Broad Ripple Farmers Market

Excellent local farmers market! There is a variety of stands, including a good mix of local produce, specialty items, and hot food/coffee. There is plenty of parking at and nearby the market, but getting there early helps beat the large crowd! We buy lots of our weekly produce here. Many stands take card but some are cash only.

One of the best Indy farmer's markets. Large assortment of local vendors selling organic vegetables, fruits, honey, delicious breakfast items, pies, dips, local coffee, sweet treats, breads and pasta plus live music! Lots of nearby free parking options. Dog & stroller friendly.

I really enjoyed this farmers market. It isn't the largest I've been too, but it had a nice mix of snacks/drinks and products. Every booth seemed to be high quality and every owner I interacted with was great. Parking was tough to come by, but that came as no surprise.

This particular farmers market is enormous! But I still felt myself wanting more. Although there was music, some food and a covered pavilion to sit and eat in the shade, it would be really nice to incorporate some additional activities for kids… bubbles, chalk, face painting, or even just a handful of booths geared more toward them. I also feel like there’s still a ton of open space left being unused. Plenty of room for more tents, food trucks, tables with chairs and umbrellas, etc. I personally went for hanging plants but didn’t find any.

Amazing produce and food vendors! Also one of the best places to take your dog and get your knives sharpened & repaired! In October the starting date goes back an hour & in November it goes indoors until Spring!

Had interesting edible items. Can taste some of them. Some organic, and some I dont know, but you can ask. And we did make purchases. You should visit. From 8a to 12n on Saturdays.

Love the fruit and vegetable selection, the breakfast/brunch options (especially La Chinita Poblana), and there are usually a couple things our toddler can do while we walk around. Everyone is friendly. Parking lot is almost always full but the turnover is enough we always find a spot. That said, we've parked right across the street and walked over if it didn't feel worth it, especially in the summer. Knocking off 1 star only because there are several vendors who mark up their prices from normal retail simply because of the event.

Always a good time with live music and good food. Great selections on fresh vegetables and a lots of other things. Super nice vendors would highly recommend.

This was my first indoor farmers market and it was a great experience! My favorite farmers market is the Broad Ripple summer market. This indoor version for the winter season was just as impressive as their outdoor one. The space is big, parking lot is big, and there are a lot of vendors. Again, they nail it with the broad variety of vendors. They had some new vendors and the regular ones. The produce vendors had fresh veggies, just not much fruit this time of year (December). There were root vegetables, mushrooms, and leafy greens. There were vendors with ready to eat food options or they cooked food on the spot for you to enjoy during the market. The atmosphere was busy during the holiday season, but it didn't feel claustrophobic in there. It was great to do some holiday shopping too as there were giftable goods being sold by local businesses.

Such a cute farmers market! So many amazing selections to choose from! Everyone working and attending was so kind and helpful! Definitely will be going back!

In Europe, markets (farmer's markets as we call them here) are a staple of everyday life. Here they are kind of a novelty but I think we are slowly creeping toward staple. In our house we like to see the market as a necessity. We try to buy only at the market and not from the grocery store: eggs, bread, jams, sausage/bacon and fresh flowers for home decoration. We easily find these things at this market year-round (ok, maybe not the flowers). We enjoy purchasing seasonal fruit and vegetables that we don't grow at home or don't grow enough of. Berries are a favorite in the summer in which multiple vendors provide. Sweet corn is reallllly popular at this market. You will wait in a line. We enjoy purchasing and eating breakfast the market but we find it is expensive for the portion you get - no matter the vendor. Jason Michael Thomas has delicious breakfast sandwiches. In 2021 the market was not in Broad Ripple 'proper' and that ruffled some feathers. I was personally very pleased to see it at its temporary home at 2nd Presbyterian as I live only a few blocks away. Everyone that works at the market (market staff, vendors, volunteers...) I have found very friendly and inclusive of everyone in the community. The market's instagram pack is very usual as a way to see a market 'preview'. I plan ahead what I want to buy based on the preview. Our young daughter loves to join us for shopping and a bit to eat... and in the Summer the real attraction are the dogs. So many cute dogs! The live music is a great addition. We buy breakfast and head over to the tables near the music and make a great morning out of it. Music is continued at the Winter market as well (which is currently located in the vacant Macy's). I hope to see this market continue to expand. We enjoy it very much. My only ask is that the folks running the trash/recycling be a little less condescending when it comes to sorting rubbish.

