Cornwall Bakery Closes; Bronze Door Restaurant Opens in Grosse Pointes - Eater Detroit

"Meanwhile, the Bronze Door is open in Grosse Pointe Farms. If it sounds familiar, it’s because a restaurant with the same name was in the same location from the 1960s through the ’80s. Most recently, it was the home of the Hill Seafood & Chop House. The 90-seat restaurant will feature classic American fare such as fresh seafood, prime cuts, burgers, soups, and salads. The bar will serve a selection of handcrafted cocktails." - Monica Williams

Bronze Door is a ten star restaurant in our opinion. We had our first date in the fall of 2022, and went back for Valentines Day in 2025, as husband and wife. Their menu choices never disappoint. The orange glazed salmon entree is flavorful and very filling. We also recommend the filet mignon and the white cheddar mac & cheese. Upon our visit, both times, we were greeted with amazing hospitality. Andree Lux, Sommelier and General Manager paired a great red wine with our meal and she was so kind to take a photo of us on our special visit. Bronze Door will always be our special place. From the atmosphere, to the staff and all of the menu choices, you can’t go wrong. Parking is easy, and the location is great. We look forward to our next visit!

The food & service was 10/10! Our waiter, Grant, was very polite & attentive to our table. They are very reasonably priced as well. We will be back!

We highly recommend the Bronze Door. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the salmon, filet, and the veal. Each dish contained potatoes and vegetables. The fig and pear salad dish was very tasty as well. The brushetta was just as good. The staff was very welcoming and attentive! From the hostess to our waiter, Anthony! Anthony was great. The ambiance was wonderful, from the candles to the decor. We had a celebration, and they were kind to ensure we had a wonderful time.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place truly deserves five stars. My husband and I originally planned to eat at Luxe next door, but they didn’t have high chairs or booster seats. He popped into Bronze Door to ask, and they couldn’t have been more welcoming—they had both, no hesitation! They were incredibly accommodating to us and our two-year-old, and the food and drinks were just as impressive. My husband ordered the perch and I had the fig salad—both were absolutely outstanding. We each got a cocktail as well, and the bill was surprisingly reasonable. We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone with kids. It’s so refreshing to have a local restaurant that’s not only family-friendly, but also offers something far beyond your typical diner fare. A real gem!

The service was first rate from the moment we walked in the door. The food was amazing! We had the Lobster/Bass dinner and the Steak. It was the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time.

Google
Food was great, but the service left a lasting impression. I’m so appreciative of the extra miles this team went to make our anniversary special. I HIGHLY recommend Bronze Door to anyone looking for a special, intimate experience tailored just for you.

Everything here was just okay. The cocktail was too sweet. The server was very hard to get a hold of. And I wasn’t impressed with the food. The salad was the best thing they had! They charged scallops a la carte. The salmon Caesar was pretty good. Overall, I would not return here again. Primarily because the simple meal took a very long time and we didn’t enjoy it.

I really love the classic aesthetic of Bronze Door! They have a nice cocktail menu with unique ingredients. I ordered the grey goose shrimp and penne which was a nice portion and very flavorful. My friend ordered the stroganoff and honestly we both felt hers seemed more like an appetizer portion and definitely looked like it should have had some more carrots and spaetzle. Our server was very friendly and gave suggestions for the menu. My only issue was when we had cashed out and were getting ready to leave, she came over and said she didn’t charge my card the full amount and didn’t give much explanation, just said I owed $16 more dollars. I thought this was strange and a little off-putting that my card didn’t get charged properly the first time... The highlight of the whole experience was the lemon cream cake for dessert- PHENOMENAL! I would definitely come back for drinks and dessert!

Yelp
First and foremost: the ONLY reason this restaurant receives 5 stars is due to the unbelievable, outstanding, charming, attentive server Teaira (sorry if I'm misspelling your name)! We were a small group of four and unanimously agreed: best service we received in a very (very) long time! Food. We all ordered a different dish and two thought it was very good, the other two gave it a so-so. Ambiance nice, restrooms clean, supportive team: attentive. Again, when you go: be on the lookout/ ask for Teaira, she'll elevate your experience and truly take it to the next level!!!

