Lincoln Park’s Bricks Pizza To Close This Weekend After Two Decades | Eater Chicago

"The North Center sibling location opened in 2012 and appears unaffected by the Lincoln Park closure; when the pair first launched the plan was to consolidate operations there, but continued success at the Lincoln Park site kept both running. Ownership has indicated the North Center restaurant may soon shorten its name to the original moniker." - Ashok Selvam

I had the pleasure of nearing the employee Josh, he hand restored the kessel run millenium falcon just for me, going above and beyond to go into his own collection to build and repair this set for me and was super excited to receive it! ten out of ten!

My Son Love’s this store!! He’s been to other locations this one is his Favorite! Thanks to Britney took her time with him and was so kind!! Thanks will be back next week I’m sure 😂

Google
Thank you to Josh and Brittany for convincing me to go over budget. I regret it now but will be grateful by the time my next paycheck rolls around. They were the only ones working the store but managed to keep a children’s party going, helped us find the sets we were looking for, answered all of our questions and managed to help a line full of customers. 10/10 will definitely come back the next time I come to visit from Oregon.

Google
I have been to numerous Brick and Minifigs, this is by far one of the best I have ever been to. Went in right when they opened, they had a deal 4 figures for $25 as a set?! What a deal! had a ton of figures i wish i could have gotten but am satisfied with what I got. Staff is really nice and overall was an amazing experience, would definitely return if i could!

Google
The store has a nice collection and the minifigures are reasonably priced. I sold some Star Wars minifigs a few days ago, and the offer was not bad either.

Google
As someone who has been to multiple bricks and minifigs. I just wanted to say the Whittier location is definitely my favorite!! A huge reason is their super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Especially Britney she is AWESOME!! great customer service super friendly and a pleasure to do business with. She has helped me out a couple of times with trades and purchases. All bricks and minifigs need employees like her. Thank you Britney!! people like you are the reason I will continue to bring my business to the Whittier location

Yelp
I am an AFOL and I gotta say, this place is a dream. Aside from the Pasadena store, this has to be the most organized and has a wide selection of old school Lego sets. Not only that, they have pre-separated parts readily available in bundles for any MOCs you want to build or minifigure armies you're trying to create. Such an easy experience. Good selection of old System era sets and minifigs too. Friendly staff! Everyone is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I'll be back for Vladek's Dark Fortress one of these days soon!

Yelp
First time in this store. Wow, how cool. They have tons of retired or new legos. Many many figurines and holders and accessories. You can also sell them your old stuff, or have a birthday party there. People are real nice and friendly. Join their club to get coupons and info.

Yelp
Had a great time at their 2nd anniversary party! They really brought the community together with mascots, live Elvis, balloon twisting vendor. Kids had a blast! Obviously there was a huge line and a couple of hours wait, but good for them! They sold a lot as the cases were a bit bare by the time we got in, but again, happy for them as that was the whole point. I'm glad I was able to procure a couple of accessories and minifig for an actually reasonable price! Bc let's for real, BAMs are often not for the faint of heart or light of wallet. The staff was superb. Would be back again!

Yelp
Thought of this place when my youngest said she wanted a Lego-themed birthday party this year. I remembered seeing a little birthday room in the back during the handful of times we've been here in the past, and figured that could work for a small party. I was able to easily book the room online, and was surprised by the variety of birthday options they offered. We ended up opting for the "Weekend Make n' Take Birthday Party Package," which gave us 1.5 hours in the room with a party host from the staff. It included race car building and racing, Lego set & mini figure building, coloring and game stations, and time to eat and open gifts, etc. I didn't expect too much, but I was really impressed by the whole day! First, the room is already decorated for you, and although you could bring your own decorations to add, you really don't need to - it looks great already! And they have all the plates, napkins, and utensils you need. So that was one less thing I had to worry about today! Second, the activities were perfect and kept everyone interested and involved, and the host kept everything running smoothly. It was nice to have a variety of activities so the kids didn't have to wait turns for anything, or if they didn't want to do one thing, there was something else they could do. Third, each participant got to take home the Lego set and mini figure they built (birthday girl got two figures) - honestly you could even call these their "goodie bags" and save a little money. :) Overall, we had an amazing experience and a most memorable 6th party. :)

