Brixx & Barley

Pretty standard bar and grill type place with a lot of TVs all playing sports always. An expansive menu but food can be hit or miss. When in doubt, get one of their pizzas. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and order takeout from them as well. Service is also hit or miss. I’ve had great servers and servers that seem entirely checked out and almost as if you’re annoying them. Unfortunately my husband choked during our recent visit and the staff quite literally did not seem to care and were unfazed. I did my best and a friendly patron also came over to help administer the Heimlich.

10/16/25 I haven’t been back here in almost a year and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll be returning. We came in on a Thursday night. It was not very crowded. We ordered three separate appetizers one being the buffalo chicken quesadilla a pesto, mushroom ravioli, and the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls Out of all three of those the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls were the best and still not fantastic. We asked for a side of sour cream for the quesadilla and we’re charged $.50 for it may not seem like a lot but silly to be charged for a topping that would go with a quesadilla 11/10/2024 Georgett was our service she was super nice. Food was good! It was a football Sunday so good crowd. My only one suggestion / Complaint would be because it is so busy maybe have the bathroom cleaned a little more often. I went to use it twice within one hour and it was really terrible by the second time I used it. Just a suggestion.

Ordered something. Order was wrong when delivered. Called back, assured correct order would be delivered within 45 mins, same incorrect order was delivered over an hour later. Thankfully they said they would refund. Have not received refund yet and had to order from another restaurant to get what we actually wanted. Also the food we did receive "correctly" was not good. This is crazy cuz we've been in restaurant and ordered in many times with no problems. But this was just a terrible experience all around

All the food tasted really flavorful. Wings had no crunch factor since they are not fried. I am ok with that in this case since it had an amazing smoky flavor. Buffalo was a tad bit spicier than usual in my opinion, but very doable and top notch. Rice balls were on point. Not a big fan of thin pizza but this one tasted 9/10 . I recommend the burrata , vodka Prosciutto pizza. They are not large. Short ribs were extremely soft meat and not Over cooked at all. Lobster tortellini had huge chunks of lobster and cream was 10/10. Would return. Lighting was a bit funky with the spot lights. Great service , very friendly. Parking was easy on Sunday night. Free. No wait for a table.

If you remember having a burger at a place after 2 weeks of having it I guess it's really THAT good. Lol, in all honesty gracious service with very filling serving sizes. The artichoke pizza is not for light eaters, that's really heavy. Tacos menu has some interesting combinations - I tried one really liked it. If you love food and love the beach ⛱️ - I recommend the place. Recommeded: The classic burger 🍔, Bang bang shrimp tacos 🌮 and Artichoke & Spinach Pizza 🍕

We had the pleasure of being served by Sean during our recent visit. After sitting unattended for about 15 minutes, Sean noticed us—even though we weren’t in his section—and kindly came over to check if we’d been helped. From there, he completely turned our experience around. Out of the three times we've dined here, he was hands-down the best server we've had. Personable, attentive, and consistently on point. We'll absolutely be asking for him next time we return.

On point. This restaurant is doing it right. We came on a busy Friday, the place was full but the service and food was perfect. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and also patient. I had fish tacos and tater tots, both crispy and flavorful. The pretzels were huge and yummy. Mussels were tender and sweet. Brussel sprouts were sweet and spicy.. I was jealous of the burger. It looked amazing. Rice balls and calamari were crispy and fried perfectly. And the steak sandwich with its good choice of toppings was an amazing surprise..

Dined outdoor was quieter. Mussels were fantastic.. small servings but Monday nights fixed price for multiple servings! Noticed the young person clearing the tables was diligent and cleaned with a smile. Requested bread a couple of times. Apple cider was great!

Great food and atmosphere ! Service was fast. Good music but if you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it. Fun, lively sports bar !

Service really good . Server came Up like 40 times before we got ready to order . The food was on point , and all stuff was perfect .

Today I had lunch with a neighbor and her cute toddler. The staff were so chill about him running and walking around. It was rather sparse for lunch (bar was full though hahah) but we took a long time to figure out what to eat. The menu is so extensive and we finally put in our orders. I ended up with this chicken burrata skillet and it was just so filling. The pepperoni pizza slice was full of pepperoni and the classic burger looked amazing too. I feel another visit is needed to try their two smash burgers. All in all, it was both a family friendly spot with spacious seating and super friendly and amazing staff. Sorry I only got a picture of the pasta!