Yelp
Tonight was our first visit to the Bronze Door in Gross Pointe Farms and everything about it was outstanding! Our server Grant was attentive, professional and personable! The ambience was nice and quiet. We ordered the lamb chops and chicken picatta and both dishes were excellent! Will definitely be back! Thank you for the great service!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting the Bronze Door. We had looked up the reviews prior to visiting the restaurant and liked what we saw. The building was quaint and gave off a fine dining atmosphere. We were quickly seated and greeted by our waitress Candace. Our waitress Candace was efficient and polite which helped and made our meal more enjoyable. After reviewing the menu, we discovered that the menu the restaurant currently had was not the current menu listed online. Not a huge deal but definitely changed the dynamic of our meal. I ordered the jalapeño drink which was pretty good, while my husband stuck with a coke. We ordered the Artesian garlic bread, the southern fried chicken sandwich, and the patty melt. The food was all very good and worth going back for. For desert we ordered the crème brûlée and the lemon mascarpone cake which were both delicious. Overall we would return, but would check for an updated menu to make sure the items we wanted were available for that time.

Yelp
Very nice Happy Hour at a Tall Top in Bar area . Good service , tasty expresso martini and very reasonable Happy Hour food menu . Big positive change from a couple years ago. The hostess was most accommodating.

Ann A.

Yelp
I'm not sure why the service is always poor. It takes about 20 minutes or more for someone to approach the table and ask if you'd like something to drink. The food is good but the service is sub-par.

Yelp
We came to this location around 5pm on a Friday night. I was surprised by how empty it was. The restaurant was bright and inviting. The bar was pretty busy for happy hour but almost all tables were empty. Our server Austin was very nice and personable. The food was fast a delicious. The short rib on both of our short rib dishes were very tender. The mushroom soup reminded me of a vegetable soup, very rich but delish. My husband said the pork chop was one of the best he's had. Definitely a place to go for dinner!

Yelp
This was one of the few places that had last minute NYE dinner reservations available, so I decided to give it a try. I felt confident knowing that this is one of Joe Vicari's places, because I've never had a bad experience or food at any of his restaurants. I also have fond memories of this place, as I came here often between 1988-92 - but I can't remember what it was called then, and it's driving me crazy - so if anyone out there can answer this, I'd be grateful! We were seated in the bar area, which was perfect because we were able to watch the Wolverines lose to TCU on one of their TVs. Everything was excellent - the delicious food, attentive service, and chic ambiance were all what I've come to expect from one of Vicari's restaurants. The stroganoff was amazing - I have to say that the spaetzle was better than I've had at actual German restaurants. No lie. I only have two complaints: that bread isn't complimentary - I mean, $6 is no big deal, but I've never had to pay for bread at a high-end restaurant before. I don't understand that. It's good bread, though. My other complaint is that their cocktails were too strong. Some people are ok with this, because you know the bar isn't shorting your drink, but if my drink is supposed to have strawberry or lavender, I want to taste those flavors - but they were drowned out by the alcohol. However, the bartender was more than happy to fix it to my liking. Other than those two minor issues, I was very pleased with everything at the Bronze Door. I'll be back :)

Yelp
Beware of Bronze Door. They do not honor your dinner reservation if you make it online. I used their Open Door reservation system on their website and I received a clear confirmation by email that my reservation was accepted. They called me 2 hours before my reservation to tell me they are completely booked! That's really crappy. I will never go there again.

Donna C.

Yelp
The hostess is rude. They had no seltzers and couldn't make an expresso martini. The food for the prices were just mediocre. The only good thing tonight was our server. Spend your money elsewhere.

Kristen P.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a special event with a large group. When I called to make the reservation, the woman that took the reso was not very friendly. She indicated you can only pay the tab using a single credit card (they would not split a bill multiple ways let alone separate checks), they charge a $5 per person cutting fee for outside desserts, and there's a $150 deposit that will be applied to the final bill. Not a customer friendly start to the experience. However, once we were there the server was nice and attentive. There was a variety of options on the menu to satisfy everyone in our party. The food was good. I really enjoyed the filet with whipped potatoes, the calamari was delicious. Drinks were ok, my old fashioned was not very good though. There were a few issues with orders coming out incorrectly but they took those off the bill and corrected them quickly. At the end of the dinner they DID let us split the bill with multiple cards, so that woman wasn't even correct at booking. They also didn't apply the $150 deposit fee so she had to void the original bills and re-run our credit cards. Overall I think they're working out the kinks and I would give it another chance.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner here. I had the shrimp pasta and we split the crème brûlée for dessert. My friend got the Caesar salad. All the food was very good. We also had good service and we enjoyed the ambience. Would love to come back.

