North Carolina Bars Serving Bombay Sapphire Cocktails | Eater

"Broken Promises in South End boasts a sultry, vogueish design, with black velvet couches, eye-catching chandeliers, and graphic art plastered on the walls. This part-lounge, part-club is 25+, so it provides a more grown-up air than the majority of South End clubs swimming with college kids and post-grads. The spot stays consistently busy, as it hosts LGBTQ-friendly events, plenty of half-off drinks evenings, and a no-cover Wednesday." - Kayleigh Ruller

Raise a Toast to Bartenders With Tequila Cocktails at These North Carolina Bars | Eater

"Broken Promises, Lost & Found’s moody older sister, gives the same here-for-a-good-time vibes, but in a slightly more intimate space, with a sultry metropolitan-inspired orange and red wallpaper, and black velvet and leather lounges. Tuesdays at this spot promise either a Tequila Tuesday or an LGBTQIA + night. Or both for double the fun? Ask for Teremana in the elderflower tequila cocktail or NC’s own amaretto liqueur cocktail. This equal parts dance and lounge spot with nightly DJs in Southend usually has a food truck on site to satiate late night cravings, too." - Vox Creative

This was my second time coming to this Lounge/Bar place! Came on a Sunday at 6 pm for their "Vibras Sunday." Fairly empty when we arrived but it was fine by us! Loved the ambiance and decorations. Open floor plan with a few lounge seating selections. I LOVED that you did not have to pay to sit at a table. It was all for grabs first come, first serve. It was very refreshing as we did not feel like standing the whole time. Now, the DJ, unfortunately, was not playing a whole lot of Spanish music, which was a bummer as that is specifically why we went. When he finally did, it was ok but not the best. Employees and bartenders were super nice and respectful. Never had an issue. We left around 9:30 p.m., and it was starting to pick up a bit, but either way, I LOVED that it wasn't crowded. Will definitely come back for sure.

Went here to celebrate my 30th birthday with a few friends. We were able to reserve a table easily through their Instagram page. They DO NOT offer food, but we were able to order from a restaurant and bring it in. All the staff, super nice. I do remember one staff member that was PRETTY AWESOME, his name is Dale. He was super attentive and made sure my party and I were good! He honestly went about a beyond we moved to the patio area there was maybe one chair out. Dale and another member brung us more to the patio. Definitely will be coming back!

Atmosphere and drinks were good on saint patricks day, but I was charged 19 dollars for one vodka red bull. They put a 20 percent tip onto your bill without telling you. Definitely will not be returning due to that lack of honesty

Went with a friend, ordered a long Island tea, Love (10/10 recommend if you like fruity almost fruit nectar juice, I requested extra sYrup) and I believe the 3rd drink was [mad world.] It was a great vibe, they were playing Dragon ball z on one screen and some movie on another; dj had a great mix even some Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny and Kali Uchis <3 very aesthetic place from the decor and lights to the bathrooms which were really clean and cool (perfect for selfies but be quick bc only 1 stall) but yeah staff was super nice and they include a gratuity in the tab which I loved, plus whatever else you wanna add. I absolutely will come back I loved it here! *also they have hookahs and had a hookah special this day but idk about it sorry

Nice atmosphere with very cool decor. Not too big in the inside. Nice size. Drinks were ok. The staff was very kind to us. Walked right in and sat down on a Saturday afternoon. I'm assuming that's the best time to go if you don't want to get stuck on a line and have to wait to get in.

I was invited here tonight for the media private preview event. Super cute inside . The drinks were great , the staff was super attentive . Another great addition to the south end area . Broken Promises is giving me very much New York lounge vibes . Definitely worth checking out guys .

I love coming here to get away from the young crowd in our city. The drinks are really great, so great that you get drunk quickly haha! The staff is super friendly and the owner is ALWAYS there making sure everyone is taken care. Love that! And yes, this place is small but if we keep supporting perhaps they could open up a bigger one: positive thinking, guys!