Well I certainly arrived to late to enjoy this warm and dry, winter indoor farm market. The Market is located in a small room inside of Liter House. Unfortunately, I only had 5 minutes because I didn't realize they closed so early. We went ahead and grabbed a dining table first at Liters for brunch then I went straight to the Market. I should have shopped first and I should have confirmed the hours. I did have a few minutes to make a round through but several vendors were already packing up or assisting their final customers. I did see several vendors I'll checkout hopefully here again or at another marketplace. The fresh herbs were so beautiful and healthy, foxglove, tigers lilies and other plants available, amazing candies, honey, chocolates and Circle City Kombucha was busy filling growlers. I hope to have the opportunity to see some of these vendors again. And, I'll confirm hours before going!

What's not to love about a farmer's market, especially one in Broadripple?! Some parts that make this one so great: -dog friendly! Of course use caution to make sure your pup isn't turning booths into an all you can eat buffet, but furry friends are welcome! -on the dog note, there were 2 different dog vendors when I was here, which as someone who is obsessed with my dog, I really appreciated! -there is a variety of vendors! I feel that this market focuses on quality of booths rather than quantities. The result is a unique variety of goods, each booth being different than the last -everyone is friendly. Seriously. Shoppers and vendors a like were enjoying the weather and the Indianapolis culture. Street parking is available, it fills up but most people don't camp out all day. Cheers to shopping local!

I've always loved the vendors here. The market moves around, but I like getting my food from local vendors that I know. Relationships with the people that grow and raise animals that I eat are extremely important to me. Just today Norman explained the difference between a few of his Potato varieties and how some are good for baking, others good to dice up. Mandy, at Schott farms, lives by a simple principle of no fillers and all organic feed for the chickens. The apples from the orchard, the bison from the rancher, local lettuce, kale, honey. I think we can all eat local and live better because of it.

I always come to the market every Saturday morning. There is a large parking lot and we never have problems getting somewhere to park. In the summer it's generally 8 AM - 12 PM. Very dog friendly! The vendors will change week to week occasionally, so check out their instagram to see if your favorite spot will be there that week. My favorite spots to stop are for pastries, breakfast wraps, and to pick up a treat for my dog at "Dog Wants" There is a separate dining area covered down a path. There's generally a local band playing music there as well to enjoy while you eat. I'm sure you would be able to find something for everyone in your group!

Overall, the BRWM is a great way to escape the cold, step inside the beautiful Liter House, and get exposure to lots of locally made goodies. Given that it's wintertime, most of the vendors aren't fresh veggies/produce, but rather locally made baked goods, meats/cheeses, etc. I liked the overall selection of the vendors, but it was really crammed inside, and the day I went, it wasn't even that busy! There is so little space between the vendors' booths that if you have even 1 or 2 people waiting in a line, it causes a backup and a traffic jam, resulting in customers just "giving up" on that biz and not making a sale. I LOVE that it's inside the Liter House so you can grab some brunch and then head over to the market, or vice versa. There's also ample free parking. Adding more space for everyone (vendors and market goers) would be a priority for next year!

A great farmers market in the Meridian Kessler area. There's a range of produce, baked items, poultry, flowers and food items. There s plenty of parking and just a short walk to the market. There isn't anywhere to really sit but we brought a blanket and sat down in the grass!