Yelp
My mom received a "buy one, get one free" promotional email from The Bronze Door, so we decided to give it a try. Located on a lively street with other local businesses, I discovered that it replaced The Hill restaurant where I dined many years ago. The vibe is business casual with a nautical-themed decor. There is an extensive wine list along with some creatively crafted cocktails. All of our dinner items were fantastic! The pork chop with peaches melted in your mouth, and was one of the best I have ever tasted! The filet medallions with portobello mushrooms was perfectly prepared and sizable portion. I was most impressed with the spaghetti bolognese. Not only was the sauce meaty and delicious, it included 2 large meatballs plus Italian sausage. We completed our meal with the soft, chunky chocolate chip cookies. Although this restaurant is located on a commercial street, there is a parking lot for all of the business in back. Limited outdoor seating is available by reservation only.

Yelp
Celebrating my oldest daughters birthday she chose the Bronze Door . great atmosphere and the food we ordered was excellent! our sever Cassidy was also very pleasant and did a great job serving our party of 10. the only thing that we had a problem with was that we couldn't bring a birthday cake into the restaurant to celebrate. we were meant with a very abrupt wine steward who told us we couldn't bring in a cake into the restaurant , it was not allowed after being told it was ok by the hostess . she made the remark that that's why she is the hostess a she was the the wine steward put a big damper on the party because of her attitude when you spend over $500.00 on a dinner you should allowed to celebrate the way you want to .

Yelp
I had a nice experience at the Bronze Door. I came here this evening for a late Valentine's Day dinner. We started off our meal with the short rib pierogi and Rhode Island style calamari. Both appetizers were very flavorful and a delicious start to our evening. The black orchid martini was so refreshing and went right down easy peasy. I could've drank way more than one them haha... I had the beef stroganoff which was so decadent and rich with the umami flavors and the spatzle was perfection! My partner had the filet which was cooked to a beautiful MR with a vegetable melody and creamy mashed potatoes. Overall the food and drinks were a 10/10! The inside is very elegant, but simple and classy. Our waitress was very attentive and did her job well, thank you Carli. Overall I recommend the Bronze Door and I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

Yelp
I have lived in Grosse Pointe for years and never ate here. My husband and I finally had a date night without the kids, and this place was amazing! The food was great, and the service was over the top! The atmosphere here is also exceptional! Yes, it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's one of the gems in the area!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place and in all fairness I do believe I need to come back and give it another shot. The atmosphere is lovely. Everything from the woodwork to the high ceilings and tailored staff beautifully captures elegance. This wasn't an order the whole menu kind of night. I only opted for a couple decent drinks, the short rib bologenese, truffle fries, and a cup of french onion soup. My companion swapped the fries and entree for the fillet and duck fat fries. The soups were excellent. Not exactly my choice of bread, but these were very good nonetheless. I made the mistake of not noticing the choice between steak and shoestring cut on the fries (nor was I presented the choice) and was disappointingly given steak-cut. I'm just really not big on steak cut and it was more like the fries were cooked in truffle oil and given a light speckling of truffles than like if they were to be given a nice bit of shavings. They were ultimately not doing much for me. My biggest mistake of the night though was the Bolognese. The description made it sound like more than I could dream of and yet I ultimately found the experience to be surprisingly less flavorful and impressive than I anticipated. My companion's fillet and duck fat potatoes were a much better choice. Neither were all that groundbreaking, but the fillet I could at least say was very good. The potatoes weren't amazing by any means, but they were good too. I love the atmosphere here. The menu is very enticing. My first experience didn't entirely wow me, but I walked away still curious of better options to be explored.