Yelp
Love coming to this store. It's hit or miss but we always get good price legos and sold some of our old Lego sets we had. Wanna give a compliment to Eli, very polite/pleasant who helped my son looking at display sets(Bowser). Also to Ethan who always helps us whenever we have lego sets to sell. Customer service is always the best factor for us to support a business. Highly recommended this store for Lego lovers like us.

Yelp
My son and I live down the street and frequent this Bricks fairly often, they have a very clean store and staff are all very friendly. Katie and her sons along with the team always inquire if you need any assistance and try their best to provide information about Legos that may interest you. We frequent almost all of the Bricks in Southern California and this store is one of our favorites. They are still building their inventory but have good assortment of used products. Waiting for that next sale!

Yelp
We had a really good experience at this store. It's in a little strip mall and sort of hidden from the main street, so we were actually a little surprised how busy it was inside when we arrived. I guess I was expecting it to be less crowded, but there were quite a few people shopping. My 4 year old son loves Legos and whenever he gets a gift from his grandma, aunt, or us, it's always a new Lego. Fortunately, he's actually not that attached to his Legos but just wants to build, so we told him that if he sold his current Legos, we could get him a new one. Anyway, we had around 13 smaller Legos, all of them around $20 or less and we walked away with a decent amount of store credit to buy him a much larger Lego that he really wanted. I was actually expecting less, so I was pleasantly surprised by his offer. The owner seems genuinely into Legos (as expected) and I think his offer was very fair. When we collect more Legos, we plan to go there again to trade for a newer one.

Yelp
Love this store! Josh was the homie helped us out looking through sets, really helpful during our trip

Yelp
Cool little spot in East whittier. Located at the end of strip mall. The shop itself is a decent size with lots of Lego related items inside. They have tables in the middle where kids or adults can go and build legos. They do sell new and used sets as well as individual figurines. They also sell bigger made items like the millineum falcon or the titanic. We actually went today for kids birthday party. They do have a small room towards the back catered for kids parties. They have limited seating though which was a bummer. Space was small once all the guests and the parents came in. They do have a table in there as well with random Lego's to build and a ramp to race Lego cars. For small parties with guests around 10 including the parents I guess this place would be ok. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend due to space. Overall place was very clean and the employees were very nice.

Yelp
Couldn't get grandkids out of this store! They had so much fun making their own Minifigs and they can't wait to return.

Yelp
First time customers, very friendly and clean. There's lots of options for your Lego brick builder lovers. You can book parties. Ms. Katie was very helpful, and introduced us to the reward program. Chilled environment and fair prices. They buy, sell and trade as well.

Yelp
I had to rewrite this because I review the wrong store at first. Here goes, my husband and I wanted to love this store. He's big on Legos and Im big on buying them for him. Initially we thought the store was great. He went to sell an item he had doubles of, and got absolutely pumped when he discovered the Dr Strange Sanctum. Of course he inquired about it and the they told him it was on hold for someone. He was disappointed but understood and we left, with him a little heart broken. Later, the store called him to say the person never came and therefore lost the hold. It was now available. That man was soooo happy. He asked if they could hold it for him and he'd be in in the morning to grab it for certain. They agreed to hold it for him and took his information for the hold. Fast forward to the morning we rush down, close to 30 minute drive. We we get there guess what, they sold. To whom you may be wondering .....to the person who didn't show up when he was supposed and forfeit his hold. The actually sold it to him anyway. To say my husband was crushed is an understatement. This store didnt follow their own policy. They created a system for fairness and then went ahead and didnt follow it. Apparently if you complain a little they will just go ahead and scrap the policy that THEY created. Needless to say the hundreds of dollars I was willing to spend on hubby in this store will go somewhere with more trusted policies that do what they say the will do. As for hubby, he never wants to step foot in the store again. To the store, do better!!!

