⭐️ Disappointed with the Decline Bridges used to be one of my favorite spots, but unfortunately, the quality has really gone downhill. On my recent visit on Mother’s Day the food was bland and poorly presented—nowhere near the standard they once had. Even more disappointing was the service: slow, inattentive, and disorganized. Really unfortunate to see such a great place lose its charm. I won’t be returning anytime soon unless things improve significantly.

Oh!!! I just loved this place. The cocktails were soooo good and stiff. The Crispy calamari was the best I had. The stir fried mexican prawns in thai red curry sauce is a must have here and the Lobster mahi mahi was sooo good too. Everyhing we ordered from the truffle fries to the mahi mahi were just so sumptuous. Will definitely come back to this place, it had a vibe for sure!

We had lunch here for a party of six. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was absolutely charming. We especially loved the appetizer and dessert. However, the service was disappointingly slow—we waited a long time for our orders. If they could speed things up, it would be a perfect dining spot.

Really enjoy this restaurant. They are very accommodating. Made it easy to split salads and even the soup! Two different smaller bowls. Appetizers were very good and we all enjoyed our meals. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A little loud but that's because it's very busy.

I visited this restaurant on Monday to celebrate a birthday, but it was a real disaster, 1. They took a long time to prepare the food and it was 5 pm, 2. The food arrived cold 3. The pork leg was raw and they did nothing about it, 4. The garden area was very dirty with cobwebs 5. We paid 180 dollars, how sad because the food was expensive and ugly, I do not recommend this place

Google
Good experience. Service was very good, and the food was prompt. Pork chop was done nicely. But I had the best meal at our table was steak with Lobster. They were generous with the lobster size. The red wine demi was just OK, and the steak would be better without it. My friend had the Gilled prawn noodle salad, and that looked amazing, and he confirmed it was tasty. Our visit was at 5pm on Friday, and they were not busy yet, but it got busy as we left around 6:30. We did not have a long wait, but I can see it can be extended as more tables get filled. Our server did great, I think his name was Ryan?

Google
Parking: bridges parking is very limited unless you are early street parking is an option Food: it was good and I wish it had more flavors, spicy to it. Rest of my family liked it Service: excellent and friendly staff Time to serve: quite bit of wait time for the entree but I hope this is only in the weekends due to the crowd Desert menu: except for gelato everything else is alcohol based deserts. It is unquestionably unique and adults will love it Pricing: on the higher end Ambience: excellent. They got indoor and outdoors Reservations: Allowed and it’s better to reserve during weekends. Even though walk ins are allowed

Had a celebration lunch at this establishment. Could not believe this was my first time dining at this place. I didn’t even know if there was ample parking (it did) so I parked far away. Lol The waitress missed my Arnold Palmer drink the first time, so when it was time to order food, I got a Bridges Manhattan instead. I love Manhattans and make my own, but this was pretty good. The appetizers were all quite delicious, but the truffle fried felt a bit dry (you could even see from the photo). A few entrees that I wanted to try, but I decided on the stir fried Mexican prawns with Thai red curry sauce. I must admit that it was a huge plate. However, much of it was the thin noodle. I liked this pairing, but at the end of the meal, I thought perhaps there was a bit too much carb. LOL The prawns were a good size and the curry sauce was great. The ambiance was great so I could why people like this place. Yes, I would come back again~ =)

Yelp
It's been years since I've been here, but it never disappoints. We came with a baby and a toddler, which is always challenging, but the entire staff was really accommodating. We sat out in the covered patio and it was so pleasant. We were shielded from sun and wind; not to mention all the food the baby threw on the ground was easily cleaned. The menu was not overwhelming but still had lots of variety. The food came out quickly, which is always a huge plus when you have hungry kids. What we ordered: + Roasted Brussels sprouts - a nice mix of Brussels sprouts, onions, and bacon. + Shaking beef lettuce cups - tender beef in a slightly sweet soy sauce with hearts of Romaine lettuce cups. + Chicken Two Ways, Pomegranate Soy - a roasted chicken thigh over shredded chicken on top of brussels sprouts, red onions, and fingerling potatoes. This was very delicious. I only wished there were pomegranate seeds like the picture from their website. + Apple crisp a la mode - this was quite a generous portion and very sharable. It was warm and delicious. Highly recommend adding the ice cream. + Blueberry cheesecake - very tasty but I found it a little dense. They also brought out a couple of chocolate birthday cupcakes since we were celebrating 2 birthdays that evening. Overall, a wonderful evening.