Google
Want to like this place but the level of loud that they are is unreal. You can’t hardly hear someone next to you all the way by sycamore, much less going inside the building. No wonder everyone before me gave this place a 3.6.

Yelp
We were looking for a nighttime venue for Saturday night. You had to make the reservation in advance of going to the venue for bottle service. The reservation information was very detailed. It informed you of the maximum number of people per table and the minimum spend. When we arrived we were taken to our table. We wanted to order the Teremana, but it was sold out. So we ordered Casamigos. Charlotte is one of the few places I visit that locks up the liquor bottle in a case at the table. Sabrina was our Bottle service waitress, and she was great. By the end of the night, our waitress switched to Mariah she wasn't as attentive and didn't provide great customer service. My sister ordered hookah, and there was a 20% gratuity added to the hookah that was separate from the bottle gratuity. The venue was nice. There were several slogans on the walls, and the graphic art was nice. The DJ was great. There was a sign to not make any music request.

Yelp
This place is permanently closed. The service staff posted about it on social media but no where else. Sucks because this place looked cool but I guess cocktail bars are not Charlotte's forté.

Yelp
We had a good time. We booked a table on a Saturday for a girls night. The table had a $300 min which is fine but a $50 cancellation fee. The club was absolutely dead. We were basically the only ones there outside of staff. We made the most of it but was absurd that we had to still pay the minimum for the table as anyone could've sat at a table bc it was so dead.

Yelp
Quick Synopsis: Broken Promises (BP) is conveniently located in the heart of South End on Tremont Avenue & sits on the same block as other South End staples such as Common Market South End, QC Pour House, Hi-Wire Brewery and many other great local establishments. BP is a 25+ hangout that provides great music, high-end cocktails and fantastic music. They have themed nights (look it up on their social media and/or website) to fit the flavor of any client seeking for an evening/night out. Drinks: Broken Promises does have a drink menu that highlights casual to top-shelf liquors with domestic and craft beers for the beer drinkers. The drink menu is beautifully presented on an iPad so you can illuminate your eyes right before the drinks tantalize your taste buds. I wish I could name some favorites but it's mostly the drinks that include GIN or TEQUILA/MEZCAL. Service: Ok...the bouncers are super cool, especially if you visit frequently, but make sure you have your ID and you're 25+. Also, make sure you dress "appropriately" (I'll leave that to your own interpretation). The bartenders make the drinks very well and the service is relatively quick. With any place, that depends on the volume of people at the venue but BP has always provided great service to me. Ambiance: The atmosphere is a combination of New York City nightlife meets Tokyo which is an amusing and 'vibey' theme. When there's a DJ, most nights, it's EDM music mostly mixed with some rap/hip-hop and occasional top billboard 100. It's a fun environment! :-) Food: Not available, but there are pretty other options to go eat such as QC Pour House, any food truck(s) outside of Pins Mechanical, Tremont, Hawker's, Tyber Creek and several other options. NOTE: All are pending on their closing times. We need more late night eateries in South End. All in all, go check out Broken Promises if you're looking to have some fantastic cocktails, listen to great music and enjoy a grown & sexy vibe. Cheers MATE$! ...::: TrizzyO_o :::...

Yelp
I've been dying to visit this place since it opened a while ago. My friend and I decided to visit on a Thursday around 7pm. Surprisingly it wasn't packed at all and we were seated right away. I would recommend visiting on a Thursday to check it out . Reservation: reservation highly recommended for the weekends Location: South End on the same side of the street as QC Pourhouse Parking: Good luck finding street parking in South End Parking is available on the street or in the parking deck 2 blocks away. I lucked up on a spot near Superica and walked. Setting: Intimate spot with limited seating. Drinks are names after the 7 deadly sins. They also have a few small plates options. Cocktail: Sloth 3/5 the cocktail seemed like a good idea from the menu but it was just okay. I wouldn't order it again. Lust: 3/5- again, this cocktail could've been better. Small plate: chicken skewers 3.5/5 it tasted like a regular chicken skewer. Nothing to brag about. Service: Our server was nice but he only checked on us once. The food took FOREVER for little skewers. Overall, I was disappointed in the visit. The cocktails were not good, the food was okay and the service could be better. The place is cute but I probably won't visit again.

