Broadway Pizza

Without a doubt, the best pizza in the 901 (Memphis). If you want a true sausage pizza pie, this is the spot. Full of flavor and cooked just right. Well worth the money, especially when there is plenty to take home.

If you are in the Memphis area, you have to check out Broadway Pizza it is the best pizza in Memphis by far. The pizza was extremely executed to perfection. Never in a million years would I think Tennessee would have the, "The best pizza ever!" Ordered around the world for everyone and a small Hawaiian for myself for the second day; and the pizza was spot on again.

Made a late decision to try a different pizza restaurant and the Legendary Broadway Pizza did not disappoint. We had two excellent pies made on time with plenty of tasty toppings. The brownies were similarly excellent. We will be back!

1st time visiting Love the Taste of pizza will visit again.

Food: I had pizza. Take out. Received lukewarm pizza definitely not hot. Tons of sauce which is flavorless. It's more like Tomato paste than anything else. No Italian seasoning or anything that I could taste. Tons of cheese. The cheese appeared to have seasoning sprinkled on it. Also, it seems like artificial garlic butter was brushed on top after baking. Overall, I found it to be very flavorless. Lots of cheese but very greasy. It was so greasy it almost hurt my stomach. Service: despite it being slow and after lunch, no one greeted me. They were huffing about the phone ringing and after answering that, they finally turned their attention to me. It then took 2 more people to get me rang up and someone else to go get my pizza. The pizza was lukewarm at best. They need to work on their timing of orders or preservation of food temp. You could have easily sat the pizza on the oven if you don't have hot bags to maintain temp. It's a shame because it looks like a cool place but I will not be back. Especially with the price. I get better service and quality at dominos. They even say hello and stuff. Man. What a fail for you guys.

My fiancée had this pizza months ago with a friend when she was in the area. EVERY time we’ve been in the area since it’s all I’ve heard about. It was about $60 through DoorDash but I was like just get it because I’m tired of hearing about it! Needless to say she is very happy now and I got to try it. I really liked it for sure. Not really my favorite style of pizza as I like more sauce and cheese but they really load up the toppings! I don’t see how anyone could complain as the quality and such is there. I won’t be ordering it very often but it’s definitely a treat for sure.

MY SISTER, HER DAUGHTER, MY DAUGHTER, MY NEPHEW, MY GRANDSON, AND I VISITED THERE FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE MEAT LOVERS PIZZA LOOKED SO GOOD AND APPETIZING, BUT ALL WE COULD TASTE WAS THE CHEESE AND THE SAUSAGE, THE OTHER MEATS NO SEASONINGS!!😒😒

We had 7 people in our party for lunch so I wasn't too surprised when gratuity was added automatically (15%) but that waitress with glasses was super slow. We had to continuously ask for the same things before getting them, she was on her ear piece talking half of the time she was serving us, the wings were fried in old grease (I know old grease when I taste it),ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT SHE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL 3 DOLLARS FOR GRATUITY AFTER AUTOMATICALLY TAKING 15%! DO BETTER! She didn't deserve the 15% she charged, then she STOLE an additional 3 dollars! It's not the money, it's the principal. I stopped eating here years ago and I see why! NEVER AGAIN!

I've wanted to try Broadway Pizza for years as it has been a Memphis pizza staple for so long. I ordered the 12" vegetarian pizza which was much larger than 12" inches -- not a bad thing if you have a big appetite or can take leftovers to go. The toppings were generous and flavorful. All of the veggies were fresh and balanced well against the slightly sweet tomato sauce. The crust was thicker side of the "thin and crispy" category. Overall, there was nothing inherently wrong with the pizza. It just didn't have any flavors that made it stand out from something I would find in the grocery store. We waited a lot longer for our pizza than anticipated, especially since the restaurant was so empty, but I'm assuming the kitchen was busy with delivery ordered. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The inside could use a refresh. It's dated and rough around the edges, but not in an endearing, old-school pizza joint way. Just repainting the sky blue walls would be a huge step. I wouldn't rush back to Broadway Pizza if I had a hankering for pizza, but it's fine in a pinch.