Yelp
Good knowledgeable people and great selection. Pricing more than regular Lego store but they'll have some hard to find things

Yelp
We celebrated our son's birthday last weekend with 8 of his friends. All the kids had a blast and enjoyed all the fun activities. The kids built their own vehicle to race, color, build activity as a group and then got to take a minifig home. The staff was great, and everyone loved the throne! Thanks so much Bricks and Minifigs we are so impressed and you made our sons birthday a memorable evemt!

Yelp
Definitely the best lego store in whittier. Their selection of retired sets is incredibly impressive as well as their other merchandise like custom minifigs stands. My son was especially fond of their build. minifig option as there were lots of pieces to choose from. Its also great that the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this store if you're looking to buy legos.

Yelp
Gotta say every time I come here, every single one of the workers have a great demeanor! Two workers in particular always seem enthusiastic and ready to help if you have any questions! It's probably one of my favorite stores to go visit, compared to the other bricks and minifigs out there. Is it on the pricy side? Sure. But if you're hoping to purchase mint condition minifigs and old sets, then this is the store to go to!

Yelp
Store was very clean and had a lot of options but the employees who were working weren't very helpful towards us. Helped every guy that walked in and just told us my girlfriend and I that they were busy when we asked for help. It seemed like they didn't care to help us at all because we are female. One of the employees seemed to be supervisor or lead and was very blunt and unwelcoming when ringing us up. Definitely didn't feel like our business was wanted at this location.

Yelp
Congratulations to the lovely family who owns and operates this new business . The kids are super excited about having a Lego store in our city. My son enjoyed building his characters. Stop by and support this great addition to our community.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed and frustrated... I like this store. I've come here a couple times before, mostly to buy minifigs, but also to buy pieces and a baseplate. I noticed before they had a section with incomplete used sets in bags, they seemed to be the best deal in the store, at least generally. Many were sets missing minifigures but selling the rest of the pieces at a discount price. I liked the deals, but not the sets. Today, I saw a set I would actually really like, Set #75338, Ambush On Ferrix. Missing the minifigs and the bike and possibly a couple pieces, but priced at $25, a real steal, I think. I picked it up without thinking, excited to take it home. I bought a couple minifigs too, as per usual for me, but not relevant to this review. Overall, I was very satisfied with my purchases, I was really happy. I have had no bad experiences with this store. I came home and poured the nearly complete set onto a corner of my bed, so the pieces don't scatter like on a table or a floor. I immediately noticed a couple pieces of wood. I thought it was strange, but didn't really think anything else of it, I had no idea why that was there, I just thought it was dirty. In hindsight, that was incredibly naive and dumb of me, because in the next few seconds, a cockroach came out of that bag, and tried to escape. I crushed it between my fingers as soon as I saw it, and washed it down the drain. I have not seen a cockroach in my house since my family moved in. I knew it was from the bag. I panicked a little but told myself it was probably the only one in the bag. I looked at the loose pieces, the incomplete body of the set, and the bag. There were black dots I had foolishly missed before. It clicked for me, those are eggs. Cockroach eggs. I stuffed the pieces and the set in the bag and put it outside. My Dad and I spent the next however many minutes vacuuming and throwing away things and put my blanket+comforter in the wash. We do NOT want an infestation. Our home is clean and we want to keep it that way, and I feel guilty that I brought this thing into our home. It did not occur to me at all that a store, even selling used Legos, would sell something so filthy. I feel the store could have sanitized the disassembled pieces in a bowl, made sure to kill the eggs and the bugs inside. It's clear to me the store knew the set had bugs, the set is normally priced at $69.99. The store sold this incomplete set at $25. It was in a clear bag, and an employee must have gone through and seen the condition of this set before bagging and pricing it. I believe they noticed the eggs, but instead of doing something to sanitize the pieces, they simply threw it in a bag and put a nice price on it so someone would grab it cheaply and not complain. However, I do not think a good price makes up for selling a set infested with cockroach eggs and even a live cockroach. I do think the store sold it knowing it was covered in eggs, or else they would have put the pieces in their normal bulk Lego section, or sold it for a price closer to it's retail, even despite missing the bike and minifigs. The other used/incomplete bags I have seen had and have prices closer to their original retail, the only exception I've seen being a couple Bionicle sets. That's all I can say about my experience. Now I will wait and see if any of the eggs survived or missed our eyes, and we have an infestation in our hands. I just know, I'm never going to this store again, and I'm afraid of the cleanliness of their pieces and their store. I really don't want to leave such a negative review, I don't, I don't want to be that guy. But this... I feel like it has to be said... if a future customer sees this, just be warned. So far, I will say, my minifigs were fine, my pieces were fine. No eggs or cockroaches in those purchases. But finding it in today's purchase is the end of my brief relationship with Bricks and Minifigs Whittier. I'm attaching some photos, and I don't think they show many of the eggs since they were most noticeable when the bag was empty... but I saw the eggs inside the set as well when I took it outside of the bag... my dad sprayed the bag with bug killer and closed it, with the set inside. Hopefully that kills the living contents... for now, I don't want to open that bag or even touch it, so these photos are what I have. There aren't A LOT of eggs, but you will see small black specks, and I tell you, they are eggs. The cockroach did not come out of the bag just for those black specks to be dirt. Maybe it's poop. I'm not risking that assumption. Regardless, the condition of this set is shockingly filthy. Even if the store purchased this used from another person, I do not think it is right to sell it again in the exact same condition.

