The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"Like many cities worldwide, Porto has been overrun with bakeries offering sourdough bread since the pandemic. In the Marquês neighborhood, Brites goes beyond crunchy loaves, with golden croissants and kouign-amann, soft focaccia, and sweet pastries, which tempt passersby from a window to the street. Don’t miss the bolas de berlim, a doughnut-like pastry filled with a sweet custard. Know before you go: At lunchtime on weekdays, Brites also serves focaccia sandwiches filled with Portuguese staples like Serra cheese and cured ham (and also vegetarian options)." - Rafael Tonon

One of the best pastry shops I've ever come across. Perhaps even the best, and they know it. For a tourist, even the prices are very affordable and it was a delight to find the place by chance next to my accommodation I've recently had a problem with one of their products and went to tell them. They handled it very professionally, offered to change the product and return my money which made me appreciate them even more. They seem to have very high standards and want to keep them like that Would definitely recommend to everyone visiting Porto

The coffee was good.. the croissant not really and my seating was the worst. It ruined my day for some hours tbh - i was craving peace and a slow morning and literally EVERYONE hit my table or chair by passing by / paying / ordering / aaskin queations etc Really got on my nerves The table there is not ideal..

We randomly came across this lovely bakery while staying in Porto and I'm so glad we did! The pastries were flaky, buttery, and delicious! They were so tasty that we returned every morning we were in Porto. Highly recommend if you're staying in the area to come grab a pastry for breakfast - you won't be disappointed!

This bakery and pastry shop has an excellent quality. I ordered a capuccino and a pain au chocolat, both delicious. Unfortunately I can’t give 5 stars because the capuccino was served in a glass (not aesthetically pleasing), instead of the cup, which is really important to preserve the right temperature and to maintain the proper balance of espresso, milk and foam. The cup size and shape are also important for showcasing the drink's layers and allowing the aroma to be appreciated. Thank you.

One of my favourite bakeries in Porto!! I tried a selection of their pastries and each one of them is so damn good (although for some they could be too heavy and sweet). The prices are super fair, I just wish they had space to sit down inside, but it’s only take away

Great pastries. kouign amann was the best. cinnamon roll was something that i have been looking for. I have been having a hard time finding a cinnamon roll without crazy icings where i live. and they had the perfect cinnamon roll with great taste without extensive sugar.

Croissant is as close as it gets to the real French one! Almost perfect. Crispy, buttery, flaky. Pain o chocolate was even better. Real dark Chocolate inside. The taste of heaven comes with a price, but absolutely worth it compared to all the others shops.