Went to lunch Thursday with a friend. Had a great time. Our server Sherita was so nice and kind. We ordered the catfish and the entree came with fries, side salad and hush puppies. I ordered a side of cole slaw. The cole slaw was not very good at all. Too much mayonnaise and the taste was not very good. The catfish was very tasty. The french fries were really crunchy and hot. The hush puppies had flavor but fried a little bit too much for me. The decor is like a diner. We sat in a booth in the dine in area. It seemed to be clean and cozy. I may go back to try the pizza and other items. Many people picked up some to go orders.

This place is amazing and has accommodations for large groups. We brought 20 and they rocked us. From salads to sandwiches to pizza we did.

Kids liked the pizza I did not. Extremely heavily on the sausage and I didn't like the flavor. 4/10 Fried green tomatoes sat in grease but they were good 6/10

The service here is unbelievable and Nonexistent! ! Will never come back here ! Pizza sucks also ! Frozen pizza is better than this shit ! The ambiance is from 1977 also dirty and in a hot mess from the front door to the kitchen ! Good luck

I go to broadway every time I'm back home. I'm surprised to see the low rating but then again I'm always expecting a bit of a wait - more time for a beer at wiseacre and never not worth the wait in my experience I'll also admit that I order the same every time I go, and since I was a young teen - its the sausage n mushroom yall, all day every day.... Never disappoints! I've had cake and fried maters before, too. Both were good but I def go back for that mushroom sausage pie

The pizza was made to order. So, it was hot cheesy and delicious. It was an order placed over the so someone else picked it up for me.

Horrible service !!!! Do not come here. They tell you a 15 my. Wait I've been waiting for almost a hour now. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyways

I do not know why this place does not have higher ratings. They pile each pizza with toppings. I love the Meat Lovers and All Pig. Ask for olives and peppers. It will take 45 minutes to 1 hour to cook each pizza.

Spent $130 and out of 4 people no one liked anything we got. Service was pretty good.. sausage on the pizza taste aweful and they put pieces the size of a golf ball on there. Not saying it's a bad place... I just ain't comin back... and they automatically add 18% tip if you eat there just sayin.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes and bbq shredded pork pizza. Both were made order and tasted fresh. Kind server.

Got a 12" pepperoni pizza. Lots of cheese. Sauce tasted like tomato soup though. Service was good for my experience. Food came quick. Liked the restaurant overall, but the food was not good.

One word...DELICIOUS!!! We had 3 types of pizza including pepperoni, cheese, and meat lovers. They all taste wonderful. They had just the right balance of ingredients. I could taste the goodness all the way through. The meat lovers is my favorite. The crust was baked to perfection. The meat was blended in well with the cheese and pizza sauce. The staff there was wonderful! I went to order pizza a few hours before an event and they came through. The staff was super friendly. I can't wait to have some more/ Unbelievably, that was my first time having pizza from them, but it surely won't be the last, ha!

Absolutely the worst pizza I've ever had. Toppings do not stay on. And I don't know what kind of crust they use but it's horrible.

This is one of the most delicious pizzas ever. Really great sauce, quality and tasty toppings. Really really good- would 100% order again. I don't know that I would eat at the restaurant bc it was very loud, disorganized and the phone ringing nonstop was annoying. So no ambiance. But the pizza is so good- I would most definitely order the pizza again- probably take out bc it's good- but it was a long wait and very loud.

This review is more about the service than the food. Food was amazing and what I thought it would be. Service on the other hand, terrible, where do I start? My parents arrived shortly before four. I arrived shortly after. There was there tables being used two of which left shortly after. Our server was on the phone talking with some or just messing ln it. Wasn't attentive and took forever to do or bring anything. Pizza took almost an hour to arrive with barely anyone in restaurant. Worse part about this was when I paid with cash, she never returned with my change without asking. The service is a huge part of any expletive and for that I rate this place two stars Food was 4.3 star

Not a fan. A big slab of sausage with a bland soggy crust. I was really hoping to find a good pizza place..still looking.

