Last minute booking here with my girlfriend for 2 nights while on a random road trip. 10/10 price, location, breakfast, staff, room. For the money it is superb.
I much prefer these smaller places over big hotels, you always get a much more personal experience and I chose Brindleys mostly on the basis that it offered a well reviewed breakfast, after another place left my girlfriend a little disappointed in that regard.
Met by warm and welcoming staff. Led to a lovely room, upgraded as they were quieter, which I am grateful for. Decor was decent and modern, heating was warm, bedding/towels were of high quality and clean, everything was just right.
Location is quiet and walkable to anything you would want to visit in the centre: nothing is more than 10-15minutes. I feel Brindleys is very good value for money in this regard, especially considering the quality of the breakfast. My partner is Brazilian and she loved the traditional quaint British style of the breakfast dining area and the breakfast itself, particularly the fruit and the eggs, which is a real compliment as breakfast is her favourite and often only main meal. I have to agree with her and I never eat breakfast, only when we travel - the eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon was delicious, and the fruit was remarkably fresh, as good as any breakfast I have had anywhere on our travels in the World. I would stay here again quite happily.
