I've decided that Broad Leaf is my favorite brewery in the Grand Rapids area. It's definitely the most unique and cool of the ones I've visited. The vibe is industrial, artsy, and eclectic and the food menu is Asian inspired and so tasty. The space is huge and great for groups. They have shipping container seating which is really fun, and they just opened their indoor pickleball court as well as kick pin, which is a bowling game with soccer balls. They even have an arcade as well as board games you can play while there. It's pretty kid-friendly and their patio is dog-friendly too.
Another fun feature at Broad Leaf is their community board where you can purchase a drink for a future visitor. Be sure to check out the list behind the bar! (It can be a specific person, or it could be more general like "a GRCC student in the brewing program.") I also liked the "beer ball" (skee ball) game - if you get a high score you could win a prize.
Order food and drinks at the bar and they'll bring things out to your table. The employees I've encountered are all super friendly and helpful. The menu has some vegetarian and vegan options, but not a ton for our keto friends. We tried the Korean broccoli on our most recent visit, which was crispy and slightly sweet and so delicious. I also love their fries and their housemade sauce options. The menu changes pretty frequently.
They host lots of fun events like trivia, karaoke, vinyl night, book club, and different themed food events. It's just a really fun, cool spot that I always enjoy checking out. It's definitely worth a short drive from downtown!
