The Best Breweries in Grand Rapids | Eater Detroit

"Pickleball enthusiasts can enjoy a meal and a crispy brew after a match at this Kentwood brewery. The pickleball courts were added to the space in what was formerly a giant cooler for the warehouse. Beers range from a pleasantly bitter and dry pilsner, fruited sours, and hazy IPAs to an ube and dragonfruit rice lager." - Courtney Burk

Broad Leaf Brewery was a great stop! First time coming here! Great staff and great beer! We didn’t get a chance to have food but the menu looks amazing! Next time for sure!! Always looks like the perfect place to have some drinks and food and play some pickle ball with friends!! They have the best art, games & stage for live music! Fun place for sure!!!

Google
Very fun spot! They also have pickleball here and I did not expect that. I think the atmosphere is awesome - ability to drink and play pickleball is great - and the drink prices were reasonable. Food was also reasonable in price, except the katsu sando which was way overpriced imo. Will definitely be back for the pickleball - it’s a great spot for it!

Google
Happy find! We drove past this on our way to 28th Street to shop and stopped in on our way home. The retro arcade was an unexpected surprise as well as the artwork on display. Staff were very friendly, and selections on tap had something everyone. Food came out fast and was great tasting. Overall, it is a good value, welcoming atmosphere, and a satisfying experience.

This past weekend was the second visit to Broad Leaf for my wife and I. The reason I am giving 4-Stars is because the first experience a couple weeks ago was not very good. We stopped in to grab a drink and some food before a movie. They were pretty busy so We sat at the bar and were greeted and served drinks real fast. The bartender said he was going to come back to grab our food order once we had a chance to look at the menu. He did not come back for 20+ mins and at that point we needed to leave to get to our movie and still grab some quick food. Fast forward to this visit, completely different experience. They weren’t very busy, but we sat ourselves and ordered some drinks from the bar. We also started with the Fried Rice Balls, which, phenomenal! Super wicked flavor! Give them a try! For meals my wife chose the Joe Mein with Chicken and I went with the Veggie Fried Rice with Chicken. Both had awesome flavor and large portions. I was very impressed with the food. We usually enjoy a smaller menu like Broad Leaf offers. It makes the meal choice easier and food is usually perfected! Definitely give them a try!

Google
Great beer options as always. I had a beer called Weird Bubbles and really enjoyed it. The new menu with more vegan options was fantastic. I loved the tofu bowl, my leftovers the next day were even more flavorful! And the crispy broccoli appetizer was super tasty.

Google
We just stumbled on Broad Leaf Brewery between soccer games and we were pleasantly surprised. Drinks were reasonable and we stopped back to eat with some friends. Menu is a little limited but tasted good. You order at the bar and it was easy and the staff was friendly. Atmosphere is laid back and they have some arcade games, pinball machines, and games you can play at your table. You can also do indoor pickle ball and kickpin.

This place is so cool! It was near the airport so we stopped to get a drink before our flight. I loved how it has so many different activities going on - pickleball, arcade games, and a book club. They had a great selection of varied beers with a focus on barrel-aged beers. We tried the InegraTron which was a Hoppy California Common Lager. I also had their ube cocktail which I was surprised to find in Michigan! The food is Asian-inspired and sounded delicious, but we didn't have time to try it before our flight. I can't wait to come back the next time we're visiting! Service was really friendly too.

Google
Welcoming place with interesting food options (drunken noodles are not common at breweries). The staff was attentive and informative. They have a video and pinball area as well as a stage for shows. The porter I had was decent but not great. I also had the cream ale which was very smooth and tasty. Just had the fries with dipping sauce as a snack and they were tasty. They don't have a ton of beer options but they do serve cocktails with their own distilled spirits. The only real negative in my opinion is the place is quite noisy due to the high ceilings.

Yelp
We had a great time here at an event. Sadly they ran out of food but we did get the leftovers of fries and salad (both A+). Also got the jerk chicken sandwich which isn't remotely jerk in my opinion-- more of a marinated herbal something- but which was a great sandwich! We enjoyed a fruity sour that was neither too sour nor too sweet nor too malty, an excellent Czech-style Pilsner, and a sweet-but-bitter red draft cocktail that, I'm sorry to say, was kind of vile. I will forgive this given the rest of the experience being A-grade.

