Best Atlanta Bars and Restaurants for Bingo | Eater Atlanta

"Broken Anchor Winery combines the best of multiple worlds — the robust selection of independent wines is complemented by a full bar and the more casual atmosphere found at a utilitarian bar. The fully stacked events calendar here typically makes room for two Friday bingo nights monthly, both classic and themed (think pj party, music, and luau). Bingo nights aren’t on a regular schedule, so check Broken Anchor’s calendar for new dates." - Sarra Sedghi

Do not recommend on a busy night. They are understaffed and underprepared. We waited an hour for drinks and food, and they ran out of burgers which is half of the entree options to start with. Our food was good (very average). The drinks were pretty good but considering this is a bar that’s the bare minimum. This place has potential but definitely needs work. Edited to add after the reply from the owner: they hosted a trivia event this night that started at 7, so it’s common sense that there will be a lot of people arriving right before said event starts. It was exactly 1 hour from the time we walked in to the time we got our food, so no that’s not an exaggeration. There’s also no reason not to be prepared for something you are specifically promoting whether that’s an event or drink promotion. I understand it’s a busy season, but this was an honest review from a paying customer.

Google
Driven by this place countless times and I am kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. GREAT place for a drink and some delicious bites. Shout out Emily and Evie for amazing service! Bonus points for being Veteran owned and operated.

Google
We love this place! Owned and operated by a fellow veteran and they welcome and appreciate everyone. We love their bacon cheeseburger with their signature anchor sauce. What I love most about this place is the welcoming atmosphere. The owner is always there it seems and makes sure to say hey and thank to all of his patrons. They have lots of different events scheduled throughout the week, like trivia and comedy shows. We just joined their “Beer Experience” club, which is such a great idea. We are glad to have found this little gem in our community.

Once again, Brunch on Sunday is full of menu surprises, easy dining, and a nice change of atmosphere and pace. Emily made sure everything was excellent, and responded to our frequent requests for something else. The red-jacketed dog with tricorn hat is my favorite btw! We epically enjoyed the BELT sandwich, and the grits are really phenomenal with a softer texture and amazing flavors, and if you want a starter I can recommend the bread and seasoned Olive Oil, and the rich tomato bisque soup. Relax, enjoy the pace, and check out the portraits. Great fun! Enjoy!!!

Google
Had an awesome time at Broken Anchor Winery with the crew. Staff was super friendly, the wine was flowing, and the food was solid. We’re not from the area but always try to hit local spots when we travel and this place definitely delivered. Can’t wait to swing back through next time we’re in town.

Google
We were looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday! Broken Anchor was perfect! Delicious craft cocktails, great range of draft and craft beers, and food/appetizers menu that looks and tastes "gourmet"! No surprises! Broken Anchor is a great night out! Enjoy!

Google
I love this place and not every dining experience there knocks my socks off however the food/drinks are delicious and I love all the events they do it's a great, chill place to hangout with friends the staff always does their absolute best with what they've been given esp on busy nights when guests all walk in at the same time Loose Lips is my favorite wine I will say I wish they had more lighter or grilled options like grilled tenders but I always find something to eat that fits within my dietary requirements overall this is one of my fave establishments and our group will be back for Christmas Vacation trivia 🎅🎄

Google
LOVED it!!! Great local winery offering a full bar as well! Wine and whiskey flights available. Live Music on Fridays and Saturdays. Brunch on Sundays. And if you're still on the fence, I have two words for you : Drunken Brownies! Full disclosure, we had just eaten lunch so we didn't actually try them, we were focused on sampling their spectacular wines. BUT we'll be back, appetites at the ready!!!