Yelp
Fun name. It's where the Hill used to be. Nice and warm interior decor. Our waiter took a while to come us, no water after being seated and no order for a little while either. A male waiter checked on us, he asked if anyone had come to us. I said not at all. He was going to let his colleague know to come to us soon. He at least brought us some water. Our waitress came a minute later. I think were seated for a good 7-10 minutes before anyone came to us. Ordered the Terry's famous fried chicken, mushroom soup en croute, crab Louis salad. $73.14. Decided to keep the crab Louis as is. Extra lump crab is $15 more. Will order more if I am still hungry afterwards then. The mushroom soup came out after a long while. The mushroom soup is good, the phyllo bread topper is crunchy and has a nice top crust on it. The soup is watery, reminds me of an onion soup base, it has a mix of mirepoix and nice blend of wild mushroom. It's tasty. The food takes quite a while to come out here. Each serving it feels like takes 15 minutes to come out. Definitely not a place to go to if you are hoping to get in and out in a little over and hour. It's been 50 minutes and we have only finished our soup or appetizer so far. Our main course was out just shy of an hour after our arrival. The crab Louis salad is pretty good, the avocado could have come sliced at least, a bit awkward cutting that up and scooping it out onto my salad. The Terry's famous fried chicken is light, yet crispy. The bean and slaw are good as well. It's 4 pieces or half a fried chicken. Not a bad dish. We asked for our bill just before finishing our meal and now the bill took a while to come out to us. Everything takes an inordinate amount of time here. Again waiting for the return of my credit card and check to be picked up took way too long. The food is good, the time for the food out to come out to you and the service in general needs some work, yet.

Joshua W.

Yelp
I had perch fish and chips. It was not good. The tartar sauce wasn't there either. It was replace with a lemon aioli which wasn't good either. The same aioli was served with the calamari. The calamari was great. But the food was underwhelming. The Hill was always outstanding. So overall the menu needs some tweaks. The staff were incredible though.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant, so much so that I was given gifts certificates by family members at Christmas and my birthday to eat there. I spent the past two New Year's Eve there, and Christmas Eve and Easter. I won't be going anymore since they got a new chef. Their old chef was fantastic, and they had a few things on the menu that were healthy, and my favorite one was the salmon poke bowl and the the mushroom soup. Now the salmon is covered in butter and oil and too rich. Nothing is healthy or easy on your stomach. I used to like to eat outside but now there's no ambience, poor service, no flowers. In today's world people are more health conscious, and want pure ingredients not just food covered in rich sauces and butter. If you like that great! I'll take my business elsewhere.

Rose F.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I had the chicken Parmigiana and my friend had the chicken piccata. Best I ever had. The portions are smaller than other places, but just enough for me. Served with veggies and pasta. Yummy. Bottles of wine are half off on Tuesdays. So, definitely another plus. The dessert was a huge piece of chocolate cake and ice cream. So, moist. Great. Service was a little slow getting started, but once we had a server, he was very attentive. It is a lovely restaurant, one side is quiet and appealing for conversation. The bar side is louder and party mode is more apparent. Or maybe it is the 1/2 off bottles of wine and more woman drink wine then men. Maybe that is the extra noise. lol

Yelp
I have been wanting to try The Bronze door for a while and they happened to have extended hours for Christmas so I was able to finally experience it. I was in the area for work and was excited to be able to stop in for a drink. I absolutely fell in love with the cozy upscale environment. It was quite busy for 3 pm on a weekday! But everyone was getting out early to enjoy their Christmas holidays. I ordered a couple of drinks and enjoyed them both! I most certainly will be back again!

Bryan L.

Yelp
We had a Fabulous evening with good friends. The food was good, the service was great (Candice), but the Sommelier, Andree, made our evening super special. The Chicken Piccata was yummy, as was the salmon.

Yelp
It's been a while since my last review (due to Covid and cutting ppl slack) but I'm sick of accepting incompetency and lack of accountability! The service provided by The Bronze Door has been perfect and deserves to be noticed. I want to further note that Nick (server) was on point and made our experience that much better. His attention to detail, conversation, scraping the table, and warm towel hand service (new to bronze door) was above expectations. He was also my server the last time I was there, so he only reinforced my first experience at the Bronze Door (formally The Hill). As for the food, I can't say too much because the filet mignon was perfectly cooked, came with true Detroit zip sauce, asparagus, and potato's that were served in a square shape, which to me, always puts a smile on my face for some reason. The meal was 10 out of 10. We topped it off with table side creme brûlée and for the lovers of the dish, it was spot on and seared to perfection! The table side was a nice touch. The experience and food is only getting better at the bronze door and I'd highly recommend it. In addition, the bartender at the time did a very good job and was quite pleasant, which added to the experience.