Yelp
Could've been better. Came here with my mom, aunt, brother and baby this week. It was a very slow night which was ideal for a baby in a nice restaurant. Their highchairs are awesome and high up so my daughter actually felt like she was sitting at the table with us, that was nice! The drinks took forever to get to us. Then we placed an order for some appetizers that took quite awhile to come out, they were delicious though. Upon clearing the table from the apps, they took all our silverware so we were left without. Then we ordered our food, I got the spare ribs with noodles. It was bland as can be, all the meat were fatty parts and just really nothing thrilling about the meal at all, I didn't eat anymore than five bites. My mom got the special which was a flank steak and she said it was great! My brother got the pork chop, all was good but the greens were SO salty he didn't eat them. BESIDE that, since our cutlery was taken, we were waiting for new forks for literally like 5 minutes as our food was just sitting. The servers were great but slow and took forever with simple requests. When our food was put down by the runners it was placed on the table very...clumsy-like and it was just odd with where our plates were placed (not in front of us). Also, for as expensive as this place is, you think it'd be the type of place that would box your food for you? Nope, they bring you tiny to go containers much like you would get from a Chinese restaurant. I would also recommend that get place mats for the outdoor tables. Cutting a steak with your plate sliding everywhere was quite comical. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're paying $350+ for a meal, it really should be better and more upscale than this. :(

Yelp
Went there for a business dinner and the manager and hosts were super friendly. They made us feel right at home and welcomed us. A lot of restaurants I have been to lately are not very welcoming so I notice. The drinks were great and the food was amazing. We had everything from steak, chicken, chips, charcuterie boards, lettuce wraps, Brussel sprouts.... All good American food with care and flavor. We will be back. Worth going with larger groups or on dates as I saw a few.

Yelp
One of my most favorite spots at Danville! One of the few restaurants that welcome guests beyond their regular schedule, you will be seated even if lunch hour is almost done. Waiting staff is extremely patient with little guests, which is great for parents that are tired eating at kid/friendly venues and want to enjoy a classy ambiance. Last time we ordered Poke salmon appetizer that was nice and fresh, bridges burger, risotto and grilled salmon. Everything was delicious, however grilled salmon was unfortunately over seasoned and lost its flavor to a taste of salt. Interior of that restaurant is nice and classy, perfect for any formal and fun occasion. Will definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Place is just okay. We went for dinner tonight and what stood out to me most was that the dining room thermostat was set to 79 degrees on an unseasonably hot (almost 100 degree) day. We were sweating while we were eating, no exaggeration, it was not pleasant.

Yelp
Great huge patio good service and the food is decent wish the seats were padded and more comfy though

Yelp
Bridges is famous for being the restaurant in the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire" with Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan and Sally Field. I grew up in San Ramon so I've been to Bridges a handful of times throughout the years. I love seeing the movie poster signed by Robin Williams hung up in the restaurant. I hadn't been here in a long time but recently came back for Happy Hour with my friend. Happy Hour is from 4-8pm. I got the Bridges-Tini and my friend got the Doubtfire cocktail. For starters we shared the truffle fries and the Hoisin-Glazed Pork Belly Bao. Honestly the pork belly bao was disappointing, it looked like the buns were burnt and it didn't have the hoisin, cucumber, radish or cilantro that the menu described. I feel like the buns would have been better if it was just steamed, and not overcooked and hard. We also shared their Wild Mushroom Risotto which has truffled mushrooms and parmesan cheese. The risotto was decent and enough to fill the both of us. I do like Bridges for it bringing Hollywood to the East Bay, but I've always thought their food could be a little better tasting.

Vickie S.

Yelp
Food was okay, service was all over the place, guess it's not as classy as it used to be back in the day. Nice ambiance eating on the patio

Yelp
I reached out to the manager to potentially host my wedding reception here for October 2023. Communication was fine up to me wanting to move forward with the plans. I mentioned I was going to go there to enjoy a meal before I commit and would have loved to talk to them in person. After that I never heard back even with follow ups. I called and reached out with no return messages. I was really excited to try this restaurant up to that point since Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my favorite movies growing up. The food overall was decent, but very Asian inspired. The food is a bit pricy for what you get. However, I see it as a great happy hour place (idk if they have it) but too far for me to come again.

Shannon L.

Yelp
Good ambiance and friendly service. They do birthday celebrations well. Cocktails are well done. My friend got the stir fried Mexican prawns in Thai curry dish which she gets every time she goes and loves it. I got the seared pacific Tombo. It came over bacon, edamame, leeks and kimchi rice. I didn't taste kimchi although this mix was good. I got the dish because I love kimchi and make it at home so it was very noticeably missing. The fish was simple and a bit dry. I think some flavor on the fish could make it out nicely with the rest of the dish.