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and didn't even realize I haven't left a review The food and service are hit or miss. They seem to have a really high turnover and it's a small owned shop. When they're busy, your orders can take an hour and 30 mins between drinks The staff is all super friendly but everyone seems new both times I've been here and nobody has any idea about the menu which I think is a training problem. Everyone was very willing to answer questions or to get me answers but it was wild to me neither of our servers could tell me what the shamrock pie special was or if it was in stock before literally going into the kitchen to find out. They also didn't know the pimento balls were out of stock until after we ordered them. They do a ton of fun events and that's why I keep coming back and my husband loves the whiskey selection but the food situation is weird. We got the lasagna and fried pickles this time and I liked both! I do wish the pickles were less salty but they had a great texture which was more important to me The lasagna was good but I don't know if I would call it lasagna. It was a huge bowl of meat sauce with uncooked mozzarella on top and lasagna pasta on the bottom with a little ricotta? I mean, it was good but it was kinda chaotic My friends always get the chicken Caesar wrap and they love that. The shamrock pie was a miss for me. It was served still frozen and that gave it an icy texture that just wasn't pleasant. The server hyped up the brownie/ice cream sundae but we usually try to get something more unique so we went with the shamrock. Maybe we should've got the brownie but tbh I don't really like brownies so maybe not ha. I wanted the bread pudding but that was last week's specialty. I got the strawberry beer mocktail and it's my favorite of their mocktails. I've only been here while pregnant so not sure how the cocktails are but my husband said their whiskey selection is solid! I will be back for the events but I'm still not a huge fan of the food and I know it's a bar but the food is important too!

Yelp
I was here with a meetup group for music bingo. Music bingo was a lot of fun. Everyone plays on their phone and has a chance to win. Don't worry if you don't know the song they show you the name in the app. our waitress was nice but didn't know a lot about the food since she was new. Overall the food was ok. I was disappointed in the egg-rolls. Well really with the sauce they came with.. it was like a consommé... something you can dip a sandwich not egg rolls!! They were a little better with bbq. Also I ordered parm garlic chicken tenders, granted the tenders are huge, but I was surprised they didn't come tossed in the sauce. That did throw me off for a min. The wine was good. I would recommend doing the sampler.

Yelp
We always enjoy a night cap with the girls @ the Anchor. A lot of fun activities on certain days- follow their pages and check out what they have to offer.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have a cute little winery close to home! Plenty of parking available outside (shared plaza parking lot). We entered and walked directly up to the bar and the young bartender was super sweet and helpful. He gave us a menu that had everything laid out so well - it made it very easy to choose what to drink! The wine was delicious and wow, the bruschetta was SO good! Can I order one to go? LOL! They had a space full of games to grab and bring to your table or seating area. My husband and I truly enjoyed hanging out, having a drink and playing a game. It happened to be poker night but it wasn't too wild in there even though the tables were filling up. Great place to check out! We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink and a bit of chow on a Saturday evening. Pleasant people and a pretty decent vibe for being in a strip mall. Had a couple of decent drafts, not a great selection but it is a wine bar. Ordered the Margherita flatbread, it was average. Noting great, but not horrible. Mostly just tasted like a big mound of cheese, no nuance. Wife ordered a veggie platter which was pretty good despite some of the cucumber slices being of questionable freshness. Decent live music and a very pleasant waitress made this a four star.

Yelp
Well I've visited Broken Anchor for the third time now since two years ago. This time to have brunch as they have a kitchen now. Menu had a nice selection but no wait staff you order from the bartender at the bar. I ordered the Tex-Mex scramble which is exactly what it looked like. Half like an omelet and half a bunch of veggies in scrambled eggs not very appetizing. Eggs had a grey tone to them. Taste was ok but the consistency was mushy. Very wet barely cooked eggs. I got one tortilla and was grate so I could make small bits and take away from the mushiness. Others ordered other things and they seemed to enjoy it. I'm happy they finally put up some curtains to soften the place and have it more inviting than the cold feel it had originally. Two others did a wine tasting with 5 wines. They loved the wine. If I get invited to another meal there maybe dinner next time I'll go to check it out but wouldn't rush to get there again any time soon. I see they are trying. I'm glad they finally

Yelp
We just visited this location. We spent 10 minutes at the bar being ignored. We stood in the line that said "order here". No one approached us. Found a bar stool. No one acknowledged us. Finally, just walked out. We came from the city of Atlanta to experience a new place. Such a HUGE disappointment.