I love farmers markets! Thankfully Indy has them year round, but there is something special about being able to go and check one out outside and take in all the sights. I've seen posts about this farmers market online and have always been curious about it. Finally made the plunge and decided to go check it out. It's located in the old Broadripple high school parking lot and there's plenty of places to choose from. It's been stifling hot as of late, but I'm not mad, when you first walk into the farmers market the natural born juicers truck is there for you to pick something up from. If you haven't tried them yet, please do. I love the green juice because it's refreshing but you don't feel like you are drinking dirt. The whole market is spread out and there are so many different options! I picked up some fresh produce from an Amish stall, fresh eggs from a farm down in Bloomington, pots and pans were there with hand pies and cold brew coffee. Awesome experience and I'll be a weekly customer for some staple items

This is nice and clean farmers market at broad ripple. People are strictly requested to wear mask if they forgot their mask they can buy at enterance. Easy parking I loved thai cold coffee at Hubbard and cravens. Get some extra for to go you won't find thai cold coffee at their actual coffee place it is only available here at farmers market. Hmm what should we eat for breakfast?Go get egg cheese sandwich from Skillington farms 5 out 5. Their bread is amazing. Overall 5 out 5.

The smaller and cozier version of the summer market still packs in all I love about farmers markets- fresh produce, local food and drinks. Be sure to check out Caprini Creamery's feta cheese, Native Bread's gluten free fresh bread or Amelia's for pro gluten, Pots and Pan's for a flaky tasty treat, and Circle to fill up a growler of kombucha. The market is inside in between Liter House and Half Liter.

A beautiful place to spend your Saturday morning! There are many farmer's markets to choose from in Indy, but here are four reasons why I love the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market: 1. DOGS EVERYWHERE! If anything, this is a great place to come see all sorts of beautiful critters. 2. You are right by the Monon Trail, many great brunch destinations, breweries, and other things to do. Making a trip to the farmer's market can turn into a day long outing. 3. There are always a good amount of vendors, at least 30! From pretzels to gluten free bakery, to dog treats, to fresh cut flowers, you are going to find something for you. 4. Hello, it's a great place for breakfast! You can easily find something for everyone in your group. I recommend scoping out all the options before committing to a breakfast item. Some things to note: 1. There are not many tables to sit down and enjoy your finds. There are usually a few tables by the music, but again, it's limited. 2. Parking is a little chaotic. I recommend parking a few streets away (on Compton street) and take a short walk to get there).

A very nice farmer's market especially if you are looking for fresh produce or fresh meat.

I just can't say no to a farmer's market. What makes this one special? It's history and amazing set of bizs: - Circle City Kombucha (try the new Concord!) - Roamers (new biz with yummy, hot pink beet hummus) - Nicey Treat (creative popsicles) - Broad Ripple Chip Co - Hubbard & Cravens Coffee And about twenty others! I'm excited to come back again and spend more time the second time around. There was a bit of live music and a nice crowd. Would love to see flowers for purchase as well!

New location... Pandemic procedures... a bit confusing, but still fun. I was expecting a bit more produce than there was, but I purchased quite a few goodies to munch on. Unfortunately the lady at Byrne's Pizza was incredibly rude, chastising me for not pre-ordering pizza... Heck, I didn't know, this is new to me too, so maybe a bit of patience. Yet she was overly sweet to the next customer, explaining all sorts of things and offering to call ahead to the actual restaurant to pick up a specialty pizza... weird... Like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. A shame really as this is one of my favorite pizza spots. I was eventually able to purchase one of their extra pizzas from the gentleman also working then stand, but this leaves a sour taste with me for sure. There were a lot of plant sales going on, but most of those stands had long lines. I scored some nice goat cheese. Also X'chocol art supplied me with some delicious caramel almonds and a big assortment of chocolates... omg... eat the chocolates with a glass of red wine for even more impact... just a suggestion.

I love farmers markets, and this is a good one. Lots of good produce and products to take home for cooking, live music, plus a nice selection of food and drinks to enjoy right away. I really enjoy the pupusas from 3 in 1 Restaurant, which are made with cornmeal, so they are gluten free. Note: get there early to ensure you get what you want, because several places like Native Breads (also gluten free) often sell out early.