Yelp
Prior to our meal yesterday we loved Bridges restaurant and had dined there multiple times in the last 2 decades so we thought they would be a wonderful place to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family of 4. Boy was I wrong. The service was a struggle from start to finish. It should've been relatively easy considering the limited menu for Thanksgiving but we had to consistently ask for everything when we could locate our server. We all ordered the traditional turkey meal which the menu stated consisted of sage butter Diestel turkey, sweet cream mashed potatoes, applewood bacon dressing and garlic brussel sprouts. Well, they failed to mention the heaping amount of cranberry sauce they dumped on top of the entire thing and 2 of my family members don't care for cranberry sauce so their meals were pretty much ruined for $60 each. It was easily avoided had they mentioned in the description there were even cranberries involved. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience that we were all looking so forward to all day.

Yelp
My date took me to Bridges and to my surprise, it was a really nice restaurant. The Food and Service were great. There is a big parking lot close to the restaurant.

Yelp
Surprised this place gets so highly reviewed. We've been trying all the spots in Danville and have been pleasantly surprised with some, wildly disappointed in others. Not a fan of the interior. Feels like an Olive Garden inside, tons of seating with 90's like decorations. I got a paparedelle short rib and risotto with scallops. This is a volume place clearly. Food had no flavor. Will not return.

Tom C.

Yelp
Been going here 24 years. The Food is fabulous but the service is so bad it ruined the evening tonight . 25 minutes to get our drinks 1 hour wait for dinner 2 hours 10 minutes to get the check paid. When you pay 150$ for dinner you expect much better. The staff was clearly way shorthanded . Sadly Goodbye Bridges

Yelp
Valentines Dinner? Where to go on the busiest most crowded weeknight romantic evening of the year? This year I chose to take my special Plus One to our Danville favorite Bridges with a pre fix Valentines menu. Pro Tip - Reserve 4 weeks or more in advance (early January) to get the seating time you prefer. Ambiance - Quiet and relaxed and slightly elegant whether you're casually seated outside or more formally inside. For Valentines they also had some extra tables setup in the bar. Service - Bridges geared up for this special day. They had extra help at the hostess booth for seating, and I loved the extra water and bread attendants that kept swooping by to fill glasses and baskets and take plates. I think I counted 7 floating attendants and your water glass NEVER got below half full. Our waitress Hannah was friendly and described the dishes and her favorites with details of how the pastry makes and presents each dessert. Hannah even apologized for the wait we had for our entree though it wasn't too long. Crab Seaweed Salad (5 Stars) - Heaps of delicious Dungeness crab over a light seaweed salad. Delicate with flavors that didn't over power the crab. It was served over a hefty square of sushi rice that was a nice compliment to the crab. Every bite should be take with a bit of the sweet soy and a small piece of the fried scallion. Pepper and Tomato Soup (4 Stars) - You gotta love red peppers as it was featured in this soup. Big crunchy brioche croutons were the highlight. Filet Medallions with Bacon Wrapped Prawns (5 Stars) - We ordered the steak medium rare and one piece came medium and one came rare. Which worked out fine because both were tender and flavorful with the Demi. The prawns were thick and meaty tightly wrapped with a salty bacon/prosciutto. The scalloped potatoes with Gouda were soft and creamy like a comfort dish should be. Swordfish (4.5 Stars) - Pan roasted with just a slight crust. Thick and steaky and they were careful to not over cook it, though I should have ordered it rare. It was served over baby bok choy and chanterelles, but the savory Yakisoba was the highlight. I could eat that all day long. Petite Chocolate Gateau (5 Stars) - Dessert was a tough choice and Hanna recommended this because of her love for chocolate and the creative presentation by the pastry chef. The Gateau was three layers of chocolate shaped in a heart. Bottom was a crispy chocolate cookie, topped with a dark chocolate cake, all wrapped in a chocolate mousse and ganache. The heart shaped cranberry dusting was a a nice addition that added some zing to the mild and not overly sweet chocolate layers. Overall - A great choice for a special Valentines dinner with your special someone.

Yelp
Had a Valentine's Day dinner here. So there was a prefixed menu, of course, overcrowded restaurant, of course, and overpriced food, of course. Good thing I had great company! The main courses were very disappointing. I had 2 shrimp skewers over bland rice. Meh. The filet Mignon was tough, chewy, and way overcooked. Ridiculous prices for such sub-par dishes. Given this, however, the appetizer and dessert we had were good. Never had a phyllo wrapped Brie cheese before, but it looked interesting so I decided to try it out. The crab seaweed salad was also presented well. Dessert was a bit heavy, but looked pretty. Service was so slow, couldn't get our waiter's attention for a while. Definitely not coming back, but glad to have tried a new place.

