We just came to look around after lunch and we were so excited to see all the stuff this place had to offer. They have everything for real!!! We didn’t get anything this time but will definitely be back when i need some stuff i know i wont find anywhere else. Also, the woman tending the store was super nice just letting us browse around and take a photo with the boards haha.

The selection and prices are amazing. The customer service is great also and there is a point system which gives you money off your next visit depending on how much you spend. Love this place for my British treats from back home

We love shopping here! Got a couple of figgy puddings for Christmas, and a few other item. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The selection was great, and the Easter snacks were an especially lovely surprise, felt like a real seasonal treat. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a taste of the UK.

Generally nice place with a good selection of biscuits and chocolate. Unfortunately, the Mr Kipling cakes I bought had fungus (pictured) - my guess is they struggle to manage their inventory turnover and things go stale 🤮

Everything and more that you can think of! Well stocked, organized, Nice and clean! So much different, exotic items to choose from such as teas, candy, drinks, tea pots, and even British memorabilia. I especially like the freezers full of mini shepherd's pie, beef patties, bangers, sausage rolls, sweet bake wells, and more! Delicious somethings for everyone! Will definitely be returning to this one of a kind shop!

Yelp
This place is just adorable! I stopped by, and was surprised about the little thing the store has all around. David is a lovely man that guides thru the shop and tea room. I have plans to reserve a tea afternoon experience vin the next few weeks and post a review about it. Stay tuned!

Yelp
Fun British market vibe. I purchased a Twinings orange & cinnamon spice tea pouch before committing to a larger amount. They also offer British trinkets, candies, condiments and cold beers. Most of the items are well priced under $10.00. The full size cardboard likeness of Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth added a quirky, nostalgic touch to the atmosphere.

Yelp
Cute little market where you can find many British items and when I say little, believe me, it's little! It can get a bit cramped when busy so keep that in mind. They carry all sorts of tea, candy, chips (or crisps as they're known across the pond) and many other items as well as some frozen items like English sausage(bangers) and other meats. They also sell T-shirts, coffee mugs and other souvenir type things. Both times I've been there the workers have been very pleasant and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Fun place to browse and see the different offerings.

Yelp
I had seen another yelper check into this place and wanted to see what it was all about. Last time I tried to go it was closed. Today I made it! Let me start off with the charming guy that worked there! He was so cute and helpful, I asked if he tried everything in the store and he said most of it, so I asked what his favorite ones were.. He did not disappoint. And before you ask..he did have an accent.

Yelp
We love this market. My daughter wanted to buy some tea and other goodies as well. She saw the two teas on Amazon and was excited to see that this store carried them! As well as the Vegemite-- yuck in my opinion--she is planning on using it on some vegan cottage cheese that I made for her. The woman who was working there tonight also went out of her way to make sure that the Fox's Party Rings were vegan friendly for her! I have been ever craving potato and leek soup ever since going on a murder mystery dinner train and was happy to see that they sold a canned version; hopefully it settles that itch. We'll definitely have to go back as we also saw many interesting flavors of chips: think things like Bacon and a type of roast.

Yelp
I've come here before, but the last time I came in was because I went to have high tea at the establishment that is in the back of the supermarket. The supermarket is very well stocked with items, and every time I've been inside, the person in the store has always been extremely nice. Especially since you cannot go to the high tea place through there you have to go outside and around the corner to get to them. Therefore both places are not connected even though it's right next to each other.

Yelp
So I had gone to do a tea right behind their location and ended up with a desire to buy some British goodies. It's all here people: the Branston, the Wispa bar, and the great tea that's served out back. They are usually open to about 7pm and they are centrally located in Ft. Lauderdale. Wall to wall UK stuff in here including souvenirs. Prices are very attractive (their tea was cheaper than Amazon and you are supporting local at the same time) Found everything without a fuss and checked out even faster. Friendly service and a nice stock will have you coming back.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! The employees are friendly and it's so much better than ordering off of Amazon. I always end up buying more than I anticipated as I tend to get carried away while in the shop but it's always worth it. The only thing I wish was that it was closer to where I live as it's a bit of a trek from Kendal FL but the store is worth it. An absolute gem in all things UK.