I love farmer's markets. This one has a bit of everything and is in the heart of Broad Ripple. It is a favorite Saturday morning outing for our family. Some of my favorites at this farmers market: * there is always live music * doggies are welcome * the vendors - they are some of the best - some of which you may have seen at Yelp events! - Revival Almond Butter - Simpson Family Farms (beyond organic meats!) - Wildflower Ridge Honey - Rene's Bakery - Amelia's Bakery - Nicey Treats - Fermenti Artisan - My Dad's Sweet Corn This is only a small portion of the list - check out the web site and you'll see many more vendors. It is a fun place to be Saturday morning. Tips: - The market is in the high school parking lot - there is parking and I have always found a spot in the parking lot. But many will also park on the surrounding streets. You can park in Handicap parking spots for the farmer's market - there are some that are reserved for handicap parking - those are marked as "farmer's market handicap parking" - get there early if you can - less crowded. - many vendors have samples - and are happy to answer any questions you may have. - wear sun screen on sunny days - not much shade here.

How does one up the farmer's market game? Put it inside a brewery. Not only do you have plenty of shopportunities, but also you have your boozy brunch destination under one roof. Who's all there? Need a recommendation? The waffle is pretty out of control in the best possible way. Don't make other meal plans that Saturday, because the sweet and savory dish will stick to your ribs all day. Whether you're one to seize the day or stumble in hungover, start your weekend right at the winter market!

I have spent the last few years wanting to go to our farmers markets, due to my old job any fun weekend things were impossible - but I was finally able to go to the winter market! I had a great time! I was able to chat with several of the vendors- all of them caught me up to speed with what they suggested and welcomed me to the market! I am obsessed with the Focaccia bread from Amelia's and am glad to be able to pick up my delicious nettle cheese from Tulip Tree in the reg! I can't wait to get to the summer market and see more produce when we are in season and eventually be able to bring my dog!!! Get out there and support some of your local groups!

Great space at BRHS for this! There's parking for customers and walkable for those who live in Broad Ripple! I love that farmer's markets are dog friendly because it let's you leisurely stroll and knock out walking your dog and shopping for groceries. This one is probably one of my favorite because it has a great mix of local farmers and local businesses. Retailers such as Circle City Kombucha, Nicey Treat, Walking Waffle Co, Pots and Pies, and Three Dog Indy are here. I've never left the BRFM empty handed!

Absolutely love this market. It's pretty big, conveniently located, and there's a great variety of produce, meats, and other groceries that are reasonably priced. In fact, it's hard to stop buying once you start! Some tips for first timers and those coming during the "COVID era": - Come early! - Familiarize yourself with vendors prior to arrival - Bring cash just in case - Bring a mask (they may not let you in without one) - Park by the Glendale movie theaters (much easier in-and-out) - This one may be obvious but...bring your own grocery bag

Such a cool way to spend a Saturday morning! Fresh produce, people and Bloody Mary's! Delicious Bloody Mary's by the way. It's so awesome to see a neighborhood come together like this! Everyone here is bundled up in their coats, hats and scarfs and braved the cold to come have some good food and stock up on fresh produce for the week. The selection is awesome. Swiss chard, kale, fresh cheese, local honey, Kombucha, fresh bread....you name it, they have it. The staff at the bar/breakfast area were super helpful and delightful! Smiles all around! We had the cornbread casserole (a first) and the Egg Sandwich. Both were fresh and delicious! The Bloody Mary had kick and was a great addition to our breakfast. There's live music from a local artist that is soothing while shopping for your fresh goods. I see myself returning here often. It's a great thing to do on a Saturday morning! Great family atmosphere! It's open from 9a-noon, so don't wait too long to decide to come here on Saturday morning.

Farmer's Market season. I like to explore and support them. This weekend was my first visit to Broad Ripple Farmer's Market. Parallel parking was tight, but there is a one-way street to park on the school's lot. The market is a long stretch along the east parking lot with angles of vendors at the ends. A vendor was selling prepared meals that smelled delicious. I particularly like the 100% maple syrup booth; the husband said that his wife was marketing at the Carmel's Farmer's Market, but I did not see her booth earlier that morning. Less than 10 booths were similar at the Broad Ripple and Carmel's markets. I like the Carmel's market because it is closer to me, easier to park, and vendors spread out in more space. A musician was playing in the small seating area.

