Years later from my last visit, I’m just glad that they are still here - doing what they do best. If they weren’t so out of the way, I absolutely would be here much more often. I miss Filipino food and I miss the strong cultural representation that it has in California. Too bad Chef D and Rose weren’t here this visit as I would have loved to see them again and touch base as when I first visited. I’m just glad, however, the food has not gone downhill in flavors or quantity. Prices obviously adjusted for inflation and acceptable. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Best part is seeing all the different walks of life coming in to order food and either enjoying it there in the moment like I did or taking it away to-go with glee. It’s still the casual spot serving up some great tasting food and I just can’t wait to be back again. Thank you and stay awesome!

As foodies this place exceeded our expectations! You really can’t go wrong with what you order. The sauces are super flavourful, meats are super tender and the Lechon Kawali is the perfect combination of textures, tender on the inside and super crispy on the outside. Our favourites so far are the Curried Goat, Lechon Kawali and Bicol Express! Can’t wait to come back and try the oxtail. Highly recommend this spot!

This restaurant was life-changing. Specifically, the oxtail. It's in the ready-to-go hot bar, and it's definitely the best oxtail we've ever tried. The gravy is crazy -- like the best demi glace ever -- and the oxtail is so tender. We'll definitely be back to get a large serving of the oxtail! We also got the shrimp pancit bihon (made to order, so it took some time since they were slammed with takeout orders), which had a lovely garlic flavor. Not many shrimp, but that garlic vermicelli was addicting! It was outshined by the oxtail, but it was still quite good. Needless to say, I love this place and am excited to come back and get more oxtail (and maybe try some more of their Jamaican foods).

This was definitely the best sisig I’ve had in my life! I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Bright Light: it had a vibrant interior highlighting both Filipino and Jamaican décor, interactions with the customers were incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing. I got the lechon kawali sisig and it had a perfect balance of tangy flavor, spice, and richness from the lechon. A very large portion was given to me as well which made for an excellent second meal. I also asked Tita Rose for an interview for a school project I was doing and she graciously gave me some of her time despite being one of the only cooks for Bright Light. Tita Rose was incredibly busy and even had a migraine by the time that we met up and yet, she still gave me her time. She told me that she works and keeps the business running strong for the community and based on her kindness in speaking with me, I wholeheartedly believe it. Please visit Bright Light!! They are an amazing establishment and I can’t wait to keep going back.

Google
a very little restaurant, mini carenderia style. they serve both filipino and jamaican dishes. we ordered dinuguan and bicol express and the serving is good for 2 people, affordable price. 2 dishes, 1 steamed white rice and 1 soda = $33 they also serve more variety of filipino dishes in their menu made and cooked to order. it satisfied my cravings for filipino comfort food.

Google
Delicious Filipino Resto in town, amazing! I ordered 3 pork dishes (pork diniguan, pork bicol, pork adobo) & 1 portion of egg roll, and all of them were so mouthwatering. For Bataknese, the food was quite similar with our ethnic food (diniguan = saksang; bicol = gule; & adobo = babi kecap). Would love to come back to this resto. The waiter was so friendly and nice, there was also restroom in the resto.

This is perhaps my 4th or 5th time here, and this last visit was quite off-putting. Rose, the owner, wasn’t there; it was a man behind the counter. Now, the service remains friendly; however, the food portions were so ridiculous. We ordered a large jerk chicken for $21, and it didn’t come with rice and peas and the steamed veggies that it normally comes with. I had to ask him a few minutes later if we could have some veggies, and he gave us maybe 2-3 spoonfuls, which was insulting. Then I also had the medium-size Bicol Express for $18 and pinakbet for $10, which came with white rice. I mean, $10 for pinakbet with no meat in a small bowl is a shame. The portions were incredibly, shamefully small. The food is still good and authentic, but for $50? I don’t think I’ll be back. The food is 5 stars, but the portions aren’t worth the $.