Yelp
I just want to say that I loved the atmosphere and vibe of this place. I would give it 5 stars for the beer, cocktails and fun. But it's the food that was just a miss for me. In fact, I will say that I am not a fan of their food at all. We tried 3 things. Curry Fried Rice Balls, Pork Belly Fried Rice Bowl, and Korean Beef (sandwich) with fries. Curry balls had decent flavor but came out warm on the outside and cold on the inside. Pork Belly bowl was just not good. Pork was okay but rice was bland and it was 90% rice in the bowl with very little else. I did not taste the kimchi in the rice at all. Lastly, Korean beef was okay but definitely did not taste anything like Bulgogi. Despite the disappointing food, I did not want to give the place a bad review. I think the beer is great. And the cocktails were fun. And next time, I will definitely reserve a pickleball court. Even the little arcade was fun. Overall, we had a fun date night even if food was just meh. Next time, we will eat somewhere else but definitely come here for adult beverages and pickleball. Posted some pics of the food ... points for presentation.

Yelp
Fun local brewery, now with pickleball courts! They also have an arcade area and board games available. Located in a great location for those staying in one of the nearby hotels and looking for something to do within walkable distance. Staff is friendly and beer is cold. Cool live edge wood bar. We had a couple of very good pilsners. We tried the curried rice ball app and it was very good! Order came up fast. Items I've tried tried a few items on the menu during past visits but didn't care for them... The menu could be refined a bit. Order and pay for food and drink at the bar. There are picnic tables outside and dog doo bags available. REALLY inclusive! (Thank you). We will be back

Yelp
We came here with a big group after work and had such a great time. The vibe was super cool in each area, the bar, different dinning options and game areas. Food and drinks were great all around as we tried so many items. Loved the sliders! Only gave 4 stars as we brought our dog but the outside patio area wasn't really conducive, we did check prior to coming the policy.

Yelp
I've decided that Broad Leaf is my favorite brewery in the Grand Rapids area. It's definitely the most unique and cool of the ones I've visited. The vibe is industrial, artsy, and eclectic and the food menu is Asian inspired and so tasty. The space is huge and great for groups. They have shipping container seating which is really fun, and they just opened their indoor pickleball court as well as kick pin, which is a bowling game with soccer balls. They even have an arcade as well as board games you can play while there. It's pretty kid-friendly and their patio is dog-friendly too. Another fun feature at Broad Leaf is their community board where you can purchase a drink for a future visitor. Be sure to check out the list behind the bar! (It can be a specific person, or it could be more general like "a GRCC student in the brewing program.") I also liked the "beer ball" (skee ball) game - if you get a high score you could win a prize. Order food and drinks at the bar and they'll bring things out to your table. The employees I've encountered are all super friendly and helpful. The menu has some vegetarian and vegan options, but not a ton for our keto friends. We tried the Korean broccoli on our most recent visit, which was crispy and slightly sweet and so delicious. I also love their fries and their housemade sauce options. The menu changes pretty frequently. They host lots of fun events like trivia, karaoke, vinyl night, book club, and different themed food events. It's just a really fun, cool spot that I always enjoy checking out. It's definitely worth a short drive from downtown!

Yelp
Recently came back to Broad Leaf to check out their new pickleball courts! This place has changed quite a bit since the last time I posted a review. They have a cool arcade section + a ton more seating. They also have 2 pickleball courts and a kickpin lane. My friends and I booked a court online a couple days in advance. It's $30 per hour and you have to sign up for a free member account online before doing so. We came in and had dinner before our court reservation. We arrived at 630, ordered by 645, and had our meal around 7ish. The snow Katsu sandwich was really good! I loved how crispy the chicken was. The fries were also tasty. Our reservation for the court was at 8 and we felt we had enough time to eat and sit for a little before going to play! We brought our own gear but I believe they have paddles you can rent for a small fee and they also have a box of indoor pickleballs. I will say that it was kinda confusing when it was time for our reservation. It doesn't seem like there is anyone to really check in with or confirm details with and there was another group on our court who we had to ask to move.

Yelp
Came here for the cocktails/drinks and they did not disappoint. Got a little hungry so ended up getting some bowls and was pleasantly surprised. I would absolutely come back here for the seating set up. Nice big tables for large crowds with great music and board games to play while hanging or waiting for your food.

