Brioche Coffee & Brunch Review - Balham - London - The Infatuation

"In an area of London known for its latte art and queuing-for-brunch culture, Brioche in Balham is a little bit disappointing. The cafe serves a lot of the usual breakfast things, but their specialty is replacing sourdough with thick brioche. While that sounds good in theory, it doesn’t hit like it’s meant to. The dry brioche tastes like it’s come straight out of a packet and has never met a toaster, plus the ratio of toppings to carbs is off—so we’d stick to the sourdough. Inside it’s plain, bright, and perfectly nice-looking with enough space to gather a couple of friends over a coffee and slice of banana bread—and for that, it’ll do just fine." - Rianne Shlebak

London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Brioche is a breakfast and brunch spot in Balham that has a morning food for every mood. There are six bagel fillings to choose from, pancakes, a Spanish chorizo hash, and a whole section dedicated to eggs benedict on brioche. Just know that it's walk-in only on weekends. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

This was my first and last time at Brioche Balham. I won’t be going back. Place is very mediocre no decor no character. Food was disappointing beans and bagel (nearly £10 for a bagel) bought likely from Tesco. I ordered Americano which was disgusting it tasted like chlorine not coffee. And the goal was the state of salt and pepper they brought to us FILTHY ! Menu looks like it has been chewed up by bunch of dogs. Total waste of my money.

My visit to Brioche Coffee in Balham was amazing! The salmon bagel was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious—one of the best I’ve had. A special shoutout to Alison for her outstanding service; she was warm, attentive, and made the experience unforgettable. Great food, cozy vibes, and top-notch service—I’ll definitely be back!”

Gorgeous breakfast! Lovely coffee! Highly recommended. Reasonably priced and nice staff. I took my (relatively fussy) parents here and wife for breakfast on the opening weekend. The coffee is delicious (we had espresso/flat whites) and a selection of the breakfasts. The cooked chorizo is great quality, perfect eggs prepared to different tastes, and great quality bread/brioche. Honestly a brilliant addition to Balham, and much better than the local chains. very happy.

Lovely little place, very calm environment, good music, staff were friendly. My latte was silky and smooth. I had the chorizo hash, came with 2 poached eggs and sourdough toast, tasted so good and was filling. Definitely coming back when back in the area.

Have been coming here since it opened and can highly recommend the cafe. Food always good and cafe great. People nice and friendly. Give it a go if you’re in the area. Much nicer than the chains.

I visited Brioche on Saturday 9th November. I ordered two takeaway coffees and some croissants. They need to invest in more coffee machines as I literally waited 18 minutes for two coffees. There were two more people in front of me so its strange to see why it took so long. No acknowledgement of a delay or me waiting a long time by the staff. To top it off the lids for large coffees don't actually fit. Not the best experience. Maybe invest in more coffee machines, to handle both the takeaway orders and dine in customers.