Yelp
My mom and I were driving by on our way to Food Town and the sign, 'British Marketplace' caught both of our eyes. Then we saw the Farmer's Market and decided to make a U-Turn and stop in. We got a few goodies at the market and a few goodies here. This is a tiny little store (wish there were more goodies!) but it had a nice little selection. I think it would be cool to see more vegan items because I know there's so many vegan goodies in the UK that we don't get here in the states. The prices on some of the items are so reasonable (like $5 for the Bisto Granules, I was stoked to find that here!) but then the bagged potato chips were something that made them not worth the cost, I can't remember because I passed on them. The guy at the register explained that it's because they take up so much space in the shipping container, which makes total sense. I passed on the chips anyways. I also passed on the Vegetarian Haggis but I'm kicking myself in the butt for it so I'll definitely be back. I was also surprised to hear that the guy told me this is one of like 3 or 4 locations, being the furthest south. I think he mentioned one in Sunrise and one somewhere near commercial and federal so I'm going to have to investigate because those locations are definitely closer to me and maybe there is also more section. Overall, it's super cool to see this specialty shop. There are so many Asian and Hispanic grocery stores but you never really see something like this. Pretty darn cool!

Yelp
I haven't been to British Marketplace since it came under new ownership. The store is still well stocked with many items sought after by South Florida Anglophiles that can't be easily obtained without paying top dollar online. (But, to be fair, there are some seasonal items that can be found for a slightly lower price at local stores like Publix when they stock them during those times of the year they become popular.) Andrew, one of the new owners, was charming and helpful during this visit. Unfortunately, but understandably, the tea room is closed until further notice due to COVID. Overall, though, British Marketplace is still a great South Florida institution. (Sort of unrelated to my review, but I felt compelled to sign off with this compliment [and it is a compliment]. When I first walked in and saw Andrew sitting behind the counter, I thought I had entered the nearby Adventure Game Store/Dragon's Lair by mistake. Ah ... great memories of the shops at Stirling Place.)

Yelp
I'm english and I live near the store so it's great attraction is convenience for me. The guy who owns it is very friendly and while I may only go in once or twice a year, he remembers me and acts genuinely pleased to see me. It does have a great selection of food you miss from England. A must to visit at Christmas time. Mince pies, double or Devonshire cream and bacon is always a must for me. Wonderful selection of chocolates and crisps. It is pricey but hey most people go for special occasions. It's great

Yelp
Sandra was an absolute pleasure. I went in to the store after calling her regarding chocolates that a hotel guest needed. She gave me a tour of the store and to my surprise there is a really cute tea room in the back that I loved!! Great for baby showers, birthdays, special occasions, or just a lovely change of pace on a regular afternoon. Absolute must visit for any and all British novelty/food needs!! Thank you for the tour, Sandra. Keep up the great work.

Yelp
What an amazing change. British Marketplace has been in the area for 15+ years, but has only recently become my main British store. The shop is so clean, the inventory is always in date, and there are always new products to try out. The store has a number of crisp selections again, and the new energy in the store was much needed. I am so excited to get my Christmas goodies and enjoy a COVID Christmas with my family, because let's face it, food is one of the main joys this year! If you are in the area please be sure to stop in, they are open 7 days a week!!!

Yelp
What a great find. We bought twinnings tea and crumpets, clotted cream and strawberry jam that brought me straight back to London. Friendly owners, great selection and lots of English chocolates. Oh and I bought some beef pies. So delicious. We will be regular customers for sure.

Yelp
As a Brit living in the US for 10+ years this is the first time I can say that I felt fully at home in a store! They have absolutely everything you need! I'm hosting a British tea party and was able to find clotted cream, British jam, even scones!

Yelp
Whaaaaa? Where the heck did all this come from? So we stopped by Stirling Place, a strip mall and found a treasure trove of stuff! A farmers market, a bird store, a french bakery and a nice consignment store, but this little marketplace + tea room was the quirkiest and Yelp worthiest of all. This is a quaint little spot filled to the brim with teas, sweets, kettles and a whole bunch of great stuff. It's a little marketplace, with a nice secret Tea room in the back. We asked the fella that runs it and he says he rents it out for parties, special occasions, afternoon tea and high tea. We bought a nice box of delicious Masala tea and went on our way. We're definitely going to give it a try again to try the tea room, maybe for a birthday or a nice date with the lady. It's nice to know a place this different is around... in Hollywood....yeah.