Google
Not from around here, but if I was I would be 500 pounds because of this place. We got a couple things and everything we got was crazy delicious. Lumpia and pancit bihon reminded me of mom’s. My jamaican beef patty disappeared before my eyes. Seriously, check this place out!

Yelp
One of the few Filipino restaurants we have around the area. If you never had Filipino food before, I suggest you go try this place yourself. It's a good start. A little some what hole in the wall. Family owned. At first you're like Jamaican and Filipino collab? How is that possible? I'm not even sure myself but I think the owners are a married couple (wife is Filipino and the husband is Jamaican). We met both of them when we were dining in and they're both lovely people. But do correct me if I'm wrong! The sisig was good. Sisig paired with garlic fried rice is ELITE. My only two things I would change is adding a nice fried sunny egg on top and make the skillet hotter. When it came out, it wasn't room temp and not sizzling. Fried lechon with the pancit was fabulous. The crispy skin with the fluffy vermicelli noodles. I loved my dine in experience. I would definitely come back ! TIP : ask them for the vinaigrette sauce. It pairs well with EVERYTHING.

Yelp
Off to my adventure exploring Filipino foods all over the world, it was interesting to see how Boston represented. Here was my experience AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking moreover. Seating: Inside seating, good for small groups. There's about room for about 30 people to 8 groups. Vibes: I'm not too familiar with Boston my general vibes of Quincy is that it's semi-suburban, houses but certainly not your downtown area. The place itself is pretty nice. It's pretty split in regards to Jamaican and Filipino which I find kinda sweet as it resembles the owners' relationship. I dig the simple art/decor and the Jamaican music in the background. Good for a casual pitstop or pickup and go. FOOD: Bicol Express (Recommend) Classic and comforting. The pork was well cooked, well seasoned, and sliced well with a balance of meat and fat. I enjoyed the mix of sweet coconut, umami fish sauce, and chili peppers.Mix it with some rice and you're good to go. Jamaican Oxtail Stew (Recommend) Rich with flavors, just sensational. You can spell the spices - Jamaican, allspice, and nutmeg. The meat is very tender and falls off the bone. I complemented it with the choice of Jamaican rice and beans to give it some extra flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! I had a great chat with Rose about Filipino culture and food. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Great variety with great flavors! I dig this spot. It's nothing new or creative but I appreciate the quality they put in both cuisines (they even had dinugan - IYKYK)! To summarize it, it was comfortingly delicious - felt right at home. Best wishes to Rose and Uton with their restaurant! #FilipinoFoodMovement TIPS: *Check out their website for daily specials

Yelp
Wow, that was good! The Oxtail Stew was seasoned very well and had succulent meat. Sizeable portion too, I left very satiated. You get a choice of an entree, white rice / rice and beans, and cabbage slaw. Price depends on what entree you get and the size of the takeout container. Adding an extra protein to the container or getting another protein on the side is an extra $10. Will definitely be back to try some of the Filipino options!

The food is 5 stars, but the portions aren't worth the $. Sorry.

Yelp
Great food and polite staff I eat here all the time! Curry goat is great and their soups are flavorful! Also try the curry chicken patties

Yelp
Great staff. The Jamaican juices are bomb! The food was very good. I wish there was more fusion but good food. I wish the oxtail had butter beans but most places don't. The lechon, the pattie, and lumpia was very good. There is limited street parking but not a far walk from the train station.

Yelp
Amazing comfort food! The jerk chicken and curry chicken was so flavorful and tender. The sweet plantains were also super fresh. Not overly sweet, with a little crisp! The owner was very sweet and helpful as it was our first time there. It was like having a home cooked meal! Super casual spot, with street parking.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying Bright Light! Boston doesn't have many filipino spots, let alone filipino and jamaican fusion. You can already imagine how tasty the food is here. Bits of love and care in each bite from this ma and pop vibe shop. i got the oxtail stew, lechon, chicken wings and halo halo. it brought me back to the Philippines! would love to visit again soon.

