7 Wine Delivery Services That Ship Wines From Around the World - AFAR

"A data-driven club that builds a flavor profile through a short personality-style quiz (questions like preferred chocolate or iced tea), then recommends a monthly selection you can buy; the reviewer’s sample box included an Australian shiraz with blackberry and eucalyptus notes. The site encourages quick checkout (the reviewer saw a time-limited prompt), and boxes are shipped monthly with the option to cancel anytime." - Tim Chester

Bright Cellars is a great wine club to join!! I get 4 new bottles of great tasting wine to explore every month! I'm always excited when it is delivery time for my new wines!!

I went into this hopeful, but a little skeptical. I like wine, but I am by no means an expert with a refined palette. I usually stick to my usual sweet, fruity wines, and was worried all I would receive from this is expensive wine that I didn't like. I took the quiz just to see what I would be matched with, and after seeing my matches decided to give it a try. I completed my order, and immediately had an email from wine concierge Brooke asking if there was anything she could help with. I decided to have the shipment held at a UPS facility and made the request within 20 minutes of placing the order. Brooke was kind and friendly, and had sent me a request confirmation within minutes via email. Unfortunately, a few days later UPS still made the attempt to deliver to my house, which did not work because nobody was there. After a frustrating phone call to UPS in which they claimed the request was never made and that holding it at a facility was impossible at this point I called Bright Cellars, ready to be disappointed in my decision to try this service. After nearly no hold time, I spoke to wine concierge Paige, who was not only friendly but very eager to help. She told me she would call UPS and let me know the resolution to the situation. Within 10 minutes of hanging up, she emailed me that the UPS facility would have my package the next day. So a day later, I arrived at the UPS facility and to my relief, my shipment was there and in good condition. The wines were packaged safely, not to mention they included a taste guide to show what wine you would like based on your go-to drink. I loved the teal paper the wines were wrapped in, not to mention the quippy stickers! I have since opened one of the wines, and it was comparable to what I said I wanted in the quiz, but I also notice I got a few that will be a little out of my usual comfort zones, which I am excited to try! Overall I am very satisfied, the only reason this does not have 5 stars is the shipping mishap, which *hopefully* will not happen again next month. Happy with my wines!

I literally did this because it was on sale and I have friends who like wine. I loved the presentation when I opened it. I tried a bottle of Crypsis Zinfandel-Montepulciano 2016 and LOVED it. Typically I try to drink wine but just don't like it. It's never right. This was a great wine. I am having a wine tasting girl's night on Saturday and am really looking forward to it. What I loved about Laura, my wine concierge, was that I tried to describe the wine in the review of it and she didn't judge :). I don't know wine terms so I winged it. She had tried it herself and enjoyed it. She actually read my review and note because she addressed specific points and even told me to have a good time with my friends. It is really neat to have someone that will answer your questions. Maybe I'll do cheese, but I won't be able to or probably need to do this monthly. This is just really a neat idea because I've looked at all kinds of sites and what I should pair things with. I find one I can tolerate and stick with it because I'm not adventurous. But Bright Cellars has you covered and suit wine to what you already like. It's just a fantastic idea and while I've only tried the one (restraint) I love it. The packaging is also fun. I took pictures as teasers for my friends :). For some reason I'm not seeing all of them, but they all have cute little sayings on them. It also comes with a card to explain different notes in wine and such. I'm super excited to see what the rest of them taste like. Naturally, the one that I loved is not getting pulled up on this.

Bright Cellars is a great way to try new wines and find out what you like. I've only tried two of the wines so far, but I really like these cards that give you a description of each wine, and are a convenient way to remember which wines you like and dislike. I'd personally recommend splitting a subscription with a friend if it's too costly/too much wine for you each month. Edit: also if you can't be home to sign for it, FedEx can hold it at a nearby location like Walgreens for you to pick up.

I decided to give this subscription based company a chance as one of my favorite YouTuber's had a code. And although FedEx made delivery a little more complicated than it should've been, I thoroughly enjoyed trying something new. I was extremely nervous because right after making an account and purchasing 8 bottles, I read some reviews and they were all bad :( However, that was not my experience. I loved the wines I got and even picked up my box by myself since FedEx was missing me. The only reason I cancelled was because it was more cost efficient to buy in my city rather than fight to pick up my heavy box of wine and it was just a new experiment for me to try during Covid. Bright Cellars offered me some other options which was great customer service, but I opted out.

It might take a couple orders to truly get your taste preferences, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Bright Cellars! The wines are great, they have a wide variety, and it’s always exciting getting that box in the mail and taste testing your wines. The customer service is also very accommodating and prompt! I’ve gotten refunds for broken bottles and it’s super easy to email if you need to extend the time period before your next shipment.

I had an issue with delivery of a box of wine (my fault); however, the communication with Bright Cellars was very timely and the issue was resolved quickly. So far we are enjoying the varietals of wine and really like the tasting cards that come with each wine.

I constantly received terrible wines even though I had an updated profile of my preferences with plenty of reviews. I specifically said I disliked sweet wines ... they sent sweet wines. It was a headache to switch out wines, too. It is like the stitch fix of wines. First box is ok, and the rest really suck.