Jason S.

Yelp
Food was very bald to say the least. Our server at the bar was great, but it felt like she was rushing the kitchen, btw we only ordered wings and a salad. The wings were like a knock off of KFC. No bueno. The Cobb salad chicken tastes boiled like dog food. My wife had a shrimp salad which was ok, but for $22 you should get more than 3 tiny shrimp.

Yelp
Food is really great, enjoy the lunch. I hope people take advantage of this Spot. So Good!

Yelp
I went to Bronze Door for brunch yesterday with two friends. We had made a reservation just in case, but upon arrival, it was clear, a reservation was not needed, we were one of only three tables at 11:15am on a Sunday. My inner Yelper screamed silently in dread. Yes, is it beautiful inside but it was a little stuffy both literally (like turn on a fan or something) and figuratively (but I guess that GP for ya). Service was good but it was weird that there were no cocktail menus and having to think of what you want on the fly when you haven't had any coffee or cocktails yet was a little difficult. I really wanted some pink brunch cocktail I had seen in one of my cocktail groups several weeks ago but could remember what was in it or what it was called, so I got a Tequila Sunrise. I ordered the Eggs Benedict but was a little underwhelmed that that is all it comes with--no home fries, no fruit, just the eggs bene. I only ate one of them because my egg was not fully cooked and the English muffin was not great and the ham was weirdly sweet. I don't know, it didn't work for me. I brought it home, might rinse the egg off and give it to my dog later. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and I was surprised it was served on the bone. For such a fancy place, you'd think they would give you boneless pieces. It's just not a pretty plate going back to the kitchen with bones on it and it didn't look fun trying to get the meat off those bones in any ladylike kind of manner. My other friend got that Boursin Omelet that was maybe the winner of the table. It is very expensive for what you get on the plate and the atmosphere is not for me. They are doing happy hour so I would maybe come back for that but I definitely would not come back for brunch.

Yelp
Went with friends for dinner. My initial impression of the restaurant was a positive one. Liked the vibe and the outdoor space. The service at this place was top notch! We had a fairly large party of 18. They were accommodating and attentive. Did not feel as though the place was packed, but there were other guests. Our drinks were always full and reordering a cocktail was effortless. We tried a wide variety on their menu. First off, the menu itself is so massive. It was cumbersome and took away from the elegance of the whole place. Definitely catering to an older crowd with the large black and white fonts. The rustic bread was delicious. The butter spread had a kick to it, which I did not completely love. We had the pork chops and chimichurri, calamari, escargot and cesar salad for appetizers. The pork chops are divine! Calamari was overly breaded and bland. The escargot was salty and the puff pastry absorbed the oil more than the flavors. The Cesar salad was strangely deconstructed, but the flavors were there. For main course, I tried a handful of dishes, but I ordered the bolognese and my husband ordered the shrimp. Yummy in their own right. The bolognese reminded me of my mom's elevated Chef Boyardee. The shrimp was well cooked. Found the sauce to be a little watery for my taste, but still pleasant. I also tried the Louis Crab Salad, which was also deconstructed. Strange presentation, but it was yummy. The chicken sandwich was a big hit. The salmon rice bowl was okay. The salmon was cut thin and resulted in a crispy filet. A big plus though is that they have great cocktails!! I had the jalapeño margarita and the paper plane. Both delicious. The jalapeño Marg has the spice I love. Also tried my husband's tiramisu cocktail. This is more a dessert cocktail as it has ice cream. Overall, the excellent service made up for the mediocre food. I feel the food is overpriced for what it is. I'll stick to the cocktails and the pork chops next time.

Raymond S.

Yelp
The food was the best. The Spaghetti Allá Bolognese was flavorful and the meat was well seasoned. The staff is really nice and friendly. Our waiter was Casey he was really friendly. The interior feels very fancy. Although their food is a little pricey in my opinion I ABSOLUTELY would recommend this place.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
The food was absolutely excellent, some of the best I've had. Got the stroganoff and the brick chicken and they were both wonderful. Wait staff was attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere was great, they had a quieter area and a bar area, we were able to have a nice conversation. Wasn't too loud or quiet. I would absolutely recommend!

