"This lesser-known Malibu beach has similarly gorgeous rock formations to the ones you’d find at El Matador, but is far less crowded—so much less crowded it could practically be considered private. The tide pooling is fantastic here, but the beach is still sandy if you want to spread out. You can find access via the cul-de-sac at Bunnie Lane, where you’ll enter through a tree-covered corridor and a few flights of stairs." - Maxwell Williams, Krista Simmons

Yelp
Very special road trip with my senior dog. When we got there nobody else was around. I let her off leash and she had the best time of her old lady life. She just walked slowly n smelled the sea air..... very special place. Very out of the way. But it's a must see.

Yelp
Love this beach. Just be respectful of the residents that live there. There's an access gate about halfway in, park parallel. Saw people with dogs but haven't checked the law/rules. Sand feels amazing, water is pretty clear and clean. Sheriffs patrol & life guard boat patrolling. Very surf to sand, I love chilling right next to the shore

Yelp
If you're planning to go to Broad Beach for a late walk, make sure to check what the tide looks like before you leave. Long story short, don't even bother going if it is high tide as you won't even be able to access the sand. Everything is pretty much covered in water at high tide, including the stairs! Aside from that Broad Beach is always a great spot for a walk. It's never too packed, it is clean and parking on Broad Beach Road is free and easy.

Yelp
Used to be nice but now it's overcrowded. I got a ticket for drinking a beer. Then I got a ticket for parking on the road! Was a very expensive day. Better to just go to Zuma.

Yelp
I am so glad to have found this quiet little beach. This is a hidden gem, very quiet and peaceful. The access path lies between the houses and is easy to miss. I walked past it twice and missed it. This will be my go-to spot in Malibu going forward.

Yelp
This secluded beach is a hidden gem and one of Malibu's most gorgeous beaches. The beach is isolated, rarely crowded and is fairly big. There are several places with shallow waters in-between the sea cliffs, which makes it a great place to bring the family. Gone here for swimming, crab fishing, sun-bathing, and hanging out for the day. Neighboring Lechuza Beach is a great alternative when the water levels are too high at Broad Beach

Yelp
During the summer, people pack in Zuma beach like sardines. Chumps. If you're in the know, you're not going to tourist traps like Zuma (or Paradise Cove, Surfrider, Topanga) during the busy season. There are lots of bu beach options unknown to most Angelinos, but Broad beach is close to the top of my list. Just north of Zuma, is a private stretch of beach where you can avoid the madness - with some of the most expensive real estate in Malibu at your back. Park on Broadbeach Road and look for the beach access pathways. Or you can literally walk a few hundreds yards north of the furthest point of Zuma.

Yelp
It's a nice beach and it's far less crowded than the notorious Zuma right down the road. One problem - I don't know if this is still going on, but I've been run out of here by overzealous private security douchebags on ATV's, hired by the residents of Broad Beach to hassle anyone that doesn't live there. They incurred the wrath of the state for this when they tried to force some bigwig at the CCC to get lost one day. It was in the Times back then (2003/4?). But still, bullshit Geffen antics aside, this is a great beach.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to go in all of Los Angeles and that's Broad beach in Malibu. It's quiet, there's not many people and it is a public beach despite what other sites might tell you and as long as you respect The homeowners they cannot chase you off or have anybody tell you have to leave because it's a public beach just in a very wealthy area. So as long as you're not being a jerk or an ass you shouldn't have any problem it's the beach and gorgeous view you will fall in love with. Highly recommend it!!

Yelp
It is a beautiful and peaceful beach. there are not many people and is very good spot for a quiet time. the negative thing that i can say about this place is that sometimes the water is to high and there is no place to sit. other than that if you do not like crowded this place is for you just watch out the waves not to get wet :D

Yelp
I've been here a few times with some friends and although it's a nice little private beach there are a few things I do not like. There's a lot of dog poop on the beach and owners tend to let their dogs off the leash even though there is a sign saying dogs must be leashed. The last time I went here I saw a dog attack another dog that was leashed and the attacking dog was being aggressive enough to cause a scene. I have also noticed that there is a lot of seaweed and trash strung about the beach. 2/10 would not recommend.

Max W.

Yelp
Contrary to Erin M.'s review, Broad Beach does NOT allow dogs. It's posted very clearly on all the public coastal access passageways (on an obnoxiously sized sign to boot). Maybe they are lax about enforcing it, but I didn't want to chance it. If you want to take your dog to the beach in Malibu you can head to Leo Carillo state park. Check my review of that beach!

Yelp
I'm down with this beach. surf is just okay, but for all those people crowding Zuma, this is the place. It's a bit of a hike down, but worth it. Make sure you pay for parking in those little envelops they provide because the tickets are stiff. They will ticket BTW!