Yelp
I didn't order food from here and I drank a lot so while I know I had a good time- if it weren't for pictures then I wouldn't have been aware so I'm guessing the drinks were on point.

Yelp
Absolutely Yes!! This place is a hidden gem. The vibe inside is adorable and the music fits the part perfectly. The bartenders are friendly and accommodating. Plenty of Insta worthy angles for pictures. On the drink menu - get the Love. It's light, sweet and goes down too smooth. I will be back!!

Yelp
Finally found some time to make my way here. It's small but very cute and unique. I love that it's a 25 and older crowd. No clashing into the college social circles. Unfortunately they were not serving food the day I went. I was disappointed about that since I had brought my friend there to eat as well. Due to that inconvenience we left after having one drink. The service was very professional and kind. The drinks are curated on the seven deadly sins and the food menu only had about 4-6 items. It definitely gave me downtown Manhattan vibes of New York City. Cute and chic. I know I mostly enjoyed my time here because we were the only ones and by the time I left there were only 2-3 other parties. I'm not so sure I'd enjoy it here when it's a full house. Nonetheless, this place is decent. I will return. Tip: Friday - Sunday I believe it's reservation only with a $200 spending minimum.

Yelp
Broken Promises was such a nice vibe, despite us not sticking around for too long to try out their drinks and/or food. We came in on a Tuesday night as they were preparing for a drag show. We didn't stay for the show but the restaurant has several quotes all around about "broken promises", which I thought were quite funny. The staff was polite as well so overall, it was a short, but good experience.

Yelp
I was debating between a 3 star or 4 star review and figured that would be a 3.5 star review and should therefore round up. Anyhow, I was glad that although this is a club in the evening they are more of just a fancy bar for the first few hours after opening. The decor is beautiful and exactly my style. I thought the drinks based on the seven deadly sins was neat and the drinks were pretty good. Food wasn't being served since we arrived shortly after they opened. Service wasn't that great, it seemed like we were an inconvenience to them.

Yelp
3.8!! I wish I could Yelp 1/2 stars lol. This place is super cute and easily accessible. I think they may be the sister property to Lost & Found. At times it definitely gave me Lost & Found vibes but smaller (no patio). The decor was very cute, colorful and modern. Menus lit up when you opened them and each lounge area had a small vase of red roses. They offer food but I don't think it's prepared in house but instead like down the street at a food truck or something as I saw guy running in and out of the place bringing food. The music was ok, I think house cuz I don't recall knowing any of the songs that played but it may have just been filler music until a dj arrived. I did notice a dj booth. We came on a Saturday evening around 730p. We were able to walk in and get seated without any reservation but you can make reservations as we were asked did we have one at the host stand. Our waitress Sabreen was nice, quick and efficient. We let her know we were dropping in for quick drinks before dinner reservations and she wasted no time getting us our drink orders! Our drinks took a while to come out though and it wasn't booming in there. She didn't take very long to bring us our check as she knew we were tight on them so I appreciate that. Now the check surprised me a bit but it could be because I haven't been out out or treated anyone in a while. 3 shots of casamigos came to $48. 3 cocktails & 1 mocktail + the shots & automatic 20% gratuity came to $124. Omg and as I'm writing this I realized I added an additional tip forgetting gratuity was already included SMH. Not a fan of South Beach prices & look but a south end experience. Also not a fan of auto gratuity anywhere especially when the group is less than 8 and you necessarily are getting 20% worth of service.