Yelp
Bridges Restaurant & Bar, Danville: 2023 Apr 26 (3.25 of 5) When we lived in Danville, this place was our regular haunt. It's been years since we've visited Bridges. Today was a special Happy Hour meeting with family and friends. Bridges offers a relaxed and serene atmosphere during Happy Hours, with live music, in a casual seating. It was put on the map with the shooting of "Mrs Doubtfire", which gave this eatery national acclaim. The service: The place was not crowded at all, yet the service was spotty. Whenever a server comes to our table, the first thing they asked is whether we're still eating. Note: We still have plenty of food on our table. 2 of 5 The food: I had their "Gojuchang Glazed Pork Belly Bao" with Cucumber, Radish, minus Cilantro. For $10.00 I think they may have missed the mark. Although the buns were excellent in taste and texture, the meat leaves me spitting out more than I could chew. It was tough and chewy with little seasoning. The over-powering hoisin sauce smother the bland meat, and all we tasted was very salty hoisin sauce. 2 of 5 The price: Depending on what you order, the prices vary. 4 of 5 The location: Bridges sits on an anchored retail area, housing other tenants, that makes this an appealing foot traffic location. 5 of 5

Yelp
Over priced. Over cooked flank steak. Had to return. Asked for 'medium' but received a 'very well done' small piece of tough meat. They gave me a new steak within 5-10 mins. It was cooked properly but still...a very thin, petite piece of meat. For $30 - and only fries on the side. Not worth it.

Foodie B.

Yelp
We used to love this place and recently went for appetizers. We ordered the shaking beef lettuce cups and the ahi/tombo poke. We couldn't eat either dish as the shaking beef was tough and cheap cut of meat and the poke was slimy and covered in mushrooms to "hide" it. Not sure what happened but we won't be back.

Yelp
We had family visiting from LA, and one of my cousins wanted us to have dinner one night at this very restaurant, all because of this restaurant's famous appearance in Mrs. Doubtfire. Before I made the drive to the restaurant, I watched the movie over again, partly for nostalgia's sake, and partly to see if the real-life restaurant resembles what's in the movie. When we got there, we were initially seated outside, but we asked the waitress if we could be moved inside due to the heat. She was able to find us a table relatively quickly. A different waitress waited on us at our indoor table. I don't remember her name, but she was excellent. She answered all of our questions that we had on the menu, as well as questions on Mrs. Doubtfire's filming. She pointed out the exact table where Robin Williams sat as Daniel Hillard opposite Jonathan Lundy (table 15) , as well as the table where he sat as Mrs. Doubtfire for Miranda's birthday (table 39). So, yes, the restaurant scene in the movie was filmed right there in that very restaurant. As for the food, my pasta dish was tasty but maybe a tad bit oily. For dessert, we all shared several desserts. All were delicious. Prices are a bit high, but I suppose that's par for the course in Danville. Lastly, while the dress code is not formal, try to dress somewhat nicely. Don't come wearing a t-shirt and flip flops. Anyways, whether or not you've seen Mrs. Doubtfire, I think it's worth the pilgrimage to come to this restaurant and sit down for a nice dinner (or lunch) and a glass of wine. 4 stars

Robert B.

Yelp
The service was prompt and they were not pushy. We ate in their patio area and it was pleasant, we had a sunny day. I had the burger with veggies instead of fries and they were happy to provide this alternative. The burger itself was not memorable and was served over done (medium-well even though I had stressed only medium). I suppose having overcooked ground beef makes it safer from e-ecoli bacteria.

Yelp
I visited Bridges Restaurant for Saturday brunch. This was my first visit and this review is only for brunch. I made a reservation to celebrate my friend's birthday. I clearly mentioned it. But...nothing happened. I didn't expect a big thing but I was disappointed when I saw a lady at the nearby table received a Happy birthday cupcake or something with a candle. The server said "Happy Birthday!" with a big smile. The same server brought us a check while we were still eating. Then she came back and took out our bread basket (my bread was still there!) and empty plates. But I was still holding my fork with my last food. Really awkward and embarrassing. She never asked us if we need a dessert menu or coffee after the meal. So, very unfortunately, I can't tell if they offer desserts during brunch. 1 star for good food. We ordered Bridges Burger and Benedict. We both loved them. 1 star for Mrs. Doubtfire. This was the reason we visited. Happy to see the poster signed by Robin Williams, near the restrooms. Elegant atmosphere. That's all. I expected a better service from a fine dining restaurant like Bridges Restaurant.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. Great selection on the wine list and drinks came out quickly. Beef lettuce cups were a tasty start to the meal. Beef was so flavorful and came out hot. Lettuce cups were crisp and refreshing. Ribeye Steak was juicy and flavorful. The truffle butter really took it to the next level. Even the potatoes and broccoli were well seasoned and delicious. The braised beef short rib papardelle was our favorite bite. So well balanced, warm and earthy. The mushrooms and freshly shaved cheese took it up a notch in flavor. Surprising depth to this dish. Chocolate torte was pretty good. Loved the different textures with the crunchy bits and the smooth gelato. Wasn't overpowering in sweetness. Great finish to the meal. I love how diverse the menu is. Would love to come back again next time I'm in town!

