We rented this space for a Welcome Party the night before our wedding. Jeff and Julie were extremely easy to work with and very upfront with pricing and availability. We had an event for about 80 people that showed up and left throughout the night and we never felt too crowded. We had Binny's deliver the alcohol and they were there to help the guys place the drinks in the kitchenette and helped ice down the bottles of wine. Do bring BLUETOOTH or WIRED speakers - we had one and it was fine but should have brought two. We tried to use our Sonos speakers but couldn't get onto the wi-fi from downstairs. If I needed the space, I would rent from these guys again. If my friends need space, I would suggest they rent from Julie and Jeff.

This space is so cute and so much to look at. I found this piece of Cubs Baseball memorabilia that dates from my birthday. You never know what you'll find here. Definitely check it out!

It is a very cool store with some very cool vintage pieces. The visual look of the store is amazing. The only negative I have with this place is the price point being extremely high for the merchandise. I have seen lots of stuff that they carry cheaper online or in other antique stores. They do cater to a specific lifestyle and look that is popular. Its a great place to get inspiration, which is the main reason I visit the store. Oh, and to buy their awesome candles!! Best candle selection if you like that woodsy/sandalwood smell!

The best spot to get the man in your life some gifts. They have everything from vintage cocktail sets to real flannel blankets. They even have beautiful, 1950s man-cave-esque furniture for sale including armchairs and couches. This is where I go to get gifts for my father and brother who are beer and cocktail enthusiasts. Great spot!!

Update: One of the store's owners, Jeff, called me and threatened to sue me for defamation if I did not take down a negative review I posted elsewhere. I will not be taking it down. Do not do business with these people! We rented their event space for our wedding. I wish we had not and I would advise anyone looking to rent this space to run, not walk away. The space is really cool, but dealing with the owners is not worth it in our experience. It seems inexpensive at first, but they did not disclose everything they charged until after we had put down our deposit. They quoted us a price for the space, then when it came time to sign the contract there were numerous fees in addition to the rental price that had not been discussed. We should have walked away at that point, but we liked the space so we went ahead. When we arranged our load in we had a huge headache. Our contract stipulated a load in 24 hours before the event. Our event was on Sunday evening so we expected to load in on Saturday. When I called to arrange it, Julie said there was another event booked in the space for Saturday. The load-in time she offered us for Saturday conflicted with our groom's dinner. We agreed to load in on Friday instead. Before agreeing I asked her specific questions about storing perishables in the space and she said we would be able to store them. However, when we arrived for our load in, we felt we were treated like an inconvenience. Julie refused to allow us to store our perishables as agreed, citing the other event as the reason. I reminded her that we had discussed this and I had specifically asked about the perishables. She responded "You were supposed to come on Saturday." This was very frustrating because I thought we had an agreement about loading in on Friday and storing our perishables. I also felt frustrated because it seemed like she was trying to blame us. This left us scrambling to figure out what to do with our perishables because we didn't have another place to store them. I became very upset and broke down in tears. She later told us that she normally doesn't allow people to get into the space until the day of the event and that she was doing a us a big favor letting us in early at all. However, the contract does stipulate a load in the day before. We felt this was a very strange thing for her to say. After dealing with Julie and Jeff I would believe every single bad yelp review without question. I would also highly recommend that you google the name "Jeff Fernstrom" before renting the space. We had a terrible time working with this business, felt we were treated extremely rudely by the owners. The event space is above a furniture store also owned by this couple. I never saw a single customer in the store. It's February and they still have their Christmas decorations up. I would venture a guess that they really need the business from the event space to stay afloat. I was surprised at how poorly we were treated as customers paying for their event space. Not worth it. Avoid.

The ultimate store for classic preppy plaid shopping. They have new and antique offerings, plus they have a killer event space upstairs with classic chic cocktail lounge style. I bought the cutest pink elephant highball glasses here and I only wish they had more. Also a destination from vintage Pendleton Blankets, classic cookie cutters, and Christmas ornaments.

This review is to write about the deplorable business practices of Julie and her husband, Jeff from Brimfield. Look at previous reviews and you will see that you should not only never book their rental space, but also for good measure never shop at and support a company that is so backhanded. My fiancé and I booked their upstairs space to have a wedding reception in our hometown of Chicago. We were promised a contract and after spending an hour on the phone with Julie going over details and asking about their refund policy (which she said our deposit was refundable until 3 months before the event date), we gave a 50% deposit (over $2,000). After running the credit card, she proceeds to mention rules - like how we have to have a $1 million insurance policy, and we must hire one of her employees to be a bartender. I was prepared for a list of preferred vendors, but this started to seem a bit sketchy. For the next 3 months we called 6 times asking for the contract. At one point she said her husband sent it to the wrong place. She then said she didn't have our information. One time she said that we hadn't paid the deposit. She finally told us that we are booked for that date and not to worry but there would be no contract. Soon after we decided to cancel the party and I called to receive a refund. This was more than a year before the event date. Julie told me the deposit is non-refundable and that there is no way we are getting our money back. She spouted off a non-refundable policy that I had never heard of. After I objected, she proceeded to yell at me and tell me this was clearly laid out in my contract. What?! After saying I never received one because she said I didn't need a contract, she said "Oh, that's right you didn't need one." What? But the...? How? Needless to say after several unreturned phone calls, letters, and emails, a fraud process through Discover where she magically produced a receipt that I had never seen, I still have no resolution for this one year later. Do NOT book this place. She lies and steals money. Plain and simple. I'm not one to write reviews on Yelp but I can only hope someone will see this and be saved from the experience I had.

Lady (Julie?) was rude and a real B. Kept asking us if we had any questions or needed help every time we picked up something. Clearly she was worried about us breaking or stealing something. Funny, all the white people were greeted with hugh smiles and she didn't stalk them. That's fine, we spent 2 bills down the street. Never going back so she will be happy about that. BTW check out all the one star rating comments.