Yelp
I was here for late diner, and I was so happy that I chose to eat at this place!!!!!! They offer Jamaica and Philipin food, so you are sure to have a wide selection of food here. The food was fresh, perfectly seasoning and very authentic. I am impressed with the ox tail and halo halo the most! There are no street parking or parking garage next to it, so you will need to walk a little bit (less than 1 min walk) to the restaurant, which is not bad after consuming great food. You can dine in or order to go at the counter, meaning it is a very casual restaurant. You can stop by at any time. The owners are the sweetest and down to earth people! They greet us with the brightest smile even tho we are dining in near closing time. I definitely feel like part of a community while eating here, very welcoming.

Yelp
Heard great things about Bright Light and figured we had to try it out. Bright Light offers both Filipino and Jamaican dishes. You can get both jerk chicken & some lumpia & halo halo, in the same meal, how cool! We decided to do dine in to get the full experience & ordered some lumpia to start, bangus silog & lechon kawali sisig for entrees, and a halo halo for dessert. Lumpia: We ordered their Shanghai lumpia which are pork Filipino spring rolls. I have had homemade lumpia before, and I found these ones to be a little greasier than I would've like & wished that the rolls could've been served hot. They were warmish cold. Bangus Silog: We were a bit perplexed regarding this dish because we were unaware that the fish was supposed to be as dry as it was. I think if we had known, we wouldn't have ordered it because it was too dry for our liking. I think the sauce it was paired with definitely helped but the fish itself was also kind of bland. Garlic rice it came with wasn't bad. Lechon Kawali Sisig: Ordered this dish due to its popularity. This dish had great flavor & had a little kick to it. The pork was nice & crispy, as well as the peppers + onions. I would order this again. Halo-Halo: I loved this dessert. Very tasty and enjoyed all the different layers. Would get this again also. Overall, not the worst meal but I was a bit disappointed. Also, be prepared to wait. Takes a while for the food to come out. The worker at the register was nice & the cook (I think owner too) came out to greet + check on everyone who dined in , which I thought was sweet. Food reminded me of a home cooked meal. I think the food is expensive for what you get.

Yelp
Wanted to stop in after recommendation from a buddy. We decided to grab some egg rolls, fried fish and crispy pork. Staff was super nice, they take your order at the counter and you can choose takeout or dine in at one of the tables in which staff will bring the food to, you. Our meal was about $61 tip included. First the flavor of the egg rolls had a vinegary dipping sauce and vinegary overall theme to most the dishes on the Filipino side. Wish the eggrolls were HOT, but they came out a bit like from the heater tray. The bangus fish (we didn't know the dish is basically dried fish that's fried). This dish using the sauce that comes with it is a must for me, or else it's just too dry for my taste, i should've probably researched it closer. The crispy pork dish was good, tasty hot and had a good flavor profile, paired with the garlic rice and we in business. The plantains reminded me of a baked potatoe in a sense. To end the meal we got the halo desert, enjoyed this a lot. It melded together and was yummy. The place got super busy after 7pm, we were the only ones but people started trickling in. Who i assume was the owner came out from the back to greet us but probably more so a group of regulars stopped in. Will try some of the jerk chicken next time around.

Yelp
A bright light to foodies like us!!! Rose and Uton are awesome and welcoming! The food is so good that we would drive a 100 miles from NH just to order them! Our favorites are: pork dinuguan, sisig (my son's fave), fried pompano fish or bangus, pancit lomi, Bicol express and of course, pork adobo! We also tried the jerk chicken which is also very tasty! The cassava cake is flavorful and super yummy! Love the bright and colorful Filipino and Jamaican decor and the warm ambiance of their place. Wish we live closer!