Yelp
The service was AWFUL! We were one of three groups in the restaurant and our waiter would not pay us any attention. They instead would rather sit at the bar and enjoy themself. Will not return!

Yelp
What a fantastic place. Service was amazing. All the food we ordered were amazing. The samosas were amazing. Love this place and will definitely be going back.

Yelp
The place is pretty cool. Walk in and seat yourself. It's not a very big place but it's geared toward the entire family. They have plenty to drink there and the prices are reasonable. The food is ok. I got the Philly cheese steak it was ok. My wife got the California chicken flat bread I thought that was pretty good. It seems that every night has something going on which is really cool. The customer service was very good. I recommend checking the place out

Yelp
Absolutely the most fun I've had in Georgia. Amazing service and so much knowledge of local wine and whisky. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting! So many activities going on and such a versatile space. I'm from out of town and plan to travel back to share this gem with friends and family! Thank you to the Broken Anchor crew for having me in and helping me have such a wonderful experience tasting and talking! Cheers.

Yelp
Josh and Co. do a great job creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food menu changes are an overall improvement.

Yelp
Really disappointed in this place. I was really looking forward to enjoying an evening with my coworkers at our Christmas gathering. Only to find out it had been cancelled due to a schedule conflict and they just up and cancel it because their friends wanted to rent the whole building for the same night. Money definitely does talk!

Kim J.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place for our annual work Christmas party but unfortunately our work party was canceled the week of. The owner has stated that there was no communication but that's not true. There are text messages to prove otherwise that date back to September. The owner was rude when confronted about it. If this is how they do business I can't imagine they will be around for long.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The owner canceled our staff Christmas party the week of because another person wanted to rent out the entire facility. There are messages with confirmation of booking back to September. Was looking forward to this time and supporting a local business but unfortunately that will not happen & I will not be supporting such customer service.

Barbara S.

Yelp
I have NEVER left a negative review for ANY business but this place does bad business. I booked a party room for a staff Christmas party back in August. I knew someone who worked there so I got the room for free with the understanding that they would get to cater the party. We have ordered over $500 worth of food and I'm sure hundreds more would have been spent on alcohol sales. I was called today (5 days before the party) by the owner and told that he rented the whole space out and we could no longer have our Christmas party there. I am extremely upset and disappointed. I now have to try to find an alternative place to have our staff party before Saturday. So if you ever book the place for a party, make sure you have an alternative location in case someone else offers to pay them more. BAD business.

Yelp
Acworth's best kept secret!!! Always fun and always good! And we just figured out they do breakfast! Wow!

Yelp
Less than two yrs ago.We were new to GA from South F.l. AS senior's ignored my both our families... this was a great place to make new connections, and common interest friends. if we gave replies we would enjoy meeting new friends.

Tina M.

Yelp
Super cute place! The food was so good. I'm a pizza snob so I didn't love the flatbread but these pimento balls, fries, and pretzel bites were AMAZING!!! Owner was super nice. We came for BINGO. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great food, good service, and fun live music. It's not the type of bat where you're inclined to socialize with other patrons, which may be attractive to some. More spread out restaurant style layout.

Yelp
Definitely a cute little place to hang out... On this particular night we went on comedy night and it needs a lot of tweaking. There was a lot of hackling from the audience that needed to be nipped in the bud by either the host or the comedians. A lot of talking in the audience which also needed to be curbed. The show was definitely an 18+ show and there were a couple of young adults under 18 in attendance which I'm sure made it awkward for them and their parents, So perhaps announcing that it is an 18+ show would be helpful. Their wine selection is not really great especially if you like dryer/and bold wines.

