The Good: Let’s start with the positives. Briskstand Asakusa was on Oli’s must-eat list for our trip, and it didn’t disappoint. Tucked down a little laneway, it’s quite unassuming from the outside, but clearly popular — there was a small wait across the laneway before getting in. Once seated, everything ran smoothly, with air conditioning on point and staff getting us settled quickly.
The Standout: The burgers. Easily some of the best we had. The soft potato bun — which almost felt lightly steamed — was the real hero: fluffy, delicate, and the perfect match for a juicy burger. The fries were chunky and crisp, more wedge-style than shoestring, and super satisfying.
The Room for Improvement: The wait can be a little awkward since it spills into the laneway, but it moves quickly and is well worth it.
Would I Return? Absolutely. I’d happily line up again just for that bun alone.
The Verdict: In conclusion, Briskstand Asakusa is a hidden gem for burger lovers in Tokyo. Simple, done exceptionally well, and absolutely worth seeking out if you’re in the area.
