not changed between pizzas and ZERO precautions were taken to keep our gluten free pizza actually GF! First and last time

Alexandre O.

Yelp
Amazing place in Redlands. I stop here at least three times a week for breakfast or lunch. I order their BBQ Chicken Pizza for lunch on cauliflower crust. The service is amazing. The ambiance is always amazing. For breakfast, I order an avocado toast with a large iced coffee to go. Highly recommend this place
google avatar

Arielle H.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times to the Redlands location as well as the Riverside location. The service has always been good and nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered the butternut squash ricotta pizza and Ron Swanson. I was skeptical of the butternut squash pizza, but I must admit this was my favorite of the two! The squash is not overpowering and there is a good mixture of ricotta. The pizza crust could have been baked longer, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Ron Swanson is your typical, safe choice pizza.

Monique B.

Yelp
This place has always been one of my favorites. I haven't been in years since I have moved. I ordered an online order the other day and when I went to pick it up, I was shocked at how dirty it was and was sad to see the B rating on the door. There were only two people eating in there, so there was no excuse for the dirty tables and floors. This place is super expensive for not taking care of their place. The pizza was good, but I was apprehensive to eat it after seeing the B rating and seeing how dirty the restaurant was. I hope they get it together because I really loved this place.
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
My family came here for the first time this evening. I thought the place had a nice inviting atmosphere. The young lady taking our order was polite and helpful and so was the other co worker. The pizza was alright but we all left with the same thoughts and feelings that we would not come again. One other thing I have to mention is the restroom. I visited the men's bathroom before leaving and the toilet was disgusting. I can't believe people make such a mess.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
Had my eye on this place for a while. We ordered the kale Caesar salad, the triple B pizza; and a caprese pizza. The triple B pizza looked like a real pizza - when we opened the caprese we were shocked. It looked nothing like the pictures online. No basil, the dough was undercooked. So much oil it was leaking through the box. Chunks of uncooked tomato on top. Not sure if they just wanted to get it out the door quick or they genuinely forgot to make it appropriately. The kale in the salad was rubbery and flavorless. The photo online looked like a beautiful pizza. I wasn't sure what this was. You can see in the photos the what I should've gotten versus what I received. I'd like to say I'd give their pizzas another try but with the prices, might just pass. Coffee looks okay though and the desserts in the case look nice.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza I have had. The dough was perfect. The ambiance was more of a coffee shop vibe but the pizza is amazing.

Priscilla A.

Yelp
The service was okay but the food was horrible. There was a hair in my pizza. I can see why they had a B score for the health inspection. The pizza falls apart before I could pick it up. The taste was just not there. If you want to eat flavorless pizza crust with hairs this is the place to go!
google avatar

Theresa K.

Yelp
The jalapeño popper pizza here is soooo good and it's fresh! Another favorite is the margarita pizza. A little pricey but worth it. Definitely one of our favorite pizza spots.

Bassam H.

Yelp
Scones/baked goods are excellent. Good bagel breakfast sandwiches and decent pizza. Cold brew for 7$ is excessive!
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
We chose Bricks and Birch as a coffee stop while exploring Redlands. It is more than a coffee shop, they make pizza also (they have a nice pit fire oven in there) located inside a beautiful historic buidling with a wonderful facade. Their menu is extensive, lots of coffees and drinks options (including wine). Their pastries selection isn't great, but they specialize in scones so we got a couple. We got an Orange and Strawberry scone (huge) nice and fresh for $5 and also tried chocolate one, not as fresh, but big and same price. We also got 2 small mocha -s here, too sweet. I wouldn't get those again. They have water from the house. Nice service, not crazy lines or anything, laid back vibe. Funky decor, lots of seating inside and a few tables outside. We sat outside and it was pretty nice. Clean restrooms as well. Nothing outstanding, pastries or coffee, but decent enough. Good place to try of you are in the area!
google avatar

Kendell B.

Yelp
Cute little spot in Redlands. I ordered a blueberry tea and some banana bread, both of which were really good. My friend got a holiday latte and a scone. She asked for the scone to be warmed, which they did, but by the time her drink was done, the scone was cold. She asked them to warm it up again, but they had a bit of an attitude and said they already did. Good place to work or meet with friends, good menu options, but staff could be friendlier.
google avatar

Sindy S.

Yelp
Great tasting pizza. The bread was perfectly baked. It wasn't hardened from baking in the wood fire oven. The place is located in a corner with no direct parking. We were able to find street parking fine. The cashier took our order was Joe Burrow' twin! The place was a bit quiet before the lunch rush hour. It slowly began to get busy and chatty. Very quaint nice place. Will definitely be visiting again.

Alicia H.

Yelp
the vegan pizza is amazing! we are so grateful to have found this place. The ambiance is great and my daughters love the vegan sorbet!

Simon O.

Yelp
Amazing customer service, made me cackle and relatable. The atmosphere felt very welcoming and cozy. I'm definitely bringing more friends with me next time.
google avatar

Meghan A.

Yelp
Redlands is full of cute places, but Bricks and Birch is a new favorite for me! Super comfortable inside, and so many delicious vegetarian options. I got the Butternut Ricotta pizza. It was scrumptious! Their unsweetened iced tea was great too, which seems like a weird thing to be impressed by, but I'm an iced tea aficionado. If you are too, I can vouch for this one. My friend got the jalapeño popper pizza with the house-made ranch and a banana Nutella scone to go. Everything was great and we stayed and chatted it up for awhile.
google avatar

Mona S.

