Bristol Farms Makes the Best Erewhon Smoothie Dupes | Eater LA
"Across multiple visits, the juice counter here proved a fast, friendly stop with helpful staff and no on-screen tip prompt, serving six smoothies that are almost as satisfying as Erewhon’s but less intense and sweet and roughly half the price (16 ounces at $9; a 32-ounce large at $13). The BFF blends strawberries and blueberries into a jammier, fruit-forward sip that avoids coconut-cream overload and stays actually smooth from the first sip, unlike Erewhon’s milkshake-thick blends; if that Hailey Bieber Strawberry Glaze is Glinda, this one’s Elphaba. Coastal Sunset mixes strawberries, papaya, orange juice, and coconut water with blue-algae sea-foam cream for a papaya-heavy, very pretty drink streaked dark orange with blue lines, reminiscent of Jamba’s Caribbean Passion. The Glow stars mango, papaya, and pineapple with a strawberry-lime collagen puree; it’s less focused but still worth ordering, especially next to Erewhon’s $19 Malibu Mango. Pink & Black piles on coconut (cream, milk, water, and probiotic yogurt) with pineapple and relatively neutral dragonfruit that keeps the sweetness from turning cloying. Natural Beauty is the very-green option—spinach and kale with papaya, pineapple, and mint over coconut water, finished with a bottom layer of coconut cream infused with lion’s mane, L-theanine, and alpha GPC—and it works because the fruit and mint keep the veggies in check. Overall, the ingredients are excellent and the value compelling, even if nothing here is meant to blow anyone away." - Matthew Kang