Yelp
Yum!!! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and so glad I was able to! We got the lechon kawali sisig and y tu he oxtail stew. Yummm. They were delicious. I've been having a hard time finding good oxtail but this place!! Yeah, I'd recommend it. I thought it was perfect honestly. The sisig wasn't as crunchy as I had hope but it was still really good and I'd recommend it still. We ended our meal with halo halo! It's not the best I've had but it was still really good! One thing I'd change is the container it comes in. It came in a cup but it was hard to eat. You had to work ya way down instead of being able to have all the ingredients at once. You order at the counter but there're tables to sit at so you can dine in or do takeout. There're no public restrooms. Overall, I'd recommend and I'd definitely return.

K D.

Yelp
wanted to liked it but most of our food was served luke warm. They might be fine as a takeout option but would skip dining in. The highlight was the lumpia - so much flavor! oxtail dish way too salty and portions small for the prices.

Yelp
I must confess that I had reservations about going to a restaurant that served both Filipino and Jamaican food as it seemed to be an odd combination. While I did not yet try the Jamaican food, I did have the pork Canton pancit, it it was outstanding, fragrant and tasty. Also ordered were the lumpias which were made in house daily, and also delicious. The friendly and very hardworking owner (?) was a joy to deal with. I will definitely go back!

Yelp
Let me start by saying, if I could go to this restaurant every single week, I would! This Filipino and Jamaican place in Quincy is a gem! Ever since coming here, I've been three times and have told all my friends about it. It's not a fusion place, which can be misleading. It's actually two separate menus: One Filipino menu and one Jamaican menu. It's owned by a couple who are... you guessed it! Filipina and Jamaican! I love it here. Food: We got the Crispy Pork, Pork Sisig, Jerk Chicken, and Halo Halo for dessert. The Crispy Pork had an insane texture. It was super crunchy and the skin was crackling perfectly but the meat happened to be tender still! The Sisig blew me away. The peppers, onions, lemon, and the pork blended together seamlessly. I've had this dish 3 times on its own. The jerk chicken was a little disappointing because it was dry but the spices were delicious. The Halo Halo was probably the best I've ever had. There was a good amount of all the ingredients and not one flavor was overpowering. It was so refreshing! Ambiance: The interior is very casual and comfortable. The owners and staff are very friendly and I could tell they knew their community! Price: We got all three dishes and the dessert for around $60. Talk about a bargain! We were so full and even had a full plate of leftovers! The only bad thing about this restaurant is that I don't live closer to it! If you are ever in the Quincy area, you must go here!

Yelp
Typical Filipino/Jamaican ambience but the food really hits the spot esp the Tapsilog (Beef Tapa was made from scratch). Turon was also affordable for $3 for 4pcs and tasty. Service was great. Would recommend this place when you crave any kind of Silog

Yelp
Been wanting to try this family-ran hidden (perhaps not so hidden!) gem in Quincy for a while now! Bright Light is a Filipino and Jamaican restaurant that appears unassuming but is filled with delicious home-cooked-style meals. The restaurant is a bit smaller, so many people were coming in to pick up their takeout orders. Although small, it is welcoming and cozy with a few tables. We ordered at the counter and sat down as they brought the food to us. We paid in cash (for a small discount) after we finished eating. This was my first time having Filipino food so we got some classic staples: Pork Adobo, Pancit Bihon, and of course, Halo Halo. The Pork Adobo was very soft and had a tangy vinegary flavor to it. It's similar to caramelized pork belly but not as sweet. The Pork Adobo was delicious when paired with rice. The Pancit Bihon came with Lechon and their Lechon was amazing! The Lechon was crispy yet not too salty and the tender rice noodles and vegetables of Pancit Bihon complemented the flavorful Lechon. My favorite part of the meal was dessert -- the Halo Halo. The Ube Ice Cream was so creamy and packed with Ube flavor. I loved the drizzled condensed milk on top and how yummy yet refreshing the entire dessert was. There was banana, jackfruit, coconut, nata de coco, and jelly all over shaved ice with beans at the bottom. Overall, I would recommend coming here! Definitely stop by and support this small family-owned local business. I'll be coming back to try their Jamaican food next!