Yelp
This place was OK. I'm hoping I caught them on a bad day because I wanted to like it. My pizza came out kind of burnt beyond what you would expect for the edges of of a Woodfire pizza. My salad was lack luster and didn't have enough dressing. We asked for extra dressing, etc., but had to ask a couple times to actually get it.

Justin N.

Yelp
I went for the "lunch special" which is a little over $10 for a 6 inch pizza, choose any from their menu. The ambiance is nice like a coffee shop vibe, and the pizza quality is decent. The size of the pizza however was tiny. I know, I know, they did say it's a 6 inch pizza, so its more on me to have believed that the portion size would have literally been that small. In my opinion, the size for the lunch special should relabeled as a kiddie pizza, as there is no way it would have satiated the average adult hungry for lunch. For over $10, you're better off getting a lunch special elsewhere as this one didn't even come with any drinks or extra chips to make up for the lack of food. It was a disappointing first experience, but I'm willing to go back knowing to skip the lunch special and just spring for the full size pizza next time.

Cindy F.

Yelp
Mushroom and brie pizza was delicious. The brie was an interesting choice. I would love to go back and try a different pizza.
google avatar

Izzy P.

Yelp
they always have the best service and the most delicious pizzas and coffee!! i love coming here to work because of how chill the vibes are! truly a 10/10 experience every time.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
My negative review is based on the cleanliness of this business, which is pretty disappointing considering it's in downtown Redlands if you look around the floors and shelving and counters are all filthy, including the restroom. The employees are young and friendly, and the food was good, but we will not be returning because the business is very dirty.
google avatar

Brittney S.

Yelp
Lavender latte & Smores cookie = delicious! Great spot for working or catching up with a friend. Staff is always friendly and happy to answer any questions. The location is prime & the interior is very cozy.

Yelp
So, we've ordered from this place 5 times. Maybe 4, but to give this place more leeway, I'm going to say 5. First 3 times, fantastic pizza. Mostly, on point. Last 2 times, the pizzas were burnt, and most recently, pretty much inedible, but considering I didn't eat all day, I was starving. Every bite, from center to crust, had a burnt acrid taste. Very disappointing because their flavors are very unique. Wife ordered their jalapeño poppers thinking it was actually jalapeño poppers but it was a pizza. It was too spicy for her, so I took the pizza minus 1 slice to work the next day. Everyone said that it was a unique flavor and it was either good or great. My personal favorite is their buffalo. It's got the nice buffalo flavor with a creaminess to balance the tang. So, why the 3 stars? I'm huge on consistency. Like I said, giving them the benefit of the doubt and saying I've ordered 5 times instead of 4. 2 orders were pretty much trash. So 60% good, 40% bad. Also, another note in terms of consistency. We ordered 2 buffalo pizzas and they both tasted different. If you're ok with a 50/50 chance of getting good food, this is 5 stars. If you want consistency, this is not the place for you. Really wish they could get that right because when they're on point, I feel like this is the best pizza place in Redlands.

Yelp
Coffee is good. Pizza is excellent. Service is hit or miss. FYI they do not have WiFi

Norma M.

Yelp
After waiting 30+ minutes for a small pizza, it was cold, dough was not cooked through, I ate 1 piece and the rest was in the trash. Sauce was scarce and not a lot of flavor. Disappointed all around. I never got called for my order and the workers seemed disengaged. They were not busy. Not worth it.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Horrible pizza! To be making this in a brick oven absolutely no crunch at all , and it was burnt very badly on the undercarriage . For $60 dollars this was honestly I can't even wow. I hate bringing up price because when something is good it's never a problem but when it really bad like this, it makes me go "ohh so that's why little Caesars is so popular " you get what you pay for but in this case you get what you didn't pay for and it's way worse. And I hate little Caesars! Oh and the size of the XL is about the size of my hand! If only there was a zero star option. Honestly the only reason it will get eaten is because I have 5 boys age 2-12 and if i brought home an empty pizza box with cheeses stuck to the bottom they would have eaten the box!! they're animals ! Haha -Should of gotten little Caesars "famous last words"

Yelp
A great place to enjoy a hand crafted pizza. Dillon takes pride in providing excellent service.

Yelp
Came in for a early dinner yesterday with my husband and twins My hubby loves pizza this place had great reviews and the all the pizza pictures looked good Unfortunately pizza was not great Was burnt had no flavor and expensive I feel like I could of gone to blaze or piology have gotten way more toppings and just a better tasting pizza for what we spent here I did notice a lot of people come in for just the coffee & pastries

Yelp
Waited 45minutes for Pizza, Employee then said they lost the ticket with name on it and then proceeded to address me by my name lol. Went home with luke warm pizza. not to mention one employee was tossing the dough while wearing a watch that the dough was constantly wrapping around. 2/10

Yelp
Pizza was good! I am gluten free so that they have cauliflower crust was fantastic.. my husband ordered the jalapeño popper pizza - yummy! The only rough part was their wine selection wasn't great and I love Pinot noir with pizza (my guilty pleasure). Will just have to order it to go and enjoy it at home! We will definitely be going back.
