I’ve lived at Broadcast for almost 5 years and, until January 2024, it was by far the best rental experience I’ve had. At the start of 2024, the building owners switched to a new property management company (Madrona) and the experience has taken a steep nose dive. Where we once had a very responsive onsite management team, now there MIGHT be someone in the office for a couple hours 1-2 days per week. There also used to be daily janitorial staff, but that seems to have been reduced to once per week. Whomever handles the trash and recycling keeps leaving the back gate open, and the new management company sends out condescending and infantilizing emails about the building and ongoing issues - like the door alarms in the garage that are constantly going off because of bad signage that doesn’t tell people the doors are not entrances. Instead of just saying there’s an issue they don’t know how to fix it, but are working on it, they will blame the old management company for small issues or claim that something is faulty when it’s not. Most recently, all guest parking was leased out to Duolingo on weekdays with no notice, meaning we no longer have a parking solution in the building if we have guests on weekdays. This happened almost immediately after management sent out a condescending email to say that guests have to pay for parking (which has always been the case). The only bright side is that the maintenance staff are phenomenal and extremely responsive, and the woman that’s been in the leasing office on weekend days has been very pleasant and helpful. Management, on the other hand, might want to consider a new career. I seriously regret renewing my lease for another year and cannot wait to move. Please think twice before moving into this building. Update 5/2024: I’ve lowered my rating to one star after Madrona tried to intimidate me for posting an honest review. I do not trust this company and discourage anyone from renting through them.

In early June 2023, I paid a $300 holding deposit for an apartment application here. My application was processed by Mia Hernandez, but after reaching out multiple times over the next few weeks, I never received any additional communication from Broadcast. I withdrew my application and signed a lease with another place. I was assured the holding deposit would be mailed to me; it allegedly was mailed but I never received it. I walked to Broadcast a few weeks ago to follow up on the matter as they did not return any phone calls (5+ calls with voicemail messages left & ignored) or emails (I can provide proof to management upon request). Johnny Olivares apologized and voided the check they allegedly sent to me (as it was sent to an invalid address). Johnny Olivares then proceeded to assure me that he reissued a check to the correct address I provided to him in person. Weeks later, no check arrived and I am, once again, struggling to get in touch with anyone here. I do not recommend leasing from such a shady apartment complex.

Nothing but good things to say about Johnny and the other staff members of Broadcast. They have always been very friendly, helpful and fun to talk to. Big shoutout to them and the amazing view from the rooftop!

My initial review was that the leasing agent seemed disinterested, but the manager reached out to me to inquire more about the situation and apologize. This is great customer service, so we'll definitely keep Broadcast on our list for future apartment searches.

Pros: -Nice, high ceilings; very open and expansive - never feel cramped -Building has a boutique/bespoke feel -If your apartment is south-facing, your view (in the warmer seasons) is lush, green, mature trees in the park across Madison. If you're west-facing, downtown views -Beautiful rooftop with great views of downtown and Mt. Rainier -Finishes are nice; especially love the bathroom's aesthetic -Property managers and staff are all really genuine and helpful -Proximity is really good; a couple/few blocks from a lot of bars/restaurants/services -Other tenants are generally very friendly; even during COVID, there's a good sense of community -Parking spots are generally pretty spacious; midsize sedan fits into a compact spot easily Cons: -If I had to nitpick, this building could use two elevators; often a bit of a wait, but hallways are comfortable (air conditioned) so not a huge deal -Nitpick again, countertops in kitchen and bathroom stain easily; tiny bit of candle wick soot, any tomato-based sauce, and coffee / coffee grounds all take ages to get out Overall, highly recommend this building. Have lived in about five newer-construction apartment buildings in Seattle and this is definitely a winner.

I have lived here for 3 years and I have no complaints. Location is excellent and the building is gorgeous. Johnny and Mia (the property managers) are fantastic and help any time there are issues.

Way over priced for what you get. Units are not made with quality, falling tiles, poor insulation, broken elevator, garage alarm always being set off, non-efficient package delivery system, disagreeable building manager all with no TV in the one bonus room. I will say Madison the assistant manager is really great to interact with. This seems to be a very transient building, most tenets I met lived there for one year. So many amazing options on where to live, this is at the bottom of my list of recommendations.

Current tenant. Of the problems we’ve raised, a small leak and AC install that went on for a couple of weeks, the management team has provided flawless support. Really, I can’t say enough for how Keith approaches his role as a Community Manager. Fast response, thoughtful follow up, and a cupcake or two here and there. The grounds are well-maintained. The units are modern. Add to that the rooftop and locale, and it’s a great place to live. And we got a ton of incentives to move in. Score! While we miss Bryan, we’re sure Keith/BT will bring in someone equally capable. Of the handful of neighbors we’ve meet, people are generally approachable. In that Seattle way.