Yelp
During my trip to Grand Rapids, I was told that Broad Leaf has a new location on Bridge St. but I need to checkout the original Kentwood location first if I have never been. So...to Broad Leaf I went! Here's my take on the experience: Quality of beer and food: great. They had over 15 beers on draft in every spectrum of style from Porter to sour to Kolsch to IPAs. I really enjoyed their Chromatic Shatter which is a Juicy Pale Ale. For food I tried their Togarashi Fries which were fries topped with toasted sesame, orange peel, nori, and chili flakes. They were nice and spicy and came with a few unique sauces to dip them in. Next, I tried their Buldak Chicken Carbo noodles that came with chicken, peas, onions, bacon, soba noodles, and Buldak sauce. It was good but not even close to the heat level of the very famous Samyang Korean Buldak noodles that you can find in Asian grocery stores. Thankfully....the staff happily brought more Buldak sauce which make my taste buds very happy. Décor: pretty cool. I love their skull logo with a leaf cutout for the nose. The whole place looks very bright and inviting. Since it was a Tuesday, they had trivia going on which was fully playable over a smartphone. There were also a few arcade machines in the back if you wanted to escape for a little bit. Cleanliness: good. The tables were being kept clean. Service: good. The folks behind the bar were very friendly and inviting. Price: good for beer but kinda pricey for food. My bowl of Buldak noodles was $18 which is more expensive than most Japanese Ramen places. The noodles should have been more like $12 since it's kind of a small-ish bowl for 1 person and didn't have a whole lot of ingredients. If you're in the mood for some delicious beer and food with a fun vibe then checkout Broad Leaf on 28th St.

Yelp
As soon as I landed I landed in MI, I knew I had to find me a beer. Hello, broad leaf brewery & spirits. Entirely impressed with all they offered; I opted for the Frootopia Sours flight and wasn't disappointed. Strawberry shortcake, cherry vanilla cream soda, raspberry coconut and blood orange honey lemon sours-- yes, please. Finished my stay with the Green Mile boozy lemonade-- lychee, kiwi, pear and lime with the boozy lemonade just smack your tastebuds right in the kisser. Very cool atmosphere. Did not have an appetite but all the food they brought out looked fantastic.

Yelp
This is a gem of a place to go. Entertainment for the whole family. The food is really great and very quick service. The music is a little loud, so it's hard to hear people around you without yelling, but overall a very great place to eat.

Yelp
Came to Broad Leaf for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! You wouldn't necessarily think of finding delicious Asian flavors from first glance at the name, but the menu is full of it! My review is for the food - don't ask me anything about the alcohol since I had a root beer and my husband is not a beer connoisseur. He tried the Chicken Katsu sandwich - described as "Good- but a little hot." We really wanted to try the Togarashi fries so we opted to sub the S&P fries for them, but now see why it's recommended to just get the plain fries with the already spicy chicken because WOW our mouths were on fire! Will remember this for next time. I tried the fried curry rice balls - reminded me of Italian arancini! I wish the curry flavor was stronger since I couldn't really taste the green curry, but overall it was still delicious and the sauce it came in as well as the citrusy non mayonnaise slaw was so tasty. Also has spiciness to it! Lastly I wanted protein, so I got a side of the roasted pork and the flavors transported me to home Chinese cooking. So good!! The ambiance of the place is really interesting - rock band hits were playing overhead, there's a stage for live music, very warehouse/industrial/shipping container decor, artwork displayed. Plenty of spaced out seating, family friendly (saw numerous kids and babies in addition to our baby!) lots of room to maneuver strollers. We will definitely be back and likely will ask for slightly less spice on our food next time!

Yelp
Great place!!! Trendy and hipster, I suppose,l (that's what they say) but it's a FANTASTIC place for ALL!!! Burger was awesome, fresh handcut fries. Service AMAZING . Very well priced for fresh food and delicious beer HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
google avatar

Tiffany G.

Yelp
First timers, and the food here was excellent! It was a little busy when we went, but it was fun to see the pickleball players. I was very happy with the non alcoholic drink options. I tried a mocktail with lime soda and lemon juice and it was great. The staff went above and beyond to get our orders out to us accurately & promptly. Will go again

Yelp
Love this place! We like to hang out here in sundays, it's always pretty chill. Plenty of seating and cool decorations/art. Staff is super friendly. We love the signature drinks and specialty food items they offer. We come for the drinks/food but stay for the pinball! Please keep Mandalorian and Guardian pins foreverrrrr
google avatar

Rod W.