Yelp
Just bought waaaaaaay too much chocolate here! They have a wide variety of treats to choose from and the owner is so nice and funny. I felt right at home shopping here and I would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
This place reminds me of my home away from home. Since I grew up in England, it feels great to have a location where I can purchase the sweets, drinks, teas and treats that I had back in Suffolk. Even though the store is small, you can tell that the owner filled up the place completely! The reason my friend and I decided to stop by here on the way back to my place is because I wanted to give my boyfriend a little taste of how Easter is done back in the UK. However since I didn't have the means to buy tons of the giant chocolate eggs that they had available, I chose the smaller ones as well as getting my favorite Heinz tomato beans so I can make beans on toast at home and share them with friends. I'll for sure be returning here regularly, not only for the lovely flashbacks of what I used to buy but to also have High Tea with some girlies whenever they're feeling in the mood. ;)

Tyra K.

Yelp
Great shop. They've redone the shop they have a freezer now and a large variety and the best part is that they're online! I wish they had mailed cold packs with the chocolate but luckily I found it pretty quickly and nothing melted.

Yelp
If you think about it, there really aren't many British restaurants or stores in South Florida, and for some reason, the few that are around, tend to be in Broward. I wonder why? While out and about in Fort Lauderdale, I decided to check out this one, since I was tasked by Nancy M. to find some English jams for Joy L's upcoming baby shower, themed "an English tea party." It's a diminutive store, located in a large strip mall, and the British flags in the parking lot will let you know you're at the right place, in case you're in any doubt. They had little trinkets such as a Beatles poster, English flags, Cadbury sweets, and other specialty items. The jams were easy to find, though at $8.00, not that inexpensive. There was a decent selection of jams, candies, and especially, teas to be found. Finding sugar cubes was another story, though. They didn't have them at all! Considering the English are known to put those in their tea, it was rather baffling to find out they didn't carry those. I was unaware of the tea room in the back, and think they should advertise it more (or at least ask every customer they see if they'd like to check it out). As a big tea drinker, I might have enjoyed that. I also am not sure where the pictures of the food platters came from, as I never saw any food items, other than a sampler of sweets that was being passed around on a tray. The lady at the register (owner perhaps?) was from Sheffield, and very friendly. It's a cute store, and worth checking out for authentic English shelf goods.

Yelp
This was our first time and we'll be back. It's a wonderful little shop full of treats. We left with some tea and chocolates. The man behind the counter was really nice and helpful. I'm always looking for decent teas. What a gem! I wish we had stopped in sooner.

Yelp
I am only rating the tea room for now, since I have not yet taken a look around the store. I have no idea about pricing, since I was an invited guest. If you have a small ladies gathering coming up (birthday, shower, just because...) you might want to check this place out. Very homey (in a good way), cozy place. Scones with jam and fresh cream were delish, as were the 3 types of finger sandwiches, all served on a cute 3-tier display on the center of the table. Next came a nice little dish of sliced strawberries and bananas, also with a dollop of cream. A small dessert plate finished off the tea party. Nothing special there, just some packaged cookies nicely arranged on a small plate, for the center of the table. Don't come here hungry...it's a tea party! This place is about the quaint ambiance; the unique setting scored it the fourth star. They had no wi-fi, but I was able to mooch off one of the adjacent stores.

Yelp
So yes some of the things they sell there may be difficult to find else where. But that's no reason for the people working there to follow you around without saying as much as hello. It's a small shop and I didn't visit the tea room. Why would I it looks like a door to the back of the store.

Michael G.

Yelp
The British Marketplace is a wonderful little store. Their authentic British food and merchandise can't be found anywhere else in the area. In fact, it's the only place to find my wife's favorite tea. The owner could not possibly be any nicer, he always greets you with a smile, and is always ready with a helpful recommendation. I've gone there the last couple years to do some Christmas shopping and was even offered warm brandy. I've sent my wife, mother & grandmother to have high tea in the tea room and they all loved it! This place is well worth the trip from anywhere in South Florida!