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Overall: 4.5/5 Having visited the Philippines on multiple occasions, we visited one a fall Saturday evening with high expectations. We weren't disappointed! *Beware of early closing times. Due to large takeout orders, they closed early at 730p, while we dined. Easy street parking. Unassuming interior, overall clean. Slower but lovely service, as most of the food was made to order amidst a long line of takeout orders. The hostess kindly offered first-timer recommendations of Filipino cuisine. We didn't try the Jamaican menu. Food took 20min to prepare. Items ordered: - pork adobo ($15)- star of the night; so savory and tender! we left wanting more. - bisteak ($20)- savory and sour beef, tenderly cooked, but a new flavor profile that is less accessible to my friend who was naive to Filipino cuisine - pancit bihun ($16 w the pork belly)- such pillowy and savory rice glass noodles, served with a protein of choice. crispy pork belly cooked to perfection - halo halo ($7)- refreshing, tropical, ube/coconut/mango based frozen treat, not overly sweet Will be back to check out more of their menu.

Yelp
Had takeout from here recently and tried both the Filipino and Jamaican food, and it was a flavor party, so delicious! I love that this place has both cuisines since the owners are from both places - wife is Filipino and the husband is Jamaican. On the Filipino side, the standouts were the adobo chicken, pancit, lechon, and halo halo. The adobo sauce was so savory and packed with umami and a bit of spice and vinegar, I wish I had gotten more of this sauce on the side. Pancit rice noodles were some of the best I have tried, and the lechon (pork belly) was very crispy. Halo halo was a perfect sweet treat, each of layers and textures were fun to explore. We wanted lumpia too, but for some reason this wasn't on the takeout options, but we saw it on their menu on their site. On the Jamaican side, the curry goat was the favorite, and the meat was tender and flavorful. The jerk chicken had some great spice, but was a bit of the dry side. Sadly, they were out of the Jamaican beef patties when we ordered. It's not common to find Filipino and Jamaican food in the Boston area, and I will definitely return to the brick and mortar to try more food next time I'm in the south shore!

Yelp
My family often frequented the former space here: JNJ Turo Turo. Since then, I've been to Bright Light a handful of times in the last few years and am finally writing a review. My partner and I got bicol express, plantains, and halo halo - TASTE: 4/5 - enjoyed the hint of spicy peppers in this bicol express. The plantains weren't at their peak ripeness, but still a good sweetness. Have always loved ube ice cream and the various sweets in halo halo TEXTURE: 4/5 - tasty & fatty pork belly in the bicol express. Plantains were cut thicker than I like, so not as crispy unfortunately. Shaved ice is the least satisfying part of halo halo, in my opinion, but the toppings and syrup made for nice contrast PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $36 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - we weren't super hungry, so sharing the entree worked for us SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 5pm on a Sunday and glad we had the space to ourselves; I remember how packed and busy their grand opening was ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - small family-run space, w less than 20 seats, and Filipino and Jamaican touches PARKING: 4/5 - we're usually able to get a free street spot right in front on Water St. When that's taken, we resort to the tighter spots in the parking lot (Adams Ct) behind Bright Light

Yelp
What a hidden little gem! We were looking for a new place takeout and wanted something different from the Thai, Sushi, and Chinese food that we always get. Filipino and Jamaican food for the win! The front of the restaurant looks very unassuming, but don't let it stop you. What made this visit memorable is the food tastes like a home cook meal made with love. The entire family is working there and makes you feel welcomed. As for the food I thought the curry chicken was fine. It had a nice curry spice and chicken was tender but not as memorable. However, the pork adobo stole the show. It had so much flavor. Tender pork soaked with garlic and soy goodness. I could eat the sauce with rice every day and it would not get old. Give it a shot!

