Bridge City

Jacob recently installed a full system for our backyard. Great work, competitive pricing, and someone you trust. Would recommend for certain. We will be signing up for Bridge City for annual service as well as an additional scope come springtime.

Jacob installed drip irrigation in my front and side garden a few months ago. It was easy to get a quote, and he explained all of our options thoroughly. I appreciated his calm and easy demeanor, and the work was excellent. He is very reasonably priced and the irrigation is saving me hours a week!

I don’t know Jacob personally and I have no ties to him besides hiring him twice. I first hired him five years ago. He communicated quickly and clearly, came the same day, fixed my problem, and charged reasonably. When I had a new problem yesterday, I searched for his number and was nearly dissuaded by his recent bad reviews. I decided to contact him anyway. Today’s interaction was the same as five years ago. Jacob was fantastic. He responded immediately, showed up the next day when he said he would, fixed my problem quickly and creatively, left the yard and my home clean, and charged reasonably. I did ask him about the poor reviews, and he said it happened when he had to take time off work. It sounded like a personal matter and I didn’t pry. Anyway, I will hire Jacob again when needed. I don’t typically write reviews, but thought this one was important. I hope your experience is the same as mine.

I recently had Bridge City Backflow & Irrigation, owned by Jacob Goltry, replace a backflow valve and repair a broken irrigation pipe. Both jobs were completed quickly, professionally, and at a fair price. Jacob is clearly experienced and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him and his company for any irrigation needs—excellent service all around!

As some recent posts have indicated, Jacob can be very difficult to reach. I know this is frustrating, but I ask some of the recent posters to offer him some grace. He is contending with a family emergency. In the past, I have found Jacob to be very reliable and knowledgeable. Earlier this spring, he installed new irrigation zones in my yard. He was so careful that I could not tell where he had dug a trench. My one piece of advice to Bridge City clients is to take the time to do a walk through with Jacob after he completes his work. Had I done so, we would have nipped a couple of issues in the bud.

Big promises, takes your money and doesn't deliver. Jacob abandoned our job less than halfway completed. Change order pricing was exorbitant but what can you do when you are already in process? Our costs to complete were substantially higher than the remaining balance owed Jacob as much of the work he did had to be redone. He borrowed our irrigation plans in order to update them with his work and has not returned them despite many requests (unanswered as others in his poor reviews have mentioned). I ran into him at Home Depot and practically begged to have the plans back - no interest in helping. You will make a big mistake to fall for his nice guy demeanor.

6 years later and Jacob is my go to guy for any irrigation needs for my house or rental properties. He is professional, hard working, kind, and knowledgeable. Quotes are more than reasonable. I feel lucky to have Jacob and bridge city in my Rolodex!

Jacob was supposed to fix a broken sprinkler and I was out of town. It was flooding that part of the yard. He didn’t show the original day, then forgot the yard code and said he was on the way the next day. He never showed. I called, texted and emailed multiple times. No response yet. We had second, non-urgent appointment a week later. He was going to update most of the yard irrigation system. He didn’t show and still hasn’t contacted me. Thank goodness I had the chance to cancel the down payment of over $400. He seemed so nice when he did the estimate. I was really surprised that he totally blew us off.