Yelp
Food and beer here is awesome. Try the Buldak Chicken Carbo if you love it spicy. My son really likes the Delux burger and fries. Garlic fries are also good. Plenty of sauces to go with.
google avatar

Hillary B.

Yelp
Beer was good, not our top favorite but still good and lots of options. Also tried a cocktail that was delicious, it was a twist on French75! Food was also very good. Watch out for spice, hot is HOT. We went as a family to give our kiddo time to play the arcade games on a visit to GR when the weather was not so good. Would visit again for sure!

Yelp
I had heard about this spot for awhile now, but it's not close to my house so I hadn't ventured out there yet. Fortunately my husband and I decided to check them out after running errands out on 28th Street. I suspect now we'll plan to stop here pretty much any time we're out that way! It's a much larger space that I anticipated. I really like how open it is with the high ceilings and the shipping container vibe. There is a mix of bar seating, high tops, low tops, and bench seating. There is also a small section by the entrance with a few arcade games that looks fun. I like that they have a decent merch selection (yay, Tag A Brew!), and coolers of beers to go. It was also nice that all of their doors have the attachment towards the bottom so you can open the door with your foot instead of having to touch the handles, in case you're avoiding germs. So far I've visited twice. The beers I've tried have been tasty, and the food has been pretty good too! The first time in my husband had Korean BBQ tacos and I had a green chili burger. It was good, but I remembered sofrito is not for me. My husband liked his tacos though! The second time I had the walking taco, and I would definitely order it again. The pork was cooked well, without really any burnt pieces or super fatty pieces. I look forward to my next visit to explore more of the menu! The only issue we really had was the beer selection for my husband. There weren't any stouts on tap when we were there so not really many options for him. He got a flight to try a few and there was a red that he was ok with. It looks like there is a stout on the menu now though, so hopefully I can get him back out there!

Yelp
Broad Leaf Brewery is the perfect happy hour, trivia, or evening spot. Their food is great, they have awesome beers and craft cocktails, and the atmosphere is casual and funky. I recommend this spot to anyone visiting town and looking for something that will please. Great service every time as the bartenders are always great at suggesting and matching your needs.

Yelp
From the makers of Brewery Vivant comes Broad Leaf Brewery just off 28th Street SE, a brewery desert until now. The building itself is spacious with plenty of seats outside under a tin roof and out in the open. The seating inside is plentiful! In terms of beer, they have a large menu that includes all types of beers, including sour ales. I ordered a flight of four- Sour Lake, Pichu Peru, Le Super and Remember the Time. Each was very good, but I really loved the Pichu Peru. It incorporates goldenberries and lime- very refreshing. We ordered the food and it was hit or miss. The fries were unique and full of flavor. Despite having many spices in it, the Crispy Aldo was flavorless and needed lots of salt to taste like something. The drunken noodles were NOT drunken noodle- they used linguine noodles v. rice noodles. Service was hit or miss too. The first bartender who served us was cold, rude and abrasive. He wouldn't let us change our order right after ordering and acted annoyed at us first time visitors. We then interacted with a woman bartender who was very friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
Seriously, I think Broad Leaf is a contender for Best Brewery in GR. Their food is beyond your typical brewery food- pictured the Drunken Noodle, which is my staple, and the Buldak Chicken Carbo, which we tried for the first time and were even more impressed by Their beer is always on point- I always get at least one Sour Lake when I'm there. And their cocktails Pictured are the Coraline, which was not only adorable but delicious, and a Rhuby Pie Cider Slush, which tasted alarmingly similar to rhubarb pie. If you ever get the chance to go here, do it!!! We've only been to the one right off of 28th street on Lake Eastbrook Blvd, but I've heard there's one coming to downtown too
google avatar

Christian F.

Yelp
Food was excellent and there's a really nice selection of brews to select from. The service is really good as well. Okay
google avatar

Katy S.

