In Missouri for the week for work, a friend suggested we randomly pick a place... so here we are, I didn't look at reviews before goi g which is a first.
You walk downstairs to the entrance.l, it was a really cool, kind of dark atmosphere. Servers were really friendly, and attentive.
The have a list of their drafts which I never heard of so this was a treat. I ordered the Double Rye IPA. 9% it was a great flavor, hoppy but smooth. I had a couple more as well. I wanted to try another one but this was perfect and didn't want to mess with it. They do offer flights as well which is always fun.
For food we decided to share some starters.
Buffalo wings- these were a major disappointment, not crispy, borderline undercooked (they weren't but def not cooked as they should be) at least that's whet the texture was like. They just had that rubbery chewy feel. No crispness at all.
We tried the cheese curds, these were awesome, they came with a red sauce which I've never had like that, I actually dipped them in one of the other sauces we had. I would get these again, crispy, but gooey on the inside.
Next up, the smoked trout hush puppies!! AMAZING!! Loved these , came with a remoulade which I dipped the curds in too!!
I ordered the Canadian, this was good but way to greasy. I get it's bacon, bacon, onion etc.. but it's like the bread was dipped in melted butter or oil on both sides before making.
The pasta with mushrooms was good as well, I didn't try i it but my co-worker did.
I'd be back for the beer and a few things, maybe order the wings cooked well next.
Over all a good time.