Second night in town and I was craving pizza and cinnamon rolls. The original choice of food that night that served both was closed upon me and my bfs arrival. So, we did a quick Google search and found Broadway Pizza. The pizza menu and sizes offered appealed to us. I order the chicken Pizza with everything on it. I opted to have to garlic butter on the same side. The ingredients were fresh and the chicken seasoned well.if I'm every back in memphis and want good pizza, I know where to go

I would not recommend Broadway Pizza to anyone of color. Very discriminatory and rude. Manager not willing to accept my form of payment and called the police on me. Black people BEWARE.

We ordered a chicken Parmesan and a 12 inch meat lovers pizza and let me tell you, This food has NO SEASONING!! The bread crust on the pizza was SUPPER bland, and soggy. The meat had no flavor whatsoever, And the toppings slid right off!! The chicken Parmesan was EXTREMELY dry and no flavor as well. In my opinion, this was extremely overpriced for the food quality we got I am really disappointed. Please save your time and money, and do not come here!!!

I'm grateful to have called in and waited an hour before pickup, line was long. Signs on the wall warn of them being "extremely understaffed" and it shows. Many people were sitting waiting and looks like there was 1 server for dine in folks. Parking at this location is better than Mendenhall, but make sure you give them extra time if picking up a call in.

This has been our favorite pizza in Memphis for years but man have they gone downhill. On more than one occasion have I been told 45 mins to an hour and get there and have to wait another 30 + mins. Same thing today and at 4:30 (not dinnertime) but the worst part is they bring out a completely burnt pizza. I am not paying $30 for a burnt pizza. Got a refund and will not get my wasted time back! Will not be going back! A. Short

We happen upon this because we were at the restaurant next door and all the men in the party was still hungry. So while I'm the restaurant they order a couple large meat lover pizzas. It was a wait but it's a Saturday and they have a steady flow of customers. Pizza was thick and piled with meats and cheese. Crust stayed supportive and held the toppings. They was FULL after this. Also they have the most delicious looking cakes displayed on the counter. Several varieties. A must try if we are ever in the area again!

Amazing pizza!! The Italian sausage and pepperoni is like no other. Sauce was delicious and crust was perfection. Definitely stop and eat here!! So good!

Shockingly bad. We waited for our pizza for over two hours in an almost empty restaurant. It took us 45 minutes even just to get our drinks. Once it hit 9pm, we asked them how much longer it would be. They said our pizza was "halfway done." At that, we left. There's no excuse. This is the only one star review I've ever given, and by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.

My family has been eating Broadway for over 25 years. Visiting Memphis today (My home town) IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE FAIL! I visited the Broad location & purchased a Beef all around the world pizza. Which by far was the WORST pizza I have ever had. I don't mind a little (Burnt). To spend the amount on the pizza I did & to get what I received in the box....All I can say is WHOEVER cooked and boxed it should be ashamed! Once again, it wasn't cheap!!!! I received a pizza in a box that could hardly close. Not everyone enjoys all that beef PILED so thick, that when you pick up a piece everything falls off the crust. Not to mention it was barely covered with cheese & the little on there was burnt! Nor did all that beef have a lick of seasoning. It was bland and the absolute worst!!!! The picture on the left is the pizza (from their site) that I was expecting to get, on the right is the TRASH that I paid my money for. I really paid for the box and all that flavorless beef that's piled on there. I am obviously still extremely upset.