Yelp
The food is mind-blowingly good. Easily one of the top three meals I've had around Boston (and considering the high quality of the food, it's not too expensive). The meat was unbelievably tender and flavorful. Their halo-halo was beautiful (and loaded). Everything seems fresh and homemade, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into what they serve. HIGHLY recommend. Love the wall decor too, and friendly service.

Yelp
If you're in the Quincy area you must try this place. Amazing food. the price is a little high but the quality is incredible and the portions are huge for what you get. The service was great and the woman who helped us was eager to give us suggestions and recommendations. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The Halo-halo and egg rolls (Lumpia) are a delight to order. The place is calming and peaceful.

Yelp
This is a pleasant, family-owned/operated spot offering hard-to-find cuisines at reasonable prices. They are not spectacular at either cuisine, but more than competent enough to be a satisfying find in the ethnic food desert that is New England. Basically one person manning the cash register and bringing out the food to your table, and 1-2 making the food in the kitchen. Smallish place, with only about 6 or 7 tables seating 4 at most. The food takes some time, which is a good sign in terms of reflecting that you're getting fresh made food not Sysco garbage (though I doubt Sysco even offers these two cuisines, lol) or stuff that's been sitting out all day under a heat lamp that might be reused the next day or from the previous day. Portion sizes are reasonable, not massive but not miserly either. All in all, am glad to have found this place and will recommend it to others. Only caveat: avoid the halo-halo, it's very overpriced for what you get which is about 70% of what the real thing is like. Their "turon" (google it) is a much better choice for dessert.

Yelp
This place has been on my list forever and I finally got to try it! It's a small mom pop shop who are Filipino and Jamaican (I think). I ordered takeout but disappointed too late that the Jamaican side was sold out so I ordered mostly Filipino food. I ordered pork adobo (they can out of chicken), pork sinigang, and pancit buhon The flavor of the adobo was really good but wish there was more of it and really wish it was chicken. The pork though was really good but a bit too fatty for adobo in my opinion. First time trying sinigang and I didn't know what to expect! I personally love sour soup but this one was particularly sour. I know a lot of people love it really sour but it was just a tad too much for me My favorite dish was pancit buhon. I knew I would like it because I have rice noodles all the time. The flavor is very subtle and I loved everything about it and it kept me wanting more

Yelp
You wonder what makes this restaurant a straight 5 star-rated restaurant, in its 2 years in business. Let's start with the most important, its food. It's definitely authentic. They have a wide selection of well loved Filipino food : lechon kawali, sisig, tortang talong, pinakbet, sinigang, adobo, pancit bihon, pancit palabok, tokwa baboy, the list goes on. Not only do they offer these dishes, they offer variety of protein selection for each dish like tofu sisig, lechon sisig, Bangus sisig. The ingredients are fresh (scallions and peppers are the greenest of green) and flavorful. Service is friendly, personal and genuine. The co-owner who is Jamaican mans the front of the order counter, brings out the plates and utensils, engages in chatter; tells us his wife is co-owner , the cook, Filipina whom he met in Manila. Then when it came to clearing tables, we got polite table service, it's family run so the stepson came out and gave us to go boxes and bag. When we ordered halo halo, it came out so perfectly layered, filled to the lid with white bean purée, red beans, lychee jelly, ube ice cream - the works! Wonder no more, this place is legit and authentic - snd it's not just the food but the hospitality, the ambiance... it's everything you'd expect from a great dining experience!

Yelp
Great place to stop by for food! Tad bit expensive but the food is good! I would recommend to anyone that stops by the Quincy area!

Yelp
Since starting a temporary gig nearby, I did a search for Filipino food since I was aware of 1 in Quincy. To my surprise, a newish joint... Filipino AND Jamaican... opened up (as of late October 2021). Empanada Turon Halo Halo Beef Patty Bistek Bicol express Palabok Will return to eat the rest of the menu, especially the oxtail stew!