Marybeth D.

Yelp
The new menu is incredible. Save room for dessert too, because our family shared and loved them all. Service, ambience and great meal.

Alison L.

Yelp
The food and service was great. Everything had a distinct flavor profile. Will definitely come again

Yelp
After dining here several times since it became the bronze door i can conclude that it has gotten progressively worse everytime I come back. Initially, I was happy with my food. Now I am deeming it near inedible. Flavorless food. Every request is ignored. A basic item like a burger is flat, grey and lacks flavor. I would swear they are using frozen patties. It's a shame because the ambiance at the bar is great. But the food is subpar and the service is mediocre. They need to make some serious changes in order to revive this location.

Tim D.

Yelp
The Bronze door has a great location in a community where it's a challenge to run a nice restaurant. The physical space is Reasonably priced entrees and appetizers; nice servers. A good bar in the back. Limited wine list. The food was professionally prepared and the food came out hot and tasty. It's a good idea to make reservations but you can usually sit at bar.

Yelp
This was our first time here and I was excited to give the newly reopened restaurant a try. I really like the decor of this restaurant. We decided to head to the bar which is located at the very back of the restaurant. We were greeted by friendly bartenders and they have a nice selection of drinks. I decided to get the black orchid which I loved. My friend decided on a gin and tonic. For our meals the short rib Bolognese was suggested. I love pasta!!!! I thought the dish was well-made. My friend decided on a salmon dish and it was equally delicious. We will most certainly be back.

Yelp
It wasn't the worst dining experience ever, but it didn't meet my expectations. We were there for a special anniversary dinner, which the host and the wait person were both aware of, and they did nothing to make it special. I saw on a previous post that they wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the dessert plate, they didn't even do that. The entrees and appetizers were tasty, but I feel like they were overpriced. The rich sauce in both dishes screams out for a crusty piece of bread, but the restaurant doesn't offer complimentary bread. I would have paid for a baguette, but all they offered for sale was garlic bread, which would have been overkill with the already very salty and garlicy entrees. The entrees are a la carte, a small salad costs extra. We spent $140 before tip on two entrees, a side salad, soup, one dessert, a glass of wine, a mixed drink and two so-so drip coffees. The service was adequate but uninspired. It felt a little too casual for what is supposed to be a fine dining experience. I do not plan to return.

Denise Y.

Yelp
The food was delicious, our server, Lucy, was well informed about the menu and cocktails. I would have liked more appetizers offered. The atmosphere was great for my Husband and I, very "talkable"!

Mercedes H.

Yelp
Hey everyone! So when we sat down there were two drunk ladies yelling at each other...they eventually stumbled out. The braised short rib pierogi was the only thing we liked, no joke. It was 10/10, could've been warmer but it was amazing none the less. Calamari was pretty typical, nothing special 6/10. The asiago bread was only $6 & we liked the concept of it! Super soft on the inside. The cheese and spices makes it taste like pizza....not complaining. So my bone to pick is the soup....the $13 mushroom soup...there's no way that's not campbells chunky soup NO WAY. It was honestly worth $4 maybe, not $13. Our waiter wasn't too attentive to us, maybe because of the weird...loud...different...crowd that night. Probably would only order the pierogi through carry out if I was passing through Grosse Pointe...other than that we won't be back.

Yelp
I love this place!! Their pressed potatoes and fillet mignon is beyond delicious and impressive. I'd eat here every if I could. Don't wait for a special occasion, just go and treat yourself to bliss! Well done, Bronze Door!

Yelp
Our first time dining was on November 17, 2023, and we were initially excited to try a new venue. The ambiance was nice. However, the service by Asia was extremely poor. She was not attentive, appeared indifferent to our presence, and was dismissive. She did not speak about the specials until we began ordering, saying, "oh I didn't tell you the specials." She seemed inconvenienced by any request. The fish was delicious, but we feared the service affected our opinion of the rest of our meals...so we'll hold our opinion on the rest for now.