The place I wanted to go to was closed so I came here instead. I had to wait to be acknowledged by anyone working, because it seemed as though the waitress felt finishing her conversation was more important. Whatever. I sat by the window, despite my irritation. I was given a menu and some time to look over it. No complaints there. I ordered a burger and fries, thought I probably should've gotten pizza considering the name. I waited for what seemed like 25-30 minutes for just a burger and fries. Mind you the restaurant was virtually empty. It seemed like there was an excess of staff so I don't understand why it took so long. I finally get my food, and it looked good. The burger was decent, but I didn't care for the bun too much. It was dry. The fries were ok, nothing to call home about. While I was eating, I could smell urine and it grossed me out. As I was attempting to finish my fries, I ate one that was rancid. Thus, I no longer had an appetite. The waitress disappeared before I could ask for my check. I started glancing around my immediate surroundings. I notice about three or four dead flies on the windowsill. No reason that couldn't have been cleaned during the day, because they weren't busy. Finally, the waitress reappeared, so I requested my check. She brought my check back, but at no point did she look up from her phone screen while interacting with me. Off putting. There also appeared to be a lot of people going in and out of the kitchen with no hairnets on. I used to work in food service, so that made me uncomfortable, too. Probably doesn't matter to them, but I will not be returning to this place.

My lasting impression of Broadway Pizza was that I didn't like the pizza and I thought it was way too overpriced and overhyped. I can't remember the exact reasons because it's probably been about 5 years and my memory only lasts about five minutes. Circumstances placed me here with this being the most convenient lunch spot. I looked the menu over for non-pizza options, so I went with a burger. This review is for the burger, and not the pizza. The menu caught my attention by saying it was nearly a pound. Well I called bullshit, because I didn't believe it. I do think the patty was 8-10 ounces though and that suits me just fine. The burger itself could have weighed nearly a pound, but not the beef. Why not just be honest about what it weighs? Well it was the perfect size for me, so no star deductions there. It appeared to be formed by hand instead of by a machine. That usually ensures that it wasn't frozen patties. It was cooked on a flat top griddle, which is not my favorite style, but it's a sure fire method to cook one. It wasn't seasoned much, if at all, which I find to be a good thing sometimes. I like the taste of beef. Why screw it up with too much salt? I forgot to ask for medium, so it was medium well. It wasn't quite as juicy as I'd prefer. That may have been because of the doneness or the fat content of the ground chuck. In spite of these small observances, it was still a damned good burger. I'm pretty sure it's a potato bun and it fit the meat well. I got nice leaves of iceberg rather than the shredded crap. They use red onions which are so much better than white or yellow. The double slice of American cheese made it nice and gooey. The lemonade was homemade and it's served in a to-go cup. They have the frozen variety of seasoned fries. All in all, a very good burger and I'd be willing to knock Kooky Canook, Big Al's, or Neil's out of my top ten list of Memphis burgers in favor of this one, maybe after I've had it a couple more times.

My husband loves Broadway Pizza, but, the quality of the food has diminished greatly. We placed a to go order, pizza w/extra sauce and a 6 piece whole wings. The pizza didn't have the extra sauce and the hot wings were cooked with a bunch of feathers and barely there sauce. The wings alone was over 20.00 and not edible due to all the feathers....NEVER AGAIN.

Déjà vu It has been a few years, but the 12" Broadway Special ($27.31) I picked up looked, weighed, & tasted exactly as I remember it. Mounds of Sausage, Ground Beef, Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, & Smoked Sausage over Pizza Sauce & Thin Crust ~ held together by Mozzarella & topped with Bell Peppers, Onion, Black Olives, & the best Mushrooms I have ever tasted on a Pizza . . . Definitely different Pizza that provokes strong opinions, particularly that Super-Loaded-But-Not-Cheap Special I just described. Broadway has definitely been doing some things right since 1977. And those Cakes . . . those Heavenly Homemade Cakes . . .

Veggies were pretty good, especially the peas, sweet potatoes, and green tomatoes (which made up for the "hot water cornbread". It was just good enough to make me come a second time, but only for their specialty, pizza. Chloe was our waitress. She is in training and did a great job. 1. Learn what hot water cornbread is. 2. Change the batter for the mushrooms to tempura so everyone with or without dental work can eat them without peeling the breading off & add horseradish. 3. The greens could use some seasoning, but I understand why your probably don't. The location is AWESOME!! It's across from the Water Tower in a quaint strip mall. The little novelty shop next door is a nice place to stop as well. Especially if you love dogs!! The ambiance is busy yet far enough away from the counters to be intimate. There are a couple of games and a side room which I will investigate on my next visit. *side note: I was told the sausage is pork sausage with THEIR Italian seasoning added to it. I will definitely go back to order a pizza before the summer ends and write another review.

