"Brij Rama Palace was first a fort, then an aristocratic residence, and now, a luxury hotel. You’ll arrive by boat via the Ganges, rather than attempt to wrestle with Varanasi’s snarled roads, and you’ll find yourself in an eclectic environment — the interiors span any number of eras and styles, and the elevator is a replacement for what is alleged to have been the first one installed in South Asia." - Mark Fedeli

We had such a great stay at the BrijRama Palace. The hotel staff was incredible—friendly, professional, and always ready to help. They really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home.||The food was a real highlight—so many delicious dishes and interesting flavors. We especially loved the coconut chutney—it was absolutely amazing. Ravi and Fahud from the restaurant staff were wonderful. They were warm, attentive, and made every meal feel like a special experience.||One surprise was how much we genuinely enjoyed just being in the hotel itself. Between the views overlooking the Ganges, the peaceful balcony for sunrises and sunsets, and the free activities like yoga, pottery, astrology, and evening dance performances, there was always something to do or enjoy.||Also—make sure to schedule the free 15-minute foot massage. It was so relaxing, we ended up booking full body massages afterward (definitely worth it).||All in all, we loved our time at BrijRama just as much as we loved exploring Varanasi. Highly recommend.

BrijRama hotel staff was extremely cordial and made our stay utmost comfortable. They were very attentive and constantly strived to give us the best experience. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Anytime we called with any request, they would go above and beyond to satisfy us and were always laser fast in attending to our needs. My parents also loved their time at BrijRama and kept raving about it ever since.|We want to give a special shout out to Fahad and Ravi! They are both amazingly awesome! We missed breakfast time one day because of Abhishekam and Fahad assured us that he would take care of us with whatever was available so we won’t go hungry once we were back. He took care of us while the staff was busy preparing to setup for lunch. |Ravi was always eager to give the best service to all the guests. He would give suggestions and ideas on what’s best and if we missed ordering something he would just bring them anyway. He would always send some special dish as a surprise to our table. |Overall, we had an absolutely pleasant and enjoyable stay and would love to come back again and again!

Fabulous place to stay. The service is incredible. The room was amazing. I really enjoyed the spa. Thr complimentary daily activities were also fun and much appreciated. Fahad provided great service in the dining room. Any need I had was promptly addressed. This place is magnificent and I am so glad I chose to be here for a few days. It was well worth it.

I went to Varanasi for a trip and I stayed at this hotel. The service and food is spectacular and the greetings are great. But I have some complaints, Firstly it is very overpriced, 10,000₹ for a massage??? As is the room and food. Also the rooms look absolutely nothing like the picture. In the pictures it shows a grand palace with rooms that make you feel like you're in heaven but it is just average.

I think this is one of the oldest luxurious hotels in India You should stay here for one day. They perform classical dance during the evening. The staff treats you like you are the king/Queen.

Such a lovely restaurant. We came back twice. It was not only good but also very accomodating for gluten allergies. I'm celiac and I've been very well cared for. Always make sure to mention it if you are. Akilaish, the chef, has made Saffron Rasmalai specially for us, to make us try an authentic indian dessert, which we really appreciated. My favourite dish was Eggplant curry, a recommendation of our waiter Ravi who took such good care of us these two days! Thank you!

We had a truly delightful dinner at Brij Rajmahal resturant - Darbhanga. The ambiance was regal yet welcoming, and the service impeccable. A special thanks to Chef Akhilesh, who personally recommended a selection of dishes that were absolutely delicious—each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. His attention to detail and passion for food truly elevated our dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable culinary evening!

We were really excited to stay at BrijRama Palace for our anniversary — the property is undeniably beautiful and the location by the Ganges is one of a kind. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a serious case of food poisoning after dinner at the hotel. We spent our entire anniversary night sick, unable to sleep or enjoy anything we had planned. The next day, we were extremely weak and had to postpone our travel plans and extend our stay by an extra night (which we were charged for, though discounted). What made it worse was that we were initially quoted a much higher rate for the extra night than what was later offered. We had to ask for the invoice to be corrected not once, but twice, which added extra stress during an already difficult situation. While the staff were polite and responsive, the support felt more procedural than truly caring. In a hotel of this category, we expected a more empathetic response — or at least a sincere gesture of goodwill — given the circumstances. The architecture and atmosphere are beautiful, but sadly, the experience left us disappointed. I hope the hotel improves how it handles such situations in the future.