Farmers markets have really exploded in central Indiana. It seems like every city (and within Indianapolis, every neighborhood) has its own farmer's market. It makes me think that there are just too many of them. How can there be enough farmers to have a presence at all these farmer's markets? Some of them are really small (10 vendors or less) and have a limited selection. However, the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market has no such problem. It is one of the oldest (and therefore, biggest) farmer's markets so it is well-attended. If you drive in, parking can be a bit of a problem. There is limited parking in the school lot, but if you drive down Compton, you should be able to find a parallel parking space within 1/4 mile. What brings a lot of people (myself included) to farmer's markets is the ready-to-eat food. I treat them like locally sourced food courts. The Broad Ripple Farmer's Market has no less than half-a-dozen stands that sell prepared foods for breakfast. Breakfast tacos, pizzas, sandwiches. Baked goodies, coffee, juices. Even desserts.

I love love love this market! I usually drag omg my teenage daughter and we will have breakfast from one of the food trucks while we walk and shop ! We went a week ago and fell in love with all of the beautiful flowers that are out this season! I had to pick me up a couple along with the breakfast pizza from Byrnes , a walking taco for the toddler ( but I may have eaten most of it ) , a breakfast sandwich , and a strawberry lemonade and iced coffee ! I love the kombucha options along with all of the fresh veggies! I just love the community , live music, and personal touches of each vendor. Such a great energy here

Before I moved to Indy, I scoured a lot of Instagrams to uncover the local scene and flavors. The BR Farmers Market was one of the first Instas that I immediately fell in love with: gorgeous people with their puppies, glorious veggies and fresh fruits, beautiful bouquets of flowers, and plenty of food trucks to satisfy everyone's tastebuds, even your Midwest grandma's! Knowing what I know about farmers markets, I hopped on my bike to avoid car parking and peddled my way down the Monon to check it out last weekend. I was surprised that there wasn't designated bike parking, or rather, more adequate bike racks to accommodate all of the cyclists; I had to find the most accessible handrail to lock up to. That was a bit awkward, but not terrible. But on to the important stuff! Since this was my first visit, I meandered past each and every stand to get an idea of the vendors and their offerings. I was immediately greeted by an animal shelter and nearly walked away with two kittens! Thank goodness I was on my bike, otherwise I really would have brought them home! Continuing through the market, as described before, there were so many lovely local wares: veggies, fruits, cheese, honey, baked goods, hot sauces, and everything in between! I made sure to stop for a breakfast taco and then followed it up with a waffle, just to balance the morning out. Overall, I love this market. You can feel the pride emanating from the vendors and the appreciation from the locals for the wonderful local products. You know where to find me on Saturday mornings now! Maybe I'll bring a kitten home next weekend...but first, tacos.

This farmer's market has both summer AND winter hours which is truly unique. During the warmer months, you can find this market in the Broad Ripple High School parking lot with LOTS of options for locally-sourced and produced items (dog treats, breads, various kinds of beverages, produce, meats, flowers, household items, ready-to-eat food items, and more). This is a dog-friendly market, and I have never been to a vendor that wasn't kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products. Most (if not all) vendors are open to and encourage you using your own produce and grocery/goods bags which is a wonderful bonus to shopping here. You can even find live music and some places to sit and enjoy the hustle and bustle of a summer farmer's market. During the colder months, you can find the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings inside Liter House located in South Broad Ripple (SoBro area) off of Winthrop Avenue. This time of year the market is not dog-friendly, but they still have a decent range of items available as well as music and ready-to-consume foods and beverages. They also accept SNAP/Fresh Bucks throughout the year which is an amazing way to help our entire community thrive off of wonderfully made/grown local goods. I am so thankful to live in an area of the nation that provides me with locally-sourced goods throughout the year. This place is sooooo cool. It's a small and quaint farmers market open space with live music and inexpensive, yet delicious, food. Bent rail offers free hugs. Anyway, they have a simple affordable menu that caters to most eaters. It's a good place to eat then shop. The seating isn't plentiful, so you may have to wait or stalk a table or bar spot. Trust me, it's worth it. We ordered the egg sandwich, cornbread casserole, and bloody Mary's...what's breakfast without bloodies right. The egg sandwich was all that I dreamed of. It was a simple sandwich. Nothing fancy, nothing extra...fried eggs (or scrambled if you'd prefer), cheese, and bacon (or sausage if you desire). The cornbread casserole was a wintery delight. You must get the green verde type sauce. I'm not a casserole kinda person, but this will be part of my bent rail diet. Trust me y'all, this is non shareable. I mean, you can try, but you'll order another. Lastly, the bloodies, although made with zing sang and Tito's, was still very good. Maybe the food contributed to its taste, but it paired well with the food. This market is open from 9am-noon on Saturday's. Don't miss it. Wake up, come eat, go back home and nap. This is well organized and a must visit. Come one, come all...you're welcome.