Yelp
If you're looking for a quiet place to dine indoors, then this is the place. The high ceiling might be a factor but if you prefer outdoor dining, it also offers this option. For cocktails, needed to try the Doubtfire cocktail (not just because of the reference to the "Mrs. Doubtfire" movie)which is a jalapeño spiced tequila. I loved almost anything spicy so I enjoyed this drink. Someone in our group ordered the Danville old Fashioned which is bourbon whisky and the Raspberry lemon drop-which I also liked. It is Vodka with lemon juice. Food is just okay, not something to blow you away. Special for that day was a combination of filet mignon and New York strip for $58. The filet is seasoned well while the strip tasted a little bit bland. I got the seared rare Pacific Tombo supposedly with bacon, kimchi rice. Did not taste a hint of bacon or kimchi and rice is salty for my taste. Was also able to try the Red wine braised short rib with pappardelle, very tasty and would highly recommend it. The Roasted Atlantic salmon with ponzu soba noodle salad is just okay, an interesting combination. For dessert, we ordered coconut cheesecake-just the right amount of sweetness. On the other hand, avoid ordering the Chocolate almond cremeux if you don't like overly sweet dessert. summer fruit crisp was also a good choice, perfectly paired with the Bridges coffee.

Yelp
This is beautiful restaurant. We had planned on eating on the patio but it was VERY noisy so we decided to eat inside. Caesar salad was good. Brussels sprouts were a miss. They were very undercooked. The risotto was good. The pork chop was good with well seasoned chard and a potato and celeriac mash. We asked the waiter what the mash was and he didn't know. The only downside was pretty dreadful service. Had the restaurant been full I could have excused it but ... Anyway, nice ambiance, pretty decent food. So so service. With so many other restaurants in the area I don't think we will return soon.

Yelp
Holding back another star. More on why later. First I remember when Bridges was started in Danville. There was a chinese restaurant in that location, think it was called Iron Wok, but then Blackhawk was built and all those Million dollar houses....wait, every house in Danville is at least a million dollars now.....well it was back in the 70s when the hody toddy restaurants in Danville were Dan Magrews and the Danville Hotel. Bridges came in and catered to the Golf Club crowd and pretty sure they had a Jackets required dress code, much like many other places did before the Yuppies destroyed all that (thank god, I hate dress codes). Anyway I didn't go to this place (did I mention dress codes) until after they changed up the place well after Mrs. Doubtfire came out. They relaxed their stodginess a bit and we went in an tried it. You know what, best damn pork chop I've probably ever had. Had a steak there with a friend on another visit, and while it was not eye popping like Birks or Flemings, it was adequate and tasty. Their servers are always cheery and helpful, they take care of you. Now, for the one star demerit. Bridges, your damn bread sucks. Have you been to Piatti? Their bread rocks. Most times we have to ask for bead probably because you are embarrassed by yours. Step up your bread service and you may get a 5 star from me someday.

Yelp
Olivia lacked service skills Forgot my drink, did not come back to check if the special was correct It was my birthday and first time. The busser was polite as he dressed empty tables.

Olga R.

Yelp
The food is absolutely a 5!! I was able to make reservations the same day, the young lady on the phone was very pleasant. Waiter was average, however the food and ambiance makes up for the service. I think is a great restaurant to celebrate anniversaries or birthdays. I noticed they do a cupcake with a candle for birthdays. I ordered Lamb with Polenta and kudos to the chef ! It was amazing, I also had apple pie it was also delicious , I will definitely come back ! They also have outdoor seating and heaters, there's parking but the spaces are a bit narrow. This restaurant is famous for the restaurant scene on the movie Mrs. Doubt-fire !

Yelp
Excellent offering of different yummy meals in beautiful indoor and outdoor settings. Always received excellent service

Yelp
Had dinner with future in laws in the pleasant Danville downtown area, notable for its lack of traffic, ample parking, and good choice of restaurants. Bridges may be the flagship; we were seated on the gorgeous patio on a perfect summer evening wafted by gentle breezes and the sounds of a nearby live band playing songs any Boomer would like. Service was a bit informal yet adequate , the food mostly healthy (plenty of fish, avacadoes, and legumvery good. The shrimp in Thai sauce were flavorful though the sauce a bit too sweet and noodle cake a bit bland. The salmon and the hamburger appeared to be above average. Selection of wines was very good with some notable bottles that were not outrageously expensive. The table next to us was sharing a bottle of chilled Frank family Chard that was awfully inviting. I could Ethan k of worse thing than enjoying a crisp Chardonnay with some good friends on a beautiful patio as the soft breezes eased in a perfect Northern California evening.