Yelp
I had the Korean Glazed Pork Bowl and it was fantastic. Their beer selection is also great and always changing. And the service is excellent. I sat at the bar and would not change a thing about the service, food or beer. This is such a unique spot and I will absolutely be back when I'm in down next.
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
This has been on my list since they opened and we finally stopped in for dinner. We had a great time and loved the food. The staff was fantastic and took great care of us. Knowing they have reduced capacity, I called ahead to see how busy they were. I was surprised that he added me to the list for their 30min wait since I promised we were about to head over. As we pulled into the parking lot, I got a text that our table was ready! We ordered a bunch of stuff to share and we honestly loved everything. It's definitely a unique menu for a brewery but they don't mess around. We shared both Bao Bun options, Rice Balls, Garlic Bread, Drunken Noodle, and the Peri Peri Fried Chicken Sandwich. It was awesome that we could choose which type of fries we wanted with each entree. The Drunken Noodle definitely had a spicy kick to it, but it was delicious. Overall, we loved the food, atmosphere, and fantastic staff. Unfortunately, I was on call for work and couldn't try any beer but their list was impressive and I can't wait to come back and try some of their options.

Yelp
Every time we dine here we enjoy it. Fruit Moon Wheat Ale was delicious Friendly service.

Yelp
In town for a work trip. This brewery was near the hotel. Set up similar to most breweries as it is an old warehouse converted to brew beer. It's a big area with a small outdoor patio. I liked how they used old shipping containers to finish off the inside. Overall the food was average and the beer was good. They had a wide selection of IPA's, lagers, and stouts. Definitely enjoyed their brews. The best part of this place was the staff. All very friendly, helpful, and there to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I will be back if in the area again.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
A friend introduced me to this place, and I'm so glad she did. The space is large and open, and you go to the bar to order your drink and good. I love breweries that also have cocktails, and the gin and tonic was very good. I opted for the Korean chicken tacos for my lunch. Came with 2 good sized tacos on a flour tortilla. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with a good amount of pickled shredded carrots. Side of fries that Most handhelds come with were delicious. Nicely fired and well seasoned, not too greasy. The place has a lot of large picnic tables and some high tops. Family friendly as there is a kids menu and what looked like a few arcade games to one side of the brewery. Look forward to coming back here.

Yelp
Juicy Ipas all around Food looks good too but we're just drinking this time around Friendly staff good music selection
google avatar

Daisy P.

Yelp
Good place!! All around!! Staff , food and beer is delicious and cold!! Will be back for sure for music days!!

Shelly C.

Yelp
very nice brewery ,great service, great food, great beer. Live music is awesome, many fun events through the week, and soon to come, a pickle ball court inside the brewery! How fun is that!

John P.

Yelp
A+ all around. Great service with an experienced staff that understands excellent customer service. The staff was friendly, timely, and knowledgeable about their food and beer. Best burger in town! Great interesting fries with home made dipping sauces. Beers were also great. I ordered two different lagers and they were both well made in totally different ways. Cool building. Good atmosphere. Price was reasonable. This will be a place I will be going back to often.

Zak M.

Yelp
On of my new favorite places, this place rocks- atmosphere is hard to match even a decent sizes arcade- a fricken fantastic menu- huge inside for big parties but a couple intimate spots too, great drinks awesome swag- we had a blast. The kind of place you should keep going back. My kids enjoyed the hidden gems of old action figures planted around the place just as a kicker
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
It was nice, new, clean, and big, but reminded me of being part of a strip mall. The beer to me and this is only my taste buds because it was decently busy for a Sunday at 1245 pm and the people sitting at the bar where loving it. You have to remember I hit 7 of the big major ones the night before so it's hard for me to compare them after that. Or else they would be New Holland, and Jolly Pumpkin , or Founders, The Mitten, Atwater. Broad Leaf service was great I just wasn't crazy about the beer Maybe it is great and I shouldn't review it, it is to me good not Bells good to me but to you it might be. My all time Favorite beeer is Bella Two Hearted if that tells you my taste buds.

