Hello, my name is Carolyn Morris and I’ve been here at Brightwater for almost 3 weeks. I’ve had wonderful experiences here. This is a wonderful skilled nursing facility but I especially want to mention a lady that has gone out of her way to help me and she’s very sweet and wonderful. Her name is Yosy YOSY and she is a very dedicated kind worker that you should be very proud that you have. In your company

The staff here are incredible. You can see the dedication they have for the patients and their families. Everyone is hard at work every time I walk in. I’d tell everyone to go there if they need rehab or a great place to live.

I recently helped my parents move into Brightwater independent living. We started the process of evaluating independent living options for my parents back in November. We looked at several in the area, and they were nice, but Brightwater had a warm feel and everyone we met there was happy. It is very unusual these days to find a place that so many people from all backgrounds and places come together and are so friendly with each other. I spent almost a month there during my parents move-in and continue to be impressed every day with the quality of care and the feeling you get as you walk through the facility. The food is delicious (the other places seemed a bit more institutional in food choice and quality). The facilities are beautiful and well maintained, even though it is the oldest of the ones we looked at. My parents are very happy there, although a bit overwhelmed by the change in their life (all good). Their only regret is that they didn't make the move sooner, where they could really enjoy all Brightwater has to offer. I know in my gut, this was the right move for them, and I believe it will extend their life and the enjoyment of the time they have left. Thank you to all at Brightwater for making it such a wonderful place. It really is special and very comforting to visit my parents knowing they are in a great community of people that can support and nurture them.

Just moved into our cottage at Brightwater.Thank you Linda Rekya for your patience over the last two years as we gathered information and then decided to become a members of Brightwater Independent Living. As overwhelming as it is to move, our transition specialist, Joseph Patrick made the process much easier. From the Brightwater Blue and Green Welcome Bow on the door to treats and flowers on the counter and lunch and dinner for us, we felt right at home. Joseph communicated with us every step of the way and made sure we had a smooth transition. We were introduced to our mentors, Susan and Lonnie, who have been more than generous with their time. Thank you Brightwater for welcoming us with open arms. Neighbors are friendly, the entire staff is knowledgeable and willing to help. It is a beautiful community with loving and caring members.

From our first meeting with Rene to our interactions with the rest of the staff--the manager, the chef, and Joseph, the transition specialist, we were beyond impressed. Everyone took the time to answer our questions and address our concerns. We've been amazed at how friendly and welcoming everyone has been. We look forward to many happy years at Brightwater.

The staff and residents of the Brightwater community are kind, supportive, and welcoming. Our family held 2 special events in the month of June to celebrate a birthday and our parents’ anniversary. After just a few emails to discuss options, the Brightwater staff took over all of the planning and preparation. This was quite a relief since we do not live locally. The days of the events, we were able to celebrate and spend time with our parents since the amazing staff at Brightwater handled all of the details with food prep, cleanup, and even taking family photos to capture the moments. Special thanks to Steve, Tracey, Lisa, Kim, and all of the Brightwater staff for helping to coordinate these memorable moments for our parents.

Have visited the facility a number of times during the past 6 months. Having decided it was a great place for us, we had our 4 children visit to get their opinion. All 4 agreed it would be a great place for us, consequently we are moving forward and having a cottage being built. Looking forward to moving in to our new home in August/September.

Yelp
my husband was sent there after brain surgery for rehab. he spent a week there and never saw the gym. He said the food was horrible & the care worse. I never saw a rehab person come to his room at all. He was to get speech, occupational,& physical therapies. He didn't get much if any of that. I took him out early because he was miserable. The discharge process was horrible. A nurse went over the meds, which we should have been given a weeks supply of. Needless to say there were 2 vital meds that we were not given enough of. They were supposed to write scripts for the rest of the meds, which they did not. 1 med they only gave us 3 doses of & today being Sunday is the last dose we have. I was told to come pick up what I needed & when I got there nobody seemed to know anything about that. Not only that, we were not given any instructions about his care other than to make an appointment with our family doctor within 7 days. This is absolutely the worse experience I have ever had with anyone in the medical field. For your own sanity & the health of your loved on DO NOT send them to Brightwater Rehab

Yelp
Lorraine: I read your response to my post and felt an obligation to state some facts. No one from Brightwater has "reached out" to us. However, we have "reached out" to at least three members of the "Brightwater Team" and detailed our experiences. So, we did follow through on our responsibility to help Brightwater become a "better place". I must admit, I did hold back on my opinions concerning certain individuals on the "Team" as they are opinions -- not facts -- and I didn't, and still don't feel comfortable expressing negative opinions about specific individuals. Having spent many years in advertising and public relations I am aware of the importance of creating and preserving an image. I commend you on your efforts to maintain Brightwater's image. But, you might want to mix it up a bit -- your responses seem too much alike.

Yelp
have lived here in this community for 3 years, because of the continuum of care & really enjoy the services my wife & I get. Truly wonderful people who work here. From the activities, to the services from Live Long, we are very much appreciated. Robert Long

Yelp
Just an FYI...Brightwater has been fined. Brightwater was fined in April of 2019, Federal fine, of $13,905.00. You can read why at Medicare.gov. Also, Brightwater is on the Medicare watch list. The only way to get off this list is to pass the inspections. Also, Brightwater is subject to more inspections in a 12 month period because of their fines.

Yelp
Family member went to Brightwater's rehab center after a surgery. The wound was in great shape upon entering Brightwater. In house doctor was MIA when nurses there wanted him to look at problem with it. She came out of there with an infection that caused re-hospitalization. Not impressed.

Yelp
They do not deserve even 1 star. BEWARE BEWARE!!!! There was so much infection in my husbands catheter that a blind person could have seen the gunk. He couldn't breathe, wanted to go to emergency, but Heidi said that she had been in his room 4 times that AM and he was just fine. When we finally got to emergency his heart was racing, blood pressure so low that they didn't think he was going to make it. Came into room wanting to know if he wanted to be resuscitated as they are pumping antibiotics into his IV. He was septic. Medicine never on time, when they finally came they didn't have the Percoset. Had I not been there and asked what the two pills they had were for who knows when he would have received his pain RX.

Yelp
If you have family members at Brightwater rehab center get them out they will be in worse shape then they were before they entered. They don't rehab the patient they just let them rot in bed. Then they will trow you out on the street if you complain. Worse place ever should be closed down.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the below people are talking about, but Brightwater has been nothing short of amazing for my family. My parents moved into Brightwater a few years ago and have absolutely flourished! I haven't seen them this happy or active in a very long time. They are always doing something and having a blast. They are in Independent Living, but my dad has used the rehab services after a surgery and it was nothing short of incredible. The doctors didn't think he'd ever recover like he has and we owe all of that to the amazing staff and care givers there. I couldn't speak more highly of Brightwater and the life they've given back to my parents, that they could've never had in their own home.