Yelp
Came on a rainy Sunday afternoon for the first time and enjoyed great food. We shared the Chicken Adobo and one of the specials between the two of us, which was the perfect amount of food. The service is efficient, and the space is colorful and simple. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
Food: I ordered Halo Halo, empanada and Lumpia. The halo halo was okay, mostly ice. Empanada and lumpia were fantastic yet tiny but you get 8? Of them. Prices: Fair for the things I got. Service: Was subpar, took forever to get the food (about 45 minute wait each time I went) not sure what that was about. Maybe making the food fresh? Unsure but if that's the case you should be telling people that when they order that the wait may be longer than usual. Out of courtesy. Maybe call ahead? Location: Decent, couple of parking spots near by. I love the fusion of Filipino and Jamaican. Definitely a one of a kind place. I'd recommending getting your food to go. It's hot inside no AC it seems, unless you don't mind that kind of thing. It's a small spot, couple of tables and seats.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday at 5:30, small place so thought better to order take out. It was busy for a small staff of 3. 1 person in front handling tables and take out, 2 people in the back working on orders.... It was a half hour way for my order. Most items are premade and placed in thermal chafing dishes in the front. They have plenty of other items in the back that still need cooking. We ordered Jerk Chicken, Chicken Adobo, Curry Goat, Pork Belly and Stir fry egg noodle with vegetable and of course Halo Halo dessert. The dishes also come with rice. Note: there are 3 sizes to the dishes, small, medium, large. We got small and medium sizes. Jerk Chicken: delicious, addictive, spicy level I was told is a 6, the sauce for dipping was paired perfectly Chicken Adobo: Meat was tender, Adobo sauce was on point, not overpowering, soooo good. Curry Goat: Curry was not overpowering, hint of spicy and the meat was tender, another win! Pork Belly: Meat was super tender, fatty and succulent. The only negative is that the skin was really hard, not crunchy and light as it should have been. The 3 sauces it came with for dipping paired very well: Soy sauce mix, Sweet fruity vinegar mix and an Apple? Sauce mix. The apple sauce mix was super good, we also used it to dip with Jerk Chicken. Vegetable Noodle Stir Fry: Standard, the highlight was the fried garlic they put on top, made the noodle garlicky and yummy! Halo Halo: Ate it up without taking a pic, but there's a lot of pictures already that other people posted. Hit the spot on a hot day. Bottom was dense, light on top as it should be. Overall, this place is a new spot for our family to have on our list of local go-to places to eat. We definitely will be coming back. Note: There is no parking lot, only street parking available but can usually find a spot after a bit since most places around there are just grab and go vendors.

Yelp
WOW!!! I Cannot stress how amazing the food and service is here. The owners and staff really care about you and I appreciate them checking in on you to see how you're enjoying the food. I came here with my friends and got literally everything, and everything was delicious. From my Filipino friends, they said this place is authentic and they love it. I'm vietnamese and the food and flavors also remind me of home. I crave Bright Light on a daily basis. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and try their "Halo-Halo" for dessert!! SOOO delicious. It might seem intimidating for people who've never tried it, but it's an explosion of flavors and its not too sweet! So beautiful I just wish I could eat Halo Halo everyday!

Yelp
Food is really good, but definitely overpriced. $27.00 for rice and oxtail that only comes in one size is just too much. The jerk chicken is the juiciest chicken I've ever had. I personally did not like the plantains, but only because I like mine flattened and more on the crispier side. Patties were delicious. Overall, the best Jamaican food I've ever had in Massachusetts.

Yelp
Omg we had the best dessert ever!!! We just moved to a new place and didn't have any plans for Easter and I'm so happy we went there. Halo Halo looks like a slushy, but so much more. It's layered and green jello bean's which were my favorite! Each layer is meant to be savored. This dessert is so big it's meant for two people. I even brought a 1/3 home. Our wait person was Sherry and she actually made the Halo Halo and I could tell it was made with Love. I tried some different things tonight. We had a thin fried sweet plantain with a wrapper like an egg roll Name begins with Turon I think there's some jack fruit in there too it's delicious! The next time we go there I'm having Curry Goat. I can't wait. I love the fact that the chef owners come out to see how you enjoyed the meal and gives you something to try . I Just Love this place so much and it's My New place to go!