Yelp
I tried Broad Leaf last week with my soccer team from work. There were 13 of us and the service staff were very kind an accommodating! We were given a brief intro to the place (where to order food and drinks,) and left alone shortly to absorb the menu. The bartender was super helpful and patient with our large group and gave some recommendations to those that weren't sure what to try. After we ordered our food, we enjoyed the fun, lively ambiance. The food came out faster than I expected and it was incredible. I ordered the flank and fries and loved it. The chimichurri sauce was amazing- bursting with flavor and the perfect accompaniment to the wonderfully charred, tender flank steak. And the fries underneath were cooked fantastically- not soggy but not cooked to over crispiness. I also tried the other fries options and they were yummy but the dish my friend ordered had me salivating too - the drunken noodles looked delectable as well. I so appreciated the fact that the staff was friendly and helpful for our large group and I will be back again soon! Thus may becoMe our regular post soccer game spot!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Loved this place! It had a bunch of games you could play at the tables and great drink and food options. I'll 100% be back again soon. Thanks!

Yelp
I can understand having to go up to bar to order food/drinks but it felt way too long to wait and then not a fan of having to wait to pay or get water. Cool place but they can do better.

Stacy D.

Yelp
Worst fries ever. Imagine all the broken chips at the bottom of the bag--that is what we got. Super disappointing and the beer was average at best. Super

Yelp
The hype is real, folks. Broad Leaf is bringing a new vibe to the ultra-saturated brewery and pub scene of Grand Rapids. TL;DR- Get yourself and some people you love here. Imbibe. Rejoice. I'm not surprised by any means that I'd love Vivant's sister brewery. The brewing standards are high and they execute some kick-ass beers. While this level of quality stays the same for Broad Leaf I was afraid the new venture's food menu and aesthetic would echo that of the distinguished Vivant. I was wrong, and totally impressed. You also completely forget that you're so close to 28th Street and everything that "vibe" entails. We need to talk about the food here. It's really freaking good, you guys. Well made burgers, vegan/vegetarian options (yay!) and ridiculously good fries. I can't stop thinking about their Togarashi fries. I ordered sides of Hoisin Mayo and Piri Piri sauce which were both SO tasty. We tried their featured vegan cheese fries which even impressed my ultra-carnivorous date. I can't rave enough about this food. Service was provided by super cool, friendly, pleasant humans. Their set up is a casual walk-up window ordering process- condiments, utensils, side plates and to-go containers are all available for you to grab and take back to your table. You get a table marker and a runner brings your food out when ready which means you can get back to sipping your delicious beer. I could go on, but will spare you my novella. Without any doubt, worth a trip, and a revisit, and becoming a regular.

Yelp
SERVICE: 5 FOOD QUALITY: 5 DRINK QUALITY: 5 ORDER TIME: 5 AESTHETICS: 5 NOISE LEVEL: 5 MENU SELECTION: 5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5 If you have not been here then you messed up. A MUST GO! A large restaurant/brewery in between 28th and 29th street. Upon entering the space you are welcomed with a massive industrialized hipster vibe. The front is so big that they have cornhole set up and all their retail merchandise. Their brand logo is very hip and should resonate with most millennials. The dining area is also very spacious. The opposite of brewery Vivant which has minimal table spacing due to a smaller building. The food is ordered at a window, kind of like founders. The beer was delicious. The first beer was so good that I didn't order a different one. The picture names what I drank. They were as good as vivants beers. The food blew me away. I ordered food to go after I filled my belly. The Peri Peri chicken burger is ranked at #2 best chicken sandwich in Grand Rapids, for me, currently. The chicken was so juicy and the peri peri sauce has a hint of sweet. If you like spicy things then I recommend asking for one of their specialty sauces they offer and adding it to it. I really love this place. I'm not a fan of driving down to 28th street but now I have a reason too. The space has so much potential. They have plant events, and painting events currently. After talking with some employees there is potential to one day, possibly, have live music if they can slice through all the red tape. One of the reasons I choose to go to founders is for the live music. Would love to see this place get on that wagon. Either way, this is a great addition to their company and I will do what I can to help make it succeed. Great addition to the Grand Rapids scene. Can't wait to get my paint on this weekend. Don't be surprised if you run into me here. Feel free to say hi.