A 24 dollar pizza that was ridiculous and unedable. I ask for a Pineapples, Pepperoni, and Sausage pizza which is my favorite in the world. The pizza took 45 minutes to make and was horrible. If restaurants have more than one sausge they should alert the customers. I described what I wanted and the lady at the counter acted clueless. I repeated my order again and she said ok. I also ask for garlic knots. Upon waiting for over 45 min. I receive a pizza in a dirty box like oil and dirt was on it. Pizza sauce on the bottom and top of the box. I went back in to get another box so I wouldn't mess up my truck. The lady at the counter acted as if I was a bother to her. I said thank you and she didn't even respond. When I got home over 20 miles away. I opened to enjoy what looked to be a pretty good size 24 dollar pizza. To my surprise it was trash. The pizza wasn't even connected to the topping or cheese. Then when I gave it a try anyway I bit into what seemed like a sausage Patti cluster... I ask for sausage , Pepperoni and pineapple! This was disgusting. I had to clamp the topping to the doe with my fingers and it was horrible. Unless they had a bad day I will never go back. And the garlic knots were; under cooked, cold, and chewy. Supposed to be fresh and crispy. My name is loco on my order and my phone number is 8702718622 if the manger wants to discuss this issue. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly but it didn't carry on to the staff. Really to be honest there wasn't a warm friendly person that worked there. I wish I could give this restaurant a better review but first impression or lasting.

Very good pizza place ( that does other things too) pretty killer burger too. It has a "dive" feel to it, and it's very Comfortable. Always busy so don't be in a big hurry. Great staff too.

This was our first time visiting and I was really hoping for a great experience. Understaffed is an understatement. Waitress told us the tap water was brown and to not drink, so we had to purchase $4 bottles of Kroger water. Waited over an hour for pizzas to come out and our guest who was visiting from out of town waited another 25 min for his pizza. We won't be returning.

I sorta ended up here by accident. It was kind of a long wait for the pizza, but I assume it's because they cook it fresh? I think a lot of people call in orders, because from ordering in I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Thankfully they do tell you this up front. I had my laptop with me to do some work and they do have free wi-fi here so if you're not in a hurry it's not a problem, but if you don't like waiting around I'd say just call ahead. Tbh I was sorta wary because this place just has average reviews on Yelp, but I had a local recommend this place to me glowingly so I really wasn't sure what to believe. The feel I get is that this place is definitely a much-frequented local joint. I was definitely pleasantly surprised when the pizza came out (see picture)! I don't know if it's just me, but I haven't had a pizza that looks like this before so it definitely LOOKED really tasty. And to be honest the pizza doesn't disappoint. It's a little difficult to eat with your hands haha, but it's a really tasty pizza. If you're looking for really polished service here, you might not get that but you can tell that some of the staff here really do try their best. A lot of hate from the other reviews seems to be because of the bad service, but I didn't think it was egregiously bad. I imagine just because it's more of a local joint it's not as formalized, but I wasn't necessarily put off by anything. (To be fair, there are plenty of ~local~ joints with stellar service, but I just didn't feel anyone here was intentionally lazy or rude on purpose). It is a bit pricey I think, at $15 for the pizza pictured, but it's definitely a good pizza and I wouldn't say it's not worth it.

Had a catered event with their yummy pizza. We had three different pizzas to choose from- I laid my eyes on the pepperoni and sausage and accepted that challenge! I've never seen a pizza with more meat in my life. I was sure the cheese and pepperoni were awesome, but I was in a mood for some meat! It didn't disappoint. I am not from the Memphis area, so I'd never even heard of them. It's a family run business already into their third generation. One of the owners personally delivered the pizza and spoke briefly to our group. I've got to go back and try the cakes he was telling us about. Fresh homemade cakes and gourmet pizza- how much better can life get!?!