Yelp
When visiting the Boston suburbs, you must come check out this family owned business. From the moment we walked in the doors I knew the food was going to be delicious. This is a Jamaican Filipino fusion restaurant and it was top 10 for me. Rose helped us choose many of the dishes and we sat down to eat and try it all. This was a phenomenal gastro experience and everything was so flavorful. The place was empty aside from the pickup/delivery orders so we were able to really take it all in. I loved every dish. It is hard to choose what was the best but the snapper, the curry goat, jerk chicken, curry chicken, pork adobo, plantain, rice and peas and jackfruit dessert was amazing. This place deserves way more attention than they're getting and being able to sit down in the quiet dining room to enjoy it all, hot and fresh was divine. Absolutely and 10/10 on all fronts. I'm only jealous that my friends will get to experience this way more frequently than I will. Thanks so much!

Yelp
My bro has been raving about this place, so I was excited when we finally got to try. He ordered for pick up in person. It happened that many people were placing a large order that same day, so the wait was long. Not sure if it's usually like that or a one time thing; make sure to plan ahead. We ordered several dishes, and it was favorable. My favorite is the Lechon Sisig. So delicious!

Yelp
Bright light is definitely a Quincy hole-in-the-wall. We had the Oxtail Stew, Chicken adobo, Empanada (Fried), Turon, and the Halo Halo The Chicken adobo tasted pretty bland, we were not that impressed. The Empanada were more dough than filling. The Turons were really good, crispy and sweet! The best dish was the Oxtail Stew, as the juice/sauce helped flavor the rest of the dishes. If anything, we would most likely come back for the Halo Halo as there is no other place in Quincy to get it. We will definitely be back to try more dishes too.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place!! I've probably said this before but I'll say it again - I'm so thankful of having this restaurant nearby. Filipino and Caribbean cuisine is literally a match made in heaven. And not gonna lie, having a TV in the restaurant really gives off that whole "carenderia" vibes that I miss from the motherland. I got the lechon kawali sisig ($18) which is a bit pricey but I have no regrets - the portion is almost good for two people. The flavor was well-balanced and not greasy (which I think a lot of other restaurants' sisig tend to do). And it's a huge bonus considering that this is a family-owned small business. Idc, they can take all my money!!!

Yelp
Such a homey and friendly place. I was so excited to try it and I was not disappointed. I have been waiting for a Filipino restuarant to open up because I want to try Filipino food and this did not disappoint. The owners are Filipino and Jamaican and the vibes are so comfy inside. I got the jamaican patties (so fire, nice and seasoned, and not dry at all, they are addicting), sinigang (reminds me of vietnamese canh chua, a little bit too salty for me), pork adobo (good to eat with rice, reminds me of vietnamese thit kho), and halo halo! I was so happy to be able to try halo halo, and it was so yum, next time I want to ask if I can get extra ube ice cream next time. go support this small business if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. :)

Yelp
When I realized I had never written a review for Bright Light, I was so surprised! I've been here multiple times over the past few months, and each time I've been impressed with the quality and consistency of the food. Since moving to Boston, this place has been my go-to when I'm craving Filipino food. The tofu sisig is rich and flavorful, the lumpia is crispy, and the fried whole fish always reminds me of my childhood. The restaurant is owned obviously family-owned, and it's great to support a local business. It's worth the drive from Boston to Quincy, so definitely check it out!

Yelp
Food is consistent. Would recommend take out over dine in if you have a large party. Portion size seem smaller than last year.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Service was excellent, although it's not handicap accessible restaurant the owners made a way to make it accessible for my family. Definitely recommend