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and I thought they'd be busier but no problem getting a table for four. We ordered a margarita pizza to start which was pretty good and then daughter got a pancake taco breakfast thing which she liked but didn't love. Friends got a Philly cheesesteak and banana pancakes with bacon. They seemed to enjoy it. I got pancakes which were good but nothing to write home about BUT I got the Nutella beignets to go and oh my word!!! Those are dangerous, delicious!! Overall a nice sports bar vibe, good food and service I would 100% return.

Just got back from a great lunch here. It's nice to visit Long Beach in the fall. Great menu with so many choices. I didn't try the pizza but there are many choices. The waitress ( Sterling ) was so nice. We tried the meatball for an app ( delish) I had the chicken BLT wrap with a Caesar salad and my friend had the steak wrap. Really good!! Great portion ( had to take half home ) it's a cool vibe and will go back to sit at the bar.

We were back in Long Beach so after our bike ride we had to come back for the pizza! Nice and quiet when we stopped in after the lunch hours but well before dinner would start up. This is def a stop when we return to Lpng Beach!

Service 10 Food 10 Atmosphere 8 Noise 3 Happy 12 This is a great place to have out-of-this world pizza, drinks, wings, burgers, and an assortment of daily specials! We shared a cauliflower pizza with sausage, mushrooms, spinach, and extra cheese. Thin, crispy, great, but soggy towards the very end of it. I'd order it again tonight if I wasn't so full. The ladies ate the wings and raved about them. I can't contribute to that part of the review. They were silent while eating them. Nuf said? We also shared squid ink linguine in a homemade arabiata sauce with cajun butterfly shrimp. The dish was quite delicious, perhaps a little less spicy than I hoped for, but it was a large serving, well made, and served three of us. The sauce was quite memorable, in a good way. We closed with a crepe cake. Nice presentation, but the flavor was flat. It looks good, and it was tasty, but never did it make me go "wow" and that means, if you set your sights lower, you'll enjoy more than we did.

Ordered takeout and got a bunch to test out the menu. Ordered two pizzas; the broccoli rabe salsicca and the traditional Detroit style. Both were extremely bland and did not taste wood fired at all. The sausage itself was the only thing I wanted to eat off the pizza. The chicken burratta skillet meal tasted like something you get at a buffet at a hotel. As soon as I opened it i knew. Sauce and pasta were flavorless and the chicken cutlet was so unimpressive. It was not dry so that was a plus. The winner of the whole order was the honey glazed Brussels sprouts. That is the reason for the three stars and not the two. I have lived here five years and avoided ordering because of the mediocre reviews and I have to say my order was exactly that.

One of my favorite spots in Long Beach. Their brunch, lunch/dinner & drinks are great as well! Staff is always nice and super approachable.

After a fun beach day with friends, we decided to hit up a local spot they recommended for dinner. It's your classic sports bar, so it was pretty loud, but I didn't mind it. They also have outdoor seating as well. We walked in without a reservation and got seated right away, but I'd suggest making one as it got really busy later in the evening! To drink, I went with an Aperol Spritz, which was spot on and was made perfectly. We shared the boneless wings in kickin' bourbon flavor, and they were absolutely delicious! The Bavarian pretzel was another hit--perfectly buttery with a really good cheese sauce on the side. For my entree, I went with the chicken burrata skillet, and wowww! It came out piping hot, which was great because lukewarm food is such a letdown. The portions were huge, and it was so good that even the leftovers were amazing the next day. The flavors were a solid 10/10, and the breaded chicken cutlet was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a great way to end a beach day--good food, good drinks, and good vibes!

What a great place!!! They have All kinds of options including gluten free, vegan, or whatever you like. The atmosphere is great for watching the game, listening to a live band or just grabbing dinner with the family. And the service was awesome!!!

My friend and I wanted to watch the NFL games last Sunday so we tried Brix and Barley. Even though it was crowded we were promptly seated. Our server was great (glasses and a leg tattoo) and checked back with us many times. Good draft beer selection with 60 Minute Dogfish and Space Dust! The brussel sprouts and calamari were both good. Lots of TV screens so there's really not a bad seat in the house. The best sports bar in the area that I've seen!

So it was so good yesterday I came back again the next day. Alyssa, my bartender was AMAZING. The coconut concoction pictured was her mastery. So tasty. She also had a hand in some of the new items on the menu. Alyssa is a national treasure..... protect this woman!!