Yelp
We had a GREAT time at Broad Leaf! Because it was during Covid, and it was in between shutdowns, it was not very busy when we went. We weren't sure how it was going to be in there because we had never been but I expected it to be kind of small, as a brewery that was well over a year old and still was barely talked about or well known. Well, it isn't small! It is a very roomy, wide open place. It has a great setup of a bar, dining area, kitchen window, outdoor seating area, lift seating area - it really has it all! I cannot believe this place isn't more popular. We started out by getting 2 flights of beer. The beer was gooooood! Then we decided to get a snack and more beer! It seemed necessary to try every single beer they had on tap. Haha. We got garlic and parm fries and Beer Cheese Garlic Bread. The food was really good! It was very salty, but tasted great. Their menu sounded so delicious and a bit fancy for a little brewery! They must have a talented chef working there! Anyway, I can't wait to go back here... A LOT when the pandemic is over. Try not to spread the word about this place too much - I'd really like to keep it a secret!

Yelp
Very good, very nice. Cool atmosphere & artwork. Open space. Flexible for large groups and family. Arcade area (yes!). Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good. The menu is not what I was expecting but in a good way! The curry rice balls were delicious and the chicken pita on special was tasty, too. I like the order at the bar concept. Not from the area but I will definitely come here again when passing thru.

Yelp
My family met here the other night for drinks and dinner. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good but my parents both got the hot chicken sandwich and commented on it not being fully cooked and tasting off. My sister had a few bites too. They mentioned it to the staff who didn't seem concerned about it. The next day all three family members got severe food poisoning for over 12 hours. I would be wary of the food here!

Yelp
We stopped in here for a drink before dinner elsewhere, and I have to say, I wish we would have stayed! The patio is awesome, drinks were tasty, service was on point. All the food that we saw brought out looked and smelled so good! Next time we will do dinner here.

Yelp
I tried this place out because they host Sip N Learn events presented by the GR Pitbull Alliance group. I arrived at 5:30 and the lot looked pretty full but I was pleased to find a spot right away. The interior was large and had an interesting decor. The patio area was great on such a beautiful night. There were signs on the tables to order food and drink inside and the order areas were clearly marked for this newby. I ordered the Bougie Sweet Potato Stout and I ordered my friend a Pichu Peru because she wanted something "citrusy". Well, my beer was really good but she took one sip and said she couldn't drink it. I thought she was being picky but I tried it and it was SOUR! She exchanged it for something else. We shared an order of Garlic and Parmesan Fries but veganized them by holding the Parmesan. They were really good! We tried the featured Asparagus Hummus served with grilled pita and veggies. I was disappointed in the bland lack of flavor and wouldn't order it again. But, I do appreciate that they offer vegan items. So four stars and I will be back.

Yelp
The Beverages are so outstanding, that I found myself returning just to experience other offerings from this Brewary. Treat yourself and friends.

Yelp
Newer bar. Nice atmosphere. Have to order drinks and food at the bar. They'll deliver the food but you grab the drinks. No biggie. Waitstaff was on top of the orders. The food was served pretty fast. Kids had a burger and chicken strips. Wife had drunken noodles which were kinda bland. I ordered the peri chicken sandwich, which I felt was also a bit bland but wasn't horrible. The fries are awesome. Also the beer cheese garlic bowl was pretty good. Don't order that and a meal. It'll be way too much.

Yelp
After writing this broad leaf became our go to place because the beer is impeccable, the staff are conscientious, we always have a good time and are able to maintain privacy, we LOVE the rotating menu and especially the fries, I no longer have to ask about the sauce because I have a favorite one. Before pandemic times (which have been handled with great diplomacy by broad leaf) we also loved going to a paint and pint night. This might be our favorite joint.

Yelp
Cool local bar/restaurant scene. The menu was short and sweet. My party personally tried the "A Burger" (a classic cheese burger and about what you'd expect) as well as the Bao Buns (an excellent pork wrap of sorts with a good sauce topped with Jalapeño!). Overall the food was good and scene was fun with trendy art on the walls, friendly helpful staff, and a clean environment! I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Great brews, awesome burgers (and chicken), and the Togarashi fries...oh, the Togarashi fries were so yummy delicious! The staff were all very friendly & all were wearing masks to keep the experience safe. We had the option to order via a QR code from the table or order at the bar (behind plexiglass). Cool vibes all around...and, did I say the Togarashi fries were amazing???

Yelp
What a great little spot! love the atmosphere. been there a few times now, and, love it every time. food is good - and fun in that you order at the counter, they give you an old VHS tape box to put on your table for the food to come out and be served. love the live music they have. they have also had some cool local artists showing their wears. convenient location right between 28th & 29th streets off Lake Eastbrook. we'll be back!