This place tried to double charge me for a pizza that I already ordered and paid for!! The person that took the order even repeated the order to me, but when I arrived and paid they only brought out one pizza! I told her that I just paid for the food and even added 2 salads at the register. They told me I only ordered 1 pizza. The cashier even told the lady that I had a medium pizza too. I immediately asked for a refund. This location don't EVER have to worry about me coming back again!! Better yet, I'm done with the entire both restaurants!!!

Inattentive staff. Table next to us was never served. We got one round of drinks and were immediately forgotten about despite being 1 of two tables in the whole place.

Walked in and just about every table was dirty. We had to clear off a table to be able to sit. They told us they were short staffed and don't have a server for the night. We order 1 12 in pizza and fried okra. A group of 4 ordered after us and got most of their food before ours. It took an hour for the food to get to the table. The pizza was wrong. And could be better okra.

Pizza was average but I found a tiny spider crawling across the cheese after the pizza was pretty much already eaten

Don't go here the service is terrible and the wait time is horrible since they have been under new management w/a new staff......This place is nothing like it use to be....

I've been eating Broadway Pizza since the big guy in overalls sat in the back office. This was the 1st time I was not satisfied with my food. The service was terrible, the employees were not wearing mask in the kitchen, & the counter staff was looking for phone chargers instead of helping customers. There was a 2 or 3 year old sleeping in the office on 2 chairs pushed together... My pizza was brunt and not tasty at all. I hope the poor service & lack luster employees are the results of the pandemic. Hopefully things will get better & the original staff can return.

We went here last night for some wings and pizza. I will say, the service was fantastic. Once we sat down, our server was with us right away to give us menus and take our drink order. They had a couple local beers on draft, as well as several bottled beers. We decided to start with an order of wings and then ordered a small deluxe pizza. The hot wings we ordered were great! Some of the best we've had in Memphis so far honestly. They were of good quality and a good size with a nice flavorful hot sauce. The pizza however, was unfortunately one of the worst I've had. The crust was very hard, the sauce was watery and flavorless, and the cheese was very salty and greasy. If Broadway pizza were a wing place, I'd give it higher stars, but being a pizza place, we were very disappointed considering the price. We may be back for their wings, but we won't be giving their pizza another try.

It's a different style pizza but I loved it my husband grew up in Memphis and I've never been so he took me to this spot I will just say i haven't had pizza this great since I was a kid amazing worth it.

I haven't eaten a Broadway Pizza in years. Years being since I was child because I never liked the meat on meat on meat pizzas my family ordered. Note: I am now a vegetarian lol. Anyway, we stopped into Broadway after leaving City & State's birthday party and ordered the vegetarian pizza with both the house red and garlic sauces. Y'all, it was so good! Like, I wish I could retroactively go back and share a slice with each and every one of you. The pizza was perfectly cooked with crispy edges and a well done but gooey center. The cheese blend was amazing, the veggies delicious, and oh my goodness what are the spaces they top their pizzas with because I want it on everything! My apologies for doubting your yumminess, Broadway. TL;DR: Order the veggie pizza with red and garlic sauce then live your best life.

Ordered a pizza from the Mendenhall location. They did not include the olives and peppers that you usually get. Man behind the counter told us that those were free and he didn't have to give them to us and if we didn't like it we should find another place to get our pizza from, we did. Won't go back there ever

The Broad store/restaurant was very disappointing. The service was slow for the size of the crowd ( 5 tables occupied). We ordered 4 wings and a 16" pizza. The wings came out cold and the fries were hot. The guy took the wings and brought out the same wings just a little bit warmer. The female service asked if we ordered a 9 or 16" pizza. I told her a 16". She place a 9 instead of a 16". She went to correct the error. 40 mins later I asked about the pizza, because we were ready to leave. She went to check on the pizza and stated it will be ready in 4 mins. She apologize for the delay and said she would talk to the manager about discounting the order. The manager refuse to discount anything. His reason was that the average time for food on Friday & Saturday was 1-2 hours. There were people who received their pizzas who came in after us and had already left. Don't recommend.