Sam E.

Yelp
Bridges is a great place with a wonderful atmosphere and a professional staff. The staff is very friendly and attentive. As for the food, I personally enjoy the New York steak and they cook it to your liking (medium rare for me). Their desert paired with an after dinner cocktail is a lovely way to end your meal. The German Chocolate Torte is a must have for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Yelp
Before Bridges & Mrs. Doubtfire was here, Iron Wok was serving Chinese food in this cul de sac off the main street...came here for Tri Valley Restaurant Week... discovered the special menu applied only for dinner...no such notice appeared on either Bridges nor the the Tri Valley Restaurant website. . so i ordered ala carte from the lunch menu. lunch offerings: starters, soups & greens, the main dish, kid's menu, drinks, desserts. drink: xolo covfefe (4) was told it's from s.f. nope. berkeley, ca. -smooth, lite medium roast without any flair nor distinction. probably a mellower than tasted 7 years earlier @danville's farmer's market. (nearby) eats: applewood smoked bacon, poached pear grana padano pizzetta with chili garlic oil, mozzarella (15) -strong flavor/saltiness of bacon, neither bland pear nor grana padano cheese was distinct. with stringy mozzarella noteworthiness for it's stretchiness and mild taste. only the bacon shone amongst the medley. -stirred fried mexican prawns with shitake mushrooms, red peppers, peanuts, mint, thai red curry sauce, crispy noodle cake (33) -was informed shrimp was "wild" sourced. 6 big specimans barely had any succulence, tasted typically like farmed shrimp that 68% of Mexican shrimp is. -crispy noodle cake was performative, a filler, thin noodles had no flavor, thai curry tasted like the commercial kind found in plastic containers. 'rooms, peppers, peanuts, mint just relatively specks in a supplementary role.. *when quizzed by server of my opinion of the shrimp having ate just one or 2, i voiced my displeasure. server said i was given a choice of another entree. i declined as i didn't see anything else i liked. the Atlantic Salmon is farm raised. declined to inquire about the meats. also passed on desserts due to perceived lack of artisanal excellence. **eats have one major note/flavor with other ingredients being "also included" fillers. sadly 3 stars the breads & butter had no artisanal taste. take outs: -there's no "open" nor restroom signs visible. -decent patronage during lunch, nice comfy ambience. -plenty of parking in private lot and public lot nearby..

Yelp
My family and friends love this place. You can never go wrong with anything you order here. My default order and my favorite is the Stir Fried Mexican Prawns with Thai Curry Chili Sauce 5/5 - the crispy noodle cake, shiitake mushroom and the amazing sauce and perfectly stir fried prawns is a perfect dish. Very satisfying dish. Roasted Half Chicken with Pomegranate soy 5/5 - WOW the chicken skin was perfectly crispy and the flavor of the sauce on this juicy chicken is just amazing. Pork chop with summer peach chutney 5/5 - This dish was also really good. Sometimes pork chop can be tough if not cooked well and this one was perfectly cooked and juicy. Other dishes ordered were the special Ahi Tuna, salmon and Opa. My friends said they were excellent too! The service is great and ambiance is so beautiful the outside garden is so beautiful and the indoor dining is also very beautiful. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
We selected The Bridges restaurant primarily because it was in the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire". Because of that, we allowed ourselves to have high expectations. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, appetizers were fine but the main course was extremely disappointing. We ordered the evening special which was a surf & turf consisting of a ribeye and shrimp. When asked for preparation preference for the ribeye, I asked for medium rare. It was deliver well done, accompanied by two small shrimp that looked more like decorations than a meal. The price for the special was $58! I should have just stayed with appetizers.

Yelp
From birthday dinner to Isabelle's simple 18th birthday dinner with her close friends - the staff and their service here is great. Will recommend.

Yelp
Our favorite downtown Danville spot for a great meal. Whether it's lunch or dinner we have yet to be disappointed. The Honey Fried Chicken sandwich and the Bridges burger is our standard split and share lunch...just awesome!!

Yelp
We had a good experience here on a calm Sunday night. The risotto was pretty good, I wouldn't get it again. The burger was very good, that's what I will get next time. Our service was not the best. Overall not very impressed, but would go back.