Finally went to the winter farmers market inside Liter. I was a bit disappointed on how small it was. I was hoping to find some of my favorite vendors, but I didn't see any. I did see Amelia's bakery. I bought a chocolate croissant, which was delicious. They had a good selection of veggies and meats for sale. I was looking for the pupusas and Chinita Poblana tacos.

There is always an excellent variety of prepared foods, produce, flowers, and more! It is a great way to spend a Saturday! The only issue is that if you are not there by an early time, you will have a pretty hard time finding parking. Get there early, you won't regret it!

The first farmer's market of the season was on Saturday and they had so many vendors! They have a nice new set up at a nearby church that has a lot of room for social distancing. They have so many produce stands, cheese, and ready to eat food! The breakfast waffles and pizzas looked so tempting but I ended up with a big jar of dill pickles from That Pickle Guy! He was so nice and let me sample some of his pickles before buying, and they were delicious.

There are few things I enjoy more than a good farmer's market. Broad Ripple Farmer's Market is one of my main three I turn to throughout the year. The stash of dogs and fresh vegetables is plentiful. It's been fun over the past few years to see these markets serve as a small business incubators - I remember trying my first Hoosier Momma taste at a market, Nicey Treat when they were a simple roll-around cart and so on and so forth. Other businesses you'll find: Three Days in Paris, Circle City Soups, LICK, Circle City Sweets, and dozens more:) I visited the market last weekend and found only one tweak I would make - could you pretty please bring in an ATM? Other than that, continue the wonderful live music, friendly familiar faces and delicious brunch eats.

I fall more and more in like with the BR Farmer's Market after each visit. Unlike other local markets, they have a nice selection of local produce at fairly reasonable prices versus some markets that are dominated by ready to eat and packaged items. Plus, some of my favorite local businesses are there. Hellllllooooo to Nicey Treat, LICK, Home Ec, Amelia's, and Natural Born Juicers. During my visit today, I snagged some melons, oddles of squash, salad mix, and blueberries. Happy, healthy (not really, but trying :-) me! Definitely making this spot part of my weekly grocery shopping routine. This place is dog friendly so expect lots of furry children. If you come late be prepared to park on the street. Oh BRipp Farmer's Market, how I love thee. The best part of my Saturday mornings is always the farmers market. During the winter, the market takes place indoors and has a smaller selection, but there is still plenty of fresh food available for purchase. The summer market really shines (no pun intended) though, because there are at least two, maybe three times the amount of vendors present? While there is a large variety of typical booths selling fresh produce and meats, there is also a number of vendors selling pre-made foods and other goods. One of my favorite vendors is Pots and Pans, they are always serving up something delicious and never disappoint. Oh and did I mention, dog central? So many fluffy canine companions, and (almost) always getting along with one another. It's heaven. There's also live music every week, rain or shine. You can grab some breakfast and sit at the table while enjoying the music! It's also a nice place to people-watch (and dog-watch, if you're me). The Broad Ripple Farmer's Market is one of my absolute favorite things to do in all of Indianapolis. If you haven't been, it's worth it, trust me.