Headline here is amazing food and service at a great value, child friendly ambience while still suitable for adult events. The service was a tad bit slower than I expected, but considering the stellar food and the actual quality of the service itself, I really can't be annoyed by this caveat for it to impact my score of the restaurant. The portions were sizable, enough so that my girlfriend and I had left overs. We got the bacon slabs, French toast burger, and carnitas waffle, an espresso, as well as two complimentary drinks (we'd come for the brunch menu, but since we were very close to the cutoff, we couldn't do bottomless; the waiter apologized for the policy and offered each of us a complementary brunch cocktail to make up for this). This all came out to about $51, not including the tip. Ample parking, perfect brunch spot for a day at the beach in Long Beach NYC. I'll be visiting again for sure!

Excellent menu! Great chicken wings, especially boneless bbq. Friendly service and entertaining live guitarist who played oldies but goodies on a recent Sunday summer evening. Many sports screens on and outdoor seating, too. Fair prices. Great pub food and salads.

The food was great, the service could have been better. We were a large party and came in for the brunch menu which did not match the one on their website so that was disappointing since I came for a specific item they did not end up having. We ordered a few appetizers and then our meals and by the item it was 10 minutes after the brunch menu closed and we could no longer get a few of our meals which i found absurd because how hard is it to make eggs. If the waiter would have come back sooner or gave us a warning. I always find that when you are a large party and the tip is added in already the waiter is far less attentive as was the case here because it took forever to get the check as well. The pizzas are delicious as were the wings and egg roll appetizers. I would probably just do take out next time and have a more enjoyable meal at home.

The restaurant was bustling, but we could get seated without reservation. The server was super friendly and helpful! We got lobster Mac and cheese , which was delicious and with generous amount of lobster. Calamaries and everything else was amazing ! Special drinks are super delicious.

Dillon, here's what you need to educate yourself with. IF SEAFOOD SMELLS FISHY. IT IS SPOILED! I got sick eating here and will NEVER EVER go back. So everyone, you order seafood and it smells fishy. Send it back and request a refund. Then immediately LEAVE! Read up Dillon and educate yourself so you don't vomit and get the runs from this poorly run establishment. Clearly being busy screws up their service drastically and then again..seeing this establishment from LIRR and not busy. Not a shocker.

Last night my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Brixx & Barley for the first time and we had a great experience. At first I wasn't too sure because it took a minute for us to be acknowledged and seated but the manager noticed and came over himself and sat us down. From there, our waiter Malissa (I believe) was sooooo energetic, engaging and helpful. She gave us great recommendations and the food was amazing. We got the large pretzel, meatballs sliders, calamari and a chicken roll. The portions were huge so of course we had multiple to-go containers. They even gave a sample of this great fried cheese cake to die for. Ultimately, it's a gooooo...... plus they had live music too on a Sunday night.

My husband and I always have a great time. We are always kindly greeted and seated immediately. The food is consistently good and the staff are well trained and very attentive. This is our go to spot when we don't know what to do for dinner.

We had an amazing dinner, drinks and dessert at Brixx & Barley on Saturday night. We made a reservation for 7 pm which we found out is a good time since it's past the dinner rush of people coming off the beach in the summer. We were told 3-5 pm can get crazy! We absolutely loved our charismatic and fun server named Sterling! She was so knowledgeable and friendly; instantly put us at ease at a new restaurant with out 5 year old daughter and friends with us. Drinks were delicious; highly recommend the strawberry mint margarita! Delicious appetizers like the avocado fries, Philly steak egg rolls and wings! We ordered the American burgers, fish tacos and a tomato salmon dish and all were very well presented and yummy! My husband about fell out of his chair with his dessert of a peach cobbler sort of thing; peaches and ice cream I think! He loved it! We will be back and highly recommended!! Thank you Sterling!!!! This momma had a wonderful night out!

A complete disaster!! We were a table of eight ordering dinner, drinks and a couple of appetizers. Our order was placed within 15 minutes. Two simple appetizers did not reach the table for an hour, and then it took another hour and a half before entrées arrived - - 2 at a time so no one actually ate together. The staff was amateurish and disorganized. I had some concerns in going there because of the health violations from 2019, but I thought enough time had passed. I was wrong and I will never make the same mistake. Spend your money elsewhere. There are too many quality places in Long Beach then to waste your money at Brixx & Barley.

