The 20 Best Bagels In New York City, Ranked

"This narrow shop on the Upper West is crowded with folks ordering elaborate sandwiches with things like avocado and microgreens, or Carnegie Deli pastrami, or even a french toast bagel with mango cream cheese. All good options, but even just a simple slather of scallion cream cheese is great on their chewy, flavorful, browner-than-average bagels, which are easily identifiable by the notable swirling cracks in the crust. Inside, it looks like a cookie-cutter deli, but there's some decent sidewalk real estate where you can hammer out an email or stop to admire a doodle. They've got locations in Columbus Circle and Times Square, too. " - bryan kim, will hartman, willa moore, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah

At first glance Broad Nosh doesn’t look much like a bagel spot and you may even miss it if you walk a little too fast. The space is decently sized but extremely packed as it seems very popular with locals and tourists, which makes sense given its location. The space is clean but you will be cramped as you squeeze in to get an order off. We ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese with a coffee. The orders came out pretty quick given the volume of people there, but we will add that they certainly could benefit from having more workers there. Once we sat down and ate our bagels we were left with mixed feelings. While the bagels weren’t bad, they definitely don’t hold up to others in NYC, let alone the same neighborhood. They have a good texture and crunch but don’t wow you at first bite. The cream cheese is just okay and they put an average amount of it on there in case you’re someone looking for a place that stuffs their bagels. The coffee was a big miss as well. No real flavor and that’s with a splash of milk and sugar. It tasted a bit watered down and that’s coming with the expectation that it would be. Overall, Broad Nosh is a decent bagel spot, just not one we would recommend to others in the neighborhood as there are much better options just a few minutes away.

Visited Broad Nosh Bagels in Manhattan this morning and was thoroughly impressed! The breakfast bagels were absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. Despite the place being a madhouse with a constant stream of customers, the staff was amazing. They managed the crowd efficiently and had my order ready within 10 minutes. The service was quick, friendly, and professional. If you're in Manhattan and craving a fantastic bagel, Broad Nosh Bagels is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Awesome place! My wife and I visited NYC and decided to get a bagel here. We ordered online and picked them up and they were ready at the scheduled pick up time. I built my own with smoked salmon with bacon scallion cream cheese with a few extra toppings on a jalapeno cheddar bagel and she got a French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Those were so good that we had to break our rule of not visiting the same eating place twice. We went a few days later and we ordered in person and we got the special which is a smoked salmon with cream cheese, onion, cucumber, capers and dill on an everything bagel. We decided that it was probably the best thing we ate on our trip. Keep doing what you are doing.

I was pleasantly surprised with the gluten free BEC. It’s not dense like a regular bagel - it’s very airy - but it’s pretty solid. And for gluten free, “pretty solid” is a good review. Gluten free bagel sandwich came out to ~$11. It took around 5 minutes on a Monday morning. They have lots of bagel options. Lots of cream cheese options. Snacks, desserts. Their sandwiches (with meat or fish) are very expensive (over $20).

Amazing visit to Broad Nosh Bagels! We stopped in on a Monday morning. The line was quite long, but it moved quickly and efficiently. There are also tables inside and outside for dining in. We ordered two lox sandwiches and a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The bagels were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. As KC natives, we were ecstatic to come here today for authentic NY bagels, as our options back home are limited to non-existent. We may be back to place an order for bagels to go to fly them back to the Midwest! Highly recommend.

Had an amazing morning talking with Rob (I believe the owner). He came to our table to welcome us and asking how the food was - and ir was delicious! Each ingredient was so fresh and the bagel omg soooo delicious! But make sure to attentive for any open spots on the tables cause the place gets packed! There was a huge line waiting for the bagels. But it goes fast! The team is very efficient.

Broad Nosh Bagels definitely delivers on the bagel front! Regardless of whether you're a fan of the chewy Montreal-style bagels or the more substantial, bready New York type (and that debate, it seems, will rage on forever!), Broad Nosh has a solid offering that won't disappoint. One of the best things about this spot is the sheer variety. They have a great selection of bagel flavors to choose from, meaning there's something for every craving. And if that wasn't enough, their cream cheese selection is even more expansive – you could probably try a new combination every day for a month! Be prepared, though: Broad Nosh is a popular spot, and for good reason. The queues can get quite long, so factor in a 20-30 minute wait, especially during peak times. But for a fresh, satisfying bagel and endless cream cheese possibilities, it's a wait well worth enduring.

Broad Nosh Bagels Deli & Catering (58th Street) Ordered: • Bacon, egg & scallion cream cheese with tomato, onion, and capers on a toasted everything bagel • Pesto chicken with lettuce, tomato, onion & mozzarella on a toasted everything bagel • Cold coffee • Carrot, ginger & apple juice Everything was hot, fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. The prices are reasonable, and both the coffee and vegetable juice were very refreshing. It gets quite crowded in the morning, but the service was still quick. Conveniently located near Central Park. Will surely visit again!
