Brickwood Coffee & Bread Review - Clapham - London - The Infatuation

"Brickwood is a cosy coffee shop opposite Clapham Common tube station that’s excellent for pitching up in for a few hours, if need be. During the week it feels like a (non-overwhelming) working space, thanks to the cheery table service and the different people doing different things dipping in and out. Though upstairs is a little competitive, there’s always down if natural light isn’t your thing. Coffee-wise it’s pretty good, and there’s a load of freshly baked bread and pastries, as well as a brunch-ish menu too." - Jake Missing

Nice solid brunch location in Balham. The food was good and great portion sizes. My favourite was the Granola Yoghurt, I would definitely get that again and the mixed berries in it were amazing. I also got the Spicey Chicken & and Avocado Toastie which was really nice. I didn't expect it to be so big - very filling. Also, the Banana Bread lived up to expectations and is better toasted. I recommend all the dishes mentioned. Only slight negative would be that the avocado on the Smashed Avocado was a bit too watery, so it made the bread a little soggy. The service was good. They were quick to have us seated and ordering our food. The food didn't take long For more photos & videos, follow me on Instagram @oureatinglife_ I will be back and I'd like to try their smoothies next time.

We were taken here by our daughter who loves the place for breakfast. Its a querky setup with driftwood and painted corrugated iron on the walls. It has a set of chairs against the entrance wall where you sit and move up as seats at a table become available. I thought that this worked really well. We had a table within a few minutes of arriving on a Monday mid morning and all ordered their big breakfast with orange juice and tea. It was a lovely place and one I would be happy to return to, but of the 3 x breakfast places we went to in London, this one was in 3rd place, but they were all exceptional.

We visited at midday on Saturday and waited 20 minutes for a table, which is expected for brunch in Balham. Food was generally good served with good bread and coffee. However service was very slow with unenthusiastic staff. They hadn't taken our order 20 minutes after sitting down and coffees took a very long time to come. I would return but maybe on a weekday.

Such a nice coffee shop in Balham. I had a cappuccino, which was spot on. Great taste. I also had a gardener's brunch. I swapped pesto tomatoes for just tomatoes. Very fresh, very tasty. Good quality food. There was seating inside and on the street.

I recently had brunch at this place, but found it to be quite cramped. Despite this, I did appreciate the quality of the food and the attentive service. However, when I shared my feedback about the tight seating arrangements, I received a passive-aggressive response suggesting that the layout was unlikely to change. I found myself sitting in a narrow hallway with just 10 cm of space between me and the person behind me. Over the course of 40 minutes, I was asked to move more than seven times to allow others to pass by.

Very limited vegan options- exactly 2. And the services is very grumpy. Not sure why! It's a nice place otherwise and the 2 vegan options do taste good

Came in for Brunch today with my family and was beyond impressed with the service from the beginning to the end! Special shout out to the young lad Ollie who looked after us! Even gave the little one an extra marshmallow - planning on coming back again next weekend, highly recommend