Yelp
This new place has a fun nightlife! We went when they were not even 3 weeks open and there were already people waiting outside! The bouncer was very kind and conversational. It was seating room only until 9 PM when we went on a Saturday evening. The drinks had a fun theme to them (The 7 Deadly Sins, and then some) and all were delicious! It's pretty loud, so I recommend going earlier if you want a place to have a good conversation. I highly recommend checking out this bustling place with great drinks and friendly service!

Yelp
Overall, this place was kinda cool, the drinks were delicious and the female bartender we had was just the best! The ambience was cool for a kinda dead Thursday night. There were so veryyyyyy creepy older men that I had to sternly tell at one point to please leave us alone, and it is quite a small place, but overall, we had a nice time and would go back. At least for the tasty cocktails, even for $16.

Yelp
One TV, you can't sit down unless you reserve a table even though all tables were empty. Had to go to the peasant area and stand. No draft beers.

Yelp
South End has all the new fun restaurant, bars and lounges popping up everywhere. I stumbled on this location even though I follow them on IG simply because they don't have awning or building signage. Definitely gives vibes of "if you know, you know", which I am kinda into. It was the later afternoon on a hot summer day so we all decided, lets just go in. Its not large inside but its well laid out and is very art pop meets lounge vibe. It has a very small patio area which I can see being nice when it cools off. Service was nice enough. My cocktail was delicious but the art is what I LOVED. The neon signs and digital art is very impressive. I plan on going for an after dinner drink soon so stay tuned...

Yelp
I never had an issue with Broken Promises until in the last 6 weeks. The base is consistently turned to such a level that it carries to the local areas disrupting our sleep and is in violation of the local noise ordinance. Since I can hear the noise from my home, I am deterred to grabbing a drink here due to the excess noise.

Yelp
My friends and I checked out Broken Promises on Thursday and had a blast! The people who brought you Lost & Found have now opened a new 25+ spot! Not too packed for a Thursday and we were able to get a table within a few minutes of being there. The customer service was spot on at the bar and at our table and we were able to get drinks and food pretty quickly. We had a few people tending to our table and everyone was so friendly. My favorite item on the menu would have to be the Truffle Fries! I didn't even know I liked Truffle Fries until this day . We also ordered the edamame and pork belly buns which were also good!

Robert G.

Yelp
after a big night at Broken Promises Charlotte my friends and I paid the tab in cash - $758, however the bar also charged my credit card the same amount. Without a receipt for the cash payment (who gets that at 2am?) the bar will not give me a credit ! I wont be going back here any time soon.
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
Came here to start the night. Bouncers were really friendly. It's a relatively small venue, and getting a table would help to give you more space. Cool lights, and there are bar tables to help you out if you have a group with drinks in hand. Overall the vibes were pretty good, and the location is great. We headed to Pins afterwards down the street, so it made for an easy transition at just a 3 minute walk.

Yelp
Very cool spot however to sit down in any seat you have to pay. We got asked to move several times. It's ridiculous to not have seating for customers unless you pay. Bartenders were nice and drinks were good but don't plan on being comfortable.

Lance R.

Yelp
Terrible service. Slow unattentive staff. Not sure if it is supposed to be a bar, lounge or miami want a bee.

Rin E.

Yelp
i am not gonna give a negative review bc the space and concept is beautiful. But the music is really too much. Like the worst house music. For hours. and also the ipad menus brightness is *too bright* and hard to read i want to love it. i really do. but the music was toooooo... chill..... like sleepy house music. like i thought the vibe was gonna be more "what i do - edit by the deep shakerz" or "body funk by purple disco machine" but it was not which was so sad. we left early on a saturday night. bc we were tired. i hope they open a small dance floor and play music with a higher bpm. my christmas wish

Jensen W.

Yelp
YALL NEED NEW BOUNCERS! They are so unaware and just aren't good I don't see this place going far if y'all don't get the bouncers in check.

David B.

Yelp
Amazing place to go dance, party and have drinks with a girlfriend on a Friday/Saturday night