Yelp
We had a delightful dinner on their outdoor patio area. We were a party of 2 couples. We were celebrating our 62 Anniversary. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining. Their patio is really beautiful with shrub placed throughout the area making it quite peaceful, calm and suitable for a romantic dinner. We started with Truffle Frites for an appetizer along with a nice bottle of Malbec. This was followed by a Lightly Pickled Strawberry Salad. Each couple split one salad, each. This was split for a in the kitchen - a nice way to serve it to us. For our entrees, we each had something different. I had the Pan Roasted Pork Chop, Chinese Five Spice Apples & Walnuts . My wife had the Stir Fried Mexican Prawns, Thai Red Curry Sauce. The other couple had the Pork Chop and the Sautéed Atlantic Salmon, Mustard Dill Beurre Blanc. We finished with coffee, a Berry Cheesecake w/Chocolate Sauce and a complimentary Chocolate Cupcake with a candle in it. The Frites were excellent - served hot and crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside with just a hint of truffle oil. The Pickle Strawberry was a bit different but still very good. All agreed that their entrees were very good to excellent! Our Pork Chops were moist and tender. The Five Spice seasoning was done with care so that it would not overpower the pork. My wife loved her Shrimp dish and raved about the sauce. The Salmon was also moist and flavorful. Portions were very generous. I had half of my Pork Chop to take home as did my wife. The total experience was excellent! Everyone was very happy with their food, service and the prices were reasonable for the Danville area. We split the bill equally. That came to $119.64, tax included but before tip. The Astica Malbec was only $40 for the bottle. My only reason for not rating this review 5-star was the menu offering. It was a bit on the meager side for selection. There was only one beef dish, 2 Pork dishes, 3 fish dishes plus 2 Seafood and 1 chicken dish. I was hoping for a Rack of Lamb or a Braised Short Rib or some other meat choices.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was good, however, the food was not. I ordered the pomegranate chicken and my husband ordered the steak and both of us were underwhelmed. My chicken was overcooked and the flavor was minimal. The Brussel sprouts tasted great but you could tell by the color they were overcooked. I don't even think I ate a 1/4 of the chicken and the server didn't even ask if it tasted ok when I said I didn't want a box to take it. It made me wonder if she knew the food wasn't great there and it was common for customers to not finish meals and not ask for boxes.

Yelp
Was excited to have a meal here over the weekend where Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed, WRONG! Right from the beginning until the end of dinner was below par and super disappointing. The front hostess with glasses was strange at the gate, the water boy with dark hair was shady, service at best two stars and their steak wasn't good at all. No wonder their ratings are heading downwards. Don't have high hopes is my advice then your overall experience will be better than the hype. One star.

Yelp
Ten of us went for brunch today to celebrate a birthday. Got there when it opened, and was t busy. Service was horrendous. Waiter was sweating bullets (it's 60 degrees and we even asked for the outdoor heaters) and kept forgetting parts of the order. Came back twice for clarification. Waited over 20 minutes to even see the waiter when we first sat down, another 25 or more minutes for the drinks and the. The meals came out in shifts. Had to go inside myself and o ask about the dessert and even offered to deliver them to the table since the waiter seemed to have a lot of tables by then. We were there from 11:30-2:45 which is really cool inexcusable. Had to ask a diner at another table to take our group photo since we didn't see anyone from the wait staff for more than 30 minutes. No manager anywhere, just a mess. Food was super basic for brunch. No attempt to plate it with any care, just messy. Really sad, used to love this place.

Yelp
Hard to find much lacking at this place. Located in beautiful Danville this is a bustling weeknight eatery, at least on this Wednesday night. The menu is focused on several dishes as opposed to a monstrous offering. The salmon in a persimmon says with Chinese sausage is fantastic. Great list of cocktails as well. Try the spicy margaritas!

Yelp
Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Lots of high school staff on service, wouldn't be surprised if the kitchen was similar. A lot of the dishes seemed to be mass produced, almost as if the kitchen was designed to just be a buffet line that teenagers "assemble" the dishes. I came in for a Father's Day lunch, after being seated we were not given menus. The waitress came to take our drink orders and was confused when we weren't aware of the beverage options and ran over to get us menus. Once we got our menus - we placed our drink orders (and they got my drink wrong, but I wasn't bothered enough to call it out). After a few minutes we then put in our food orders. Drinks came out in maybe 4-5 minutes. Food came out moderately slowly, but with enough entertaining company - it can be overlooked. Service wise, when it came to utensils - none of the staff was aware of who ordered what, so it became a guessing game of what utensils everyone needed. I got a fork for my pot pie, my father received a spoon for his pork belly. At one point I had a collection of 3 forks despite ordering two spoon-oriented dishes. Appetizer: Chilled strawberry - coconut milk soup. (1.5/5) This is literally exactly all that it contained. I guess I can't complain, I was just hoping there would be more gourmet factor than just diced strawberry and canned coconut milk, served cold, in a large bowl. Entree: chicken pot pie. (2/5) This dish doesn't deserve this name. What I was served was what resembled a mushroom chowder - there were three times the amount of mushrooms as there were chicken, and the "pot pie" is literally just a cheese biscuit placed on top of the bowl of chowder. The biggest waste of $53 I've ever spent. Dessert: pineapple buttercream carrot cake. (3/5) Probably one of if not the only good thing I ate. Sickly sweet though. Strangely cold on the top and hot at the bottom. Like it was served room temp but on a hot plate with caramel syrup. I'm positive the majority of folk that come across this restaurant come because of the dazzle factor from the celebrity movie that was filmed here, and I can say that this restaurant does no longer come close to that level of a refined eatery. A very dismal experience at best, for me - especially at such a high price point.