Yelp
Today we stumbled across a new favorite place for great atmosphere, fun and sweet staff, great drinks, and food. They offer a fun wisely club and have a lot of great activities such as comedy night, wine and painting, and poker nights. I can't wait to bring friends and family!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!!! It's become my go-to brunch place! The French Toast is excellent! My husband had the breakfast burrito today (he ate it before I thought to take a picture) and he said it was perfect!!! The atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful. Staff are very friendly, as well. The business is military-owned and the owners are very nice.

Yelp
Don't sleep on Broken Anchor Winery! Not only do they have a vast selection of wine, but they also have a huge selection of whiskey and bourbon. I had the dress blues flatbread and it was easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten.

Yelp
Great customer service, good wine and board games, you have to have the "loose lips" and "Khaleese"

Yelp
Not sure how this place isn't packed. Live music, good drinks, really liked the whiskey tastings, and nice owners. We had a chance to stop by for a glass of wine and were instantly hooked.

Yelp
This place COULD be awesome. My wife and I had a date night here and enjoyed the ambiance of the place. On the great side their wine is very reasonably priced, the girls behind the bar are awesome, and the decor is very well done. On the not-so-great side is their food menu. Way over priced 'flat bread's' are super tiny, and taste like they are slightly warmed up in the microwave. The charcuterie plates are pretty decent and fair priced. If they get the kitchen in order this place will be a regular haunt for us. For now, eat before you go.

Yelp
No complaints about the wine, food, or service. All was great, great place, and we will be back if one thing gets fixed. THE LIVE MUSIC! It was SO LOUD! We sat as far away from the speakers and our ears were still ringing when we left and even when I woke up the next day. The band was good but very unprofessional. They very obviously had friends and family come see them play but they were up and down from the stage. Standing in front of everyone conversing, doing shout outs as more of their crew walked in, and didn't care about the customers not family/friends with the band. It was treated like their own personal private party they were having. If I came back to see this happen again I would not be be back. We were surprised to see the place so empty so this unprofessional behavior and management of the entertainment might be a reason.

Yelp
Went to the sip and paint and it was so fun n great that I even decided to visit for brunch today. This place is a hidden gem!! The food was delicious and the people and the vives very welcoming....great varieties of drinks! Will definitely come back!!!

Yelp
Here for a birthday gathering & tried the 5 tastings for &5. I also tried the Salmon Dill Flatbread (What's the Dill) & it was amazinggggggg. Staff is super friendly and very open to explaining all of the wines for a wine rookie myself ! Will definitely come back for a date night or cute girls night.

Yelp
Nice place for variety of wines/cocktails/beers. And a plus; good variety of food is offered: appetizers, sandwiches, etc. While we enjoyed their trivia night out with friends, service was very slow on 6/23. There was only one waitress for the entire place. She said it was because owners were away on vacation which seems she told one of our friends when they went weeks before. Food was ok. We ordered a flat bread pizza which was served lukewarm We were given no napkins, small plates or utensils so we had to ask for them. By the time they were brought to the table pizza was nearly cold. No happy hours here with half price wines or drinks. Some cocktails are $14. They do offer nice variety of wines; glasses starting at $9. Decor is inviting. However, lightweight metal chairs uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. Female bartender was pleasant when spoken to but slow to greet or acknowledge us when taking seats at the bar upon arrival. We were interested to hear about their wines/cocktails being as it was our first time coming but she seemed preoccupied although bar was not busy at that time.

L T.

Yelp
We hosted a shower there this weekend. The owner went above and beyond with excellent food, mimosas, atmosphere and superior service. Great food and drink everyday. This restaurant is fast becoming a family favorite.

Yelp
Sat at the bar my first visit and got to meet the owners themselves. Josh and Tiffany were great at describing all of their wine/ drink selections and made our experience wonderful. The great wine was just a plus! I'll be a forever customer

Justin H.

Yelp
There was nothing that I disliked. All the wines we tasted are good and the place is very clean and organized. The owner was very nice and the bar is stocked full of beer and whiskey and wine. This place would be great for anybody to visit and enjoy.

Hunter C.

Yelp
Great selection of Whiskey and wine. The Owner and staff are pretty awesome and the atmosphere is very relaxing!