I enjoy spending my Saturday mornings at the market. I can start it off with coffee and breakfast as I walk around and find what I need. Produce, cookies, smoked seasonings, jam, so many good things! A couple weeks ago, the power went out and we walked around with flashlights. I am thankful that the market continues in the winter. I love supporting local.

Excellent opportunity to meet the people who grow and make food. Lots of choices and you are eating so healthy don't forget to indulge with the chocolate guy.

Love the BR Farmers Market!! It is easy and convenient to get to. Lots and lots of parking nearby and easy to walk to from anywhere in BRIP. Lots and Lots of vendors. Plenty of produce to choose from, many organic local meat stands and organic free range eggs. Not all of the farmers are organic but there are plenty that are and they are all very nice to chat with about their produce. There are also a few restaurants serving food. Pizza, Tacos, Traditional Breakfast Items, as well as Juices. There are stands for foods to consumer later like Kraut, Peanut Butter, Pesto, oh and pert food/treats. Also there is usually live bluegrass music playing. Its a wonderful place to go. its my go to for produce on the weekend. Lots of great people and good fun. Oh and it is pet friendly, some of the vendors also have little doggy bowls with water. Shop Local Support Local Farming!

I had the most inexplicably liberating (and colorful) experience at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market this morning.. Indy is an incredible city, but sometimes you need a break from the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan area. As "millennial" as this sounds, it was wonderful to simply see folks embracing Community at the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market. Now, what people really care about.. the food/drink offered at the market. My first stop was Hubbard & Cravens to snag a Thai Iced Coffee, which the local coffee shop offers exclusively at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market. This was just what I needed to caffeinate for the day. Although I "browsed" just about every stand - from fresh produce and baked goods to prepared foods and gorgeous wild flowers. Ultimately, I chose to spend the majority of my allotted budget at Farm to Product, where I purchased the homemade roasted red pepper hummus and kale bowl. The produce photos attached to this post are from a stand that was "unmarked", but they truly had the most beautiful fresh veggies. This farmers market is a staple to the funky-fresh community of the Broad Ripple Village, and I commend all who put effort into maintaining it.

NICE. Quite a few fun stands- there were a number of stands with veggies, or fruits--even specific fruits, like an apple stand. I liked that there were a number of ready-made things--a few bread companies (Amelia's, YES) and Circle City Sweets (didn't know they now make jams. Another YES--I got peach vanilla, which I can highly recommend), Chinita Poblana was there in the morning with cactus and egg tacos and steak and egg tacos, and a few others. Got some super fun flowers from one flower vendor that had colorful more country type flowers. There was one ceramics artist, and a couple vendors that had different kinds of poultry, meat, etc. Nice stuff and not too crowded.

This was the first time going and was very impressed. There is a large variety of fruits, vegetables, pet snacks, honey, maple syrup, ready to eat foods, pies...I could go on. The tents are spread out enough to remain social distanced. It is hit and miss if the vendor will take cards, so have some cash ready just in case. This may be one of the better farmers markets in Indy.

Went this past Saturday. Great mix of ready-to-eat stuff + food trucks (many of the names you'll recognize, some you might not) and vendors/farmers selling their goods as well. Pro-tips: Go early. Even though I went on a Saturday when it ended at noon, by the time I left at 10:30 some of the booths were already being taken down. This also means you're less likely to encounter a vendor running out. Eat beforehand: Otherwise passing by the dozens of bakeries and food trucks will be way too tempting. Parking is surprisingly adequate but be patient as many Broad Ripple residents will be walking in and out.

It's a grocery store. It's a breakfast joint. It's a community activism locale. It's a dog petting zoo. What ISN'T it? Pretentious, overpriced, or boring. Yes, there are vegetables and fruit. But there's also bread, pastries, hot breakfast, honey, pretzels, frozen meat, biking and healthy living booths, and dogs, dogs, dogs! Easy to bike to, just a couple blocks from the Monon. Lots of parking in the lot and adjoining streets. And both vendors and most customers are nice and happy to be there. One of my favorite places to go on a Saturday morning.