Yelp
Dined there last night, interior was nice and were seated promptly, Downhill from there. Ordered gin and tonic Hendricks and was served Hennessy and tonic, calamari appetizer was way overcooked ( crispy critters), Brussel sprouts were way under cooked (hard as rock), no bread, had to ask for water and silverware. Waitstaff was totally unconcerned. A real loser, won't be back.

Yelp
We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. The restaurant has dark wooden tables and dimmed lighting. The patio seating area in the front of the restaurant was full but inside people were at the bar and seated sporadically throughout the restaurant. I saw families and couples enjoying their dinner. I believe our servers name was Kasey. Kasey took our beverage order first When my husband's re-fashion was brought to the table we ordered our meals. The calamari was delicious and the sauce that comes with it accompanies it well. The salad was delicious and as you see in the photo I ate half of it before I realized I didn't take a picture of it. We enjoyed the fish and chips. Hush puppies come with the fish and chips. Our hush puppies were undercooked so I asked the server if that's how they were meant to be served and was told we would receive a new order. The Bronze Door is a restaurant you go to for a celebration, or anytime you want to dress up and have a good meal. We would definitely eat there again.

Yelp
Went right around opening time. Sat in bar area at a high top. 30 mins after sitting the bar area was full and they were way understaffed. Getting service was next to impossible. Left spending almost a $100 (including tip) for soup and apps with drinks. Still tipped 20%, just a note. The experience was terrible for the money. They should not seat tables they can't serve properly, especially for type of place it is. Mixed drinks: very good Calamari: no very good, mostly breading Mushroom soup: good Their happy hour special look pretty good. Note: you have to sit at the bar to get deals (which is what we will try next visit).

Yelp
Bronze Door is extremely over priced for both the service and food quality. They are understaffed and service was very slow because of this and everyone seems to be lacking basic training, although waiters/waitresses and the hostess were super nice and all trying their best! Our drink order took over 30 minutes (1 bottle of wine) and the food was very disappointing. We both ordered steaks and the Caesar salad to pair with it. For some reason, the Caesar is served with this bizarre looking half tortilla covered in cheese and diced tomatoes, resembling a quesadilla? Still unsure what they were going for there. The steak was $55 and lacked basic seasonings. I ordered mine rare but the steak was very tough to cut through, almost like their meat is frozen. Salt and pepper can go a long way with red meat and this steak was lacking both. Also, for whatever reason they decide to top their NY strip with diced tomatoes? These have no place on red meat in my opinion and does nothing for the dish. The rest of the plate was COVERED in fries, way too many! Bronze Door is comparable to Applebee's, only they'll charge you 5x as much for the same food. We won't be back.

Yelp
Happy hour is awesome, especially the mac and cheese bites. Great atmosphere, very good food.

Yelp
First time dining here; the decor is classic and beautiful, staff excellent, presentation very good, prices quite fair. Menu has old fashioned items (beef stroganoff, escargots, truffle fries), very shrimp and beef-focused. The soups were generally better than the entrees-- which were chunked in large pieces and a bit under cooked. We had french onion soup (5), mushroom soup (10), stroganoff (4), pork chop (6) and filet minion (8). The spaetzle as a side on the pork and stroganoff dishes was the most disappointing as it was way too large and therefore under cooked, also an odd brown color and not the small yellow curls I'm used to. Overall, the locals may return but as a visitor I'd try a different place next time. https://www.bronzedoorgp.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/BronzeDoor_MainMenu_WineMenu.pdf

Yelp
Ashley the Somalia was super great! Ask for her if you can, she recommends wonderful wines that go well with your meal. She really made the experience so welcoming for my mums birthday. Had a wonderful time and food was amazing!

Yelp
We dined on a Monday night and the noise level was a lot lower than a Friday night. Food was excellent and so were the selections. Waitstaff was fabulous!! Atmosphere was great. Will go back!! On a Monday!!

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience at Bronze Door! A delightful ambiance as soon as you walk in. Great staff giving us great suggestions with the best attitude, helping guide us through the menu and best options for our dinner. Our food was amazing! Chicken was extremely crispy and juicy, bread was very enjoyable, calamari was crisp and perfect with the peppers and not rubbery! Bronze Door is definitely a must try again