I thought their philly cheese steak was delicious so I decided to order from them again. Unfortunately I ordered the buffalo chicken Mac n cheese. This little bowl was $18, the chicken tasted like it came out of a can like it was sitting in water with zero buffalo flavor. The dish smelled like cat food.

Last time I came to Brixx it was for brunch. Food was great, service was a little lacking that day. The manager CALLED me to apologize. Anyway, my husband and I came back for dinner. RUN, don't walk, for their Detroit-style pizza. We've been fans of Detroit pizza for a while now and have been traveling to a spot in Brooklyn for it. Welp, Brixx just ruined our Brooklyn spot for us. Game changer. It is SO good. We also had the brussel sprouts which are the size of tennis balls, wings (love that they're grilled), and onion rings. All excellent. Big fan of this spot. Good drinks too. Service was very good this time around.

Every time I go this place never misses. Food quality is nothing short of amazing. They even offer weekday specials and promotions on food and drinks depending on the day of the week. Great for friends like, family.

Tamara was an outstanding hostess that provided excellent service and a special pizza order of Spinach artichoke that was exquisite. Amazed at the food quality, fair pricing and wonderful service by Tamara!!

Great experience for the knicks play off games, vibes were high and the whole restaurant was involved. Our waiter Sean was on point and hustled through the crowd, very attentive and welcoming.

We came here for a nice dinner. Atmosphere was a little dark we didn't have much lighting in our section but the music was a vibe. Server was prompt and polite made sure we were accommodated the whole time. We got the avocado fries as a starter and they were good just a little lacking on seasonings. I got the burrata burger as my meal the burger was juicy and pretty flavorful. my gf got a grilled chicken avocado sandwich she said it was light and flavorful. The bacon was crispy and a good amount they weren't stingy about the portions we were well fed and full after. Got a box for left overs. Price was fair for what you get. Overall a solid meal no real complaints would recommend to anyone looking for a classic bar n grill vibe in Long Beach.

We've been coming here since the opening . Used to be great bar food but the worst now is the loudness . Either people come in already drunk or they come in droves to drink and yell. Between that and the music and the horrible acoustics, our family cannot eat there in peace . Granted it's a bar type atmosphere, but it's also a restaurant. We cannot hear each other talk anymore . Something needs to be done . The quality of food has decreased as well. Sad . We used to like it here but our family will not come back . It's like walking into a loud club and it's very very annoying .

Delicious food, huge menu and large portions. Great cocktails, too ( salted caramel martini is the best! ) Our waitress, Sterling was attentive and pleasant.

Great restaurant. Very accommodating. And great food. Their bathroom on the right needs to be changed to a flushable toilet.

Came here and it was great. No complaints on anything. Well decorated casual spot and all the food was great. We got a pepperoni pizza, honey bbq wings, braised beef short rib tacos, buffalo chicken mac n cheese, and a grilled cheese burger. Tater tots were also good. The favorites were the pizza, the mac n cheese, and the burger but everything was great!

First time here. They open at 11am and by 11:05 the place was packed. (On Sunday) The menu is awesome. Some very unusual dishes. My mom got pancakes which were soft and fluffy! Son in law got a grilled cheese cheeseburger - a burger in between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches - whoa!! My daughter got a cob salad which was the bomb. Wings were amazing and there's a million different ways to have them I got pancake tacos. Eggs , thick slab of bacon and cheese inside 2 fluffy pancakes. Everything was delicious Coffee was not hot. Bathrooms were a bit yucky I'd still go back. So many amazing choices on the menu

Great location right near the boardwalk and other bars and local shops. When I first got there it was very crowded as it was 6:30 on a Friday. They sat us almost immediately though which was great. However, there was live music that started to play and it was so loud that I really couldn't have a normal conversation without feeling like I had to scream everything. The food was okay. I got an avocado grilled chicken BLT on a whole wheat wrap. It could've maybe used some seasoning. Also my fries had a random piece of pasta in it which made me a little skeptical of the cleanliness of the kitchen. The fries were very good though. The food was served quickly and there was a lot of options on the menu. Overall I still had a decent time. Probably wouldn't return though.

Where do I begin.... Staff? The best! Friendly, knowledgable of food/drink menus & provides great service. Food? Great! Table seating? The hostess always finds something awesome for us. Hands down, the best! Highly recommend!