My friends are my family, and I love all of them dearly. When we get to spend time together, I'm a happy guy. I'm a little older and a lot more out of shape than my friends though. They like to bike up to the Carmel Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, and I let them. If they decide to go to Broadripple, though, I'm all in. See.. that's only half the distance and I can make that trip. Carmel... I'd be Ubering back and ditching my bike. I actually prefer the Broadripple Farmer's Market over the Carmel one. I think that the Carmel Farmers Market tries too hard, if that makes sense. You see fancy booths and manicured green spaces at their market. Not in Broadripple. No sir. In Broadripple there is no grass.. just a parking lot behind the high school. The vendors set up in one easy to walk through line. You start at one end, look to your left and walk down the path. At the end? Turn around and repeat. There.. you've seen it all! It's super easy to see what everyone has, and it's not confusing if you forget who has what. I'm so happy that we have the Broadripple Farmer's Market, and that it's open every Saturday beginning in May and lasting through September. I don't get here as often as I want to, but if I've got friends biking up, changes are I'll be there too.

Such a great farmer's market, as so many have already said. A wide selection of veggies, fruits, and herbs from real farmers. Also some delicious breads - including my favorites from Amelia's! Several options for ready-to-go snacks and meals, too, as well as fabulous coffee. The vendors are friendly and patient, though it pays to get here early before it gets really crowded if you want to ask questions. Also, my maps app confused the heck out of me - the market is at the high school. You can park there, or there is plentiful street parking (free) in the neighborhood near the school. All in all, an Indy classic well worth checking out.

I went to Broad Ripples farmers market behind the school on Saturday and loved it! I'm used to going to Carmel's market, which is a quite larger than this, but the selection here was just as great! It was busy from the second it opened at 8 AM and there were dogs everywhere! I ended up stocking up on some vegetables and flowers. I also stopped by Rene's bakery booth for some fresh croissants. I will definitely be back next weekend and every weekend after during the summer!

Good, but not great farmer's market. Be it riding your bike or driving your car, parking close to the market is a bear. The market is hidden behind BR High School, so space feels limited and squashed. Rest assured, you can get whatever you're searching for: a limited selection of organic fruits and veggie, specific cuts of pork and beef, kimchee, BBQ sandwiches, baked goods (bread, danish, muffins, croissants) from local bakeries that are often GF/Vegan, wild flowers, crepes, coffee, iced drinks, popsicles, herbs, teas. I dunno. So much of the goods at this market appear to be processed foods -- I'd love to see more fruits and veggies offered in a less congested space. Right now, the Carmel Farmer's Market by the Palladium is our top choice. It's extremely well laid out, has a designated area to park your bike, and has far more fruit/veg options. Next to try, Zionsville's Farmer's Market!

There's nothing I love more than fresh produce. (Okay, that's a lie, Star Wars is better than fresh produce, in my opinion.) But I seriously love the BRFM. Excellent prices, friendly people, and the most delicious fruits, veggies, eggs, cheeses, and meats. The BRFM also sends out a newsletter complete with recipes and ideas for what is going to be featured at the upcoming markets. I bought all of the ingredients to make ratatouille yesterday for under $10. You cannot beat that! The quality of produce is unsurpassed. I like riding my bike to the market, because you can sign up to win one of the monthly prizes they offer for using greener transportation. It's seriously fantastic, and this is coming from a Chicago girl who has never set foot anywhere near a farm, and used to think farms were "icky," it gives me a whole new appreciation for the hard work and passion these men and women put into their products. Not to mention the delicious dishes I can come up with using the freshest ingredients.

I'm obsessed with the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market, and I can't believe it took me so long to go to it! I could spend hours walking around. There are so many great booths offering local food and goods! Some of my favorites are the jalapeño popper dip from Dark Side of the Spoon(deliciously spicy), the Chèvre with herbs from Caprini Creamery(one of the best goat cheese I've had), and the spicy tomato jam(great on burgers and as an addition to charcuterie plates) from Home Ec. Preserves! I suggest going hungry! They have breakfast pizza, tacos, and freshly baked goods! You can eat a fabulous breakfast while you're shopping!