Yelp
If your a Lego fan, do give this place a try. The owner is really kind and helpful. A dream place for children.

Yelp
Cool little spot in East Whittier. I have purchased sets in the past and have been super happy with my purchase. I went in today wanting to sell a brand new , sealed and retired Lego Creator Gingerbread House (10267) but was utterly disappointed at how little I was offered for my set. I don't know if it's the norm but I was offered $35 cash or $70 store credit. I paid close to $100 two years ago. This set is selling on Amazon for $179 so I feel it had more value than what was offered. But I get it , it's a business and it needs to cover overhead. Had the offer been closer to $100 store credit I would have chosen a new set in store. Anyhow, I kept my set and it will now be modified to look different so I can add it to my growing Lego holiday town (I already have a Lego gingerbread house ). While there I looked around and noticed a significant markup on sets that are fairly newly released. You can still get a good deal with promos, reward points and on some prebuilt / used sets.

Yelp
I have been to this store a lot and have always had a great experience. I love that all of their staff members are very helpful and attentive and it is very clear that they have been trained in the art of customer service. If you are a fan of Legos and especially Lego Star Wars then this is the place for you! And the prices can't be beat. Finn was a very helpful and knowledgeable employee, and was very eager to help me with my Bespin Guard collection. It was also incredible to learn that Tim (mostly known as a Whittier sports legend) was the one managing the store. Every time I see him there he always knows just what I would want and how to help me with my lego collection. The man doesn't miss. I'm pretty sure he hasn't made a mistake since slipping in the end zone for a safety in 1996 against Fullerton. He has been perfect ever since, in football, fatherhood, and now managing a business.

Yelp
Customer service here is amazing !! I'll take the drive here any day over the Anaheim location. Still new so not a big selection on pre own sets but there customer service is top tier !!! Thank you for being apart of the Lego community (:

Justin T.

Yelp
Selling and buying Legos here is always friendly, easy, and fun! Earlier today I went in to sell some sets I no longer wanted and got more money for them than I thought I would! After leaving the store, they called me to let me know they were not aware that the sets I sold them were actually worth more than they originally thought. So, they told me to come back and they'd pay me an additional amount. This goes to show how incredible their customer service is. Other places may have just let me go unaware of the value of the sets. But they took the time to make sure I was getting a fair deal. Will for sure be spending more time selling and buying from these guys. Absolutely awesome.