Yelp
I did a private dining with the Bridges and the service was impeccable. We did a reception with satay appetizers, various wines and champagne and our waitstaff were amazing. They constantly refilled waters and drinks, got everyone's order correctly and we had about 20 people with a 3 course meal. The free bread was just okay, nothing special. The amouse bouch was a shrimp and scoop of mashed potato, different but the shrimp was really fresh. The proscuitto and pecan salad was so yummy and left people who ordered the soup jealous of how yummy it looked. For dinner I had the NY steak, a little upset the menu said it came with broccolini but it's clearly asparagus. Demi glaze was just okay, steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert I did the creme brûlée which was rich and custardy. Would definitely come back. The atmosphere is casual and it is so cool that Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed here!

Yelp
We fully planned on having dinner here, arrived early, and sat in the bar for a little while. Two very sad bartenders, who were polite, but did not seem very happy to be there helped us. Drinks were good, but then we were sat at our table. We waited for about 15 minutes with one server who came by. We asked about a certain dish. He said that he didn't have it, and then simply walked away from us. When looking at the dishes to the left, and the right of us, we saw steaks to the left, which Honestly looked like you would've had a better experience getting them from Sizzler. And pappereelle to the right of us, which looked like stringy meat in a weird brown broth, not what it is supposed to look like! We waited a couple minutes longer, and then decided to grab what was admittedly, a delicious bottle of wine, put the cork in it and go get a burger. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody, and certainly would not consider it fine dining. The atmosphere is similar to an Applebee's, and the service is less than that. Honestly, over 20 years after Mrs. Doubtfire came out, I am not sure why anybody is using this as a reason to come to this restaurant. Robin Williams is turning over in his grave.

Yelp
I have had Bridges on my list for awhile. My sisters and I used to watch Mrs. Doubtfire all the time growing up and we'd always talk about Bridges as if it were a made-up restaurant for a movie. Somewhere in my adulthood, I stumbled upon the fact that Bridges is an actual restaurant in the Bay Area. So given my boyfriend is from the Bay, I asked him if we could come here for dinner when we were in town visiting his family for Thanksgiving. We made reservations via Open Table for 5p on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Little did we know that was actually the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Danville, which ended up being an extra treat. Surprisingly, Bridges was not that busy even though the rest of the downtown area seemed to be bustling. As we walked into the restaurant, I enjoyed taking it all in and thinking through the movie in my head, taking pics, etc. I ordered a glass of wine. I was going back and forth on the salmon and the ravioli. Our waiter told us he could do both, an offer which was pleasantly accepted! My boyfriend opted for the pork chop. He was extremely impressed with his meal-- I've rarely seen him gobble up every last bite! My meal was kind of "meh." As much as I appreciated them doing the salmon on top of the ravioli, they didn't really go together and neither were that great. The salmon seemed to be lacking flavor and the ravioli was too buttery for me. I would love to try to pork chop or another dish in the future. Even though my meal wasn't my favorite, I still really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience enough to warrant 4 stars. I'd love to come back again in the future and try out a few other options.

Yelp
I have always loved the ambiance of Bridges. Today, I took my Mom and a friend and was graciously seated. We ordered the prawn noodle salad. It was terrible. Prawns were good but the cabbage and noodles were combined with a goopy, thick sauce that had no flavor. We couldn't even distinguish noodles in this dish. Happily though, the manager comped us one of the salads when I complained.

Yelp

Yelp
I've been here before and it was absolutely delicious. Coming out of this pandemic I dont know if they are still trying to find their footing or what? But tonight they were terrible. The chocolate cake desert tasted like a pre made frozen desert on a cruise ship. Very artificial and ZERO flavor. Stiff ad hell! Then the pork chop I ordered tasted like spoiled pork!! It was God awful. Like beyond bad meat. I believe it was spoiled actually. The burger was over cooked and SO mediocre. Such a disappointing dinner. At least the manager did the right thing and tried to make things right. I commend him for his efforts.... HOWEVER, how do you make up for a BAD MEAL??? C'mon y'all, do better!
