This place is doing what every community should be doing in Detroit, heck they are doing what all communities should do. Good food, good people, farmer's markets, classes, a cafe, an event space, commercial kitchen available to rent, and much more at very reasonable prices, fresh food as local as possible and the proceeds support fantastic programing. Also it's a lovely little oasis- bright festive colors and well maintained facilities! What else could you ask for?

Attended a vegan cooking class here. Nice spacious building with an awesome kitchen. I love the renting concept they offer to businesses.

Great establishment in every way. Quality food made in-house, large variety of tea, coffee, and many bulk staples all offered at great prices. Staff is friendly, responsible, and engaged in the community, and every time I've come in I've seen someone I know and met someone new. Cafe space is clean, cozy, and inviting. All of the positive reviews I've read are spot on!

Do you exclude the white residents of brightmore still?

Every Friday they give out fruits and veggies and other things during the summer it be different vendors there starting at 3pm I go every week

Very nice helpful people... Do alot for the community and provides the necessary tools and supplies for the people in the area to keep the neighborhood clean and green... Kudos keep up the good work! Update: Since the project has changed hands, it has been HORRIBLE!! They don't keep their lots cut, they have events where their customers block our driveways... RIDICULOUS!!!

I tried volunteering for this establishment and a young lady approached me as management and asked for my help in sustainability. I dove in headfirst to help as much as I could. So I was called in to volunteer or plant plants in the garden and plan out a full garden experience and when I get there, no plants to be found, she wasn't even wearing a coat for working outside no tools no gloves nothing.. but she sure did have a pen and paper. So after this meeting she says the legal team will contact me. Which never happened and than she goes ghost.. when she finally comes back after leaving my messages on read she says she's gonna go a different direction while using the excuse of needing to take me time and not checking her phone. I was never compensated or acknowledged for my volunteer time and felt honestly taken advantage of. I would love for the management team to contact me.

This is a comfortable, safe place to spend an afternoon or a whole Saturday. There's a cafe with delicious homemade food (with most ingredients coming from neighborhood farms), coffee, teas, and pastries - at a very good price. My wife and I have lunch or a light dinner here a couple times a month. The rest of the building is basically a commumity center with a commercial kitchen you can rent (if you want to start your own food business). It hosts activities for all ages, but I'm most impressed by the programming they have for children e.g. cooking classes and a summer camp (where the kids get 2 meals all summer). There's also a decent farmer's market every Friday during the growing season. Definitely worth checking out.
