"There aren't many better jewelry boutiques in the country: Offering a mix of new and estate pieces, the curation here is stunning, but also cool (sometimes a hard-to-accomplish feat). You'll find tiny little mixed stone rings from Mociun, huge diamond slice earrings, but Lito's bejeweled third eye pendants. The original is in the Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles."

Very long overdue review for Broken English. I have been coming here for years and I am still blown away by the stunning jewelry and the customer service I receive from Lauren. She is so lovely and she always helps order the pieces that I'm looking for if they don't have them in stock. Lauren is unbelievably patient when I'm struggling to make a decision in store and never ever pushes to make a sale. I feel so lucky to have such a great contact when I'm looking for something special! The store and Lauren are truly the best.

I’ve been a customer of Broken English for almost four years, first in Brentwood and now in NY (as I’ve moved to the east coast). The team is very helpful, and they have such a beautiful and unique collection. The boutique is also so beautiful, and it’s so fun to try on pieces there. While a clasp on my necklace did break, the team was very helpful in getting this fixed for me.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Lauren and Broken English. Not only did the pendant far exceed my expectations. Her communication and service was wonderful. On top of that she rushed the special order product so I could have it for a long trip. Would highly recommend and would absolutely shop here again!

The earrings we purchased were painful to wear. When we attempted to return them (a few days after the 14 day return window) for store credit, they refused the return. Inquiries to their leadership went unanswered.

Echo the below review, terrible customer experience. Bought three pieces of jewellery, Anna M who is their customer service manager (the only person working there) was terrible and unhelpful - refused to help me with my jewellery that were tarnishing and falling apartment after barely a month. I can't believe this company exists.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, cheap jewelry and RACIST STAFF. SMELLY STORE. Stay away! The owner and my ex employer threatened me after I posted a bad review for this jewelry store several months ago right here on Yelp, that’s the only thing you need to know about the integrity of this “company”

With Fragments now shuttered, Broken English is THE place to go for artisan made high karat gold jewelry. Prices are high, but you will find unusual pieces with a high degree of craftsmanship not found elsewhere. This is perhaps the best jewelry store on the planet, all tucked into a tiny location. Jewelry made and sold the old fashioned way.

My first impression of this little shop is that it has a certain unique charm to it. I've been to a couple of jewelry stores in my time, but this one feels noticeably different from the moment you step through it's doors. The jewelers (Graciela in particular) were friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable about the wide variety of products in their store. Both were extremely helpful when it came to showing my friend and I several pieces that we had seen online. One of the pieces that caught my attention was a gold ring with a sleek cheetah design that I fell in love with immediately. If love at first sight was appropriate for jewelry. I wouldn't hesitate to use it to describe this piece. It's a Iosselliani cheetah head ring (18K gold-plated silver). Appearance wise, it's an instant eye-catcher, and it's undoubtedly going to be a conversation starter once I slip it on my finger. If I simply described the ring as gorgeous, it would be an understatement of blasphemous proportions. My friend tried on a few different rings that intrigued her. She liked the 'feel' of the Gobi Brass ring the most overall and told me she was considering coming back on our next visit to purchase it. It's definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area. I initially discovered this boutique thanks to Genevieve Padalecki (a very talented actress and blogger who has a soft spot for this particular jeweler). Genevieve is a big fan of the bold gold jewelry in this shop and after seeing this enchanting little treasure trove for myself. I can honestly see why it was on her list of top shopping boutiques to visit in New York.

Yelp
Last July, I purchased a pair of gold Ear Hoops from the Broken English store. The earrings were beautiful, and the in-store service was good when making the purchase. The store itself is nice. The earrings were a birthday gift for me. However, I am quite disappointed with the quality. Despite not wearing them every day, I noticed dents appearing on the earrings. It's possible that one of the dents occurred while traveling on an airplane in my sleep. I reached out to Broken English support and provided them with photos of the damage. Unfortunately, they responded by saying they couldn't help. Given my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing a product from Broken English. The quality of their products does not match expectations, and their customer service is unhelpful.

Yelp
Rude staff didn't even acknowledge our presence and when I asked for help she put her finger up condescendingly. I waited 15 more minutes with not as much as a "I'll be right with You." Will never walk in ever again.

Yelp
Warning- if you are looking for good quality jewelry: do not buy from Broken English. Their products are extremely poor quality despite the price points. We had a pair of earrings which came apart within weeks. The store was deliberately unhelpful despite this being a clear manufacturing fault and they demanded payment even to look at the items.

Yelp
I did not have a great experience here. Yes the staff was nice but that's my only compliment. I went in and found a EF Collection ring I liked. They didn't have my size so they said they'd get it from their other store. They then emailed to say it was in. I even called to confirm it was the right ring, which they assured me it was. I went in and nope, wrong ring. They apologized and said they'd fix it. Strike #1. They then emailed again a week later and said they got the right ring in. Right ring, wrong size. Strike #2. I bought it anyway since they said I could get it sized and I really like it. Anyway, it's way too big. I called and asked to have it sized. They quoted me some amount, which I responded "you ordered the wrong size why should I pay to resize it?". They said they'd check and see if there was anything they could do and get back to me. I never heard from them again (that was over the summer)- strike 3. They carry other designers jewelry which you can honestly get other places for a better deal and much better service.

Yelp
I was in Ny and stumbled upon this amazing jewelry store. Unique pieces and great customer service. This will be my go to when in NY.

Yelp
the redhair manager saw i was browsing and interested in some pieces but disregarded me! as soon as white people came in she was a ray of sunshine :)!

Yelp
Sold me a bracelet with a clear design flaw. I tried wearing it for a year and it just kept falling off. Eventually I said this needed to be repaired. They tried to repair it twice and couldn't do so. Eventually they said it was damaged beyond repair. It was never damaged. Everyone in the store agreed it was a design flaw. After a year, I have a $7000 that can't be worn and could never be worn,. Wouldn't offer refund or exchange. Good to show they stand by their product. The bracelet was clearly defective but they didn't care. Used to go in and buy all the time! Never again! Too bad because they have great designers but they don't stand by their products. Jewelry is supposed to last for longer than a year!

Yelp
Fabulous jewelry selection - I found my engagement ring here. They have an amazing curation of designer and vintage, and the saleswoman who I worked with (Izzy, who is unfortunately no longer there) was AMAZING. The store has a great vibe, its a beautiful shop, with beautiful and unique offerings. Definitely one of my favorite jewelry stores in the city.

Yelp
Ok, this place is unbelievable. I am picky beyond words. I usually can not find 3 things in a jewelry store I like. I have only been buying a special curated line from Florence for the past few years. My girlfriend brought be to this place and I saw at least 20 things I would have purchased. I will for sure be back. I would highly recommend this store!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful little gem in the midst of SoHo with a carefully curated selection of jewels. They have some of my favorite designers that are super hard to find anywhere else, as well as some less known designers with great talent! All that brought me to the store, but what made me come back is their impeccable customer service! Lindsey went above and beyond to make sure I was helped, answered all my questions, wasn't pushy at all and even had a couple pieces over nighted to the store so I could look at them - and she kept me up to date the entire time through email. I can't recommend Broken English enough:)

Yelp
Broken English is by far my favorite jewelry store in New York. They have an extremely wide selection of designers and which makes it easy to find a great piece no matter what you're looking for. A great spot to find a treat for yourself or a gift for someone else, and the staff is always very helpful!