The food is really good for a bar and the wings are great. They're not fried. It's got a loud sports bar vibe. We had a great time and left full.

My absolute favorite place!!! Cannot say enough great things about Brixx & Barley. This place has become my go-to since moving to Long Beach. There really is something for everyone. Two of my favs are the Burrata Burger and the Chicken Burrata Skillet (clearly I like burrata lol). They are soooo good! I also love getting a pretzel as an app which is always so warm and soft. If you're in the mood for a margarita and have a group of 2-4, I highly recommend the Megarita. As you can see from the pics, it's huge and also actually delicious. All of their items are reasonably priced which is why I come so often. I've always had great service here, but last time I had the best server. I'd give him a shout out but I don't recall his name :( When I completely forgot to ask to substitute my bun for a pretzel bun on my burger several minutes after ordering, he ran to the back to make it happen even though I can only assume the order was about to be finished. We also forgot our leftovers on the table when leaving and he ran out of the restaurant to make sure we got them. Amazing service every time! Besides the food, B&B is also such a cool and fun spot! They have a great bar and large tvs all around the restaurant. I've come here for live music and games and it's always been such a great vibe. I'm excited for football season to come back and also want to check out a UFC fight here soon with some drinks at the bar because there is no cover for the fights! Love it here!

Maybe it's the oven they use. Their pizza is really good. Better priced then the competition, as well!

Service was excellent but food was pretty bad. The pizza had no taste and even though I was charged for extra spinach there was about one spinach leaf per slice. The burger was very greasy and the fries were mostly the crumbs of a batch.

The food was great. Truly delicious. But the bill literally didn't add up. When I got the check I thought something was off. So, I added up the individual items and it came up to 73, and we were charged 75. I redid it a couple of times thinking I might have made a mistake, but nope. I was right. I flagged the waitress and she was very kind. Asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. Had to catch a train so couldn't wait around, so I asked her to let the manager and owner know, and just paid the bill. With that said, if this is happening to every customer, that's so not cool!

Very Noisy, food and drinks were ok but not enough to return as the noise level was a distraction.

The boneless wings were incredibly overcooked and dry on the inside to the point where I only ate two, but more than not enjoying their food the place smelled like a bathroom/dirty rag. From the entrance to being seated there was an unpleasant smell. My friends did enjoy their pizza but idk if it worth it to return for that.

Lobster Mac and cheese is out of this world. It also has a nice Smokey taste to it. Atmospheres always fun. Great place to go after volleyball.

UPDATE This is a follow up to an issue I had with Brixx & Barley. After my issue the GM Henry Velasquez reached out to me about my issue on the order I made. He offered me a replacement order free. Finally everyone that was there for the first debacle was around this past weekend and not only did Henry give us a brand new order free He added a gluten free personal Pizza for a friend of mine. Jamie (manager) delivered it herself and I'm going to be 100% honest it was a HOME RUN. Pizza cooked perfectly from the crusts to the toppings. OUTSTANDING. Not only did she deliver this delicious meal they even gave me a gift certificate for my troubles. They def will get my business again and I will def recommend them. To Henry and Everyone down brixxandbarley thank you.

Finding a place that takes allergies seriously is a royal pain in the ass, and when someone very close to you has the allergy, it turns up the heat even more. My son has a dairy intolerance that acts like an allergy and prevent him from having even the slightest bit of dairy without severe consequences. This makes it near impossible to eat out without chancing accidental cross contamination, even if we're lucky to find a place that can accommodate him. Enter Brixx and Barley, who has a dedicated vegan menu to avoid the issue entirely. This is a godsend every time we head to Long Beach. Service is very friendly and efficient to the point of absurdity. My last visit the food took all of 15min to come. That's the beauty of eating at a large sports bar which is used to high volume when they aren't packed I guess. Drinks are also really good as they have a big, interesting menu. Their beer list is solid, however I really like their Resse's old fashioned (uses peanut butter whiskey, don't knock until you try it). My wife loves their sangria. Each time my wife and son got the vegan primavera and the 100% vegan pizza. Them being able to share is worth no having any meat on the plate. My son loves the food anyway as does my wife. Each time I got the LB steak sandwich 2.0 (filet, fried artichoke, Gruyère, arugula, garlic aioli, on a hero with fries). This is a pretty stellar combo, although I wish they had an option to double the steak. It's still a decent portion and very filling. Fries are great too. Great bar and place to eat overall. This is my go-to in town!
