Let me start by saying the Venue inside is beautiful. Clean and it looks great. When I first walked in I was super excited to have yet another spot to go to in the South Bronx. The bartender, Laurie (sp?) was awesome and our experience at the bar was great.
We finally get seated and that's when it all went downhill. Seated outside in the "garden" that has no greenery. Ha! Such a disappointing experience. We started out with chimi sliders, empanadas and jalapenos poppers. Nothing was good. The sliders looked yummy, but they were disgusting. The empanadas did not look good and they tasted even worse. The jalapenos were not spicy, it tasted more like a bell pepper. We sent the sliders back because they were the worst. Ordered the chicken sandwich as a replacement. Ordered a burger and again the meat was awful, no seasoning whatsoever. It felt like I was taking a bite right from the cow itself. It tasted like cow, not a well seasoned, prepared and cooked burger. Ordered a drink, that took forever to come out. The yuca fries I ordered with the burger were tasteless ab dry. I asked for salt and pepper and they dont even have shakers!!! Tanisha brought them out in to go containers! Really???? Took forever to get water. Which was not even served at all until we asked for it twice.
Asked for our check and asked to cancel the chicken sandwich because we never got and we were all ready to go. Also asked our server, Tanisha, to speak to a manager. The manager a Male who had been circling the area the entire time was too chicken s#!t to come to the table and sent another server to pretend to be the floor manager. That's when I decided to leave a bad review, I wasn't going to at first. I wanted to give them another chance, because I want to support Bx Business. Especially when the owners are brown like me. But after being brushed off so carelessly, they don't deserve my loyalty. What's worst, they offered no resolution or anything off the bill. We paid, because we were not trying to get out of paying, but at least act like you give a damn. They brought out the chicken in a to go with the check and charged us, even after we said to cancel. The chicken, we demanded to be taken off the bill.
As we were leaving, the floor "manager" Andrea (I believe was her name) was very cheeky, sassy and sarcastically said she hopes we come back and to have a good night. Yet no one except for Tanisha apologized.
So nope, Sorry Bricks, I will not be returning and I will be sure to let my circle know not to bother. Not because the food was horrible, because it could have been an off day for the chef. But because it was disrespectfully handled.
